64 mpix - Redmi Note 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi, I installed SuperiorOS ROM but it only allows to 16 mpix photos. How can I enable 64 mpix photos as it was on miui?

There is no custom ROM that supports 64 MP Camera as of now. As a fix, you can install the ANX camera module which works fine on Pixel Experience. I'm not sure about other ROMs, you may test it yourself.

Does it also allow 20 Mpix for front camera?

How is your impression of custom rom?

I have a good impression. I finally installed Pixel Experience Plus and 64 Mpix/20 Mpix photos are working. On superiorOS they do not work at all even after installing that Anx Camera and magisk module

What's the reason of having gcam if it only shoots in 12 and 5 MP? Even the ones that have 48mp option they shoot 12mp

You should check the quality of a stock camera and Google camera 7, the difference is big. Megapixels has nothing to do with that but the software algorithm does. Gcam has awesome algorithm. And it's 12 and 9 MP by the way.

Those are kinda "fake" 48mp. The 12mp are better with gcam. It's unnecessary to use more megapixels.

Please post some photos taken with ANXCamera/Google Camera on any CFW ROM

Hi,
Since MIUI12 I'm inclined again to switch to CFW ROMs, but I need to know if the camera can be usable!
Please post some photos taken with ANX Camera or Google Camera, so I can decide.
Thanks
Hello, ANX Camera work as a charm, 64MP, Macro, Night...
There's only a bug with portrait item that does'nt work (under Pixel Experience and v190 ANX).
Hope it will fix soon.
I test many others (opencamera, gcamn etc) and I keep ANX Camera witch seems to me far better.

I am using Havoc OS. It runs quite awesome. Only bug i could find so far is Portrait Mode in ANX (none of the fixes work) and i am using Version 184. Important: Download ANXCamera Pro tool from PlayStore and unlock RAW! Normal JPEG are fine aswell but only RAW give the ability to Post Process for special areas of Photography. There must be a reason. If I was you I wouldn't count only on GCam. An update can disable it.
Since gauguin now has LOS 17.1 alpha and mi-globe currently the lack of a good working GCam is holding me back to seek to buy this one - and a little the imanent release of Redmi Note 10 Pro, which should have the same Snapdragon 750G and maybe Radio support.

May I ask about the GCam version and if 4k 30fps still has good EIS support?
Try this gcam mod - gave it a quick test and all basic functions seem to work
Video will record in 60fps without 4k option selected
30fps with 4k option selected - if you try 60fps the app will close and you need to clear data of app to use video again

Brilliant, thank you!
Anyone has a clue why the tele lense could be blurry? I tried different Global/EEA rom vendor images (12.0.1, .2, .5) with different custom roms and GCAM versions. All with the same issue.

Themes / Apps / Mods [MAGISK] ANX Camera with portrait mode for custom ROMs [alioth][12.1]

Hello,
I made a Magisk module of ANX camera for Alioth (Poco F3), based on this zip by @althafvly
Just replaced files in LIB and LIB64 folder with the same lib files from MIUI 13 and fortunately, now we have MIUI camera 12megapixel portrait mode in Android 12.1 custom ROMs Also 1080p 960FPS slow-motion is fixed.
--- You may have portrait mode with the original ANX 204 too, but the final image is less than 2megapixel.
It works in most LOS-based ROMs such as CherishOS, CrDroid, and PixelOS, but doesn't work on SyberiaOS As blinoff82 checked, it's working on SyberiaOS now
Actually, I made this mainly for MIUI's useful portrait mode (GCam only supports human subjects!) and It may has some bugs, for instance:
- Selfie camera is 2.8 megapixels!
- 48mp camera doesn't work
Download: AFH | GDrive
Waiting for 48mp, thx for the share
I use version 204 and portrait works fine... On Awaken at least...
