start by reading the FAQ sticky http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711073
and get familiar with the terms as mentioned in Q5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744194
then if you still have questions, post back
so if i do the the q2 in the frequently asked questions it will work on 5.0.1 with the exact same steps? so there isn't a 5.0.1 guide anywhere ;/?

[Q] How to unlock Bootloader on Samsung Tab 3 Neo?

I am a Ubuntu lover and would like to install Ubuntu in dual boot with Android 4.2.2 on my device:
Code:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Neo
Device Name/Model SM-T111
Android Version 4.2.2
Baseband version T111XXUAOC2
Kernel version 3.4.5-2825399
Build number JDQ39. T111XXUBOC2
I can do this by following instructions on Ubuntu Wiki.
But there is a requirement that my device has an unlocked bootloader.
From what little know about Android the first step is to root the device.
I am happy to say that I have rooted the device successfully using KINGROOT.
I am looking to this Forum for help to unlock the bootloader. I searched on this Forum but could not find any existing thread for unlocking of bootloader on my samsung device.
Regards.

Please open only one topic of the same content really it doesn't help if you open separate threads with the same question
Your device cannot be unlocked officially so you will have no option at the moment to install a custom ROM on it but you can install TWRP for your device just search for TWRP in FIsH
.
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Labs

You'll find pretty well everything you need at ...
[Canadian Guide] - Complete Source for the LG G4 H812. Linux VM/Root/Tools&Files:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/canadian-guide-complete-source-lg-g4-t3212449
Read the instructions and ALL the posts there to get a good feel for the how-to. You will be able to successfully root, install Xposed modules, Titanium Backup and as steadfasterX pointed out above, install a TWRP custom recovery version with TWRP-in-FisH (Version3 Beta 4 and 5 seem very stable - the links are in a couple of the later posts):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/locked-twrpinfish-locked-g4-devices-t3573048
Read everything thoroughly and if you run into problems, post questions to those sites.
You will not be able to root with any of the root apps in my experience.
Good Luck,
S.

The first step to rooting a device is unlocking the bootloader to allow modified or custom images. Unfortunately, Samsung Snapdragon devices are generally NOT able to be unlocked.
See this guide. If the OEM Unlocking toggle does not appear, your device cannot be unlocked.
