Motorola provides screen recording support for Moto GameTime - Moto G8 (Moto G Fast) Guides, News, & Discussion

In the Moto GameTime apk it is possible to find options for activating the screen recording mode hidden within the application's XML
Yes, you did not read it wrong, it seems that Motorola added screen recording with internal audio support according to the information obtained when reading the XML files and the decompiled .java files. Apparently, this screen recording mode is enabled according to the device model. There is still no precise information if there is a Motorola model, where this recording module has not been hidden from the main interface.

As you can see in the photo above, it is a line of XML code, with the variable "isPreferenceVisible", where by default it is marked as false, the variable was set to true. But when generating the APK package, it was impossible to install due to certificate errors. This may be a possibility for Motorola to release a future update by releasing this feature to all GameTime compatible devices
In this other photo, we can see that the XML file has the following listed: record the screen at a certain type of resolution, record the frames per second and choose a type of audio output, between the internal audio and the microphone audio.
It may be that Motorola implements these things for current compatible devices or for a future Gamer device.

Phone Profiles... Seriously

I just updated my "flagship software" for Phone Edition.
(sorry for the one month of delay time)
Many many improvements, new features and fixes.
Now you can replace the default balloon message of the upcoming phone, use the fullscreen message, see the caller's photos in any size... or turn the Pocket PC completely off into the Silent Profile.
More fixes for the standard PPC2002 and WM2003 Phone Edition versions.
You can customize the view of taskbar with all default icons are still visible correctly. The only solution for Phone Edition.
Plus: skinable interface, icons, images, messages in the full version, just it going to change the name to the Phone Profiles Seriously.
The Lite Version is free update for current users.
Test it. There is a few different O/S now. Be sure it works with your device correctly.
The Trial Version works 7 days without limits.
More screenshots, descriptions on the new Home Page:
http://www.jgui.net/phoneprofiles/index.html
Read there how to customize your images, icons, message.
I open the contest for the best and fun icons for Phone Profiles.
The winners (3) will get the full version. Until the end of February.

What metadata info is attached to a photo?

I wonder on popular custom ROMS what metadata info is typically attached to a photo, if I have GPS settings off? Email, or real name? Could a person (as opposed to law enforcement) somehow trace this photo back to me ?

I think only info like the focal length of the aperture, the fact that the phone is a SGS3 and the ambient exposure used for the photo.
Things like IMEI numbers wouldn't be stored with this, so they can't identify you directly, just the model of phone you used to take the photo.
Audio files store metadata. Images store Exif data. this data is encoded into the image file. some of it is read by windows but you can read alot more data from an exif reader. here is what mine puts out.

[Q] HOW: control what app to open certain file types

Background: Carbonite Mobile only allows files saved/downloaded to device to be accessed via their app / saved files option.
Problem: I have saved MP3 audio books to my device.* When I click on one, I am only presented with 2 app choices: Google Music & VLC.
"Smart Audiobook Player" is not an option:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ak.alizandro.smartaudiobookplayer
See attached screen shots.
This is a problem because "Smart Audiobook Player" has features specific to listening to audiobooks (saving playback position within an MP3) that other apps don't have.
I assume that there is something that determines which apps are associated with which file types.
On a rooted device, can this be changed?
Is there some piece of metadata in the MP3 that will identify it as an audiobook vs a music file?
NOTE: I looked in the 'reset default apps' menu in Settings > Apps ..
Pls see attached screen shots.
Thanks!

Question A wide-lens mode crashes into a Google Camera

Hello. I need to use a wide-lens in google camera, but I ran into the problem of gcam crash when using it. I've tried many google camera builds and widelens doesn't work in all of them.
I found out that each lens has its own ID. By default widelens = 3.
I downloaded CameraHW, Camera2test (you can download to check how many id you have) apks in order to find out the ID number of the wide-angle and was surprised that "Camera IDs visible to Normal Apps = [0,1]".
There is:
0 - back (Main) camera
1 - front (Selfie) camera.
It turns out that the realme blocked the use of a wide-lens and macro in all applications except the main camera. What for?
Spoiler: Attachments: record video with error, logs, cameraHW and camera2test

I need help. Who has RealmeUI and Magisk installed, can you install the "camera2api enable" module and see how many camera IDs you have will be available in third-party applications (cameraHW, camera2test etc)? I think this should solve the problem, but I don't want to waste time. You will help me a lot. Thank you.
UPD. I unlocked bootloader and install magisk with Camera2apiEnabler module.
Unfortunately, this did not give any results.
