Ok so I was asked to update this post. Some of the information found throughout the thread is below:
The battery cover can be found at: cnn.cn
(thank you NoNameAtAll from this post)
The cnn.cn part is just the case, no retail packaging (ie. no media dock adapter.)
jjwatmyself in post says that you remove the insert in the car dock and it will fit the atrix with the battery cover.
digital.aaron in post has some pictures with the cover on the phone.
jjwatmyself has some pictures here.
digital.aaron says in this post: it's very different from Otterbox's rubber. It hasn't picked up any fuzz from my pocket, and I've got on fleece sweatpants. Used to be a nightmare for my 'Box'd iPhone.
Some problems people were are having, the sides are flimsy (you get used to this) and the different colors seem to have different textures.

I bought the atrix from AT&T and I ordered a ruggedized battery cover from some website for $30 w/ shipping. My question is as I have neither yet, does anyone have the cover and is it good? Does it feel like it will protect the phone a bit and help hold the phone in the hand?

I'd be interested in this too. Asked a while back and it seemed no one has tried them, because there were no responses. I don't want to spend $30 on one if it feels cheap or doesn't fit right

Well, if no one else has tried I already ordered it so when I get both phone and cover in I will update this thread. It might be a while as I am stationed in Japan so my mom will be sending me the phone Tuesday or Wednesday and it may take a week or two to get here.
oh by the way I ordered mine from After market Cellular. Anyone have any dealings with them, are they honest?

I've been looking at one of these batter covers but several sites that I have checked show an estimated ship date or out of stock. Have you received a shipping confirmation for the battery cover yet?
These are rubberized battery covers and thus replace the stock plastic cover. They are from Motorola and are rumored to be out about April 15th. This is why several places show "out of stock", because they aren't out yet.
I have not recieved a shipping confermation, but the store was not showing them as out of stock r estimated shipping date. Now that a320ca said they are nto supposed to be out until the 15th I am worried that the store is a sham because it never told me that.
FYI, I just called them and they said they are out of stock of the Blue one. She asked if I wanted her to check stock on the Green one but I already knew what the answer would be. Store doesn't appear to be a sham but then again, you might want to look into your order if are expecting it sooner than later.
I hope there will be pictures of the cover when people get them. I an intensely eyeballing the green one.
I've also ordered one, from 123cellsupply.com.
I don't have a shipping confirmation yet, either. I've put in several emails to find out the status, but no response yet.

Really? Where's your local Bell? In the GVA by any chance? I ordered one from Bell online, because it didn't seem like there were any in stock in the Bell stores here in Vancouver... Admittedly, I didn't try very hard to find them.
But my order is still pending, turns out they're out of stock online...

Yes it wraps around the entire phone
They do look nice.... but to be honest, if it's actually silicon.... i dunno if i'd want it. That's basically my issue with the Otterbox cases. That outside cover attracts dust from alternate dimensions of your pocket. I can't imagine what the rugged battery cover might look like if it's the same material.

PDAir stuff looks really nice, but is a little too expensive for me. Check out the shipping charges for the ebay ones, with shipping included they weren't much cheaper last time I looked.

So far this is the best looking case I have seen. I sent an email to them asking for a picture of it in a "typing angle" but haven't gotten a response. I can see how the typing angle works on the version 1 but I'm not sure on the version 2.
If anyone here has this case maybe you can post a pic of the different angles not shown on the vendor website.

I am also interested in seeing more pics of the PDair. This is easily the best case I have seen (maybe the Zenus ones will be nice, but they are taking their time).
If the design is similar to others like kevikev case, then I would go for kevikev case ..
Would be interested if you have to insert your xoom upside down like kevikev or they invent a better idea !!
Upside down is a showstopper as I haven't found a DLNA-compatible video player that rotates when the XOOM is upside down.

Whether you have it propped up in the landscape veiwing angle, or propped in the landscape typing angle, the screen remains with the vrz logo on top. I have only used it a little so far, but have not had a situation where I had to view the screen with vrz logo on the bottom. You do have to have the case open to access the charging port though. Or you can just insert the xoom upside down in order to expose the charging port while the case is closed. I think overall it was designed pretty well.

This is all I can find. its not for our galaxy S2 though. its meant for the international version
edit: I didnt look close enough at the it. I guess the "case" is a just a sticker so in theory it should still work?
I have that pouch. The part of the phone at the bottom that curves up makes it so when you put the pouch on... It's not flat.. So the end doesn't stick down well. However, it works for me until they release a good looking case with an ID holder... Hopefully something like the twelve south iphone case. Here's a pic that sorta shows you what I'm talking about

May be a good stop gap until casemate get their tough cases out (loath to pay 30 quid though, but always found them to offer A+ protection)

I thought the exact same thing earlier. The location of the micro usb plug on there would mean that the micro usb port on the phone would have to be on the right hand side, but in all pictures it's been on the left hand side.
Perhaps it's a mirror image, for some reason?
the phone has 5 metal dots on the back. these are the dock connection. not the micro-usb port.

Use a UK website like mobilefun.co.uk and whaever they sell, they ship from UK. Also, learn how to fliter results on fleabay.

One quick question - the pictures of this with the SGN in semi-horizontal position show the table with the screen upside down. Can you flip the SGN so that the screen is the right way and still be able to get the s-pen out ? Sorry - stupid question, I know, but I think this is exactly the case I'm looking for. I need something that can be (almost) horizontal and still be able to plug the charger in at the bottom.

The orientation is with the bottom of the tablet to the hinge of the case. As far as charging. No problem with case open. With case closed Ive taken a scalpel and cut a small slit to allow the power connector access. No biggie.

Thanks, bocosrs. Sorry to be a dummy, but does that mean that, if you have it lying semi-flat, the screen and whole tablet is upside down with the power connector at the 'top'? I really like this case, but have my sgn on my desk charging all day and want it lying flatish. It's not much good if that means it has to be upside down.

Only if you have the "smart cover" folded like shown in the picture. Otherwise just open like a book and lie flat. Also dont forget that even if the tablet is upside down the orientation sensor will flip the image.
