[GCAM] Working GCAM Mod - Motorola Edge Themes, Apps, and Mods

MOTP-EDGBLK - UK Single SIM model.
Finally found a working GCAM Mod - port Nikita.
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-Nikita/
Working: Partial
Tested with NGCam_7.4.104-v1.6 (Nikita, 2020-09-13)
Auxiliary Cams (Wide+Macro)
Slow motion 1/4 and 1/8
Sabre Working
HDR/HDR+, Night Sight and Portrait Mode for BACK CAM and Selfie Cam
Panaroma / photosphere / playground.
Video - upto 4k @30fps / 1080p @60fps
Not Working - update 24th Sep 2020: Ultrawide camera takes blurry pictures with HDR+ on or HDR+ Enhanced on. TURN OFF HDR+ or HDR+ Enhanced to avoid blurry pictures.
Bugs: Selecting 4k video with 60fps setting renders the "video" portion of the app unusable and you cannot revert the setting. The only fix is to clear the app's cache. Seems like a hardware limitation as the Moto EDGE is only capable of recording [email protected]
Attached my custom XML.
Enabled auxiliary cams (wide/macro with icons).
16:9 aspect ratio
Video 1080p @60fps
G-AWB and Sabre Enabled.

Works well thanks!

Better than that dumpster fire, they call Moto camera.

Silly me. Thanks a million

Can't use wide camera. Should I look for another version? Thanks!

The latest version 1.7 works great. With some tweaks to the settings (sorry OP), the wide angle and zoom work perfectly with both regular HDR and HDR enhanced. White balance is pretty good with some modifications and image clarity + sharpness is a lot better.

Might need some better white balancing (I'm colourblind so I struggle with that) but everything else is pretty good. Using the latest Nikita here.

Agreed and thanks a million. Working like a charm. By far the best gcam option for now.

Question. Should the Moto camera tuner be disabled? Could interference from this, distort the results? I have my tuner enabled, would it make a difference?

FYI/PSA: The everything works config posted isn't working in the latest update 1.9, crashes. But app overall seems to be working well. I haven't played with configs too much before, but if I land on something I'm happy with, will share.

Ok, so i will be testing th 1.9 update - any configs which work good with Moto Edge?
Stock camera app dissapointed me so much

Using the version Nikita 2.0, of 104, with configs. Getting better, but is this the final version?

yes I understand that you use the latest version. But I'm asking about a config (.xml file), that works good with Moto Edge. There are configs for Moto Fusion+, G7 Power etc, but no Edge, so I assume that I need a config that has the same lenses as Edge (64, wide angle, telephoto and TOF).
Can you just show me what config you use, that works so well? Or you have your own? When I download 2.0 and have 3 options below (3X, 1X and 4X)
-3x is probably telephoto
-1x is main lens
-4x is wide angle (?) which just freezes and doesn't work

Anything on advancement? I'm using 8.1 of this app.

Thanks!
All working except Video for me - doesn't matter if i choose 30fps or 60fps, when i go Video is just close the app.

[APP][FEEDBACK] Arnova8G2's Google Camera Port

This is a thread to report bugs in @Arnova8G2 google camera port. I'm creating this thread to personally report a bug, anyone else who uses the app and has an issue should feel free to post here as well.
App in question: drive. google.com/open?id=1IEf-BZQdk_SH3WVG3aev05pdiRpVqW68 (I am not allowed to post links yet, apologies.)
When reporting a bug:
Describe the issue
Include a logcat
Mention @Arnova8G2
The main issue I am experiencing is the inability to take burst photos when holding down the shoot button. This feature functions properly in cstark's version. OIS also seems to not be functioning correctly, the viewfinder is shaky unlike stock camera app.
Log: hastebin .com/ezerufuduj.xml
Device Info: hastebin .com/uzamasocuw.http
I found a VERY strange solution to this. It turns out switching to the video mode, and back to the photo mode makes OIS work properly. It's worth noting I have added these lines in the build.prop to enable EIS in video, so even though I don't think they're necessary for OIS, if this method doesn't work for you then they're worth a shot:
persist.camera.eis.enable=1
persist.camera.is_type=5
persist.camera.is_mode=5
I don't think the 2nd and 3rd one do anything but they're worth mentioning I suppose.
Full stock here, no root, and I find the same issue with OIS. Though sometimes OIS goes wonky in the default camera app when you cycle zoom modes, at least on my phone. It's the main reason I don't use the app full time. I'm a shaky individual.
Not sure how well the Z3Z can get supported with the camera mod, but I'd be willing to test out if it ever came to. The quality is phenomenal to say the least compared to the PixelMaster Camera app. I've tried a bunch of different versions of the app but always come back to Arnova's.
EDIT: Tried cstark's version and the switch trick does work. And the faster initial processing makes this a keeper for now. All that's really missing is the OIS and I'd be a super happy camper.
Arnova's no longer works for me so I've been using cstark's version.
I wonder if we can get OIS and perhaps some autofocus fixes. I find it can be blurry when it auto focuses, but super sharp on a tap.

I ended up switching to cstark's as well. At this point all that's really needed is for the laser autofocus and the rgb sensor to work properly. I remember seeing cstark replying to a zenfone 3 user that he would look into laser autofocus, but I think the rgb sensor might be a lost cause for any camera that isn't stock.
By the way, the 2nd zoom camera doesn't have OIS, so if the stock camera switches to it, (past 2.3x zoom in a well lit environment) things get a lot more shaky.

I still find the Google Camera Mod takes better digital zoom point and click photos than the standard Pixel Master camera and the telephoto lens. ?
What else can we do to get some better device support? I would use the camera full time if the stabilization and focus were fixed. It's near perfect.
Could someone pass me the mod camera link from cstark to ZenFone 3 Zoom, please ?

Do you know guys why Arnova's v8.2 doesn't work with z3z ?
I'm still trying with Arnova's since I found the best result with Arnova's v6. However I want to keep being updated but yeah... am stuck in the v6.
Is there any information about requirements for each version, so I don't need to try those versions brutally one by one?

No clue. Maybe someone can pull a logcat.
I moved again to BSGs/Toylan but I think those are having issues too on newer versions.
If someone was close or had contact with the Devs I'm sure it would end up being great. The sensor in the camera is the same as a Pixel 2 if I recall correctly.
Hello. I am thinking of buying the zenfone 3 zoom. Does the ois still have problem with gcam. Are you talking for photos or video?
Furthermore, are there any low light comparison shots of stock vs gcam?
Things would work much better if there was full Camera2API. ASUS seems to have locked it to limited and the OIS is not exposed to the OS.
Otherwise CStark 4.2t3 has served me well. Enhanced HDR is stunning . Only missing some form of stabilization, but the video trick works.

So if I am getting it right, the OIS does not work while shooting pictures? This is really weird since the ois is not controlled by the camera app. Are you sure that it is not just a viewfinder bug? Did you try shooting without switching to video and got blurry images (i.e. camera shake) ?
Is there any way to full implement api2 by editing build.prop?
I am playing with my asus zenfone for a week. What I find is that the OIS is not a problem for gcam. The real problem is that it has difficulty in auto focusing especially in low light. The circle of focus does not remain steady unless you tap to focus.
Here a comparison of stock camera (custom settings regarding sharpening, contrast etc) vs gcam. First stock

Yeap. Here you are. First stock then gcam. In stock camera I have changed some settings (saturation, sharpening, contrast, noise reduction) since the default ones are really bad. The daylight photos of stock camera are Auto mode. The low light are with Manual mode but with all settings at auto (it has more natural results than auto). If you wish you can move the modes at stock and even change the default first mode.

Google Camera is finally here people ??

Yes you read it correct our long wait is over now. Now we too can enjoy the amazing processing of gcam. Everything works like a charm and there is a significant improvement in the quality. I'm sure this will get better as this is obiously an early build.
And it's not the pixel 2 camera but it's the pixel 3 one!..
Here's what works:
*Portrait mode on both front and back cams(only on humans)
*HDR+, HDR+ enhanced
*Panorama (super glitchy for now)
*And pretty much everything else
*Night mode ( slight improvements only)
*Photo Sphere
Here's what doesn't work:
*Live Google lens
At first the images will look dead.So after you install it you need to increase the saturation. Go to settings , bsg mod settings , saturation and change saturation of front and back cam.
Literally all the credit goes to @xdaakhil for digging this up. If you want to thank someone thank him.
Well my thanks button is down there too ?
Working on :
Honor 9 Lite
Honor 7X
Honor P Smart
Mate 10 Lite
P20 Lite
Honor 6x
keep testing
Edit: video and photos sphere works after changing the default storage to internal. Don't know why it doesn't work with the SD card?
Photo sphere is also very buggy
Photos cannot be clicked without enabling HDR+ or HDR+ enhanced.
There is a pinkish tint on highlights. This can be overcome if you guys focus on the lit(highlights) part by tapping on the viewfinder.
This port can work without root or any modifications.

? Don't know why that happened. Try downloading it again.
To those of you who who don't know why portrait only work on humans:
Gcam doesn't utilise the secondary camera that comes with the device as pixel phones have a single lens setup. The portrait is completely software based. You can check this, cover the secondary lens and click a portrait pic, it'll work!
This is also very useful as we will get good quality blur and edge detection like flagships in our budget phones as the software processing is the same in both apps.
So the camera cannot detect Dept between the subject and background as it only uses one lens.
Hello,
please, tell me, did you find optimal settings of gcam for our phone? Saturation and HDR+? I am testing it but I am not finding the perfect combination yet.

Well im also a bit confused about the perfect match.
But this is what I use:
Pixel 3 as the input method in both front and rear cams(for the super res zoom to work)
Saturation, rear cam highlights 2.7 shadow 2.9
Front cam highlights 2.2 shadow 2.6
Tweak around yourself but I couldn't get the cam to take a picture like it is shown in the viewfinder and the skin tones are better in the viewfinder than the final photo ( the details are far better though)
Thank you Fredin. I will test it.
Been lurking for a while, just registered to say thanks, works nicely the difference is pretty big! Panoramic mode is slow and buggy for me but photosphere does the same thing anyway and works well, lastly, is the RAW picture supposed to look really low resolution like it does for me?
It's working on P Smart as well, will be testing more tomorrow.

Yeah the raw shots do look like it's of low quality(don't know why). But since this build wasn't built for us this is really good.
Only if someone ports the camera for Kirin devices.

I'm not sure as slow motion recording requires hardware support which our phones dosent have.
Normally phones (including ours) records in 30 or 60 fps which is good for taking normal videos but not for slow-mo recording. All the apps you see in playstore just slows down the fps and processes them to slow the video down, but this causes quality loss and an artificial feel to it.
So I don't think we will be about to get slow motion working.

Anyone find a Google camera mod that's takes advantage of the wide angle lens?
Night photo crashes the app, also unable to focus in this mode.
Video and regular photos works fine.
Not possible to switch between lenses.
The latest GCam based off 7.x found here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/google-camera-mods/google-camera-urnyx05-t3937515 supports toggling between the different lens (wide, main, tele) - you need to go to advanced to turn it on within the GCam app. However, the tele button is not routing properly and is instead going to the 5mp depth sensor, not the actual telephoto lens. The wide and main work fine though.
I just downloaded and installed the mentioned GCam. I can confirm that tele doesn't properly route (and portrait doesn't seem to work). If there's fix for that, it would be infinitely better than the bundled Moto camera app!
I compared side-by-side photos from stock vs Gcam and Motorola's image processing is almost on par with Google's. Portrait photos with the stock is excellent. I only use Gcam in odd lighting situations.
This one works great, and allows to use wide and tele lenses. Anly problem so far - night sight does not work with standard lens, and there is no slow motion.

Try the Wichaya port: Wichaya V 2.8.1
The wichita seems to work great, not bug nor crash, even while zooming until now after fresh new install. Focussing seems also to be working well, just the telefoto lens ID (ID4) too much VW for my taste '-). Btw does anyone else found out that since A10, on regular moto camera 2 apps (7.3.6.14-denali), the 3x is not using the telefoto lens IN AUTOMATIC MODE, but instead the main lens digitally zoomed!!! (and as a 12MP output). Naturally, worse results than GCAM using the right lens at 3x. Can someone else confirm that silly behavior on the Moto cam App?? however, it does switch to the telefoto Lens if you choose MANUAL Mode. Strange!!?

Question How well does mcpro24fps work ?

Hi, I'm thinking of getting a pixel 6 / 6 pro, but first I'd like to know what kind of video I can get from it.
Has anyone tested mcpro24fps ? What are the maximum resolutions available ? The maximum bitrate ?
Are the aux cameras available and working ? (It seems like the ultra wide isn't very wide or very good, but at least the main and zoom lenses ?)
For anyone who is curious, this is an $18 app mcpro24fps - professional manual video camera app.

It's also available for free if you download it through the developper's telegram discussion - but it's in russian. I learned where the main buttons are through screenshots and google lens translation, and it works well enough for me.
Not sure I'm allowed to post the link to the telegram here, but if I am I will !
i've dabbled with this app and filmic on previous devices and been left a bit frustrated. it all depends on your usual way of working. for a start you lose all gyro stabilization, which for me is a deal breaker. also with regards the pixel 6, my guess would be that you will also lose it's hdr.net video capabilities, which is an incredible feature.
on my p6p the default white balance for video (but not stills) is a little warm. i've found that if you tweak the white balance slider down just a tiny bit, the footage looks really amazing. if you also hop onto the MWP mod of the camera, you can bump the bitrate up to 100, vs the 69 of stock. using this mod you can control most aspects of the stills, saturation sharpness noise control hdr etc. i've yet to experiment whether those also apply to video.

It's also available for free if you download it through the developper's telegram discussion - but it's in russian. I learned where the main buttons are through screenshots and google lens translation, and it works well enough for me.
Not sure I'm allowed to post the link to the telegram here, but if I am I will !

Although as I already said, that version is only in Russian. What I usually do is take a screenshot, open it in google photos, tap the google lens icon and select "translate". So I can only read a few buttons at a time.
Also you will need to download and install any future updates by yourself.
If you've never used the app, basically tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen, select one of the two top menus (with or without gpu, it determines wether the video feed will be encoded by the gpu or isp) then select 60 fps, and finally the highest resolution available.
Then a bit further down one of the options is a value in megabytes, that's the bitrate, push it as far as possible (before the selection turns red)
You can also check out the aux sensors by taping the button at the top-left corner.
So... if stabilization, hdr.net video and GCAM processing is out the window, what good is this app if it only gets fed the 12.5 MP downgraded version of a sensor that has not been properly optimized? If "saturation sharpness noise control" are of interest, wouldn't it be wiser to just shoot in RAW and then edit later on, ensuring that the "base" product is of higher quality?

The base idea of the app is that it gives you acess to the rawest output from the sensor. It supports better resolutions than the stock camera, in much higher bitrate. In theory, it also supports denoise and both ois and eis.
I made this post to check if all of these do actually work on the pixel 6 pro (including on the aux lenses) and what resolutions and fps combos are supported.

The only thing it might not have is hdr.net, and even that might be exposed as a video output from the camera api, so even that might be a possibility, just with a higher bitrate than what the stock app supports.
EDIT : The video feed isn't downgraded in any way, stabilization is supported, and it supplants gcam processing which isn't really good at video anyway (except maybe hdr.net, but we'll see).

Question Which Gcam mod?

Hi
who has got a staple mod for this phone?
All cameras should work.
Flash is important.
I find bsg v8.7.250 quite reliable but quality is unstable.
Maybe a well written config file can help?
If any one here has a hint on how to get the best out of this phones camera, please let me know
OG honor camera on v6.0.0.180 sucks In pro mode, blurry and noisy. No matter the setting or camera used.
Big kaka works great, and working on all lenses too, change interface to pixel 3 XL, and increase the exposure by 2.5 stops so picture is not dark.

How increase the exposure by 2.5? I mean where is this option?
This gcam works well also on Magic5 Pro? We need to load a config file?

I use LMC R16 https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-hasli/f/dl12/ on my Magic5 Pro. Works decently for the most part but unfortunately for some reason, the optical stabilization doesn't work on the telephoto.

not sure if it's better, I'm just more used to LMC as I've used it on my other phones.
It should work after installing, but if you want to use the Telephoto and Ultra-wide then you can import the config I attached to this post.
Put it in internal storage/LMC8.4 folder.

Do you know if optical stabilization is working on telephoto with kaka? I don't know how to check if yes or not. Thanks

OIS (on telephoto) doesn't work in any GCam port on this phone. Honor must have blocked it from being used in third party camera apps.

The GoogleCameraEng one. With this phone the package doesn't matter apparently, because the ultra wide and telephoto are detected. It's just that the OIS doesn't work on tele, no matter what.
Ois seems to be working on lmc, with this xlm.
Try this xlm
In addition camera settings change the tele cam from 3 to 4, in list id
If it's dark adjust exposure to +2
All cameras are working
Ois is 100% working on tele, I can tell the difference between the tele and and normal 1x which does not have ois
In LMC tweaks make sure ois is checked
Wide, ultra wide and tele
