Bricked after using hisuite: fixed! (no unlock needed) - Honor 8X Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi,
i had my honor 8x (64gb/4gb) [JSN-AL00a] run on android 8. (latest update within settings)
I decided to give it a try and installed hisuite on my pc.
Everything seemed to go well.
Right after the update it gave me a bootloop. And the message, that i had loaded another operating system.
No unlocked bootloader nor FPR disabled. So fastboot tells me "command not allowed".
Huawei multi tool tells me i got a JSN-L22 device now.
Any way to get my phone back to life?
I tried many different (AL00, L21, L22 etc) extracted OTA Updates (mostly about 3-5GB each.
Put the updates UPDATE.APP in "dload" on my sdcard but it keeps saying "update failed" when i go to download mode +/- pressed at the same time)
Thanks for your help!
Update :
To recover do the following:
- put phone to fastboot (connect to pc, reboot pressing volume down)
- open huawei multi tool
- read current version (regioncode c636, model l22)
- get matching full firmwarearchive (android 9)
- put archive as is to folder "dload" on usb drive (max. 8gb, fat32)
- reboot phone to download mode (press vol up and down while power on)
- connect usb otg adapter with flashdrive
- wait for update to finish
- install latest android 9 with ota update on phone
- put in simcard, reboot phone
- wait for notification about android 10)
- update
- enjoy!

[ROOT] Asus FonePad 7 / K00E / ME372CG More detailed for chinese bring google back

I have an ASUS Fonepad 7 ME372CG (Real name is K00E) with CN SKU.
the reason to flash my K00E is that it’s a Chinese (Not HongKong or Taiwan) version.
Chinese GOV is so evil that cut and block all Google staff in all Chinese Android phones. and make it very hard to install Google Back.
I’ve tried all kinds of method to install google apps on my CN K00E and bricked it.
After a few days of search. I’ve found a way to flash this CN K00E (without Google) to WW K00E (With google) and rooted.
========Here is how=========
------Things you will need ------
1. Download ASUS ZIP ROM here
http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=ASUS+Fonepad+7
ASUS Fonepad 7 (ME372CG) Software Image Version: WW_V7.4.1 (Android 5.0) For WW SKU only
THIS ZIP file can’t be flashed when your phone is bricked. This ZIP file is for system update when your system is still alive.
2. Download ASUS RAW ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2709256
Choose the version match your ZIP ROM
THIS RAW file can be flashed when your device is bricked. (except your boot loader should work)
3. Get a MicroSD card with 8GB or more space.
4. Download this Intel Tethered Temp Recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
IntelAndroid-FBRL-07-24-2015.7z
5. Setup your PC with ADB and Fastboot
6. Install Intel Android USB Driver into your windows
7. Download the root manager app with can be flashed into your phone later from
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/
———STEPs-----
——Phase 1 Flash your K00E to WW version or you can use this Phase to unbrick your phone or just for upgrade to latest rom----
—— SKIP this if you have a NON-Chinese or Alive Phone-----
ASUS may tell you that you should flash the ROM with same SKU match your device SKU
but you still have a chance to flash a different SKU ROM and it may work!
I’ve tested WW SKU ROM on my CN SKU Device. it worked.
1.Unzip the ZIP rom from ASUS you will get 2 img files in the rom
droidboot.img for fastboot and boot.img for boot
2. connect the usb cable to the phone. switch off the phone.
3. copy the raw ROM file to the root of the MicroSD Card. and insert into the phone.
4. Power UP the phone with vol up pressed Down to enter fastboot/droidboot mode.
5. issue command from PC
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
6. phone will reboot by your last command
7. Choose "SD Download"
8. Wait 15 - 20 Minutes
9. Now you have a NON-Chinese Phone with Google with latest version ASUS could provide just like a normal android phone.
—— Phase 2 ROOT the Phone with Android 5.0 ----
1. Put your root app (zip file) into your root folder of the SDCard or External SDCard.
2..Reboot the phone with Vol UP pressed. and boot into the fastboot mode.
3. Connect PC and Launch the Tethered Temp Recovery you just downloaded before.
4. Type ACCEPT (UP Case), choose 5 (CWM), them choose T2
5. wait about 10 seconds your CMW Recovery should be launched upside down
6. choose update zip from SDCARD and choose the file you just put in.
7. flash it reboot and enjoy.
Will try this, thanks ?

UPDATE TO THE MOST RECENT VERSIONS NUGAT AND OREO
FLASHING METHOD
Hello with all, I introduce myself I am catuv21 I enter this beautiful community and I have made roms for the huawei P9lite 2016, today I will leave these works for this great terminal Huawei P10lite thanks to a community of technicians that having seen my work for Pllite, they sent me a P10lite bluish, to which I am grateful and will be presenting works in this community, such as roms MidgarD (modified cover stock), MorfuZ (based on kangvip), and others.

- If you are not sure, do not make any changes and you can leave this forum:confused::confused:.
- This method uses a modified stock recovery that does not verify the files.
- It serves to update firmware, as well as update to Oreo, but not to do Downgrade Nougat.
- also serves to perform rebrand changing cust.
- make copies of data and applications.
- I will not explain how to unlock the bootloader and install twrp, there are many tutorials.
- with this method the bootloader will be blocked again.
EXPERIENCE
- my compilation was WAS-LX3C605B172 and update to WAS-LX3C605B186 (demo video)
- being in WAS-LX3C605B186 I changed from cust REBRAND, to compilation WAS-LX1C432B208 (demo video)
- finally being in WAS-LX1C432B208 UPDATE FLASH WAS-LX1C432B321 (8.0.0.321) (demo video)

PROCESS.
FLASH UPDATE
- unzip the file HWOTA.zip
- download the firmware of your compilation (settings / about the phone)
- the firmware is three files in the update.zip, update_data_full_public.zip and update_full_XX-LXX_hw_xx
- the latter "update_full_XX-LXX_hw_xx" there are usually several L21, L01, etc. just download one and it will depend on the cell model.
- If there are not three, it does not work.
- Rename the firmware as follows : update.zip, update_data_public.zip, update_all_hw.zip
- copy and paste the renamed files into the "HWOTA" directory.
- the HWOTA folder, copy and paste in the external memory.
- turn off the cell phone and boot in recovery twrp.
- change to external memory.
- find the HWOTA folder and flash the OTA_catuva21.zip file

- and start updating let it finish
- if for some reason it remains on the black screen, or sticks to the huawei logo
- perform hard reset (press the volume more and power, and perform both wipes)
- CONGRATULATIONS UPDATE YOUR ANDROID.
REBRAND
- unzip the file HWOTA.zip
- download the "WAS-L ... C ... oeminfo.zip" (it's a flasheable file)
- download the firmware, this depends on the brand you want to change "WAS-L ... C ... oeminfo.zip"

You need to enter the different boot menus (mainly factory data reset menu and fastboot menu) many times, so I just have notes here on the top of how it should happen
- Download mode
How to enter : Device power is off, hold volume up -> insert usb cable -> should go to download mode
- Factory data reset menu
Hold Power button and volume down button when boot starts. After some seconds (when phone vibrates or LG logo is visible) let go of power button for 1 second, and then click power button. (This caused me the most headaches, as if I were holding the buttons for too long, the device would cut power and reboot)
fastboot mode
- when device is shut down and without usb cable, hold volume down button for few seconds and plug in usb cable
--------------------------------------------------------------
First, Download files:
- LGup V30DLL_PATCHED
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zvp...K5KjAQYm5/view

It's the 1st time I do this, if you could tell me the steps and links of all I need would be great!!!! I have 8.0 with Bluetooth issues and my device is not rooted, I don't even know how to root… Thanks!

Read post #1 of this thread and you'll know how to root. There's even a section called "FLASH TWRP AND ROOT".
It seems like you posted without reading anything first...

If you don't understand what I write then the end of the thread have video for you to follow. If you really wanna root your device try to do some research at least a basic one.
I was following the video and it has link to file:
Rom_LGv30_V300s_v21e_Oreo_full_stock.zip
I have Android security patch level
May 1, 2018
And Software version:
V300K21g
On the video @bilong9 has March 1, 2018 security patch level and V300K21e software version. Other software info are the same. Can I use the Rom and other files on that video? Sorry for noob questions

For me,
security patch level: May 1, 2018 and Software version:V300L21g
It worked
Thanks, worked for me too! Thanks to @bilong9 s video and @ChazzMatt advice on the original thread. I pretty much followed bilongs video, but I wasn't always sure which buttons @bilong9 pressed, so I took notes of what I did to better understand what is happening (last time I rooted Android was back in the days with note 3). It might be that I did something unnecessary, but in the end I got root. (I Had Security patch level: 1 May, 2018. Future security levels might not work)
I'll leave my (quite detailed) notes here if somebody finds it useful basically it is just text version of @bilong9 youtube video. All credit to him of the links and steps
- LGup V30DLL_PATCHED
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zvpcaYC6oDmksqvgXqLw9B2K5KjAQYm5/view
- LGup needs you to install download LG Mobile drivers
http://tool.cdn.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=UW00120120425
- kdz H930

- Adb.unlock.twrp.root
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SvXeQK2xVk7N9yWEh7efYOZMyl199nwD/view
Depending on your variant (v300k / v300s / v300L) download one of the following files:
- For v300k: Rom zip v300k_21e (twrp) Rom running on us998 platform
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DSCmNuL9gR6BhpEfv-rjWa4m8skDBfty/view
OR
- For v300s & v300L: Rom zip v300s_21e (twrp) Rom running on us998 platform
https://drive.google.com/file/d/12wHjqu_04ueeD77AgwtDrliE6hXS7blr/view
Move files to microSD card of the phone
- Rom_LGv30_V300s_v21e_Oreo_full_stock.zip ( pick your variant )
- 1Magisk-v16.0.zip
- 2no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip
- 3lg-rctd-disabler-1.0.zip
Enable developer settings on Android settings

Try again by holding volume down and power button for 8 seconds and device restarts)
- In Factory data reset menu delete all.
- Device will boot to android Setup
Setup Android
- Go through the setup steps
- Enable developer settings on Android settings
On Developer options

- As soon as it is done and screen goes black, Hold volume down and power button. when LG v30 screen is visible, let go of power button for 1 second, and then click power button.
- Erase all to factory settings
- Let device boot. As soon as it is booted, shut down android from menu
- When shut down, it starts to reboot, press volume down for few seconds to enter fastboot menu
In fastboot menu
- open cmd-here.exe again.
- Enter command: fastboot getvar all
- Output should now say "unlocked:yes"
- Enter command: fastboot flash recovery TWRP-3.2.1-joan-v0.1.img
- Output should say: "Ok"
- shutdown device by pressing power button. After power off, start holding powerbutton and volumedown button to enter Factory data reset menu. When logo appears or phone vibrates let go of power button, and after 1 second tap power button. Reset all
- Device should go to TWRP
- If device booted to Android, TWRP needs to be flashed again ( Do steps: turn of from power menu, enter fastboot menu, flash TWRP from command line, enter Factory reset on first boot and delete everything ).
In TWRP
- First press Cancel (on Mount: Decrypt Data screen)

I wanted to get rid of the korean rom bloatware (and korean text all over the place) so I DL partition flashed h930 EU Rom without xbl1, xbl2, modem, recovery and recoverybak with the patched LGUP. For some reason, I still lost recovery (maybe because I did not manage to do the button dance on first boot?). Then in Fastboot mode I reflashed TWRP, got in to twrp and rooted the phone again.
Calls and data are both working. But when booting the phone, it seems to take longer time than before to get sim signal (around 30 seconds after inserting PIN code). Also when I made my very first call, signal disappeared but came back after a reboot. It has not occured anymore. Also Lte Multiband selection engineering menu is not working, but that was kinda expected.
I kept korean xbl1 and xbl2 because I found a post by @bilong9 when he first discovered how to get signal back. I don't know if signal would work with only korean rom modem.

Have you followed the instructions in post #1 yet?
You can't skip ahead. You'll get fastboot commands when you follow the instructions step by step.
Hello to all. I have been following the detailed instructions by Defic based on Bilong9 and watching also video in youtube, so I have got well prepared before unlocking bootloader in my LG V30 v300k. Thanks a lot, I could unlock bootloader and installed root and TWRP, but I faced at the end with a problem of missing carrier signal. I thought maybe I have done mistake and downloaded stock and flashed it in LGUP in Refurbished mode since Bilong9 has advised to somebody with the same issue. After that I have flashed KDZ US988 since I had already bootloader unlocked, then I installed again v300k file provided in the instruction. I don't have still carrier signal. Please, help me to resolve my issue with your advises, how can I bring back carrier signal? I don't want to brick my phone, may be the issue with modem, is there possibility of installing only modem seperatetly via TWRP, will this work? What if I install firmware in LG bridge, will this work and will I loose unlocked bootloader? Thank you all in advance.

I didn't have the same problem as you.
You could try to flash the stock v300k rom with LGUP to get to the beginning state (and lose unlock and twrp) to see if you get the signal back. Get the firmware here https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-mv300k-firmwares/firmwares/ . I have not done this and I am not an expert on this subject.
Thanks Defic, I will follow your advice, though I have done it last time with stock v300k21e, mine was v300k20e.

Is FM radio working on H930 firmware?
LGup V30DLL_Patched link is not working. :*(
Edit:
Rechecked and all links are down
So... I managed to get it working for awhile, then something happened...
I don't know if this will help but I installed an app called granular immersive mode and followed the instructions... then after some time my phone suddenly switched into airplane mode and when I switched airplane mode off I couldn't get a signal. So I rebooted the phone.... and still no signal. Tried to check the mobile network setting, network mode says null and couldn't search for provider, also tried the 4636 code and got into the setting found out that everything is dead, so I flashed back into stock (using LGUP refurbish), but still no signal. I, for some reason thought locking the bootloader back would help but no, it didn't help.
I'm on v300s.

[GUIDE][ZD551KL] Zenfone Selfie bootloop, brick, firmware upgrade errors fix etc.

I had to fix a couple of bricked selfie phones (z00ud and z00udb but i assume this works on any selfie zd551kl model), that were probably bricked by autoflashing wrong firmware, so after spending a few days going thru many different tutorials, this is my tested method on how to fix them (or if you wanna get a cheap phone from taobao and turn it into a decent one), obviously it wasn't extensively tested, so take it as is . Some steps MIGHT be unnecessary but i didn't want to skip them as i was just glad i found a way how to get the phones to completely stable, latest firmware from useless paperweight.
A. if fone doesnt accept any firmware,or bricked, bootlooped etc. flash basic CN firmware, regardless is recovery WW or CN
- Instructions:
1. go to phone recovery (PWR button + VolDwn, release PWR on logo)
2. on phone select adb bootloader, it switches to fastboot mode (or hold PWR button + VolUp, release PWR on logo)
3. on PC unzip archive and start the autoflash .bat file
4. start the phone
files: archive (Asus Zenfone Selfie Z00UDB ZD551KL 3+16 here )
B. upgrade CN/WW firmare to latest version
- Instructions:
1. on PC install adb drivers
2. go to phone recovery (PWR button + VolDwn, release PWR on logo)
3. on phone select adb sideload
4. on PC, copy firmwares into adb folder
5. on PC go to adb folder and start cmd in that folder (shift+Rclk)
6. type adb devices to check connection, then adb sideload firmwarename.zip
7. start the phone
8. repeat all steps until latest CN/WW firmware is installed
files: adb drivers adb-setup-1.4.3 here , firmwares here(UL-Z00T-CN-1.13.40.661-user,UL-Z00T-CN-1.14.40.695-user,UL-Z00T-CN-1.15.40.1548-user)
C.swap CN firmware for WW, upgrade to Android 6
- Instructions: (also someone elses crappy YT video instructions here )
1. on PC install vc x86 and x64 redist packages for 2010,2012,2013 to prevent .ddl missing errors when running flashtool
1. on PC install asus flash tool
3. on fone turn on usb debugging in developer settings (click on about>sw info>build number)
4. turn off fone then start it in fastboot mode (hold PWR button + VolUp, release PWR on logo)
5. connect the fone to PC, start the autoflash .bat file from the firmware folder (CSC_ZD550KL_1_2_0_70_fac_eng_20150905_secure)
6. disconnect usb, wait for fone to reboot, then disconnect the battery on boot logo (remove back cover in advance)
7. return the battery, and start the fone again in fastboot mode, check for extra info on screen
8. on PC start the flashtool, connect the fone in fastboot mode, check if connected, select the model (ZD551KL), select wipe data
9. on PC, browse to firmware (WW_ZD551KL_1.15.40.1582-bsp-user-20160510203701-secured-release) in flashtool, click start, chose Yes for both options (wipe and image promt), wait until flashing is over
10. disconnect and start the fone
11. connect the fone to PC, copy the firmware (UL-Z00T-WW-21.40.0.1692-user) to internal memory or SD card and wait for the fone to recognize the package and auto-update to Android 6
12. connect the fone to PC, copy any newer firmware to internal memory or SD card (no need to copy next iteration or 2156 build, you can go to for ex. 2214 build right away) wait for the fone to recognize the package and auto-update to newer build of Android 6
files: vc redist packages here , firmwares (WW_ZD551KL_1.15.40.1582-bsp-user-20160510203701-secured-release here,CSC_ZD550KL_1_2_0_70_fac_eng_20150905_secure here), Android 6 firmwares here

Depending on your issues, you should pick the step you need, in case nothing works on your phone start with step A, otherwise start with the step that is appropriate for your problem.

One UI 3.0 beta released for Galaxy M31

One UI 3.0 beta has been released for Galaxy M31.
If you are part of the supported regions, you can grab the update link and share it here (for each update).
These are the steps I borrowed from @AhmedMomen 's S10 thread.
How to capture the update.zip file to share with other people:
1. Download HTTP canary app from Play Store.
2. Open HTTP Canary app.
3. Start the update by pressing "Download". Don't pause it!
4. Go back to Canary app and start it. It will grab the link for you.
5. Please share the link and your model number here!
As for how to sideload the update.zip file, here is the:
ADB Method:
1. Download and install adb.
2. Connect your phone to your PC.
3. Download the update file where you have installed adb Platform Tools.
4. Rename the file (including the extension) to "update.zip". Click "Yes" on the prompt.
5. Open your terminal of choice.
6. Type "adb reboot recovery" and press ENTER on your keyboard. Wait for your phone to reboot to recovery mode.
7. Navigating with the volume buttons and selecting with the power button, go to "Apply update via ADB".
8. Back to the terminal on your PC type "adb sideload update.zip". (NOTE: If it says that device is not connected, just remove and put the USB cable back until it works).
9. The update is being installed. It will be completed when the phone boots up. You may use your phone normally after.
10. Report any bugs on the Samsung Members app! https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/apps/samsung-members/
SD Card Method:
1. Search for an update file. You can usually find one in XDA Forums.
2. Check if you have the right build and open the right link.
3. Download the update file (.bin extension).
4. Move the update file to your SD Card. (NOTE: If you are getting errors, back up the stuff of your SD Card and format it from your Galaxy phone.)
5. Rename the .bin file (including the extension) to "update.zip". Click "Change" on the prompt.
6. Reboot to Recovery Mode, by connecting your phone to another device (such as your earphones) and holding the Volume Up + Power (+ Bixby) buttons.
7. Navigating with the volume buttons and selecting with the power button, go to "Apply update via SD Card".
8. Navigate to and select "update.zip".
9. The update will start installing. It will be completed when the phone boots up. You may use your phone normally after.

Tell me what this applies to Turkey? So can I install android 11 with the method you explained in the 3rd row?
Got updated to UI 3.0 android 11 ota and updated
I rooted my Android 10 M31 with Magisk using the Magisk image patching method so now my phone is everything stock + magisk root (no custom kernel or recovery) and a few root applications/modules such as Vanced, ViperFX and adAway.
Oddly enough, I have received a push notification from Samsung about the availability of the Android 11 update. But I don't feel safe to OTA update my phone because of root. So is there any way I can update it without losing any data and without losing root?
Thanks in advance!
