HELP!!!!

:?
I tried to make an update with the file JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301
Suddenly the Display stop et 99% of the extended Rom Update and on my monitor was an infomation like "an error happend"
After this, nothing else happend .
Yes, realy nothing happens anymore. I cant start the device not with power, not with reset or with power+reset
nothing nothing nothing
What can i do
If i start to try a new update, it schows me no information about what rom etc. is installed or what will be installed. if i then start i get the notice, that it is the wrong device.
Help me please. ist there any way to put the mda back to live?????
I guess i dont only need an update but the complete software
HELP!!!
I have the exact same issue after the upgrade. Nothing will happen. I spent several hours trying resets, combination of button pressed, removed battery, resets, just to try to get back the boot loader mode but nothing is happening.
there has to be a way to do this and I hope someone on this board had that issue before and got it resolved.
I had a similair issue with my old XDA II, it turned out my storage card was corrupted. Use a card reader to check your storage card is OK, perhaps format the storage card (having saved any data first of course) and see how you fare
Have had the same problem wirh a radio ROM update on my QTEK9000. The anly thin that still worked was the hard reset. After the hard reset the device still did not respond. But when i connected it to the PC I could start the updateprocess of the original ROM. I took about 20 minutes for the whole procedure and than the Qtek9000 was back in factory default (Pffff and I could breath again).
So perhaps you can try a hard rest and then connect aganin to the PC.
I allready tried this!
But nothing happens.
Even if i put the power device or the usb into the mda, no LED schows anything. just sometimes the LED is red for not more than a minute. if it then goes out, i get the message "Unknown usb device" in my PC
Are you in bootloeader mode? Do you see the words USB or Serial on the screen of the Universal in Portrait mode. Note: Backlight is off so you have too look real hard, but it should be there
no, i see nothing.
I had quite a hard time yesterday while upgrading. The bootloader is very hard to see, use a torch to lite up your display. In portrait view on the top should be the word serial or usb, on the bottom v1.00.
I also did a hard-reset in this stage, but it just returned to the bootloader menue.
If I connect to the PC and the device is recognized I see the word serial in the display change to USB. For me I do not know the reason but my PC did not want to fulfill the upgrade process. Needed to take another PC (Laptop) to solve the problem. After the upgrade of the ROM, You still need to upgrade the Radio (this was my experience) before a cold-reset will put You back to business.
Good luck.

Having the exact same problem as gary_b and having performed quite a few upgrades, I can confirm there is absolutlely nothing on the screen. The unit will not go into bootloader mode or even able to do a hard reset. It is not recognized when plugged in the USB.
When connected to power and the hard reset procedure is done, the red charging light will come up for less than 1/2 seconds and disappear.
I tried all different combination to make it boot but nothing. If I could at least get it to bootloader more, I can revive it.
Feel very bad I cannot help here.
I was wondering Yesterday about one thing. IF, during all this upgrading process, the battery runs out, (as it does not seem to charge during upgrade process) will it show bootloader screen ?
Would it be possible to get a loaded battery from somebody to check yours ?
That is a good suggestion to try out, but I have been unable to find anyone that has that device. It might be simply a drained battery.
Mine got corrupted I think at the end of the upgrade right after I did a regular reset instead of teh power and reset procedure.
However, I would think that even with no battery in, the unit should power back up when plugged in no?
Maybe an idea for somebody who is doing upgrading now, and is in bootloader status anyway.
Take out the battery, but connect with USB to PC with ASync. Does the bootloader state show ?
I am sorry to not do it for myself, if You saw my desperate state Yesterday, You will believe that I am not willing to see that bootloader screen for some time, sorry.

now i know what to do:
Nothing!!
I went to a service-point with my mda pro and there was nothing to do with it.
If this happens the complete memory is "killed". Like "format c:" and while format is running you switch out the power.
Thanks god: I got a new MDA pro because i did not tell them (in the store)that i tried an update!
But i called the service-line before anf they told me that there is nothing to do!
But thx
Wow, can't say that this is good informatuin for those with this problem, but very glad it worked out for You.
I ve had this problem 5 minutes ago. Finally a took out the battery. Then connect to AC and Red led is on. Then i put the battery, tried hard reset and message to confirm hard reset in the screen (wellcome to life, jasjar). Then i run radio update again and it's upgrading rigth now....buffffff
I almost suffered a heart attack when this happened an hour ago. Have found that the update works fine if the SD card is taken out... phew.

Unlock the ext rom turned my device into a dead ppc, help please

I have tried to unlock the ext rom by changing the registry asdescribed in the forum, the result was a white screen tried a hard reset but the result became worser, a dead ppc with a black screen, only when I keep puching on the power button a red green light start flashing. I have tried every possible issue hard, soft reset. Tried to bootload from the sd card without a possible solution, can anybody help me out here, thanks
i guess there is only one option left, flash your device again
I have tried to flash again without succes, the flashing can happen only when there is a usb connection, the driver was not found and the ppc still dead.

Bricked. Only white LED. Battery Good.

Pretty sure I bricked my phone. Been digging through the forums all night and can't find anything.
When I plug it into USB I can get the White LED indicator. Only sign of life tho.
Can't boot the phone at all though. Always just a black screen; no backlight.
No motorola logo..
RSDLite won't recognize because I can't get into bootloader mode.
Battery is fine, checked it with a multimeter and I'm at 3.3V
Tried a friend's Defy battery.. no dice.
Any suggestions?
does your friend battery have a full charge on it?
it happens to me before, i turn the defy off, plug the charger, and left it for 30 to 45 minutes and i can boot afterwards. try it, might work for you too.
thanks been trying that out. his has full charge. I also mcgyvered mine and it's fully charged as well.. hmmm
what did you do that caused the bricked phone? did you try to downgrade it from 2.2 to 2.1? because that caused me the same thing, white led, rsd wont recognize it (windows error sound when plugged into usb), and i couldnt solve it, had to bring it back to motorola...
sent from my cm7 defy...
i have read somewhere in the devs forum about a corrupt bootloader experienced by one of our friend there. try to look into that and possibly get you some clues. Another possibility is to remove your sdcard, my crappy class 6 gives me a white lights only boot when im still in froyo, although it happens only once or twice. at this point, might as well try it out eh?
you need to flash with rsd it will read the phone is stuck in bootloader mode download your stock sbf and flash with rsd it will bring your phone back to life!!
make sure you remove battery plug in usb cable then replace battery while holding the vol + key

I actually purchased it from someone who said that it was bricked. I am trying to get back in touch with them to find out what happened but no info yet. I've been trying to deduce what could of happened. But one thing I'm almost certain of is it wasn't water damaged. As I said the battery is still intact and I've never seen a phone go without taking the battery with it. Moisture indicators look fine as well.
I don't get any sounds when plugging the phone into USB. Device manager doesn't even blink. Can you return to Motorola if you are off contract? Any info on how that works? Not giving up yet, just wondering.

Thanks, I will definitely look into that corrupt bootloader situation. I pulled the sd card (been in there the whole time) but it didn't make a difference. There wasn't really much on the SD Card except for a few empty (autopopulated) directories: LOST.DIR, .android_secure, etc.. and the stock froyo SBF file for the phone: p3_jordan_umts_2.2.1..(blahblah).sbf it's a US T-Mobile Defy.
So it likes like maybe the previous owner was trying to flash. Although I don't know why they would put SBF on the SD.

RSD doesn't ever see the phone at all. Thanks for the suggestion. Tried to insert battery after plugged in and while holding vol + key but no difference. Been trying all sorts of key combinations from the forums but no luck there either. The drivers are completely up to date.
All suggestions appreciated! Thanks guys!
any more ideas by chance ?
It's a silly thing, but have you tried pressing the power button AFTER connected USB? Anyway try switching Config-->DeviceID options in RDS.
I was stuck at your point, only white led, hacked the battery and it has been recognised by RDS after some unistall/reinstall... try, try and try again
This happend to me too (black screen, only white led) when i tried to flash some korean froyo. I just removed the battery, connected usb, put battery back, power + vol [+] and RSD recognised it (even if screen was black)
I confirm (I had the same problem...) that your Defy is not bricked :
- don't connect the phone to the PC
- launch RSDLite and choose your SBF
- remove the battery cover (of your phone of course, not your PC ! )
- remove the battery
- plug the USB cable only in the phone
- your phone in left hand, press power + vol.up with 2 fingers of the same left hand
- put the battery into the phone with your free hand, so the right !
- when the white led appears, you can remove your 2 fingers from buttons
- then plug the USB cable in the PC
- RSDLite recognize your Defy !!!
- you can flash...
Sorry for my bad english !
If all above suggestions still fail on you. I would think it might possibly the USB port is broken or some hardware issue which is why it was sold to you as bricked Defy in the first place.

Hard Bricked D820s - Flashed with Insufficient Battery

I flashed my HTC Desire 820s Dual Sim with SP Flash Tool v5.1532.00 to load a Lollipop ROM
I made the mistake of flashing with only 40 percent of battery power when it had been necessary to have at least 50%
Now my phone is fully bricked
does not boot or fastboot or into recoveryred blinking light while charging(not charging even becuase doesnt boot and the battery display doesnt appear as usual)when connected to PC, i hear the double blong of connection followed by the double blong of disconnection and this repeats in sync with the red flashing light
from what i can gather so far from other threads and googling, it must be below 10% battery power or even zero
I tried to recalibrate it, charged it over night etc but nothing worked
if it didnt boot but was still detected by the pc, i cudve used adb fastboot
if it wasnt detected by the pc but still booted, i cudve solved that too
however since it cant be detected and is in no way bootable, im facing a real problem
i'd appreciate any help on this matter. thanks

1. Hold POWER - phone starts but when display elephone logo (1 second) telefon turn off
2. Hold POWER and POWER + - phone gone to bootloader, and them whatever i choose (recovery, normal) phone starts but after shown elephone logo turns down (like 1.)
3. Flashed stock rom via Flash tool (format + download) - like 1.
4. I have unpluged battery

I think you have to leave it charging for a while before you are able to turn it on again. Just give it some time

Try another charger/usb cable, just in case the one you're using is defective, or charge the phone connected to a computer

Hi,
I have/had the same problem. The problems started, with the phone powering down, at half the battery level. Then I got a spanish battery overheating message. After the message appears, the problem starts.
I solved the problem like this :
First you have to completely drain your battery. How to do that ?
- Go to the boot-menu (press power on button, and volume up at the same time). Select : Fastboot. The phone will halt. BUT, keep your phone in that state, so it consumes energy. After a while your phone will go out. After that : go again to your boot menu, but DON'T select any options. After a period of ± 5 minutes your phone will go out.
- THEN : remove your SD-Card, and SIM-Card.
- THEN : Connect your phone with the net-usb-charger. DON'T connect it to your PC.
- After 1 to 2 hours of chargeing, your down center button, should start glowing blue again.
I got my phone working again 2 times using this method.
I hope it works for you.
Phone Restored with this method! Thanks pal!
worked for my phone
thank you very much
