Charger connecting and disconnecting rapidly - Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Questions & Answers

Hi,
recently i bought Redmi Note 9 Pro ( indian ver ).
after while its come to disconnected when i charge in rapidly mod ( 33watt )
0% -40% there is no problem, when charging from 40%-55% it gets disconnected. after that when plugged it again it charges normally
i have changed my cable with normal (18 watt ) it doesn't disconnect
but when i change cable with same as orginal ( for charge with 33watt ) and its continue to disconnect
any problem reported related to this ? any solution ?
I don't think it is because of faulty port, nor a faulty cable. Lastly, this usually happens only when the battery is from 40%-55℅. Could it be a software problem? Any reply is appreciated!
OS - MIUI 11.0.4
I have done the basic trouble shooting like hard reset and recalibrated the battery also.
tnq for helping

It is a hardware related issue, there is nothing much to do about it.

Same problem here! (Redmi Note 9 Pro Global version)

i also facing this issue, any solution for this?

Exactly the same issue.
Workaround would be to charge phone in switched off state.
It worked for me and charger the didnt keep connecting and disconnecting.

Do a power cycle
I had the same issue. I did complete power cycle.
Drained my battery to 0% then charged it upto 100% using turbo charge the whole time didn't saw the issue happening anymore.
Will update here if I see the issue any further.
If it happens then service center is the only option

that cable is rated for 3A max so its never gonna turbo charge the device at full speed. what u need is a 6A rated usb type C

@Traison no, i compared both cable charging speed it was same. its both charging speed 3000mA to 3500mA but one thing i noticed.
i am seeing this 'rapidly charging' or 'turbo charging' message in lock screen when charging phone using original cable.
and this 'fast charging' message in lock screen when charging phone using boat cable

Fast Chargers

Will using a fast charger hurt the phone?
I have been using my note edge charger but will it cause issues?
Always only use the charger that comes with the phone, other chargers may cause issues (damage battery, damage the phones charging port, etc.). its not gonna be really fatal if the charger is fine, but its reccomended to only use the charger what came with the device.

And cus the z5p doest support fast charging i wouldt use a fast charger.. (i am not sure does it support) i think it did or then not lol but dont use dat!

Sony xperia z5 premium is totally Qualcomm fast charge 2 capable.
I use my note 4 fast adaptive charger without any issues and it is fast charing as hell. This is because the phone support Qualcomm quick charge (which is a open standard from Qualcomm and Samsung use the same).
Even if you want you can't damage your battery because a controller inside the phone or the battery is controlling the charge, checking multiple parameters to avoid battery explosion.
It is simple - you can use even 5A charger, but the controller inside the phone will allow only safe charge rates.
So at the end, Yes you can use your note edge charger without any issues!

Anyone know what the fastest possible charging time from about 10% to fully charged would be? And with what charger?
-xirt0n
Mine came with the UCH10 charger and am using my short Sony usb cable that came with my headset (EC300). I went from 4% to 100% in 1 hour and 35 mins. I also tested with the Tronsmart quick charge 2.0. It went from 6% to 100% in 57 mins. Both chargers support the 5v/9v/12v output. Does anyone have a qc2.0 20v charger? I wonder if it will be faster?

Non HTC 10 chargers?

I don't fully understand why, but I've read that due to our phone using USB-C for charging, that I should probably just use the OEM cable and charger my phone came with. I have an LG G5 charger and cable laying around, but the specs are slightly different than the 10's. Would it damage my phone to use that as a spare charger? Also, can somebody give me a simple explanation why USB-C is delicate for quick charging?

I'll rephrase the question, not statement, in a way that might be easier for you to understand. Here it goes: Can somebody give me a simple explanation as to some people allege USB-C is not compatible with Qualcomm QC?
Also, since my question is about quick charging, and since the LG G5's charger uses quick charging, that's the kind of charging I want to do.

the usb-c standard plug has not enoufg physical connections available that are needed for fast charging.

i would check the output voltage, htc can accept ~5volt ~9volt and ~12volt.
if you have a good usb-a to usb-c cable (stock or somethink like aukey (NOT ANKER)) i would feel comfortable becouse the phone and the charger communicate with eachother on what voltage to charge.

To be even more precise, on just one model ID of their PowerLine USB C cables, the rest of their PowerLine USB C cables are fine.
Anker’s Powerline 3.1 Gen2 cable has a flaw that causes it to “remember” the charging voltage for a laptop that it’s plugged into, then accidentally provide that higher voltage to a phone unless it’s unplugged from the more powerful charging base. This can overload your phone and destroy it.
Anker has already replied with the following recall:
We are offering all of our PowerLine USB-C A8185011 users a full refund.

Seems clear now, i think that if the cable isn't type c, we can't get the 3A for charging the device.
with og cable i'm able to get 3A but with an USBC to A i'm stuck at 1,5~ ( http://imgur.com/a/LVgAi )
I think your charger does not deliver enough power and so charging seems to be slow, can you give me the amperage in the top of the app ? (min, current & max)
Also are you on Stock Rom (Root etc)?

According to results, it should be the charger that doesn't give sufficent power to the phone.
Try to get an charger with an USB C port and a USB C toC cable.
Here's some links, cheapest ones that i found:

chargers

So I've had a USB c for a while and now I need a second charger for this phone? Any recommendations that will work with the fast charge? I have a quick charge base already that I used with my LG, will any micro USB cable work with it? Pardon my ignorance
Anker and Aukey are my goto for everything charging related
Most cables work except for the ones that you run into occasionally that won't charge any device properly.
So my Qualcomm 2\3.0 adapter doesn't seem to quick charge this device. Any idea where to get an OEM Moto adapter that came with the phone? Or an aftermarket one that works with the turbo charge
Buy a moto g3 turbo(merlin) charger that works perfect with moto g5+

would you specifiy the product?
The Anker PowerPort+1 18W (QC 3.0, one Port) doesn't quick charge my G5 plus. Stays in 5 V + 1.5 A mode (which is only 7.5 W), instead of 12 V + 1.5 A (which is 18 W and does the exact same harm to the battery due to the same current... - so in this case I'd prefer to use one that uses quick charge).

I hope you don't mind me asking, but: Does this mean you've been testing it with a voltage and current USB monitor (power monitor) that it really charges with a voltage of something like 9-12 V(DC) and a current of 1-1.5 A(DC) and you've also seen the "turbo charge" within the G5 Plus display or does it just "work" in the sense of "it is charging, but not sure at which power" ?

With Warp Charge there are several factors that come in to play. The charger itself, the USB Type-C Cable and your device.
Has Warp Charge ever worked on your device?
When the cable is connected do you see "Warp Charge" displayed on the screen?
Did the Ampere App ever show the maximum 5.9 amps or does it always show a maximum of 3.5 amps?
Are you using the original Warp Charge wall outlet adapter and original USB Type-C Cable?
If Warp Charge was working before, how long has it been since you last saw it work?
Have you modified the device at all?

Yes it was all working before I have earlier got 5.2 to 5.5 amps but from past couple of months it's been fixed at 3.5 amps now, and yes I have been using original warp charger provided and no haven't unlocked or rooted my device, could this be a problem with the device or any other fix for this?

Sent from my OnePlus HD1907 using XDA Labs
Bought mine 2019-12 . few days ago (2020-03-30) warp charge stopped working, it still charged, but extremely slow like 40 percent an hour. When it was off i tried plugging in charger, but it started looping, it didn't boot to an animated picture with charging battery, but it still could boot into OS when power button was pressed. Did a factory reset, didn't help. Connecting to pc usb still recognizes it. Had a feeling it was a hardware error. Maybe fast charging module went bad.
Sent it for a warranty repair, got an answer that it will take more time because it was sent for an higher level service. I guess it's quite bad, it could be a motherboard fault.
I read on oneplus forums that quite a few people has a same issue.
Connect it to a pc, see if it is recognized. Mine stopped working & it was a bad USB Car port. It would still slow charge but no warp charge & no windows pc would recognize it connected
Hi! I have the same issue, only difference is that mine is sometimes charging at warp speed and most of the time at 3300 mAh "dash speed". Did you manage to see what the issue was?
