I can't express my thanks enough for this ROM. Variety sometimes a weakness of opensource, is great. I mean the Omni is a stable and a good ROM based on AOSP, which I like and has served me well for the past month or two.
But, I like the plethora of options available in a CR-Droid or Havoc style ROM. They include many items that I'd normally try to add anyway such as network speed in the status bar. AlthI'vough thie iteration of the Network speed feature I find very difficult to read. I do need stronger glasses as I'm no longer a young "whipper snapper" so maybe it's just me. I don't want to use the screen sizing feature.
Sorry , Just super excited. So far, and remember I haven't tried each option, the ROM has been smooth and everything seems to be working.
PS I saw the ROM just by chance early this morning EST when I just out of nowhere decided to search AFH for sophia ROM's and anything else I might find.. I saw like 4 downloads on the latest build and was so excited I immediately downloaded and installed it. I didn't take time to check XDA to see if it was released there or on a telegram or other group app. Fastboot all the way.
Going to get back outside and be productive I suppose while listening to whatever on my CR-Droid ROM with VIPER. and no GAPPS
Thank goodness. I'll have microg on by tonight.
Thanks again to both Rondeau, vache, testers and everyone who has made custom Firmeware a reality on the Moto G Stylus.

Having trouble with data. I remember the omni OP sold LTE data wouldn't work with Verizon but I never had any issues. 3g does work on this ROM but I don't know how to enable it without LTE on this one. I can't do it where you select those things as the only options are LTE/CDMA, global and LTE, GSM, UTMS I believe.
Any suggestions? I figured this ROM would use the same device code but I'm dumb on such things.
Sent from my Moto G Stylus using XDA Labs

thank you for this, I always loved crdroid
I was on the latest stock RETUS firmware and using tmobile and decided to give this a go
After installing it and booting to the homescreen, i noticed there werent any gapps so i twrp flashed pico gapps via https://opengapps.org/ along with Magisk v21 via https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
So far it looks like everything important is working. Wifi, LTE, bluetooth, vibration, sound, GPS, gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity
For what it's worth, SafetyNet passes as well!
Edit: I see the device name is listed as moto g8 power not sure if it matters

This is the same device as the G8 power, just with a smaller battery and a stylus.
I have been running this ROM on my stylus since I built it. Gotta work a few issues out. Want to make this official soon.

I have no data.
I've tried editing the apn in the phone and also creating an apn file for the system/etc but still nothing. If I make an apn through settings, it doesn't get saved.
I didn't see an APN file in the system after I did systemless root but I had no connectivity after flashing the ROM.

Pratt flashing this onto my Moto G stylus and every time I flash system it has a failed error and product failed area can you play stay up

Download the latest and/fastboot platform tools.
Extract the zip and launch a command prompt window from that directory.
Then flash all the needed image files.

The phone is carrier locked and I'm thinking maybe I need to flash an unlocked modem? I don't know if that is the cause but I can't locate the native APN file, putting it in system/etc has not worked.

Perhaps if you try going back to the stock ROM and making sure that VoLTE is enabled in Network Settings and then confirming you have 4G, you should still have it when you wipe and flash a custom ROM such as this.
I had LTE issues on my other Motos and this is the solution which worked for me.:good:

While trying to sideload gapps through stock recovery I get a signature verification error. I've tried through twrp but the file system is encrypted so I can't locate the gapps package.

Use an external sd-card for flashing files in TWRP.

OK thanks I'll give it a try

Google fi?
just a question but is there anyway this would work under google fi? I've already unlocked the bootloader so the question is whether I would get coverage.

You would need a Sim unlocked device for it to work on that service provider. Unlocking the bootloader has nothing to do with a cellular carrier.
If the cellular service is GSM you should be good to go. Most Verizon variants probably won't be compatible.

Get that one + Sim from BestBuy, you should be alright..

i really want to try this rom out but i dont have much experience installing the Gapps after the fact. Do i just download whatever package i want from opengapps website and use twrp to flash? Also do i need to remove or wipe my old OS before attempting to flash this one with fastboot?

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock android for your device.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. If you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Wiki.
Important Info
To flash this rom you need TWRP 3.2.0-0 or newer. https://twrp.me/huawei/huaweinexus6p.html
Make sure you have the radio & bootloader img's installed from the stock oreo 8.1 OPM7.181205.001 Dec 2018 factory image.
They can be extracted from the factory image on google's site here. Or you can use the ones linked below that I already extracted:
radio & bootloader img's: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=286833
Those img's can be flashed with fastboot command.
Note: There's an issue happening to some angler users on custom oreo roms. The first boot after flashing rom your sim card might not be detected. It's easy to fix. Just go to lockscreen security settings and change it to 'none' and then reboot. Then you can change it back to whatever you want. This only happens one time when you first flash oreo.

Note: LineageOS servers no longer make 15.1 builds for any devices. You can use my unofficial builds here. My older builds are here.
Note#2: if you want to switch from an official build to my unofficial builds, follow instructions here.
google apps (optional): https://wiki.lineageos.org/gapps.html (Use arm64 / 8.1)
root su addon (optional): https://download.lineageos.org/extras Note: Use arm64 15.1 zip. After installing the su addon, you can enable root in developer options.
Instructions
If updating from old unofficial to newer unofficial, follow the steps below:
1. if you don't already have them installed, flash the newest radio and bootloader img's linked above.
2. boot into twrp and flash the rom zip.
Reboot & enjoy.
NOTE: if you previously flashed gapps and/or the su addon, there's no need to flash them again. They will be automatically re-installed during rom zip installation.
NOTE2: if you want to switch from an official build to my unofficial builds, follow instructions here.
If coming from a different rom:
1. if you don't already have them installed, flash the newest radio & bootloader img's linked above. also make sure you have the newest twrp, linked above.
2. boot into twrp and wipe system & data & cache.
3. flash rom & gapps & su addon zips (gapps & su zips are optional).
Reboot & enjoy.
Weather Provider Addon (Optional)
For those that like the lineage cLock widget, here's the OpenWeather apk you need to get weather info.
https://download.lineageos.org/extras
Grab the one for version 16.0. It also works with 15.1.
Note: You'll need an api key from OpenWeather.

Forgot to mention in the first post. This has been happening on many custom ROMs.
An easy fix is to go to security settings and change screen lock to swipe or none, then reboot. That will remove the device protection that caused the no sim problem.
After the reboot, the problem is fixed and won't happen anymore. Then you can go back into security settings and change it back to whatever screen lock option you want.

It's weird though. I have unlock protection and got no issue when flashing this.
Can it also be related to your carrier or something?

Its not just caused by unlock protection. I posted details on the issue in my 14.1 thread about a month ago.

Hi, looking to potentially begin using custom ROMs on my 6P to help combat some battery and performance issues I get. With future updates, do I have to keep manually flashing the radio, etc firmware or can I just OTA/DL zip of lineage and flash? Seems like a bit of a pain :/

Hi, once a month you need to flash the new vendor for security updates
Google release them once a month (usually the first tuesday of the month)
However when you flash an update that does not require new vendor, you don't need to flash it
edit: just realised you're also from Melbourne, hi
Just have installed the last unofficial in my Angler, coming from another custom rom ( with Nougat). All good. Plan to stay here. Thanks !
Anyone having problems with the phone shutting down saying 0% battery when in reality you still have plenty of battery left? Just did a clean install and it happened after only installing chrome and whatsapp.

How to flash
- LineageOS 15.1 installed in order to use GSI ROMs (Optional) you can install over stock without problem. I've tested
- Download the latest build of Resurrection Remix ROM (I recommend to download without gapps and then install them later)
- Full wipe and factory reset (recommended / backup to make sure not to loose data)
- Flash the Resurrection Remix ROM GSI from the Recovery
- Reboot
- Gapps working on RR OS with the img that includes the gapps, but I'm not pretty sure If they work because of installing the image over stock ROM, and then I flash the fix given below, after flashing the image (try by yourself)
What's working
- Camera (use Opencamera o Google Camera) for gcam put into build.prop: persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=0
- Bluetooth
- Sensors
- Flashlight
- MTP
- Wifi (if it doesn't work, just wipe Dalvik/ART and cache with TWRP)
- Data
Not Working
- You tell me
- Navbar is not shown at the beginning, go to settings, RR Configurations and enable it

That's the way it worked for me, the version with Gapps are Go Apps from Android Go, sometimes you can use them without registering, but I don't know, sometimes they work and others not, you could try, but in my case I couldn't install gapps from TWRP, then I used RR with gapps

XT1921-5 Boost variant
It does not work using a Verizon SIM. This phone has all the hardware capabilities of working on the Verizon network, with all CDMA and 4G LTE bands.
EDIT: It also does not work with preformated EXFAT sd cards, always reports as corrupt. This problem was fixed years ago on many phones/roms, but this rom has this problem.
EDIT2: I just tried the SIM that came with the phone and that is doing the exact same thing except instead of blank signal icon on the status bar I have a no SIM card icon.
In Hidden Settings app, it shows this
Phone Number: Unknown
IMSI: Unknown
Current Network:
Signal Strength:
Voice Service:
Data Service: Disconnected
Voice Network Type: Unknown
Data Network Type: Unknown
Voice Call Status:
Roaming:
I've tried changing "Set Preferred Network Type:" but it does nothing. I have also tried turn "Mobile Radio Power" on and off and still nothing. I just have a blank signal bar at the top, nothing mentioning Verizon.
In Settings/Network & Internet/Mobile Network/ it just shows everything greyed out with it turned off. Any ideas?

fastboot flash system system-180818-arm-aonly-vanilla-nosu.img
after:

lastly:

Audio stutter/freezing when locked and on standby
Audio would stutter/freeze on standby (music and notifications), and audioFX was the issue, so thought to report and let the community know
to fix
1. reboot to twrp and mount system r/w
2. go to /system/priv-app/AudioFX and rename AudioFX.apk and delete the last letter to look like this : AudioFX.ap
reboot and audio should work properly
Hope that helps, And love the rom!

What This Is
This is a personal project to get Lineage OS running on my Pixel 3a. As such it is provided as is, though I will endeavor to provide regular builds and offer limited support as I am able.
What's Been Tested
This is my daily driver, so I've flashed ElementalX kernel and openGapps Pico over stock.
T-Mobile (at least), camera, wifi, bluetooth, gps are used regularly without issue.
What Was Not Tested
Root
Squeeze sensor
Gapps beyond Pico
Known Issues
eSIM doesn't work and has been removed
If flashing Gapps, an app downloaded at first-time setup Data Transfer Tools will crash constantly and needs to be uninstalled. This may mean you can't transfer data from an old phone to this one via setup.
Downloads
Lineage OS 16.0 Unofficial
Installation
I have not had success with an installable zip for TWRP yet, so the rom images must be flashed via fastboot. You should be familiar with fastboot before attempting to install this rom. It is recommended that you back up your current OS before installing a new one.
Installing this or any rom will void your warranty.
After unlocking OEM and your bootloader, boot into bootloader either with fastboot reboot bootloader or by holding VOLUME DOWN + POWER from power off, plug your phone into the computer.
If running on a linux machine with fastboot installed you can execute the flash-all.sh script included in the download. Alternatively or otherwise:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot -w (to wipe cache and data)
After installing, Gapps (ARM64, 9.0, see note in Known Issues), kernels, Magisk (UNTESTED) and other zips can be installed as normal via TWRP.
I Wanna Go Back
Up-to-date stock images are provided by Google and can be reflashed from bootloader.
Just follow the instructions at the top of the page.

Nice work! I'll have to wait until tonight to test it.

Does it support Google Camera fully (with motion and everything)?
Any hope of making it official?
Great work!

Let me know what you discover! I haven't tested wifi calling (wouldn't even know how) wifi calling works fine on T-Mobile, and while I looked through my logcat, I can't say I was entirely confident in my ability to read it...
Mostly 'access denied' errors on some gpu libraries and an error reading the squeeze sensor config (but only when I'm connected to adb).

Thanks! I hadn't tested google camera motion till now, but it doesn't look to be working works with Google Photos installed. Haven't had trouble with pictures and video otherwise through it though.
In regards to making it official, maybe with some polish. I'm new to the android dev scene so not too confident in my ability to maintain a project like this yet.
But I'll look into the process.

Yes, I get a lot of selinux errors in the logcat too. I haven't had time to research them.
The squeeze issue is odd, perhaps some uid is conflicting. I think these are set up in the init files.
Nevermind @koichirose, camera Motion works fine once I installed Google Photos. :good:

It's odd that it only shows up when I connect to logcat via adb. Local terminal logcat doesn't show me these squeeze errors.
Also, wifi calling working on T-Mobile :good:
Thanks for building. I had issues installing apps from the play store, lots of download pending despite force stopping play store and several reboots. Also magisk doesn't appear to work when flashed through twrp. I didn't try patching the kernel through magisk manager though. Good first look though!

I ran into this same issue - had to remove Data Transfer Tools (don't need root for this, since it was downloaded by gapps) and do a cache wipe to be able to download apps again. I think it blocks you from using the play store until you complete google's first-time setup, and this app blocks that (not to mention it crashes frequently).
I'll test out Magisk when I'm able. You may need to enable root access to apps in dev settings, but I'm unsure.
OMG thank u so much! Was waiting for this forever, hope you can make twrp zip

Is the device showing as certified without root?
Could anybody who has been testing out this rom give me any idea of what their battery life is like? I feel like mine has been much worse since flashing this. Dropped 10% overnight with nothing running and in airplane mode.
any chance for a 3aXL port? I've been wanting to do one myself but I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel so not much time to setup a build environment.

I get about 2 days out of a charge on ElementalX kernel, but I'm sorry to say I've hardly tested vanilla LoS kernel.
In my experience I usually have to go through a full charge cycle on a new rom then restart my phone for battery life to stabilize.

While I should be able to build an XL port, I won't be able to test it myself. Let me know if you'd like to run a build in beta.

What are the differences between this build and the last one? Maybe a change log?
This is a awesome build. I will say the launcher crashes at times but recovers fine. I also have to reboot occasionally to fix a bug in the sd card. It will randomly complain about the card not being formatted. It never occurred before departing stock. Running the Moto G Stylus 2020.
What exactly causes the stylus to die? Perhaps a script the runs an action in the Java app to jumpstart it?

Changelogs are done on telegram because i can't be bothered to update the xda post every month, maybe in the future ill have a github posted changelog, i remember the sd card issue being an issue that was complained about awhile back with havoc being extremely picky but i don't know what causes it, it dies because motorola uses proprietary stuff to start it in the background from what i can tell so its a bunch of manually editing the apk with apktool but the current brickwall is everything java is naturally output to smali files so you have to compile and decompile with that unless you want to try and do further processing which just leads to more issues. Its a big mess you when you look at the manifest and realize it uses the native android boot receiver stuff but seemingly not for starting the app. Eventually I'll get around to trying more things to fix it.

Don't bother.. a reboot is fine with me as I only use the SDcard as a "backup" destination. I use FolderSync to copy all internal storage to the SDCard daily. Then I do TWRP backups once in a while for a full system backup (in theory). I have Titanium Backup but.. it is seriously out of date and needs work in my opinion.
I love all the Pixel integrations. A lot of the time my power screen shows the home automation stuff. That is working right now. Think turn off/on TVs etc.
Looks like there was an unannounced build uploaded on. 11/25/2021
So, maybe you might need to upgrade
Have you checked the SD card format?
I currently use a 64gb SD card with exFAT file system format and I have not yet been able to test the rom because I need to save a copy of my internal data to the pc or SD card and I would like to use this rom more stable.
This may sound like a dumb question, but how do I flash this? Do I use TWRP and flash both slots? Or am I supposed to do it from my computer via adb sideload? I ask this because when I flash through TWRP, it doesn't work. It just defaults to the OS I had installed prior, like if it didn't flash it at all. Please advise.
Android auto doesn't appear to work with the included gapps. Anyway to fix it? Thanks

Install TWRP and when you flash it, it will flash it to the inactive slot.
If your phone is on slot A and you try to flash it, TWRP will flash it to slot B.
You can change the active slot by clicking on "Reboot" and you will see an option to change the active slot.
Was testing this rom out and was working great. But after the latest update 20220127, my phone started to connect to wifi hotspots randomly and forcibly even when I turn off wifi. Maybe it's a hardware issue but will definitely be switching back to the previous version. Overall, the latest update is faster in my experience besides that issue, thank you nice work!

We are very excited to announce Paranoid Android Topaz, based on Android 13.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with beautiful wallpapers from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app from the PlayStore.
Our builds are based on the Code Linaro Organization Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

i found thank you
Is camera working here? even if is an AOSP or MIUI?
Looks cool~
OMG I can tell you guys, it's maybe the BEST ROM EVER for Poco F4, It has the Oxygen OS Camera with all the effects working. The look n' feel is awesome!! so clean, so fast, so compatible with everything you need.
I didn't find any issues so far.
Just give it a try, FOR REAL!!
i have installed with recovery method and i had spark os previously and it overwriten over it like an update instead of clean update.
Anyway after that i wanted to first clean everything and then flash the ROM but i cant seeem to boot twrp from fastboot.
"fastboot boot recovery" does not work. tried both orangefox and twrp. This might be a bug.
I think i have to flash someother rom first and then boot into TWRP.

you using wrong command you need to boot into recovery by 'fastboot boot filename.img'
or flash recovery as boot by 'fastboot flash boot filename.img' after installing rom it will automatically change to aosp recovery also boot will restore

i am using the correct command, I was just lazy to include the .img in the comment i wrote. I did not try the "fastboot flash boot filename.img" though. This issue might also be because of the ROM overwriting last ROM.
Anyway, i reinstalled MIUI fastboot rom and then did " fastboot boot filename.img" and it worked this time. And then installed paranoid android after clean wipe. Everything working now.
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS of ROM,
wifi strength is little less. 5 Ghz wifi is disconnecting frequently and staying on 2.4ghz. I has to manually connect to 5ghz wifi multiple times even when i am right next to router.
5G on Jio is not working, used to work in spark OS I used. although i did change from 14.0.2 indian firmware to 14.0.4 indian firmware. I dont think newer firmware should break 5G but we nevere know.
since 5G is in trails we get unlimited data so 5G support would be nice. Also, i get 500mbps siting at home so that is a plus as well.
Wireless display casting is working.
standby battery seems very good.
I miss HBM. I feel like display could get little more brighter but i cannot do side by side testing so i might be wrong.
battery percentage inside a circle battery indicator would be nice, otherwise it is taking lot of status bar space. if not that then circle indicator instead of bar would be better to read the battery status.

sorry but what is working for me? i am confused by your comment
can anyone else confirm that their Google pay and Phone pay are able to activate the bank accounts, this might be SBI bank account related as well but sms verification failing from two days.
EDIT: its working, it is as stupid as selecting wrong sim for verification. But I was selecting SIM1 which was supposed to be my main SIM card and I double checked afterwards in the SIM tray and my main sim card is in SIM 1 slot but in software it is reversed somehow
Can using Indian MIUI firmware instead of Global firmware be the issue?
Does this Custom ROM Support Dolby Atmos by Ryzuki ?
Hand down best battery life among all ROMs i tried, it's not even close. I never get more than 5hrs since i enable every feature there is.
I still have to test with some of my apps that run constantly in background, like Google fit activity tracking, Resilio Sync(file backup),wavelet(audio convolution, basically corrects my earphones to more neutral signature),password manager, earbuds software, mi band app.
