controllers that attach to the phone - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Accessories

Has anybody tested controllers on the fold 2?
For example the razer kishi or the moga ones that use a clip.
WIth xcloud being a thing now this big screen would be great for gaming.

Have you seen the Kishi? It would be physically impossible to fit the Z Fold 2 into that controller.

I use a xbox controller, a razr would be bit small though ?

So you haven't researched the Kishi. The Kishi is a usb c controller so you will need to connect the phone into the controller in order for the setup to work.

moga controller seems to be the best, saw somebody mod a clip for it. can be connected via usb and has 2 extra buttons u can map

If you have dualshock, maybe this one is useful. It has no clip, has suction cup.

I'll be buying a flydigi wasp 2 for mine. It worked with the previous fold open, it's fits neatly into the pocket, and if we're being honest all i really need is one analog, so i can aim/steer, the second one is perfectly usable on the screen, and it has plenty of other button, like L1, L2 and even an attachable L3

Does the MOGA XP5-X+ that Samsung sells work with the Fold2 while it's unfolded? I'm just trying to find a controller with a clip that will fit the fold unfolded as an all-in-one without having to mod another clip or use the phone and the controller separately detached from each other.

I bought this 8 bit mini controller so i can play at work with low profile ..works great

Getting mine today. Will let y'all know how it fits.

Isn't that the one that has buttons for triggers? and not real analog ones? Thats a dealbreaker.

I modified the MOGA XP5-X+...will throw up some pics when I get home tonight.
I cut off the prongs that hold the phone, and attached a magnet (like the flat car mount type without stand). I use the magnets everywhere for my phone mounts, lol...car, bedside, office, bathroom wall in front of the throne. You get it.
With the metal plate inside my case I am able to place the Fold onto the magnet (mostly secure...think I need a stronger magnet than the one I'm using).

I just got myself Flydigi Wee 2T. It does not work with the inner screen. There's some resolution /orientation related issue for the Flydigi software to work with Fold 2 inner screen. Outer screen works fine but who plays game on outer screen.
Other 3rd party controller mapper app like Octopus can work in some games. But I only tested it on very few games.
1) Among us + Octopus, works fine
2) Octopus doesn't work with COD Mobile
3) Asphalt 9 requires Google Play Games login which require additional plug in for Octopus to work.
Octopus app is a whole different story. There seem to be a paid version of it but I'm not willing to spend the money just yet. Review for Octopus ain't great.
TLDR. Flydigi Wee 2T doesn't work with Fold 2 inner screen. According to Flydigi customer support, unknown time frame, if ever, for Fold 2 support.
I'm still exploring for other workarounds (other than Octopus) for it to work with Fold 2.

Dammit, was waiting for it to arrive to really get playing with ps2 emulators and stuff, that's a damn shame. Maybe by the time it arrives they'll have it fixed. I don't get it, it worked for the fold 1 and they're not that much different in terms of internal displays..... Well let me know how it goes with an alternative fix, I appreciate the warning.

I just bought Panda Gamepad Pro keymapper app and it works great with Flydigi Wee 2T.
I could play COD with the panda app mapping. Could play Asphalt 9 too, without the need for Panda App since Asphalt support game controller.
Bummer that I have to pay for the 3rd party keymapping app for the controller to work properly though.
Anyway it works fine now. Will test out more games.

[Q] Game Controller GRIP(s) for SG2 !?

Greetings,
I'm an Android newbie and just got my Galaxy S2 last week...
Consider me being a video game-o-holic you can understand why I developed a sever case of finger spasms/reduced manual functions over the past few days
I wonder if someone tried one of these "GAME CONTROLLER GRIP / GAME PAD CONTROLLER" seen at eBay (mostly for the iPhone though...).
Is there something suitable for the SG2 as well?
Perhaps the iPhone models can be modified for the Galaxy !?
Gal
(I can't post direct links yet..sorry...)
i think one is icontrolpad, not sure who makes it but seen a few youtube vids , there's another type i forgot the name
iControlPad will work, but I don't think it can grip the SGSII (despite having a couple of sizes of side-grips). The other one is the Phonejoy, I have one, works great (although only the emulators and Gamevil titles will work with it, enough for me, but perhaps not others).
Actually - I've been looking for a more "passive" controller similar to the images I posted.
It's probably no more than "ergonomically" designed cover for the phone, hence, fully compatible with any game/app - especially in horizontal mode...
Its cheap and seem to make playing more comfortable then holding a bare phone...
BTW - looking at the "Phonejoy" ... I couldn't help myself thinking its probably feasible to utilize a more "universal" solution to work with other ,commonly available, BT controllers - perhaps with few bits of code trickery from an XDA wizard
!?!?!
Wouldn't it be cool?
Did I miss a similar existing project?
Gal
You could try this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Making-a-Nintendo-SNES-controller-into-bluetooth-/
Basically, the guy took a BGP100's innards and interfaced it with an old SNES controller. Apparently it works quite well, and it seems he takes orders for building one for you.
iControlPad has a set of rubber sides coming soon that converts it into a plain Bluetooth controller without the clamps to hold a phone. SGS2-sized clamps aren't available yet.
Not quite sure what you meant by "passive" tho.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you know that info about the iControlPad? Anybody here tried the iControlPad with a SGS2?
BTW I contacted the Phonejoy dealer, and apparently he is hoping to be selling a new model based on the PS3 controller (IE: with added analog sticks) early next month!
That info is available at the iControlPad website.

Anyone found a decent stylus?

Is anyone using a stylus with the A100? There are times I would prefer writing or tapping things out with a stylus instead of my finger.
I tried this stylus because it actually claimed to work with the Iconia Tab when I bought. But it was unusable and I sent it back. (I could pretty much get a lighter touch and more accuracy with my fist.)
So is it the nature of the screen that a stylus won't work well? Or did I just pick a bad stylus?

My experience with two different styluses (neither of them is your model) is that they are:
1) - inaccurate - impossible to hit a precise point on the screen.
2) - choppy - cannot draw a continuous straight line in a drawing program.
So for me, a stylus is a complete waste of money. $40 in my case
Personally, I think it's the screen.
I bought a $10 stylus, and it sucked on it.
Then I helped fund the "Cosmonaut" stylus on Kickstarted, so I got one of those for free, and it is absolutely incredible, but it doesn't work on the A100. It is choppy when I draw, like it isn't always conducting.
But when I use it on my phone, or on my sister's iPad, it works flawlessly.
That's why I think it is the screen.
anyone find a working one?
Hi all curious if anyone found a working stylus? I use adobe touch and a working stylus would make my life tons easier? Can anyone confirm if the screen is the real issue? Thanks!
I purchased the Acer stylus official, I must say it is quite accurate, and with the right pressure can make almost a straight line. But the screen is a bit 'too sensitive, should be calibrated.

I haven't used many. Most look very bulbous and are enough money that I haven't been willing to try one. The only Stylus I have purchased are the cheap little ones for the Nintendo DS. I payed $4 for a 3 pack of them. They are TINY, but they telescope so you can have one in your change pocket and forget its even there. They have a fine tip but not all that soft. what I like is I can use it to pin-point click small buttons and links easily with them. For less then $1.50 each I like them allot.
I use a cheap Inland Bluetooth mouse at home. It was less then $15 at Fry's and works fine with our device. It makes a nice sort of a remote when watching movies on the TV and the mouse pointer works great for controlling the interface. The scroll wheel works wonders to navigate lists. It also has yet to use up the first pair of AAA batteries I put in it a few weeks ago.

Hi sudo
Do the styli from the 3ds actually work with the A100 then? I tried my DS lite styli but they didn't work at all, didn't think they would, I sld my 3DS a long time ago so can try with one of them at the moment

Hi all,
I'd like to start a bit of a revival in this thread as I'm really craving a decent stylus right now, for a long time I was an expensive fountain pen and notebook guy, still am for some things, but since ICS and me being used to my tablet on my person it's so useful, but I can only type so quickly on a touch screen that I miss shorthand.
Here is a link that surfaced for the iPad, it has a great gamut of styli, http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/10/2925937/best-stylus-ipad-review
I'm wondering what the cosmonaut is like with ICS and build.prop modifications, have you tried this mitch?
For writing consider Adonit Jot - it has some problems (skipping) but they are easy to fix (free replacement discs or conductive greas or... toothpaste) - you will find more on Asus Transformer forum, there is a guy from Adonit answering all questions too.

Turning the note3 into a gameboy

This might be stupid but I have the spigen slim armor case and I was thinking how awesome it would be to have all the gameboy buttons to use it as a gameboy. Something that would be compatible with the emulators currently available. Im probably not wording this right but I hope u get were im going with this.:good:
I have no idea what your talking about. But then again I'm purchasing a Moga Power Pro this minute so... close enough? I also have my Xperia Play sitting around if I need portability with my PSP games when I'm at school or hanging out with friends.

Hey sounds like a good idea. Draw up a couple of different plans on how it will work, and do a kickstarter. Maybe you can get enough money to develop it. They have the Logitech pads for phones, why not make an emulator pad for phones. Just mention my name when you are rich and famous off this idea.

Looking for feedback on Ipega PG-9087 vs the Betop G1 controller

Hello,
So originally I wanted the BETOP G1 but, the fact that the Ipega PG-9087 has buttons on the right side instead of having to use on screen ones, makes it more appealing to me.
Anyone using it with the mate 20 x?

I've been looking for a telescopic bluetooth controller myself since a couple of months now, I even had my eye on the Ipega.
The issue however is that the mate 20 x is too big (174×85×8) to fit in any of these controllers except the bulky ipega 9083. The extension of the ipega 9087 is 4mm too short.

Yeah, it was odd because they replied to an amazon member saying it would fit yet on another reply when they said the dimensions that it could work with it was clearly not big enough for the mate 20x. So I emailed them and indeed it wont work so I bought this:

The phone does fit once you remove the top rubber grip from the mount, but given the weight of the mate 20x it can feel top heavy after long gaming sessions.

Cool. On mine it fits as long as I don't have any case on it
Ipega 9087 is bulky but I guess its the only option we have.
Has anyone found a telescopic controller that fits mate 20 X?
Ι don't like the fact that betop g1 is only for the left analog stick.
Thanks
I have both iPega 9083 and Betop G1 controllers. My game of choice is is Rangers of Oblivion.
- I prefer the 9083 overall for combat due to the right-side controls, but as other users have said it it bulky and takes up more space in my bag. You also can't easily reprogram buttons to cater for games with non-native support for gamepads.
- the G1 on the other hand is small, light and easy to carry around and charge (USB-C). But the lack of 2-side controls makes combat harder due to lack of tactile feedback buttons. But on the other hand, you can use it for any game with it's own in-built software to program buttons.
I finally found a Bluetooth controller that will accommodate the mate 20 x : http://glap.co.kr/en/index.php
Its the Glap controller designed in collaboration with Samsung. It can be seen in the ads for the note 10.
Though it's designed for Samsung phones, it can be used on any other android phone. Here is a video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nl30gMy9I4
The only thing holding me back is the price; starting at 80 dollars I have a hard time forking out the cash.
If anybody pulls the trigger let me know what you think.

Wow

I've owned (and still own) quite a few tablets in this life of mine. Most made by our friends at Samsung. A Lenovo here and there for good measure but mostly all Sammies. My favorite up until the last purchase was my 12.2 inch Tab Pro but I have to say this Galaxy Tab S7 Plus has easily become my all time favorite and not just that but I stand in awe of this f*&([email protected]!^ thing...First of course is that jaw dropping screen. I have the 49" ultra wide 144Hz pc monitor so I know of Sammie's Display Prowess but Holy S*(% I can't stop looking at it! Next was the ease that I was able to get the thing rooted and refilled with my Google apps and crap, no hassles.Hey Im sure that Samsung has a reason they asked so much for their Keyboard Folio for this tablet but I passed on that and picked up an RGB Backlit, Stylus Holding beauty off Amazon for about 50 bucks. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DHNRGYC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (and not a minute too soon I'm sure) as me and glass/breakable electronics have a terrible history together, I always buy cases...now I just cant wait each day to use it for jotting down production lists at work or playing "Table Tennis " like games on it .
Samsung, as one of those "weirdos" who even though I've spent a sh*&load on my PC and I have the latest Android Phone I still find a need for a device "in-between" with Tablet properties ( I always have loved tablets) I'm not quite sure why but THANK YOU for scratching that itch so well with the S7+!
Ps: I also own an Intel core i7 2019 made Lenovo Laptop that I still use frequently. Its a Windows environment , the tablet is Android, all bases covered LOL.
