They are going to be built from source using the prebuilt kernel

Good morning Master, as far as I know there is not yet a twrp for this device, how will a custom ROM be installed without Twrp ..?
I also wanted to know if a Rom based on AOSP will work ..?

In the link that you cited you have an unofficial Twrp, let's remember that there are specific models such as the 4 and 3 gb ram variants, and also those that come with NFC, that Twrp reports more failures than successes.

[Rom][6.0.0/5.1.1(Not Sure)][DM][OMNIROM Build Modified][BigPart][Alpha]

Hi And Welcome To a Non-Tested Version of Android 6.0.0 on the xoom (Maybe 5.1.1 Not Sure) But back to the topic
This is mostly 5.1.1 but maybe with new of fixed features (I've never tested it as I said)
Here is how to install (I found this on another area)
1. ROOT YOUR DEVICE
2. Install BigPart TWRP
3. Wipe your system and flash the zip file
Here is the zip file
(I'm having Issues of Attaching The File So Please Wait)
XDA:DevDB Information
Android 6.0.0 or Android 5.1.1, ROM for the Motorola Xoom

so is this rom 5.1.1 or 6.0? id love to try it out...
I just resurrected my old xoom and converted it to bigpart.
waiting for the zip....
Waiting for test it.
Did you build this rom? If so, how can you not know what version of Android it is?

Can you provide more information please?
Just "copy n paste" from "other area" is not very trustworthy... i'm sorry to say.
I would love to have 6.0 on Xoom, but I want it to be wit ha Git Repo or anything and not only an ominous zip file from somewhere...
so please, more information is the key!

Based on this post, I think that, best-case scenario, he just kanged Schischu's 5.1.1 build and maybe themed it to look like 6.0. But I'm betting we never see a zip file.
As with everyone else I am curious to this. [6.0.0/5.1.1(Not Sure)] <--- this seems a little strange. It can only be one Android version. If it's 5.1.1 with some cherry picks and tweaks, that's great but just say.
Also some source would be good so we can establish what it actually is. Upload to androidfilehost or something similar if you can't attach.

Speaking of ROM's, when can we expect yours? If the item you posted in #11 is still the zip attachment problem, have you thought about trying the suggestion from Matt4321?

If the OP did not do some coding on our outdated kernel and just synced omnirom sources, or even worse, just replaced some apk's in the flashable zip, all bugs are still there. If you did alter the kernel code you have to apply to GPL and post kernel sources.
I don't mean any disrespect but I kinda have the feeling that you don't have alot of experience with coding. (Please correct me if I'm wrong though) Posting untested software can give inexperienced users alot of problems and could be potential dangerous with our altered partion layout.
This wont have any benefit over Schisu's rom for now so I really have to advise you to wait for updated kernel sources before posting.

Like I said, I don't mean any disrespect my friend. The Xoom needs talented developers but not knowing if your rom is android 6 or 5 raises questions
You should contact the old member of team EOS or Schischu.
Good luck.

Unlocking the 32GB Mi5 frequency

Hi guys, I have been looking at / working on allowing the 32GB variant Mi5 to run at the full speeds (2.15/1.6/624) on the msm8996 SOC as its 64/128GB brothers.
I was able to patch the kernel frequency table to run my 64GB at the reduced frequency of the 32GB but cannot test this in reverse as I don't have a 32GB device
I am hoping a 32GB user can test a boot.img for me. Can fastboot boot/flash it, or flash via TWRP (install -> install image -> select img) and just backup your existing img.
I do suspect it will not boot or work (it does boot/otherwise work on my 64GB though, but there's a few more code differences I haven't changed), but it'd be nice to know
boot_rev1.img this revision does not work, yet
boot_rev2.img a few users report that this one works.
What I would like to know is overall stability for 32GB users, if they could test their phone in games etc as voltage tables may need more adjustment
Edit: please note this kernel is for CM13/AOSP based ROM. please don't flash it over MIUI8

Not yet, hoping to find feedback here first
As you are using CM kernel as base, you must inform that this will only work on devices running MIUI 7.x firmware and a CM based ROM.
On top of that, don't forget to publish the link to the kernel source in order to follow XDA's GPL regulations. I know you have the source in Github.
Could you build a kernel to overclock the 64 &128GB versions too? That would be great.
Sorry out of topic but, does snapdragon 820 have mpdecision or not? (by default)

First focus is on giving 32GB users the full power of the hardware they paid for
I've tried it and it fails to boot
It goes into the bootanimation but after like one second it freeze and reboot
And when it happen, it kinda overheat
Edit
Using AOKP and Cm13 same result

Miui8 firmware blobs are not currently compatible with the kernel sources we have.
A member got a kernel booting on miui8 but stability was a big problem.
First of all, thank you. I think all 32GB users will thank you for that.
Obviously when it's done, it will consume more power, and would have less SoT.
Can you make predictions of what it will take when optimized and fully working?
After changing my ROM to AOSP based I will use this. thanks for your hard working. really appreciated
I added a new boot.img to the OP with some updates to the source. Hopefully this one has more luck. Specifically changes to the voltage table(s).
Please test 32GB users

currently, lineage os is cyanogenmod only with a different name. But we don't know what they'll do in the future.
Will we be able to dirty flash the first Lineage OS builds over a current CM build or will it require a wipe?

you can dirty flash but you'll need to wipe system partition in TWRP (wipe, advance wipe, system and cache) and after you flash the ROM, reflash GAPPS
Will the new Lineage OS builds fix old bugs inherent in the old CM14.1 nightlies? Since the first CM14.1 build for my phone (HTC one m8), fellow Canadian users have reported that turning on location services resulted in bootloops (this did not occur with CM13). The problem was never fully fixed, and it didn't seem like anybody was working on a solution. It would be great if the new Lineage OS builds would have these old issues resolved.
Why is it that noone wants to support a device with an exynos based proccessor, and will it ever happen? For example noone is developing any AOSP roms for the galaxy s6 edge...
What will happen to those devices which didn't had any maintainer in CM? Eg ZUK Z1!
I would like to ask if Lineage OS will be available on the Huawei P8 Lite

Mostly all devices that had support for official CM13 and CM14 will get Lineage OS. MOSTLY!!!! But no worries, newer devices will have official support too. Just we'll have to wait till the official support list comes up!

Yes, I think so..... CM Theme Engine is one of the best things CM gave us so, obviously, they're not gonna remove it. If they do, I hope they'll add at least some theme engine or substratum.

Samsung makes the Exynos processors and doesn't release the processor source, and it is very difficult to develop on processors when there is no processor sources. Samsung stopped releasing the processor source code after the whole brickbug fiasco.
Additionally, they make it more difficult to develop on Exynos devices by, violating the GPL, (which the kernel is licenced under) by holding back parts of the kernel source code, to where what they provides rarely is enough to create a booting kernel, as is required. This makes it to where we can't really see how they make it work and reverse engineer a working kernel.
Maybe one of the s6 developers will port LineageOS to the S6's.

The device index thread (DIT) you linked is a pretty big collections of a lot of threads for the HTC 10. Currently, it contains a more up to date ROMs and kernels section, but as soon as the OP of this thread updates this thread, it might be more accurate. Just be sure, I'll keep the DIT updated at least for two years, usually way longer.
Currently running the latest weekly of DU with the EAS Nebula kernel and I must say in my opinion its been the best ROM I have used on my device.

Mokee is just a AOSP based rom. It has some additional apps, that's the reason why its size is over 600MB. If you want to try it, notice updater-script file. You must modify to fix it, otherwise, the installation will be failed

[KERNEL][4.4][PORTING][WIP] Linux 4.4 Kernel for Z2 Plus

Presenting the 4.4 Linux kernel successfully booting on our Z2 plus
DISCLAIMER-> Do not clog the thread with bug reports which are already known, do not fight, be respectful
Background-So the other day I got my lenovo a6000 exchanged for Z2 plus ^Windows XP Error sound plays^ and was roaming around the community groups and got in touch with @ZyxxeZ when @mrhacker5476 added me to his group, so then i planned about bringing TheRagingBeast Kernel to the z2 plus but felt pretty lazy and was clogged around with college stuffs, so we dropped the idea and thought about this 4.4 kernel and started working on it, so I and DmitriiKudas worked our azzess off and successfully booted it.
What Works currently-
Boots
RIL
FingerPrint Sensor
Haptic Feedbacks
Proximity sensor
Calls are bugged a bit
Battery Gauge driver
USB gets detected but doesnt charge
Bugs-
Camera
USB
Sound
Vol down, Power button [Press Home to wake Works]
Wifi drivers are not yet included in the source as its not our priority
Downloads->
https://transfer.sh/GiT7K/B00ty-4.4_z2_plus.zip
Notes->
1] The kernel currently only boots on Nougat and Old Tree OREO/PIE ROMs, don't complain if it doesnt boot on treble/new trees.
2]Do not copy paste the work anywhere else.
3]The kernel may take around 1-2 months to turn out as fully stable.
4]Some devices may face a "Blue Screen" after flashing the kernel, those users are advised to update their bootloaders via flashing latest QFIL Stock ROMs after that kernel will boot, confirmed by Dmitrii.
We appreciate any sort of contributions to the kernel, report bugs with proper kernel logs whenever you do.

Yep caf added sd820 officially to the list of socs which can boot 4.4 but as we know oems like lenovo don't care much, once the kernel stabilizes it will be showing an improvement in overall capabilities of sd820.

Yep caf added sd820 officially to the list of socs which can boot 4.4 but as we know oems like lenovo don't care much, once the kernel stabilizes it will be showing an improvement in overall capabilities of sd820.

That's very good.. I'll wait cause I'm using this phone for at least 2 more years.. Can't test it as it only supports Nougat for now and I'm in Oreo.. When it's bootable for Oreo, do change the thread.. I'll test it then
Outstanding work!

It broke my flashlight on miui 9.5
thread closed as per OP request
Edit
Thread re-opened
So most of us heard things regarding 4.4 on telegram groups, like Some other guy had helped us booting it, etc. etc. We already clarified that its our own pure work and also forwarded the guy's messages in the z2 groups, so its purely our work and people are advised not to spread fire on this thread.
Peace!
