Phone dead (screen broke), should I disconnect battery from the board? - Moto Z2 Play Questions & Answers

So, huh, my Z2P is dead (the screen broke) and I guess I won't be able to even pay the cost of the new replacement screen.
They are charging 75$ for a GENERIC, non-original replacement screen in my nearest repair phone store.
Seems like a bad deal to me, so instead of paying those 75$, I got this nice used phone in 100$ called Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite.
I have one question, should I disconnect the battery from the board?
And if disconnected I don't have to charge it again? Or should I charge like every once in a month?
I know that having lithium batteries totally discharged for a long time isn't good at all.
So I guess I won't be participating in this forum anymore. Was pretty fun while it lasted.
BTW, it seems that this battery isn't 3000mAh at all, it says 2820mAh.

Sorry LEo. I guess I don't understand why you want to charge the battery if the phone is no good?

The phone can be repaired but some batteries die when they aren't charged in a long time, and as long as the battery is connected to the board it will keep it draining very slowly even if the phone is not turned on, this may cause the battery to be completely drained out, and if not charged every once in a while it can die pretty quickly and never charge again.

[Q] Discharged battery on arrival

How many of you did receive a dead battery on arrival? Some people in sweden did and they claim to have terrible batterylife according the themself. This units dosen't seem to survive a day with easy use. Could it be a connection here with a dead/over-discharged battery and the terrible batterylife that some experience?
How many of you did receive a dead battery on arrival and does it perform worse than avarage?

Uhm I got a normal one but a dead battery could be a bad sign considering this kind of battery technology doesn't like being on low % of battery. If your battery had 0 % from the start it could really damage it.
There could be a link between an empty battery and bad battery performance.
(Just my 2 cents)
My phone didn't arrive dead, but they turned it in for me in the shop and it died on me on the way home. Plugged it in to power and it took ages before it displayed a flashing orange light, then another good 15 mins before I got a solid orange light and it was charging to the point where I could turn it on.
That said, here are my stats today.

I would expect to get over 4 hours screen on time, which seems ok to me, considering we should get further improvement with updates.

LG G3 Turns off randomly, when turned on again, shows much less battery percentage

So, I have an LG G3 D855 for about 2 years now, it has the original firmware, never rooted, never flashed, all original...
And, recently it has started to turn off by itself randomly, when I turn it on again, it shows much less battery percentage that it had when it shut down...

Does anyone knows what could be causing this, and how to fix it?
I really want to avoid buying a new battery, since it's price is much above average on my country... A replacement one costs around $46 here

You need a new battery definitely ... You could try to calibrate the battery, factory reset and see if that lets you get by ... But slowly it will definitely get worse

Lg g4 battery dropping from 70% to 3%

Hi everyone,
This is my first post and it's because lately my baterry on lg g4 h815 is dropping from 70% to 3% or sometimes turns of and then the battery % starts to go back up. Does anyone know what's going on? Why this is happening?
It first started with the original battery. I bought a new one thinking it could be a dieing battery but it is doing the same thing.
I will leave so screen shots to illustrate what I am saying.

You bought a fake lg battery
Invest in a power bear battery
I have same problem a couple times. The battery has been original, for couple years have phone, i think battery counted his cycle, but read a lot who buy a new one big change don't see. And now with a two year old battery charge 100% scroll down instagram, facebook, play game ~10min, the phone is getting warm already, and battery gave ~70% veryyy bad :/ 60-20% have phone restart, some times just restart, some time restart and battery have 3%.. 99% I get restart when I turn on instagram, when the phone battery is less than 50%..
It's difficult to buy a legitimate battery. I've twice bought them from Amazon and they ended up being fakes that would fall out of the sky randomly.
Anybody know a good source for the United Kingdom?

Buy a zerolemon or powerbear battery

(N5100) Blue triangle after battery replacement.

Hi,
In last weeks i found out, that my Note 8.0 has battery issues. Having 50% and making ex. Skype connection after 1 minute just shuted down. This was dead battery. I ran some test and i found that having 75% is dangerous. So i bought new battery and replace it. The new battery came charged to ~70%. I ran about 30 minutes. Second day i turned tablet on and started to working normaly , when suddenly screen started to flicker black to normal and repeated few times. After that screen gone black. I've connected charger to Note and all i could see was Battery image with blinking blue triangle [see img]. I've examined battery and found out, that one cord was broken. So i repaired it. Still no effect. Note works only with charger, without inserted battery. Sadly theres more. Last time i was working and suddenly tablet gone down. Without warning.
Anye ideas will be helpfull. I've searched for a solution, but i was fiding similar problems with overheating icon, but not with this blue one.

What happens if you put in your old battery? If the problem persists, I'm afraid the some circuit on the board has been damaged.

I'll try with the old baterry, but first i need to solder connection cables
I've done it. I plug the old battery back into tablet and i dont have problems with charging. It looks like the new battery is broken.

current limiter

ello guys I have a LG G FLEX for many years I can not let go of it, I have already bought several spare parts they are always getting the high price. I got tired of buying batteries. they always have a problem with me that is, the phone restarts even with a high battery percentage it always restarts depending on the application that is used, doing some tests I got the battery charged I used a multimeter I tested the poles all ok, I tried to turn on a weak led without problems, everything turned on smoothly, I used a lamp that consumed more current, so the battery started to drop to zero at intervals, I opened the battery and tested it without going through her circuit, I tested it directly on her poles so there was no problem, so the problem was in the circuit small battery, I tried to do a search I didn't find much I saw a video of a gentleman saying that he has a limiter in the battery circuits but the circuit he presented was totally different from mine, I'm not very deep in electronics I took about three old batteries and I tried to find out what that limiter would be and I pulled out a component that I think might be it but I'm not sure yet That's why I come here looking for people with more experience in the matter, I even added a power bank battery to my lg today it turned off twice I already think that the part I removed can't be the right one I'm leaving the circuit photo here . it would be easy to just remove the circuit but if I do that the cell phone will not show the percentage anymore I won't know when it charges and it will be dangerous, so I need the circuit working but without the current limiter, I thought of an electronic schematic in my head I'll leave the image here too, I don't know if it will work, I need the cell phone to read the battery percentage and at the same time not limit the current.
