[Q&A] ASUS Fonepad 7 K00E ME372CG - looking for correct files for xFSTK - Asus Fonepad 7

Please, where can I find ME372CG files for xFSTK?
I want to restore bootloader of my ME372CG tablet.
I follow these instructions, which are for FE170CG:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/asus-fonpad-7-fe170cg-bricked-stuck-t3740819
But I did not find ME372CG files for xFSTK.
So I took them from official Asus ME372CG firmware (from UL-K00E-WW-7.6.0.0-user.zip).
I found different file names in ifwi folder and I am not sure, which to use fo xFSTK:
dnx_fwr_ctp_???.bin
ifwi_ctp_???.bin
CLVP_CSAB_FWR_DnX_20.29.bin
ME372CG_32_IFWI_v54.57_CSAB_PROD.bin
I could not find any Softfuse file either.
Most probably I do not have the correct files, because xFSTK download does not work.
The file names, which I used, and the result from xFSTK can be found here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/cz8imzdrs1r551r/xFSTK_ME372CG files.JPG?dl=0
Where can I find the correct files for xFSTK?
Thank you very much.
Greetings from Slovakia
Juraj

Cause of malfunction:
My tablet reported some kind of UI error, so I restarted it (still within Android),
but it never started again. It just vibrates when switching on, always black screen (only almost unnoticeable flash of light on LCD, during switching on). The battery is full - I measured it.

Use this file, run as Administrator ME372CG Debrick.bat and connect your device.
https://gofile.io/d/P6Ja57
After that flash this raw file with asus flash tool and make sure to select right model name.

Hi, I received some suggestions from Teddy, but it did not work for me.
(I re-uploaded the files to Dropbox, so the links should work):
1. Download this zip: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1s5i85hd22yqlct/CSC_ME372CG_Debrick.7z?dl=0
2. Extract with 7-zip on your Desktop
3. Open extracted CSC_ME372CG_Debrick file ---> Right click on ME372CG Debrick.bat left click on Run as Administrator. And it should look like this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/e3yulpxt70rn6ly/non-Administrator ME372CG Debrick.bat.png?dl=0
If that doesn't show up install this minimal adb and fastboot command
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zgr1ljdm13owlrs/minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.4.1_setup.exe?dl=0
Here is tutorial how to install:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
4. If the tool doesn't recognise your device press VOL + or VOl - and connect your device with pc while you are holding one of volume buttons.....
===
After I informed Teddy that it does not work for me,
he suggested this:
See this tutorial for another device to get the point, reinstall drivers and try again debrick files. Softfuse file I can't find for your device but with debrick.bat is trick for seconds I thing to get recognized to start flashing partition and firmware....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuD39TjQJGo
or buy package and download files for XFSTK.
https://easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=100391
(I have not bought those xFSTK files yet, but I will try it later this week and let you know.)

I tried that but it didn't work. Actually it's because we lost fastboot and droidboot.
About those xFSTK files, we can acquire them from rom (zip/raw). there is a zip file called "ifwi.zip" in the rom package.
I follow this tutorial to debrick it but I didn't make it:crying:

Rooting LG H735 G4 Beat

hi, tried to search everywhere but to no avail soo far.. does anyone knows if there is an existing root guide for LG G4 Beat? its sort of a diff model but there's no sub for it so i guess ill put it at here since its still under G4 family.. :/
Do you have Android 5.0 or 5.1 installed?
First of all. Before you start to try root, download the kdz file for your phone.
The kdz is needed if something went wrong (e.g. phone not booting).
You can use the LG Flash Tool to flash the kdz to a bricked phone.
Use this link with your IMEI:
Code:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI
If it works, please post the download link for the "kdz".
Or better post the output too, but delete your IMEI!
Your link will only work if you type:
csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=
and then add the rest of your url instead of the given link.
It's worth trying. You need to get a partition layout. Then @autoprime will give a full command to run in DL mode for dumping the system image, and flashing it once it's been injected with root. I can inject it for you once you have the system.img dump.
I wrote an guide how you can extract the GPT and calculate the dd parameters:
[How to] Determine dd Parameters For All LG G4 Models
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/h...lg-g4-t3184867
Do you know how to work with linux?
Please post the outputs of gdisk into a HIDE and CODE tag. Thank you.
Maybe you are a advanced user and can Inject root yourself with the autoroot.sh method (Inject_Root_G4.zip)?
Or do you need help?
I think you have Android 5.1.1 installed, so it is not possible to use Kingroot to root your device. Is that right?

Pleasure.
I think some people also knew how to do it, but no one wanted to write a guide.
AND ALWAYS CONSIDER:
You can brick your phone if you don't know what you are doing.
Backup your files before you change anything.
i think i got the link for the KDZ.. but when i

would be nice if theres a step by step guide cuz last phone i tired rooting was prolly galaxy tab and it was wayy easier :/
Ok, well done. Is 10b the same version as currently installed on your device?
Some other details would be interesting:
Do you have an unbranded device?
Where did you buy it / where do you live? (country)
Are you an advanced user? Do you know how to work with linux?
The next steps will be:
Calculate your dd parameters and backup your system partition into a img file. Read my guide:
[How to] Determine dd Parameters For All LG G4 Models
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/h...lg-g4-t3184867
Please post the outputs of gdisk into a HIDE and CODE tag.
Post your calculated dd parameters, so that we can verify it.
IMPORTANT: Keep the original (unchanged) system.img on your computer (zip it).
Then:
Copy the img file to a linux system and mount it. Create a testfile (test.txt) on the mounted system partition.
Copy the img file back to your phone and try to "dd" it back over your system partition.
Check if you see the testfile on your system partition.
If that worked you have successfully overwritten your system partition.
Then:
Try to inject root with the Inject_Root_G4.zip on your linux system.
Copy the new img file to your phone and "dd" it over your system partition.
Please ask if you are not 100% sure what to do.
You are responsible for what you are doing with your device.
Backup all your data (photos, videos, messages...) before going one step further.

what do u mean 10b?
not really unbranded i guess? its a mid-tier version of the LG G4.. this is the phone.. http://www.lg.com/sg/mobile-phones/lg-G4-Beat
dont think its out at the US yet
bought it at Singapore as i recontacted my phone
nope i dont know how to use linux and im %100 not sure what to do :crying:
Ok so you are not a advanced user?
10b is the version of the kdz file. Goto Settings->Phone info->software version on your phone and post your software version.
First of all: It is not possible to root your phone without linux!
You don't have to install a linux on your computer (physically) but at least in an virtual environment (virtualbox, vmware player) or as a live distribution.
What you can do without linux is try to extract the GPT.
Which OS is installed on your computer (Win 7, 8, 10)?
Download the LG_Root.zip from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
It contains the Send_Command.exe
You need this tool to open a special console when your phone is in download mode.
Do you know this tool and how to enter the download mode?

no im not an advanced user..
its software version is : V10b-SEA-XX
so i guess its a 10b?
im using windows 7 right now
Yes you have 10b installed now.
The XX means that it is unbranded.
SEA means southeast asia.
Win 7 is fine. Send_Command will work.
Download the zip from the above-mentioned thread.
Then:
Power off your device
When the device is powered off, hold volume up and insert a USB cable connected to the PC
Wait for the drivers to install

No you don't need developer mode.
But it is no problem if you enabled it.

Update: it says NOTE: Do not attempt this on devices with 5.1.1 , at the time this method was posted it worked on many firmware 5.0.2 should i still go for it? im using 5.1.1
We won't follow the guide. We will do it like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
(You will also find the thread is linked there.)
The thread is just a good help for the Send_Command tool.
You don't have to change the COM port.
Are you in download mode? Do you see the "Firmware Update" screen?
Use the ports.bat and note the "netdiag" COM port.
Inside of LG_Root folder hold shift and right click a blank space you should see "Open command window here"
Click to collapse
Then enter:
Code:
Send_Command.exe \\.\COM#
Replace # with your number.

oh okay means im on the right path..
so now i just do this as follows?
Type "id" and press enter (no quotes).
You should get back some text starting with "uid=(0)root gid=(0)root". If not, press CTRL-C, and do step 9 again (the application sometimes doesn't respond on the first command).
Run the command specified in the section below titled 'Commands to Run' to flash the rooted system image.
After a few minutes of sitting, you should get back a "#" prompt. This indicates the process has finished.
Type "LEAVE" (no quotes) and press enter. Your phone should reboot, and your phone will be rooted.

[FIX][GUIDE] Marshmallow + AutoRec Hard Brick

Hello everybody, so I noticed a lot of people struggling with marshmallow + autorec hard bricks (symptoms: no download mode, no recovery, black screen)
Just to make sure: I'm not responsible for any damages done. This worked for me perfectly, should work for you too. Use it only if you bricked D855 30B!!! (Marshmallow)
Here's what you have to do to fix that:
First follow this amazing guide by senior member l33tlinuxh4x0r, big thanks to him. ---> LINK TO GUIDE
Important stuff: You need to install qualcomm drivers (windows 8, 10 users need to disable driver signature enforcement), you need to short the circuit of your phone, like it's shown in that guide, by shorting it correctly and plugging it in you immediately get connection (keep note of that, there's no need to wait for something, no sound - redo.)
Instead of extracting tot, like it's shown there, use attached files (target Dir). Then again, flash them like it's shown in the tutorial. You should be good to go.

I've the same problem as you describe here. After I upgraded g3 to marshmallow I applied autorec and my device became hard brick.now my phone under com ports as Qualcomm 9008.
from this point I'm confused that which way to go the first your description 'Instead of extracting tot, like it's shown there, use attached files (target Dir)', Then again, flash them like it's shown in the tutorial'',the second tot file of the rom that we were running. (not older not newer same version). The first way I did not understand attached files where are they ?
if I follow the second way how can I find tot of my rom D855 30B!!! (Marshmallow)?
thank you waiting your help
Instead of tot you use the files from the download link in my post since you don't need to extract tot now, just mark that folder in "target dir" and follow the second guilde, as you call it. Good luck!

Maybe someone can reupload? I messed up and didn't save it in my computer, didn't think I'd need it anymore. Oops.. Or create them yourself
You need do extract .kdz, then .dz,
use this guide to create partition.txt
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/how-to-create-partition-txt-file-kdz-t3109859
and rename files to ****.mbn
i just had my phone back to normal after marshmallow autorec brick
Get the right tools from scamex only..
U going to need :
Qdloader hs-usb driver for your pc 32/64bit
Install it
Then get smart boot diagnostic tool
Along that also get ap-chip dll and att
Then extract it the ap folder inside smart boot diagnostic tool
Get document to shows how to flash a "dead boot"
Then run thr smart boot diagnostic tool
Then follow instruction from the document and pay attention on page 14, 15 & 16
After recovering qfprom anti-roolback issue.
Your phone should be back to normal as before the autorec root hardbrick

Still the case.
Could anyone help, please?
I found a guide to create "partition.txt" (maybe a copy the original guide here) but that's for the G2.
Any help is greatly appreciated :crying:

hello, if there is no juice, you can try to do as I did to my D855, I think it is the same, you will need to open your device and make a trick to go to downlaod mode.
IT is very esay that I put my LG G3 in download mode in 3minutes.
---------- Post added at 02:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:08 AM ----------
just go with this guide , it is good.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359
I did like it said and I got my phone repaired.
But, in step 8, I suggest you to not flash all stuff, because I think It is not necessary, I am pretty sure this was my cause to have the message : "Can't find matched cust for NT-code mcc/mnc"
I hard bricked my phone a second time, but instead of doing step 8 like he says. I just Made SDRAM test also and start. it will flash necessary stuff and reboot phone automatically.
To make a summary of what you need to do:
-- first put your windows in test mode if you have windows 64bits and install drivers
1-put your phone in download mode (screen off and without battery-sort of emergency download mode)
2-run boarddiag by willcracker and extract your Bin file in a folder.
3-choose port and choose folder
4-run the AP check and EMMC test
5-Run AP check, Emmc test and SDRAM test
6-phone will reboot
7-put him in download mode and flash you tot file
Done!

first, just skip steps 8 and 9 and replace it with:
it is a little bit mixed up but this is what he wanted to say:
6- choose port and folder where you extracted TOT file.
7- Check "AP" and "EMMC" and press start
here you finished with the link.
8+9- you need to Check "AP" and "EMMC" and SDRAM , click Start.
10-flash you phone with LGUP using Refurbish and choosing the tot file. (I prefer LG UP)

[Help] LG G4 H815 LGUP failure

Hello!
I tried to update my Vodafone Branded G4 with the europe not branded version H81520g_00_0720.kdz
The problem ist i just get "error code = 0x2000, invalid command response" from the LGUP software and everytime i start the phone it is in firmware update mode.
Any idea how to fix this?
Greetings
I got this too as I tried to install H81520o_00_0310.kdz then I thought that it is maybe related to the brand. So I download your kdz file and then it was working.
So I would guess try another number is the best what you can do. I believe it is because of selection of "upgrade". If you have a tot file for refurbish, then maybe another is working, but I didn't do this yet.
Probably the problem is the DLL.
Extract the DLL from the KDZ (the one you want to flash) and replace it with the one you have in LGUP (path; C:/Program files/LG Electronics/LGUP/Model/8992).

Hi,
I have LG H811 (T-Mobile) Variant. I receive error from LGUP everytime I try to flash this ROM=h81120x_00_1108.kdz

The error is thrown at 9%
Nothing working for me I am very frustrated!!!
PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!
Stuck with LG G4 (H81520i)
Same for me but with LG H81520i. I tried to flash these ROM* with their specific .dll that I extracted thanks to WindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.5.0-Release. Always get "error code = 0x2000, invalid command response" from LGUP. The error is thrown at 16% on the computer, but at 7% on the phone. Now, I'm stuck in download mode. I also tried to change the COM port number, doesn't change anything.
*Europe General H81510B_00.kdz ; Europe OPEN H81510D.kdz ; H81510D_00.kdz ; H81520i_00_0922.kdz ; SEA H81510B.kdz
Only one ROM above matches the LG H81520i (the fourth one).
Informations about my (ex-)android firmware :
- Android version : 6.0 (Marshmallow)
- Kernel version : 3.10.84
- Software version : V20-SEA-XX
PS : H81520i is what is written on the LGUP software

I found a solution (after several hours)
Uninstall all your LG softwares (except LG Bridge or others LG backup softwares) and go to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\' to delete all folders and files.
Go to this link and click on "Download all". Extract the file and follow the instructions :
1) Install "LGMobileSupportTool.exe"
2) Install "LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.2.0.exe"
3) Install "LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3.msi"
4) Install "LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_3_23.msi"
5) Move "LGUP_8994.dll" in the repertory 'C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\8994'
6) Open "LGMobile Support Tool" and click on "Install USB driver." to the left
7) Select "LGH815" (or your model) et follow the drivers installation steps
8) Do step 5) again
9) Shut off your LG and plug it to your computer while pressing volume up in order to enter download mode
10) Unplug your LG and the battery
11) Open "LGUP" and close it
12) Do step 9 again (download mode)
13) Open "LGUP", select "UPGRADE" and go select your .kdz file (the ones in the file that you downloaded or another one you have)
14) Click on "Start" and DON'T TOUCH !!!!!!

You first start your phone with any sim or sd card?
Try to flash it again with the v20p and restart it without any card on it.
If it doesn't solve the problem, try a v10a. Maybe it works and you can upgrade starting from there.
Good luck!
now again I tried H815v29A so it installed after the installation of old original version , now please tell the method of rooting Nougat on H815v29A urgently XDA experts???
also Twrp not installing on H815v29A which was working on marshmallow/////

10+ eXYNOS BOOTLOADER REMOVED

First of all I want to thank @zogu without him, this guide would not be possible, This guide is for phones with Hard Brick, where the bootloader is destroyed and there are no tools that recognize the phone as odin
When you connect phones without a bootloader, Windows detects them as exynos9820 in device manager.
All of this is accomplished by trial / error method
I repaired my g975f and I have U3 and U8 files only for this model, but I will try to explain how to prepare files for any other model.
We have to use the same bootloader version that was previously on the phone, or if you're not sure, use the latest sboot.bin.
Plug in the phone and press and hold the power button.
Windows will detect the exynos9820 device, install the driver:
click manually,
com and lpt ports,
select the Driver Exynos USB Mode folder
Now we have to copy
WinDNWApi.dll
in:
C: \ Program Files \ Samsung \ Exynos USB Driver \ Drivers
There probably isn't this folder, just create it and copy the files.
Now we have to create the boot files.
Using lz4 1.9.2 we can unzip the sboot.bin.lz4 to sboot.bin and then be able to edit it, everything is explained in a guide inside the file
Download the last sboot.bin that was on your device
Now you have to extract the partitions from this file
In some hex editor, create 4 files and extract from sboot.bin
0x3000 is BL1 name> bl1
0x3000 ... 0x17000 is epbl
0x17000 ... 0x68000 is BL2

Dram_training do not need to be cut, it is not used in flashing
0x244000 ... 0x1BD000 is el3mon dram
Launch multiuploader.exe
Plug in the phone and press and hold the power button.
Search and find script.cfg
click start and the phone will go into odin mode.
Start odin and flash the firmware (in case of having split the stock rom sboot) or Combination (in case of having split the combination sboot)
the z-zip tool must be downloaded

Find the exact firmware that’s currently in the device, extract sboot from the firmware. You need to find correct location of bl1 bl2 el3 and others, names correspond to which is cut. You need 5 files from sboot. Am stuck on the forth file failing and I still don’t understand how to find them. What I did was follow others with exactly the same problem to see and understand how they got there’s and then tried it on my sboot. I am failing on part4 don’t even know how to make a cfg but from what I understand e for exynos and the number after so mine is e7885. Still not sure like I said

In some hex editor, create 4 files and extract from sboot.bin

Can you check the addresses and lenghts of the partitions cut out of sboot?
I think you've made a mistake.
Can give me the precise partition details?
Are you 100% positive that this is valid at least for most devices of the same chipset?
I'd like to try to make an automated script or a tool of some sort.
Also when I was dividing my A515F U5 sboot I've spotted some long breaks in data which I assumed were empty blocks at the end of partitions.
What confused me about it is that I didn't find those where you said partitions are ending.
Can you demonstrate graphically your partitions in a linear projection?
It’s been 3 years and still can’t get help with A750G hard brick. I guess XDA is not so friendly and helpful anymore.
The world is slowly dying. Peace to everyone who still cares
