Android 10 rooted upgrade to Android 11/10 - Google Pixel 3 XL Questions & Answers

Today, I got a update notice with "update size 1.40 GB" on my rooted Pixel 3XL
I thought that would be the Android 11 update everyone else are receiving.
But no! It shows "Introducing Android 10"! (screenshot #1)
However, I already had Android 10 installed since Sep 5, 2019 (screenshot #2).
May I ask:
1. If I click the "Download and install", will it install the Android 10 again to my system? Do I need to root again? Is there any good reason to click and let it install?
2. How to disable such "system update" notice, if it makes no sense to install it.
3. The 2nd screenshot shows the security patch level was still on Sep 5, 2019 and never updated. Is this because the system is rooted so that no auto-update is pushed? Is this a big security concern?
Thank you!

I still have the problem.
Each time the update reminder popup, I just ignore it. Not sure what's the best I can do to it.

OTA update from HTC ?

Hello,
I have a rooted Desire and everything is working perfectly.
So i got this update from HTC today (i thought rooted doesn't get them?) anyhow i accepted and went ahead with installation
on reboot it did not install it giving some signature error (after showing the white triangle and yellow ! mark with android logo), so i rebooted and it shows the installation window again as follows:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
so i'm wondering should i repeat the installation or it will keep giving errors because i'm rooted ?
i rooted because i want to install certain softwares like the screenshot software along with arabic support libs
Thanks
Do not apply OTAs if you are rooted, for the last 48 hours this has been said more than a few times.
If you do it your next thread will be something like "HELP!!! CAN"T BOOT, WIFI NOT WORKING" and etc.
Thanks i've ignored it then
although its market update only, not sure what market update HTC has released?
It's the update to the Android Market, nothing from HTC bar a few apps patches and a new radio

Heartbleed an issue for our GS3?

;So ... at the behest of some of the "security experts" I downloaded the Bluebox Heartbleed Scanner from the Play Store and got the following interesting results.
I'm running a TW ROM based on Samsung's Android 4.3 release. I was under the impression that only Android 4.1 was affected. So should we be worried?

I emailed the developers of the scanner app and here is their response concerning our GS3 on Android 4.3:
--
The version of OpenSSL is within the affected range but the heartbeats feature has been disabled, leaving you safe. *It turned out the version number isn't enough to confirm vulnerability.
We are working on a scanner update that will test whether the OpenSSL library has the heartbeat feature enabled/disabled rather than relying on the version number alone. That should fix the confusion you are seeing. *Stay tuned.
Thanks for the feedback!

It would have said "this version ... is vulnerable, but heartbeats are disabled so you're safe" if things were OK.
It says so on my phone.
Maybe you should giveit another try with the curren version, I have 1.2.1 from playstore.

I have it installed since a day. It's Cyanogen OS 13.1 with changed phone app (I like this one better!), and Skype integration (you can remove this app), new Lockscreen mods, Microsoft Hyperlapse option in Camera app. Maybe One Note and Cortana integration, but only maybe in some countries (not here in Netherlands). Also Android security patch from july.
I'm sure there are some other changes or bug fixes. I'm not a big fan of all this Microsoft crap, but in general I'm sure some will appreciate the changes.
downloaded the update but can't flash it with twrp. can't even locate it on the phone memory.
Anyone knows where it might be stored?
Thanks

How can I manually upgrade the Security Patch? (I want to upgrade to 7.1.1)

I just went back to android from iOs and I'm suuuuper lost with all of this
I just saw this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/how-to/official-android-7-1-1-download-how-to-t3616352
but I have the FEB 1 security patch, and my device is xt1635 (ATT MX)
I can't understand anything about software channel or anything, I'm super lost...
What should I do to upgrade to 7.1.1 ? I'm uploading here two screenshots and if someone can help me, it would be great.

Don't worry, typically Google will but out a monthly security update for nexus and pixel devices(Google product) OEM on occasion put out an ota that includes the security update.
For the average user the security updates really aren't necessary.
I have never had any kind of malware on Android.

Question [ORIGIN CN VERSION] Android 13 Update

Hey folks,
I have the phone since early summer now and see that other people updated to Android 13 already. Unfortunately I am still running on Android 12.
Can anyone help me, what I am doing wrong? I am registered for beta Updates by opting in on settings menu. Any easy solutions out there for me ?
Best wishes to all of you!
Just received an update notification, Origin OS 3, 7.8 GB, obviously based on Android 13?

Normal.
Seems they started rolling it out, beginning with D9000 devices.
