Tweak Notch - OnePlus 6T Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello, I just wanted to share a tweak that I found and, hopefully this helps someone. Big thanks to jagon2 for his Energy notch found here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=you.in.spark.energy.notch
And another thanks to , Jawomo for his aodNotify: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.alwaysondisplay
I have also included a YouTube video here:
By the way, I'm on a 6t international converted. Running 10.3.5 Oxygen, June 11 Omega kernel, Magisk 20.4, Nolimits 11.7, Twrp version 3.4.0-0, and, a few Substratum mods. This tweak really helps to remind of waiting notifications. The video I've included is showing a text sent to the device. It works for apps of your choosing. I just thought it looked really cool and, helps remind me of a missed alert
Hope this helps, someone out as well.

[Thread Closed] As it already exists here in the same area and it was featured on the portal here. aodNotify's thread is here.

[Q] Are specific mods available without flashing a rom?

I'm running Freeza's dedoexed stock MB1 Rom because there are some mods that I want to use, but I can't find them as stand-alone mods. A lot of the Roms have them built in, but they also come with a laundry list of things that aren't what I'm looking for, and/or have things removed that I would still want.
I'd like the Call Record mod, is available as callrecording.zip from Post #2 at Blazer Rom, which I believe is based on Freeza's Rom anyway. If I'm thinking properly, I should just be able to flash that as the Rom is at least partly based on Freeza's rom.
I'd also like to be able to use the camera and flash and wotnot on low battery and while on a phone call, but I haven't seen that mod by itself. And the final thing I'm looking for is the mod to use the volume rocker to skip music tracks while the screen is off.
Are these mods available if I don't use a whole rom to get them? I've searched high and low in the Themes & Apps and Original Android Development forums, but haven't found anything.
Can someone point me in the right direction if they are here somewhere, please? :fingers-crossed:
Just last week we had someone in here almost get crucified (figuratively) for asking pretty much the same question. But you seem like a nice guy, so hopefully it won't happen in this thread.
Unfortunately, there's no comprehensive listing of all available stand-alone mods. That would be a nice project to work on. But it would be hellish to debug (I don't even want to think about all the conflicting script that would go into flashing 10 different mods)
Anyways, onto your question... I think you might be able to find some minor mods here on xda. Where I would start is with the Rom itself. Most roms will list the various mods they have incorporated and will thank the dev who created that mod. Maybe if you look through the thanked users posts, you can find out where they posted the mod. It probably won't be in the Sprint section, so you'll have to be wary of what you're flashing (always nandroid prior to flashing).
Hope this points you in the right direction. Happy flashing!

Thanks, topherk. Hopefully that won't happen to me! I hadn't thought of looking for the thanked devs and seeing who created the mod. My next stop was to go straight to the Rom developers if I still hadn't found what I was searching for, but you're right, the rom developer might not be the same dev who created the mod.
The way they asked it was completely different. The way their request was interpreted was something like "why don't devs just build the exact Rom with these exact mods I want?"
They obviously were much more tactful than that, but some people could've taken it like that, and the ensuing ****storm was entertaining to watch.
Think you asked the"correct" question, which is whether there exists a listing of mods. I wouldn't mind helping to set up that list, but I feel maintaining it would be a pain, haha.

Welcome To
The Little Minions™
An Infamous Production
Rules:
Before you start using this rom here are some things you need to know:
1. I am NOT updating every day. I have a life just like you.
2. Don't ask for ETA, this is rude and offensive. When it is done it is done. Simple.
3. Custom Roms come without warranty. They are tested before release but something always can go bad. If your phone catches on fire, your get fire because well...your alarm did not sound, or if your phone starts dancing out of the blue I am NOT responsible.
4. Support is limited. Sometimes I can answer your questions sometimes I don't have the time nor the knowledge. There will be times I don't have an answer so please do no repeat your question or get offended because I haven't answered you.
5. Don't compare ROMs. It is rude and offensive for developers. If my ROM does not satisfy your need, it simply does not. Do me and you both a favor and flash another.
6. Don't Kang the work. You may fool everyone else but we will know! If you want to use something just ask!...3Minit is an exception to the "just ask" park but do NOT Kang it.
7. If you like my work, an applaud and hitting the karma button motivates me.
8. No flaming! We have all been a NoOb before. I was a noob, you were a newb, and I can bet 1 cent that a noob is reading this.
9. Read the change log. All relevant important information is there first! i.e. Bugs and fixes if there are any at the time.

/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
By using the rom you agree with the above terms!
This ROM is for individuals who understand that I am learning myself. So you will have to be forgiven on careless mistakes because I am no Jamison nor Mr. Impossible. But this does not mean that I will upload anything that I know will mess up with your phone intentionally. I always flash my roms before releasing it.
Secondly, this ROM is for individuals who do not like bloats. I have debloated this ROM as far as I can take it without crippling you if you so desire to add back your APKs. The size of my ROM is 800mb+
So what does this mean? This means if you find a bug, report it. If it is due to my own careless mistake, I will look into it. On the other hand, if it is due to because I have remove a specific APK that you need, what I can do is make flashable zips for you. I will not rebloat this ROM in any shape or form just because it does not have something you Know you can live without and can flash it if needs be only if it originally came with GS4. Any none default apks, you are on your own. This goes back to rule 5:
Don't compare ROMs. It is rude and offensive for developers. If my ROM does not satisfy your need, it simply does not. Do me and you both a favor and flash another.

Fourth, this ROM is for those who will help better me as a developer. If you are not here to help me, help you, than I cannot help you. If you find a mod you enjoy and wishes to see it in this rom, by all means. The GS4 is lacking in mods, so the more the merrier.
And Lastly, This ROM is for individuals who Likes The little Minions from Despicable Come on! They are adorable! I could just squish their cheeks!

01/08/2014 Little Minion IX, I for Infamous
Hey guys! I hope January been treating you well! As always, thank you for flashing!
Kernel
-Yes people, we finally got our own kernel...once again, all thanks to Jamison, he really looks after us
-What is found in the rom is the initial bioshock but you can grab our own here
3-Minit
-3-Minit is finally here!.....for INTERNTIONAL! So if you like wifi-calling, you do not want to flash this!
-For the latest firmwares, 3-minit is not the same as it was back in 4.2.2...but just about everything you usually work there will be there, things are slightly different!
- Important Note It is VERY Crucial for you to install the 3-minit app in order for you to gain access to the Power Menu options. So do not come in this thread going "you do not have access to recovery straight"
Theme!
-Ya body! I am finally done with our theme for the International! It is the same old goodness, except...BETTER! My theme had a makeover!
-Tell me what you think of it and please let me know if you feel I have a theme bug somewhere. What may look normal to me could actually not be the look I was going for and I need to fix it.....I am biased towards my theme, so I will not notice these little details lmao. '
-If those running T-mobile Firmware wants it, let me know and I will look into having the phone theme fix for you guys (Black on black is just a no no )
-Can be found here
New SecSettings
-If you go under Display, you will notice two new setting options: Torchlight and Page buddy
-Why page buddy was not remove all together? I had a friend who actually made use of that so I figured why not just make the setting available at a finger click
All mods from previous should be there, if not let me know!
Happy Flashing!
01/08/2014 Little Minion IX, H for Happy New Years
I just want to start of by saying, Happy New Years everyone! 2013 was a great year for me both out of XDA and on XDA. Was the year I embranced my inner nerd and bugged the hell out of @Jamison904 to learn some form of development, and he made it happen. The result? Well this rom, I gave birth to this beautiful thing (Yuck and TMI!). Thank you all for those who stuck to flashing it, I know there are other great roms out there but thank you for staying with this one!
I wish you and your family a blessful year to come, may the light on your life shines far brighter than anything imaginable from 2013. Here to a beautiful year to come, 2014
I had plans to released this on New years day, but as you can tell...today is not the 8...better late than never right? I had a much better thorough details of the update but my friend had deleted it -.- ugh
Bug Fixes
-The battery misread should be fixed this update. I hope i uploaded the right version, my friend took his laptop home already . Yes, I was getting you guys an update despite my laptop issues, how much I care! lmao
4way reboot
-for those of you who do not like xpose and just like the simplicity of this rom, you no longer need xpose to get to the recovery.
Theming
-Did some slight theming that included some clean up. I love the simple theming with the white stock Tmobile firmware...it is exactly who I am, simple
-If you notice it, tell me how you like it ^-~
Build prop edits
-More of a clean up if anything and added in data weaks for those with data issues. I hope this help some of you!
-The usual battery tweaks and attempt at more smoothness.
Phone status to "official"
-This is not too important but me personally, I like to show my phone to my naive iphone buddies and tell them "Yes, samsung sent it just like that"
KitKat Launcher by KK App Team
-I have fallen in love with the kk launcher so I decided to add in a better, much more customizable version into my rom (rather than the original) this is provided by http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059203 so please leave any review if you enjoy it too
Note 3 Launcher
-I have added in the note 3 launcher for reason i will mention later. A bug with it is not being able to uninstall apps but you can simply open kk launcher and uninstall from there. If you do not like the default launcher, this is not really an issue. If you are like me and have all your apps in titanium, it will also not be an issue.
My magazine
-Not many people will find this much of an update but it fully works. I personally love the app and because it is integraded with the note 3 app, you can simply swipe up to open it
Note 3 SecMMS
-it is much more organize compare to the regular SecMMs setting wise. Let me know how you like it
-Should also include all features from VIIa...I missed split view!
CSC edits
-Lot of CSC edits including smart block, calender, exit prompt for browser, OTA update removed and some random ones.
-Everything found on VIIa will be found here.
Sony walkman
-I personally like it better than samsungs, so thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059203, it is not here. It works flawlessly...give it a try!
Some random updates
-Random meaning they were initially in VIIa and they have been moved over
Happy Flashing!
12/25/2013 Little Minion VlII, H for Hamate
4.3 is live!
Get me
Theme Fix
Yes, you must fix theme lol
Keep in mind that this is not in a possition that VIIa is at, it will take time. For now VIIa is the stable version where as VIII will be beta. Additionally, keep in mind we are still feeling out 4.3, I cannot get the 4way / 3way boot to work nor can I see it anywhere for now. Installing Wanam xpose right after flashing is very important. It has just about everything 3minit has (+/- some things) so you can achieve just about everything you could. I just personally prefer 3minit lol
Minor Theming, will be making it fully compatible later. Cost more burden than necessary but this is a start.
Thanks to @jovy23 for his ext supported kernel!
Call recording in menu
3minit removed for now until I can make it completely compatible or if Mr Impossible beat me to it (most likely lol)
Added in Xpose, preferably Wanam Xpose. Gravity works as well if you are only interested in 4way reboot!
Added in Some Note 3 apps but can uninstall if do not want
Some debloating, but not as much as before (Will make a complete debloat later)
If you see any mod missing please let me know! So far I need to finish modding SecMMS, so no worry on that
9/25/2013 Little Minion VlIa, G for Gleek
Highlight: Bug Fix for future flashers
-This is a minor update directed at new flashers. They are general bug fixes that you all have mention.
- Emails, SecMMs, Inits, Toggles , etc
9/19/2013 Little Minion VlI, G for Gleek
Finally got a theme! I present you...Domination: Minion Edition
-Alright so, after shopping around for themes, I finally decided on one! To be more specific, @Vertumus Decided on me! I have been a huge fan of his work since back in the GS3 days, Domination broke my phone virginity theme wise ...shhhhh but head over to his thread and give Vertumus a lot of thanks! Rate his thread while you at it! Very nice guy. Should have imagine my face when he agreed lmao
- What I did was just make it Minion compatible and 3minit compatible right out of the box, I will edit it more as I grow as a themer (lol). As you can see up there, it is AOSP inspire. If you love AOSP theme, well you got it!
N7 Animation
-So I added in N7 Animation since we were all in love with it! I grabbed this from CPA Poke Thx for the port!
Minions Kernel
-So thanks to @Jamison904, we now have Minions Kernel 2.0. Can grab the OC version Here Send him some thanks if you haven't already! Made 64gb compatible.
Bug fixes
-So not many bugs was known in this one but I address the Anonymous (I think what it was) message when was taking part in group conversation. If you still facing this, please let me know!
-I think we finally found a work around with viper for good thanks to @marcoxx626 . When you find him, send him some thanks ^.^
App Removal/Update/Addition
-So I have removed dash clock, as much as I love it, I love lockclock much better. I hope you feel the same way!
- I have updated infamous tools, when you see @Jamison904 anywhere, send him lot of thanks
Added in some Note 3 apps
-So I saw the note three file management app and fell in LOVE with it. So well, I replaced the Gs4 File management app with it. If you face any bug please, please let me know!~
-Also added in Bloomberg+ . I personally enjoy news, so hey lol If you do not like it, can always remove it
Settings Additions/Substraction
-So I enabled Smart block to our setting, you can enable or disable this from the very begining of the set up where you see "Learn about Key Features" it is the very bottom. YOu can find it under setting @ device
-Also enabled factory password section located under security.
-These were special requests from a real life friend
-Removed the Update Software option under device...was bugging me o.o
-I enabled the exit Exit button in web browser, another request
-I believe I also added in callback number under message
And the rest of the things no one cares for
-Just more edits with scripts and what not...for smoother, better batteries, yadi...yada...BTW If you are still experiencing battery drain, please remove the init scripts and tell me if your battery has improved!
9/09/2013 Little Minion VI, F for Fasti
Just want to start of with...did anyone notice the new bootanimation? COME ON!
Bug fixes!
-The Favorite App should now appear on the lockscreen
-Camera issue has been addressed
-Sensor crashing has been taken cared of
-Some other i can't recall lol
Infamous Kernel 2.0
-This should DEFINENTLY address the bootloop people were facing
-So no more bootloop, thank you for your patience
-And of course thanks @Jamison904 for the awesomeness of it
Infamous Tools
-Added in latest infamous tools!
-This is a work in progress by @Jamison904 and I dabble when he's not looking
-Now comes with Power User where you can find scripts to reboot, boot into recovery, etc
-The app is pretty cool so check it out!
-[Note] The app works best at lower DPI (known bug) so if you want to get the best out of it, will have to set it at 380 and below dpi.
-You can use Appsetting to set it at 380 if you prefer to use 480 for your phone. I can walk you through this if you do not know!
Removed Call recording
-I could not figure out how to do 3way calling when I really needed to do it so for now this is remove until I can troubleshoot and fix it!
Modded SecMMs AGAIN
-This will make it so that text messages received will not show up in your call log (I hated it!)
-So thanks to @jovy23 thank you for the walkthrough!
Tried to make it smoother
-Keyword, tried. So I fixed the scripts in the rom.
-I could be imagining things!
Some other things...I may have forgotten lol, other bugs that you do not care about since you did not find them lol
9/042/2013
Rebased on MH1 from scratch (Again, Sorry guys no dirty flashing!
-3minit comes working out of the box, but updates should not give you any bootloop.

Not sure if it is possible Im not a dev or anything but just an idea. It would be cool if the minions would go around your home screen playing with your icons and do different things. I remember on the old iMacs you could download a screen saver were a little dog would go around your desk top eating your icons and playing with things on your computer.
Is there a donate link anywhere?

I will place one up if needs be, I never really thought of that lol.
And ya that is an awesome idea, but I do not know how to develop apps I am looking for to make things more..playful on your screen but so far no luck. The one i found is "incompatible" so I will look into that for the next update.

Q&A for [ROM][N7-2013][5.1 r3][LMY47I] Chroma – 04/05/2015 | Layers
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [ROM][N7-2013][5.1 r3][LMY47I] Chroma – 04/05/2015 | Layers. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Does HDR work on this ROM? I've tried quite a few ROM's on my N5 and in most the HDR in google camera was non-existent in the options menu.
Is this a bug?
I've been looking through settings, and I can't find how to disable heads up notifications. I also tried search and that didn't do any good. Is the option missing? Or am I just blind?
ROM is great
But i've got a feature request for you. Previously i saw this only in mod for stock and in one rom. I'm talking about linking nav bar and status bar colours feature. Idk how it will be practical, but looks nice.
Fixed Camera Error on 04/08 build
I don't know if this post helps, but right after flashing Glitch kernel r320 I got the camera to work, so could it be that stock kernel has some issues?
Latest Update - what kernel is compatible
Hi there I'm curious what kernel works wittehe latest Chroma update as well as any additional files needed for f2fs. Thanks!
Btw best and quickest ROM I've used to date love the minimal GApps and overall speed/mem usage
I didnt found where to post it properly, so...
I found a bug in AOSP keyboard. When you try to change language, it force closes. Sometimes it closes when you open keyboard, sometimes it dont. I tried to use layers, completly same resoult. The ony modification i use is RRO Layers. Logcat present.
Hope you provide fix soon.
WOW
I think this is the best
Sick of damn crap memory leak on my galaxy note4 lollipop(5.0.1) + touchwiz crap
i found this rom is super awesome managing ram
system ram only 250~300mb!!!! wow!!!
now i installed about 200+ of 3rd party apps, many of them can stay alive, and i can load them very fast whenever i want!
I want to install this ROM but I'm unable or perhaps unwilling to give up the ElementalX app that was pulled from play store. So here's my problem. After I install ROM I try and restore ElemX app via TiBu it says I didn't purchase it. I know this isn't a problem with the ROM but perhaps someone knows a workaround.

this rom overclocked by cpu at 1. 7 ghz, is it okay to overclock. and xposed 5. 1 unofficial isn't working. I flashed it but got bootlop...
I have too few posts to post in the main thread, but just wanted to say thank you for this ROM. Finally a fully stable, fast, and up-to-date ROM that has everything functioning and adds only the extras that I also consider essential such as AppOps/Privacy Guard and power menu.
Great job.
The ONLY issue I've found on my Nexus 7-2013 seems related to the Franco Kernel and not your ROM exactly. The included kernel works with all Camera/USB-OTG/GPS/Wifi, but if you update to the latest R21 release with the Franco Updater app, it will cause the camera to be unable to connect.
I'm currently using the ElementalX-4 kernel instead and it seems fully compatible, and all devices including the Camera work.
Thanks again.

Very nice ROM
Using it for few weeks and love it. Very stable, tried different layers and looks great. Thank you for a wonderful job and hope the updates will be coming, even though it's been discontinued

No issues for me. Great work!
Also having issues with media control option.
i still got that home-button glitch
read quite some posting about it, but could not ind out if it was solved or if it will vanish with a new rom.....i am on the latest for n7
I'm having an issue with screen rotation. I can get it to landscape at all. Also it doesn't look like my brightness slider works at all either.
Any ideas?

Hello, really love the Rom. Just updated to the new version, fresh clean flash. Everything is running really smooth so far. Have a quick question about the settings menu, maybe I'm missing something but has the expanded desktop option been removed. I need the option to play clash of clans in full screen on my second user account. Any help is greatly appreciated
Latest build running great.

J2 Prime ROM almost here (Xtreme Ultimate), need requests! (G532 M/F/G/MT)

Hi,
As users from theTelegram and Whatsapp group know, a team of people have been working on a custom ROM based on stock where we are trying to incorporate a few mods to make this phone a bit more custom (hence the custom ROM name xD)
So far we've given users from those groups a few BETAs to test, we are currently in BETA 2.0 (which have a few bugs that will soon be eliminated) and are now in a stage where we want to add a few more mods before releasing BETA 3.0
With that said, I would like to know based on J2 Prime users feedback which of these mods interests you the most:
Mods for Samsung Marshmallow 6.0.1
So we can start working on them and try to add them to BETA 3 before release
It will be good practice for us and we can give back to you users that have been suffering with this crappy device xD
Let me know via this thread and I will update the list of what mods are planned
So far, here is what we have planned to add:
Edge Screen
Scroll Capture
Screen Record/Screenshot on Power Menu
Nougat UI
All quicksettings by swiping down from the right corner
Volume button to skip music
Suggestions are welcome
Dude that volume button to skip music would be awesome:good:
Goodluck bro...
Would love most if those ideas

V30 Users - ROM / Build / Variant / Mods / Apps Pros and Cons Discussion

If you would all be so kind as to follow this format:.

I'm most likely undereducated here but I have never seen reason to try/use a custom ROM. The great folks here on XDA are always quick to publish the latest tweaks and updates, so I feel like my device is as good as it's going to get. But, I'm hoping I'm wrong.
So that is why I am starting this discussion. Maybe your feedback and opinions will get me and any other user lacking ROM knowledge to convert.
Or maybe we will discover some fun difference in Variants and find a way to Port it over to all devices. No matter what, I think it would be useful to see what everyone is running on their device on a typical day. It may even help other development just to see what the average user is using.

So far we only have one person using a custom ROM. I'm surprised, I thought everyone used one them except me.
Any users or non users have opinions on why or why you don't use ROMs?
Anyone using custom Kernels?
Like ROMs, Kernels are another popular mod I personally don't use, but people seem pretty into modifying them/upgrading them, so I'm going to add that field to the original posts now as its prob worth a discussion too...

Custom ROMs currently do not have LG's DTS 3D Stereo -- but mostly because with my current job, I can't risk stuff like this:

This rom works great!!!! There's only one problem... I can't get incoming calls and incoming texts (for the most part)... Some texts come in at around a 40 second delay. Is this a normal bug or something no one has ever heard before?

Just a random comment pulled off bottom of a ROM thread before replying to this question. On my previous phone (Moto Quark) I ran stable custom ROMs all the time -- especially Resurrection Remix. For 3 years never ran stock, once we got custom ROMs.
I even kept a thread going with all the Moto Quark (Droid Turbo/Moto Turbo/Moto Maxx) custom ROMs available-- because we were spread over two different XDA forums. (Sort of like how the LG V30S has its own XDA forum for no reason?) But both Quark forums were active, but all CM/Lineage ROMs were compatible with all variants). Over there, I was the ROM expert. . I flashed ROMs all the time on my and my wife's phones.
But on this V30+, I'm running rooted stock firmware with Magisk mods, Xposed modules and build prop edits.
Also, I like the Quad DAC and I LOVE the new DTS 3D Stereo, which custom ROMs don't have yet (DTS is what I'm talking about)... to my knowledge.
That's no disrespect to any of the custom devs in this forum. It's just personally, I just can't risk my phone not working with my current job -- and rooted stock firmware with mods gives me what I need. You asked, so I answered.
Current Variant/Carrier: H930ds/Airtel

Custom or modified kernel: -
Additional Features:change custom animations of everything, change recents menu, statusbar customizations..
Missing / Broken Features: cts profile not passed, have to do that manually to make gpay work.
Overall Likes: smoother than stock, somehow screen looks better on aosp than stock.less stutters compared to stock
Overall Dislikes: battery life is a little worse than stock, miss our camera, a few apps work stuttery like tinder, low speaker volume!!!
Custom Modifications:
Theme(s): -
Magisk Modules: Magisk hide props, anxious v30 module, rboard themes
Xposed Modules: -
Must have Apps: UAPP
Note- one of the best in terms of features , most loved features are the launcher which let's u do a lot !! And u can get those extra steps of volume which is there on stock when u turn on HiFi !! Other roms are missing those..

I use VS996 stock rooted because it gives me everything I need. Sure, it's not Pie, but who cares? I don't get the obsession with getting the latest OS level, because you can usually get all those features via apps if you really want them... particularly if you're rooted. Yes, I know some lower-level things are not there... but it's not that big of a deal.
Longer rant - this is why I can't buy the "fragmentation" complaint from iOS people. On iOS you HAVE to upgrade the OS to get many newer features, because that's how Apple does it. In Android, you can get most (if not all) of those features with just apps... the OS is not a factor. For example, Siri came out and immediately was not available on the previous gen phone... because it required a special chip or some other such nonsense. Meanwhile, Google Now (predecessor to Assistant) was available to previous OSes without issue...
Anyway, beyond that, I also stick to stock because I get VOLTE on VS996 with my Verizon MVNO (Total Wireless)... other ROMs haven't figured out Verizon's VOLTE from what I read.
And, as ChazzMatt said, he needs a working phone, as do I... I don't have time to troubleshoot or deal with lack of voice, lack of calls, etc.
I did do a lot of ROMming in the past on my Galaxy S3 and previous phones, but it was always a challenge keeping it running. Tweaks were a constant game, and it just was a lot more work than I cared to do. With stock rooted, things work well, and the plethora of app solutions for minor features (or even Magisk/root mods) make pretty much everything available... so I don't bother anymore. My previous Droid Turbo phone is still working on stock rooted, and works pretty well (heavy things chew out the battery, and the battery is 4 years old... but if I can run it for 4 years, that's a good deal). Heck, my Galaxy S3s are still used occasionally as video cameras to monitor our cats...
I ask you, why bother with a ROM? What's missing?
No offense to our ROM makers... they are doing an awesome job. Frankly, without them and their experimentation, we wouldn't have the options we have anyway. This level of experimentation is important, and I'm glad it exists... it's just not for me...
@ChazzMatt I'm glad you jumped in here. I was really curious to hear what you were running since you're so active in the V30 dev boards and have contributed so much to the community.
Honestly I'd probably have a bricked device if not for you and a couple other devs on here.
If you find a ROM down the road that works for you, please let me know as I'm kinda in the same boat you are when it comes to needing a stable everyday driver.
Thanks for adding your two cents.
Stock rom has the amazing camera and it's features , more steps in volume control !! Now with ozop animations it's even more fun to play with..
Vs
Custom roms- more fluid and better animations , less lag ,can't get this on stock ...
For me the screen looks better somehow in custom ones, maybe the caliberation..
Glad the dac still works.. Google camera can make up for clicking pics.. gonna miss the video capabilities..
There are always minor issues like fingerprint sensor sometimes doesn't work, few app crashes.. on the upside most apps work better smoother on custom roms since it's stock based
It definitely demands a try.. really thank all the developers , I request those who are leaving to come back, your demands will be met ?..
I've decided to use custom roms as daily drivers and stock only when I go out on vacations for the camera capabilities.. now that switching is much simpler with migrate , it's all possible and less cumbersome..

I'm still new to this phone. What's this 'ozop animation'?
Sent from my LG-US998 using Tapatalk
Its a zip flashable in twrp used to change system animations, pretty dope..
Works flawlessly.. But there's a possibility of soft bricking your phone.. Mine went down twice.. Maybe cos i reflashed it to change the animations without first uninstalling it.
Superior OS
model- H930ds, airtel sim,india.
Rom- Superior OS with the kernel mentioned in the forum!
Goodies-many customizations- look at the screenshots below.
Note- I think with the kernel the speaker volume has increased!! Battery is average with greenify, more or less like stock oreo. The dev maintaining the rom is pretty active and helpful!
bad- problem with the navbar, back button only works if i tap it twice so i had to use built in one plus gestures. When i have my earphones on and i text a message on whatsapp , magically the volume suddenly increases as if the Dac is on at full power!! i have to unplug and replug them to save my ears. The same happens if a song is paused and theres a phone call, volume of thats gonna one day damage my ear drums pretty bad..
Suggestions- same as my previous rom review. AND USE THIS GCAM- https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gca...jGE8qLGOpTKkcxN_7B0juXg1J6Msg7MRNITNEOhYqsFzg
been my daily driver for a week now.
so far so good..
Original Variant/Carrier: China Frankensteined V300L on a VS996
Current Variant/Carrier: V300S
Name of Custom ROM (link if you can): None. Rooted stock.
Custom or modified kernel: None. Yet.
Additional Features: None yet.
Missing / Broken Features: No more OTA update from LG
Overall Likes: The ultra wide. Sole reason I got LG phones. And this fone keeps it at a good 120 instead of the newer Gs & Vs 107.
Being a photographer, I don't understand the bokeh craze. EVERYTHING should be in a photo not just a person or some random object. Wide angle changes everything when it comes to mobile photography. Telephoto.. psshhh.. We got feet for a reason.
Overall Dislikes: No IR!!! Damn you LG!
Custom Modifications: Magisk root. More to come.
Theme(s): Coming soon.
Magisk Modules: Coming soon.
Xposed Modules: Never really bothered with xposed aside from using it to join the PoGo craze a years back
Must have Apps: ES File pro to get around the phone, Titanium Backup to debloat.
Must have accessory: Soon to arrive wireless charging dock and a silicone case for the back. Don't think I'll bother with SPs. My G5 lasted a good 3 years without one and is still scratch free.
I've not had the time to fiddle with phone too much. Just got it like yesterday and flashed it the same night after finding out it was already frankensteined. Might as well no?
Original Variant/Carrier: HK H930DS
Current Variant/Carrier: H930
ROM: Stock OPEN EU 21w
Custom or modified kernel: none
Additional Features: Magisk, stock DTS, stock additional weather animations
Missing / Broken Features: IR blaster, LG UI (yes it's a broken feature !), faulty headphone jack after 5 months, stock amoled dark theme
Overall Likes: Almost everything. Smooth, sufficient battery life, great screen, perfect size, no notch, wide angle, quad DAC, DTS (even it's not as cool as the universal port), SD card availability, 128GB internal storage, small useful features... I enjoy using my v30 every day !
Overall Dislikes: why no IR blaster ? And the button dance to get to recovery is perfectly silly. I would like to use custom ROMs (old Redmi note 3 user here, MIUI ditched directly after bootloader unlock and stock used from nougat to pie) but it still lacks too much stock features for me (hi-res/loud recording, stock camera, overall stability)
Custom Modifications: LG stock apps aren't as satisfying as Google's, so I froze most of them and use Google dialer, messages etc. Lastest lawnchair alpha installed and used too.
Theme(s): Swift black theme, pretty satisfying combined with the lg g7 black theme found on playstore. I just deactivated the System UI part, it keeps white notifications but it's ok. I couldn't change of system accent so I matched it with the swift black app.
Magisk Modules: ADB & fastboot, busybox, FDroid privileged, Google Dialer Framework, MagiskHide props config, safety patch, universal GMS doze, YouTube Vanced... And more to come : LKT or NFS-Injector or fde.ai (still needs to identify which one is the best and if it's really useful), ainur sauron + jamesdsp + aml (I always have problems with audio mods setup with this phone)
Xposed Modules: none
Must have Apps: MiX, PowerAmp, SD Maid, Link2SD, Greenify aaaaand XDA Labs
Must have accessory: a 128GB SD card for tons of music !!!
Coming next: I have to fix my damn headphone jack. Ihope scratching it from the inside will be enough... Otherwise I'd have to call EU warranty on a HK imported model, which isn't exactly a good idea. A custom toggle in quick settings for location (high/low accuracy) would also be nice. I would also like to write down in one place in this forum all the 'differences' between all the v30 variants and state clearly for all new users which one is compatible with the other.
