S20+ SM-G9860 - is it possible to change CSC? - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Can you please tell me if it is possible to change CSC (possibly without tripping KNOX) on imported S20+ SM-G9860 to some unbranded CSC in other Snapdragon region? Thank you.

You're in Slovakia correct? You may be able to change from TGY (Hong Kong) to BRI (Taiwan) and visa versa but not any US or Canada Regions. Only Exynos devices have multiple CSC's for your region.

Yes, mate. That is correct.
I was hoping to hear about possibility to switch to US or CAN. Thank you for coming back to me.

S20+ CSC Change

Hello Everyone,
I have the SM-G985F/DS in Canada. The current CSC is XSP/XSP,XSP/XSP.
This phone is the international variant. Can someone please guide me on how I can change the CSC? I am a total noob. I would like Samsung Pay/ VoLTE to work. Preferably Fido CSC or Unlocked Canada, some bands aren't working properly.
If this isn't possible will I get updates for my phone?
This has been a big headache.
The phone is Exynos and I'm in a Snapdragon country.
Thanks

Since you're using an Exynos phone in a country where they officially sell the Snapdragon variant, you won't be able to flash the Canadian CSCs since they're only available for the Canadian variant.
VoLTE should work after you insert your SIM and reboot the phone, I've seen multiple reports of VoLTE no longer requiring the correct CSC to function.
Messing with band support is almost impossible on Exynos variants and I believe Samsung Pay requires the correct CSC to work so you're out of luck there.
All this aside, you will still get OTA updates based on when they're released for the XSP CSC.

Is S20 Ultra Korean Varaint (SM-G988N) possible to debrand?

I'm living in europe and I'm using S20 Ultra exynos variant, I'm planning to get S20 Ultra Korean variant to get the snapdragon 865 chip. But my questions are is it possible to debrand it? I read few articles that it has so many bloatwares, also is it possible to unlock BL and root it? My last concern is about the 5G, wonder if 5g work on my country with the Korean variant.
Thanks.
I'm owning a SM-G981N, carrier branded phone. Regarding bloatware, there are plenty of tutorials that can be found here to get rid of the majority of bloatware. The only way to be completely bloatware/carrier info free is to change CSC and flash the unlocked rom for your device. It seems possible to do with some third party software (samkey), but I haven't done so yet.
I have OCD when it comes to bloatware and or carrier info, I can't stand the fact that something is not original samsung. I have to say that after removing bloatware, except for the bootanimations, I really don't notice that I'm on a carrier branded phone anymore. If you dig deep enough, you will always find a handful of settings/options that shows you are on a carrier phone. Besides that, no problem at all.
I can't answer your questions regarding unlocking BL or rooting, but i assume in the near future this would be possible (if not already).
For 5G, you want to check your 5G provider's data protocol. If your phone supports it, then it should work no problem. Data for your phone can be found anywhere, example: http://phonedb.net/index.php?m=devi...ultra_5g_td-lte_kr_256gb__samsung_hubble_2_5g
Good luck!
That's possible my friend. I have successfully debranded over samkey from KTC (KorenTelecom) to KOO (OpenKorea) without loosing any of my data on my phone. I'm also from Europe!
Thanks again to @mishufac

Hi Mate,
After debranded, are you able to use Volte, wifi calling, 5G in Europe on the SD865 version.
Thanks
No 5g here at the moment. I think you need your home csc to use voip and wifi calling there but I'm not sure!

Yesterday I succesfully changed my CSC using Samkey. I've already flashed the KOO firmware of the rom prior to changing the CSC, but according to Samkey support, the firmware for these korean phones is the same. This would mean only changing CSC should debrand your phone. I managed to change CSC without any loss of data, it simply reboots afterwards and it's fully debranded!

yes I have g988n and changed to KOO with samkey if ur 5g band in Europe in n78 5g will work but regarding VOLTE it may not work
Yesterday I debranded my SM-G988N, different logo when booting and lots of Korean bloatwares. First I flashed it via Odin (KOO firmware) then after that I used SamKey to change CSC.. Credit needed is just 1. So now my phone is debranded already, back to Samsung logo when booting and no korean bloatwares.
New firmware available with camera improvements, may security patch and system stability improvements!

Could some one grab a screen shot of your NFC settings, please.
I noticed on a Korean tech YouTube video, they have an extra option in the nfc settings.
I think it's related to nfc door locks etc.
try getting the hong kong version , that has the snapdragon as well and is over 100 cheaper than samsung prices

You qoute is misleading.
The guy you qouted has a UK device and changed his CSC from branded Uk to unbranded UK, which both are on his device..
This guy here has a HK device and wants to to a European CSC. HK devices dont have European CSC on them, so he cant change to them.
Even if he roots the device, copies the CSC he wants from an EU decive to his and managed to change his CSC with wiping, not only he wont get quicker updates, he wont het updates at all because his CSC wont be an official CSC of a HK device

Try this - Go to "Settings" then "About phone". Write down your IMEI Number. Open dialer and enter *#272*IMEInumber# (In the thread replace IMEInumber with your actual IMEI Number). Press dial, you should see a screen with the list of available CSC codes for your device. Select the CSC that you want and tap the Install option. This method works on the S10, it should work on the S20 as well.

Makes sense, Samsung can sell the same device to all carriers. If it's modeled like OXM on Exynos variants once you insert a compatible SIM the CSC is automatically updated after startup. That's really good news, users can switch carriers without flashing new firmware. Curious if Branded US Models have the same option, I would think they do. Thanks for the info, appreciate it!

SM-G9860 (BRI) Taiwan CSC change to SM-G986B (PHN) Netherlands

Hi guys,
i've been wanting to change the CSC of the S20+ I bought in Taiwan. I wanted to have the snapdragon variant of the S20+ but now it seems some features are not included in this version compared to the European models of the S20+.
I am missing integrated Hiya service for example.
Is it possible to flash the firmware for the European models on my Taiwanese model S20+?
If yes... how?
Thanks

You cannot as they are 2 different models. However you need to change the csc from BRI Taiwan TGY Hong Kong to get Hiya service and any additional ones like Volte and WiFi calling. Please search and you will find thread detailing about how to change your csc.
