GUIDE on How to Get Android 10 Recents Screen and QuickStep Gestures [ROOT] - Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Guides, News, & Discussion

This will replace One UIs Recent Screen with the stock version used in the Pixel Launcher. Or any other supported launcher, for a more fluid Android 10 experience.
HOW THIS WORKS
Samsung has modify SystemUI and Framework to change the appearance of the UI, such as the Recents Screen. We will use QuickSwitch which is a Magisk module that uses 'overlays' which you can find in /system/vendor/overlay to safely override the modified UI with one from a supported launcher. You can then revert back at any time from within the app.
Requirements:
- ROM that has been rooted
- Android 10 (recommended)
INSTRUCTIONS
Get Lawnchair (latest version)
Install Lawnchair and open 'Just once' -- Don't set to Always just yet!
Download Magisk module => QuickSwitch (Android Pie+)
Reboot
Launch QuickSwitch and Select Lawnchair from 'Available providers'
Reboot
Launch QuickSwitch. This time you should see Lawnchair in the 'Current recents provider' section.
Go to menu > 'Change default home' and select Lawnchair
Now press the Recents button in the navigation bar and you should see the new changes.
NOTE: If you see notifications that Lawnchair crashed.. Submit bug report. Go to the Lawnchair "App info" screen > Notifications and deselect 'Bug report'
ENABLE GESTURE NAVIGATION (EXPERIMENTAL)
What works:
- Back gesture
- Middle gesture to show Recents screen from the home screen
What doesn't work:
- When in an app using the middle gesture shows "Lawnchair keeps stopping".
Install Termux from Google Play or F-droid
Launch Termux and type: su
Then type: cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural
For a list of all navigation styles, type: cmd overlay list | grep android.internal.systemui
FAQ
What is wrong with the recents UI in Samsung's One UI?
The recents screen is part of One UI Home, which uses Finder, Customization Service, Bixby which are spyware that likely connect to Samsung servers and tracks app usage and has access to your clipboard/storage. So you couldn't disable or remove One UI Home, otherwise the the recents screen would not be accessible.
ISSUES (NEED TESTERS)
Samsung gesture navigation will stop working as a result, due to the navigation bar being modified to work only with One UI.

OnePlus gestures on Galaxy S9

Is there any to get the new OnePlus gesture animations on the Galaxy S9?
Hey mate, I have been using an app called Fluid NG which is available on play store.
Gives you lots of options on where you want the gestures and what they due.
I small swipe up from bottom left is back
Small swipe up bottom center is home
Small swipe up bottom right is recents
You can then have longer swipe gestures.
If you have root you can hide the normal navigation bar to use just the gestures, just remember to re-enable if you decide to unsitall fluid
Well, yes and no.
For this to work you have to be on a one ui rom (AOSP/Pixel doesn't work for some reason), be rooted with Magisk (and obviously have TWRP so you can get magisk).
First you'll need to get a modded apk of the OnePlus launcher from paphonb.
Once installed DO NOT OPEN OR SET AS DEFAULT. Using the stock launcher, go to magisk manager > downloads then press the search icon and type QuickSwitch. Download it and flash it.
Once your s9 has rebooted STILL DON'T SET ONEPLUS LAUNCHER AS DEFAULT. Use the stock launcher to open an app called QuickSwitch that would've appeared on your home screen. Then press oneplus launcher and reboot.
NOW once it's rebooted you can set oneplus launcher as default and it SHOULD work. Now here's the catch: once it's set up you need to use Samsung's gestures in display > navigation. And the only one that will work like the oneplus gestures and animations will be the recent button (which you can now use as a home button if you swipe all the way up). Its hard to explain, just try it out and if you don't like it just install the module in magisk and it'll return to normal. I hope this will help. And if all else fails here's a helpful article on the method I explained: www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-launcher-recent-apps-interface-android-pie/

one plus gestures

When I installed one plus launcher I got one plus gestures and resents menu which is awesome
When sliding up home button the apps close like ios
And when I press home it close as normal
If I use any app to hide nav. Bar and enable gestures the ios animation is gone even with use of one plus paid app
So it there a way to have this animation with the nav. Bar hided?
What app are you using? Can you link it.
Moded Oneplus launcher + quick switch magisk module
Do you use stock rom? I have tried that setup but its failing due to an error in boot script.
Use with latest update 10.0.4
You just install quickswitch magisk module and install moded one plus launcher and don't open it just select it from quickswitch then reboot and make one plus launcher as your default

[APP] Quick Settings [Enable Immersive Mode]

I am in no way the owner or the developer of this app but if you have a Note 10 or Note 10+ by now you should have noticed that Immersive Mode is missing.
By using this app you can add the Immersive Mode Toggle to your Quick Menu with just one adb command, with no root.
Once enabled when selecting the Immersive Mode Toggle you will be given 4 choices, no status bar, no navigation bar, no status and navigation bar or normal operation.
If you select no navigation bar, you just swipe up from the bottom to temporarily get them back.

Systemui tuner is another great app

if you re rooted on android 10/11 you could try "app settings reborn" xposed module : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/mod-xposed-app-settings-reborn.4141339/
it seems to work for all my apps except for an issue with yandex browser ...

[THEME] [GUIDE] Get stock android look on One UI

This guide will show you how to theme your One UI 2.0+ Device to look and feel like stock android/pixel look.
THIS GUIDE WORKS ON ALL ONE UI DEVICES HOWEVER IT WAS TESTED ON ONE UI 2.5.
I have now created 2 sections "Basic" or "Extra's".
YOU DO NOT NEED ROOT!
PRE REQUISITES:
A Samsung device using One UI 2.0+
An internet connection
Ability to download apps
The Basic Stuff:
STEP 1: [VOLUME PANEL]
Download this from PlayStore:
Volume Styles - Customize your volume panel https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tombayley.volumepanel
Open the app, at the top right press "Start". This will ask you for some accessibility settings, after you've done this, go back to the app and select "Android", you may have to scroll down an inch or two. After this step you can test your volume keys and see it it worked. Congratulations you now have a stock android volume panel!
For darkmode users: After you've followed the steps above, press "Style Settings" found at the bottom of the app, find the "Auto Dark mode" option and toggle it. The panel should now match your darkmode settings.
STEP 2: [STATUS BAR QUICK SETTINGS]
Download this from PlayStore:
Power Shade: Notification Panel And Quick Settings
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.treydev.pns
After the app has downloaded, open it, when you first launch the app it will prompt you for some accessibility settings like the last app did, after you've completed this go back to the app and select "Heads Up" and turn OFF "Colourize Pop-Up Badge" and turn ON "Disable Pop-Up Badge".
Now scroll down and open your quick settings and check it out
Feel free to customize this app to your liking, I'm just leaving this as the bare minimum to get you up and running with a stock look.
STEP 3: [LAUNCHER SETUP]
Download this icon pack:
Pixel Q Icon Pack
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.pt.iconpack.pixel_q
(I think this pack is the best FREE icon pack for a stock look, if you have any other suggestions please leave them below!)
No need to open this app.
Download Customized Pixel Launcher:
Customized Pixel Launcher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.whatau.cpl
Press your home button, you will get a prompt asking you which launcher to choose, select CPL (Customized Pixel Launcher). Press and hold the homescreen until a menu pops up with various options at the bottom, press "Icon Pack" and select the icon pack we just downloaded. This took me a few tries as the icon pack kept going back to the system default, but it eventually worked after a few attempts of reselecting it. Feel free to customize this launcher to your liking, however for this guide I will only be changing the grid size for home and desktop. So press and hold the homescreen again and select: "Home Settings" now go into home screen and change the grid size to 5x6, I found this the best on my Galaxy S9, however it may be different to yours. I chose the same on desktop and left it at that.
Screenshots will be added soon.
Extra Tweaks:
These tweaks will only work on One UI Devices.
NAVIGATION BAR:
I haven't tested this but it should work, if it doesn't please update me in the comments.
Open galaxy store, search for "Good Lock" and download the app. (I've heard stuff about this being locked in some countries, it most likely is, I'll try to test it ASAP!).
After you have Good Lock downloaded open it and select "NavStar". This will bring up the NavStar download page from the Galaxy Store. Download it and return to Good Lock. Once its downloaded launch it again through Good Lock and toggle it on. Find the style you like, you can even make your own, soon I will be making my own pixel icons and uploading them to here for everyone to use since the built in pixel icons are kinda trash. Have fun
REMEMBER TO HIT THANKS!
I WILL BE ADDING MORE WAYS SOON!

Question Gesture Navigation does not work with launchers?

I have used lawnchair and nova, but gesture Navigation is not responsive with both of them... It either freezes of changes default to system launcher.. Any fixes?
n
gesture is only for system launcher. for 3rd party launcher, i use this workaround
1. FNG
2. LADB + command "settings put global force_fsg_nav_bar 1". this to hide nav bar
however, need toapply the command after every reboot.
you can refer here
Disable navigation buttons miui global 12.5.8
With the new update, miui global 12.5.8, the system no longer allows gestures AND third party launchers and forces default launcher to the system launcher if gesture navigation is selected. 3rd party launchers work with button navigation, and...

Click to collapse
Reset the settings and restart the phone, then set up new gestures and delete the old ones. Now see if it works or else you should wait for a new update.
