MIUI V12.0.2.0.QJOMIXM Global is now out!
It may take a while to show in your system updater, however if you're eager to have it now, you can always download the ROM and flash it through normal recovery or TWRP.
Exciting stuff!

Tell us the free ram and the animation smooth or not or smoother maybe! Andd the ads ?

Well, it works wonders, no issues so far!
Really happy with how responsive it is, and the new features ofc.

I got the update via OTA but tbh the battery seems to be quickly discharges However i did a factory reset after the update
ALSO the most important issue which is the notch thing which u need to hide ( to change the resolution) otherwise games such as PubgM/CODM will be lagging as hell...i hope they know about this issue tho and will fix it asap

Yes you do, it's the older notification + quick actions by default.

EDIT: I used the following mode:
Recovery ROM Installation for MIUI 12
Recovery ROMs come with a .zip file extension and can be installed either through the Local Update method from within MIUI, or through the Xiaomi stock recovery. You can also use a custom recovery like TWRP for installing these ROMs, though do note that device-specific instructions may differ in that case.
Local Update method:
Transfer the download .zip file to your phone, and ensure you place the file in the “downloaded_rom” folder in the internal storage of your device. If no such folder exists, create one in your internal storage base directory.
Within your phone, navigate to Settings > About Phone > System Update, and then press the three-dot icon in the top-right corner, and select “Choose Update Package”.
If the “Choose Update Package” option is missing, tap on the MIUI logo 10 times to activate the option.
Choose the downloaded .zip file.
Wait for the update to install.

Nice straightforward guide there @fabianowerner
Still awaiting for the EU channel release - hopefully will appear in the coming days, following the appearance of this global update and the appearance of nags to update all the janky MIUI apps

Thanks for the quick recovery guide, could help a few impatient people get MIUI 12 quicker.

But it is said it is a stable beta. Is it beta?

Installed, I haven't had time to check everything but it's a personal guilty pleasure to have it.
I'd like to ask for someone who can give tips and hints to get the best of MIUI 12, or point where to find them.
Best greetings.

Are you sure?? Nothing shows in xiaomifirmware about 12.0.3.0. Last Global ROM is the one published at the end of july (12.0.2.0).
By the way mine shows its "Stable", flashed with normal recovery and succesfully rooted.

How To Root Xiaomi Redmi 1s {WORKING OTA Method}

Hello Guys, You were Curious To Root Your New Redmi 1s and probably solve all heating problems
Cautions - I'm not Responsible for anything its your choice and work (Nothing will go wrong by the way, I've tried it myself :fingers-crossed: )
Hit Thanks if this has helped you!!!
Lets Start with it
Requisites :-
1 - The Phone Redmi 1s [Indian versions supported]
2 - Some basic knowledge about recovery
3 -Download Attachment
4 - Patience
The PROCESS
1- Download the attachment "update.zip" and place it in the INTERNAL storage of Redmi 1s
2 - Download the SuperSU zip and place it in EXTERNAL sdcard
3 - Go to updater app -> options menu -> reboot to recovery
4 - In the recovery menu choose english (volume buttons will help )
5 - Apply Update to system (something like that), confirm it using volume buttons and power button
6 - Reboot System
7 - After the boot completes go to the updater app again and reboot to recovery (ref step 3)
8 - Well you have Philz recovery loaded within no time and if you have used this recovery before in any other phone then its easy
8.1 - If you are doing it for first time, Use power button and volume button for selection and navigation - install zip ->Choose zip from external_sd (some times sdcard1) -> navigate down and choose the zip and say yes if prompted (All using power button(selection) and volume buttons(navigation)
9 - After flashing completes -> reboot system -> say yes for fixing recovery
10 - done!!! enjoy your rooted redmi 1s
Warrning - you will lose stock recovery, your apps and data wont be hurt
UPDATE VIA OTA SUPPORTED!!!
Go to Next POST for UNROOT
Stock Recovery here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-1s/general/stock-recovery-how-to-flash-mi-recovery-t2917905
To cool your device, download no frills cpu control app from play store and set max frequency to 1.19ghz and close it... Now your redmi 1s won't heat up and still it would be lagless
A custom rom based on stock coming soon
Unrooting And OTA updates
Unrooting - - IMPORTANT TO OTA UPDATE
Use the superSU app's in-built settings to unroot it
OTA updates
Your OTA updates wont break if u root it, And you dont Have to Unroot to update!!
To do OTA update, open updater app and download the update and update normally, the update will go good in 15 minutes!, This means Updater app is compatible with this custom recovery, nothing to fear!!
Dear Dev
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm hereby conforming that this tutorial is working great for Xiaomi Redmi 1S,Indian version.
Try it and I'm sure in no way it will harm anything as it didn't to mine.
Thanks & Regards
BOND

What version of MIUI have you tried this? Also, what is the effect of receiving the OTA update while still have root?
Thanks for this!

That's not a easy way... It's the same method, I think Philz recovery is more useful and easy to flash zips and for utilities, cwm recovery is tooo basic, and I've taken some time to explain it for newbies so it's lengthy

Yep you will get Update notification and the updater app will download it, but as the recovery is not miui so it wont flash it, just manually flash it after unrooting it

Update works without removing root
Hi guys,
This is my first time posting on xda forums. I just wanted to share what happened today.
I rooted my redmi 1s according to the post with philz recovery. However today i recieved the update (MIUI v45) and without realizing that the update was already downloaded i clicked on update and got scared because it says here that it wont be able to update because the stock recovery is missing. But what happened was that it booted into philz recovery and updated through that. It took longer than usual around 15 mins I would say but It got updated.
It gave me option to retain the root and the custom recovery to which I said yes. And it worked. I still have my root permssions, all the root apps and phils recovery.

Just one question, why does not the native security pop-up come instead of superSU one?

Because MIUI superuser is a little buggy and unresponsive sometimes and hence superSU app will do the same work and MIUI will collect private data but superSU app will never do that so I think This SuperSU app is way better than native MIUI

I'm using philz recovery v6.55.0 to install beta miui 6 rom.
Download and put that zip file into internal storage and do clean flash before flash rom.
Anyone can answer me the following questions? (I'm on MIUI V5 and I'm pretty happy, everything works fine so I don't want to change just to go back)
1.Is the battery drop after reboot bug gone?
2.How's ram?In previous releases after doing some operations like(facebook/browsing/etc) when you tap on home button an message "Just a sec" was displayed and then after 1-2 seconds it loaded the launcher. Also multitasking was kinda bad,If you clicked a link on facebook and opened the browser, when you went back to facebook, the app didn't started from where you left it,it reloaded, like when you refresh timeline to get the latest notifications. It didn't kept in memory more than 2 apps, and those 2 apps shouldn't be too "big".
Thanks !
use mi own recovery for stable installation

[GUIDE]How to revert back to STOCK without PC

Hi in this thread I am going to explain a few steps to get back to STOCK when you are in CUSTOM ROM
.....NO PC Required.....
.....ROOT REQUIRED....
.....Charge upto 60.....
Note:-
-Need root with SuperSU or Magisk(<v14.2) or CM/Lineage SU for Working
-FlashFire Development is stopped and may not work on newer android versions.. I tested it on Nougat and Marshmallow only
0. Take Backup before continuing.
1. Download the stock ROM for your specific device and keep it in your Internal or sd card.
2. Download "Flash Fire" app
3. Grant SuperUser permission and Tap on + icon, select wipe option and by putting it default tap on on the top right corner.
4. Again Tap on + , select Firmware Package that you downloaded before.
5. After scanning archive deselect Recovery and tap on on the top right corner.
6. Finally tap on FLASH.
After a minute or two the process begins....
If not pull down the battery and restart as usual and repeat same after charging over 60%.
Note:- Internal Storage is not wiped after flashing in S4 mini so don't worry about it....
That's it....
I tested many times in my mobile I9192....because I don't have PC ????

No need to be in a custom rom...
It is very powerful app...
If you dont know how to flash stock rom and unbrick your device... dont use FlashFire app...
You can use that app for upgrading to newer version too..

I do know those. It's just i'm temporary separated from my computer right now, and as i've heard, ROM flashing should only be done via bootloader level ( e.g through ODIN... ).

You can't install Chinese Rom on Global version right?
I have EU rom, rooted and flashed TWRP, on Telegram they say to me to only download this beta, put on internal and flash, like a rom, and I will have this, is that try? To follow this steps:
OTA Update on Rooted Devices
1. Download Full Recovery OTA ZIP
2. Place in internal storage
3. Boot to twrp
4. Mount System and Vendor if not already mounted
5. Flash the ROM, and Don't reboot.
6. Flash magisk
7. Close AVB
8. Open file explorer inside twrp
9. Navigate to /system_root/system and check for file named "recovery-from-boot.p" and delete the file.
10. Reboot
Download link:

Followe the steps and the phone keeps booting in Xiaomi logo all time and loose TWRP recovery, any ideas how to solve it
gusmas, mate, you have to boot in bootloader, and again flash TWRP or other recovery.
It happen to me also... I do not follow those steps, cause do not know about it.
Please, would someone be so kind to explain how to do - Close AVB?
Thanks in advance. Regards to all.

Heyy if you rooted your phone with magisk and no twrp the below options will work and I'm using the same.
Incremental OTA with root:
1. Open magisk manager
2. Click Uninstall Magisk, then select Restore Images (Do not do a complete uninstall) and wait for it to finish
3. Do NOT reboot
4. Navigate to settings, and check for updates
5. Download and install the update as you would normally (It will download the incremental update, not the full 2GB+ file, saving you a lot of bandwidth)
6. Once done, open up magisk WITHOUT REBOOTING
7. Tap the install button, and select the 4th option (Install to inactive slot), once done, your device will reboot and you will be on the new OTA, with root, preserving your magisk modules if you have any.
Full Zip
First disable magisk modules
Restart
Download update and let it install
Then go to magisk
Install to inactive slot in magisk
Reboot

Thanks for the reply bro. I am aware of these methods. But somewhere down the line I f'ed uo and magisk doesnt have the original boot image, so I am forced to do the second method you described. I just need the full ZIP for C47. Please share if you have it. Is the ROM for global version same as the Indian version?

Has anyone installed the C47 update on 9pro... How is the phone behaving post install.. I am on A11 (all stock) and want to update to A12 but my previous experience with C44 was so bad that I downgraded. I understand that never stable releases have been provided any one care to provide a feedback on how the phone is behaving with the latest C47 update?

Update to the latest Stable 24.3 Magisk (or I prefer Canary). Reboot.
Open Magisk and Uninstall Magisk > Restore Images. Do NOT reboot.
Take system update. Do NOT reboot.
Open Magisk and install to inactive slot. Reboot.
Check for system updates again and repeat steps 2-4 if needed.
I'm guessing your phone will need to take the first OOS12 update first, then a second update to get to C47, but it may not.
Can I jump to this from 11 directly or do I need C44 first?
