Hello,
What happens in "Device manager" when you plug your cable in? Is it listed?
Good luck...

I was having an issue like this with my previous 3XL. It would say Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) . I tried multiple PCs and nothing worked. Ended up using my extended warranty and paying the deductible to get a replacement which is working fine.

all that is coming up is google nexus ADB interface, it seems like the drivers will not install properly. I cant get it replaced under warrantly as i had to get it second hand due to lack of money. It connects and windows makes the noise to inform its detected the device but no matter how many times i manually install the driver it does not work and windows does not seem to auto download the driver, this is something ive noticed on all machines I have

I change the usb connection to mtp from charging but does not change. Also does not recognize it when i connect to pc. Also does not pop up on status bar and i checked portable devices. I also tried installing the oneplus drivers. i am on Android 7.0 freedomos-2.5. Any way to fix this issue? i might try to update freedomos because im on a old version of it.:crying:

I have tried it on both my PC and laptop with both windows 10. Does not work. My PC also has windows 7 still seems to not work. Are there any other drivers i might be missing?
i have also done some research that you should update your drivers from device manager. I dont see anything related to my device. i went to portable devices nothing and i dont have a other devices section in device manager. Any help?
What recovery?
Try to flash latest twrp. I use blu-spark by eng-stk. You can fla**** thru recovery or Flashify app.

ive also found out theres no kedcom driver when i go to fastboot. i even reinstalled adb drivers to insure its there but it does not pop up.
You'll need to remove drivers reboot, install correct drivers, reboot and then be nice to everyone you ever meet and it'll show up. It's a real pain but you can get there. XDA tutorial all the way there!
I once have kind of youre problem connecting to my laptop (win.10). But, at work, on that laptop, connection was ok (win.7).
I reinstal windows 10 and connection works fine, since.
I allways use latest TWRP & version of rom. I can't tell for sure what it's goin on with youre phone.
If i was in youre situation i format my phone (this will erase ALL in youre phone). And if PC still does not see the phone reinstall windows.
Also: Try a different cable.
A cheap cable could have a charging pin layout but lack data pins connections.

Driver issues win 10
Find the excellent tutorial here on drivers.
For some reason my phone didn't show up but was able to receive commands. It was frustrating because I wanted to use the all in one XDA product but couldn't.
Even if you installed drivers they can be broken!
Do drivers from scratch per xda tutorial. Don't forget reboot!
Try different cables and usb ports! My front ones never seem to work!
Don't just try fastboot commands also try adb. Like I said mine wasn't seen properly yet it took the commands.
Unless your windows is a years old install it shouldn't require reinstall.
Factory phone reset might help.
Best of luck!

Can't connect it to computer

So I tried to flash a rom last night and by accident I hit the option to return the phone to factory. Long story short I can't transfer files and when I try to do fastboot threw that wugsfresh I think it says that my cable is bad I've tried all my cables on all ports. Any ideas?

Is it file transfer in...
- Android?
- TWRP?
- ADB or MTP protocol?
Does fastboot register a new item in Windows device manager? If so, what's the device's VID/PID?
All of the above require different drivers. Please try the following:
- https://www.xda-developers.com/google-releases-separate-adb-and-fastboot-binary-downloads/

What about USB VID/PID from Windows device manager? Are you on Linux? If so, post the output of "lsusb". This information is critical to troubleshooting the issue. If in TWRP MTP you get USB\VID_18D1&PID_4EE2 then your PC has a driver problem. If you get USB\VID_000x then your N7 or the cable are faulty.
Let's assume the most likely scenario where you have a broken driver in Windows. In this case, go to the device manager and delete the existing driver associated with Nexus and reboot your PC. When it is running again the driver will be reinstalled and probably OK. If not, get and run this app http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html and compare it to my N7 in TWRP MTP.

Whyred not showing USB options when connected to the PC and only charge

The issue is a bit weird, it's not about drivers, the device doesn't even recognize that it's connected to a PC, tried different cables, turned on USB debugging, different OS's too (Windows and Linux), and the problem isn't with the PC. I clean everything in recovery and it didnt connect PC when using recovery too. :crying::crying::crying:

And this one is even more weirder!
Sometimes the laptop recognizes the device, and the other times, that is mostly, it doesn't.
I'm using whyred (Note 5 Pro), with Pixel experience plus.
I tried changing the USB cable 4 times;
Tried restarting the device;
Tried Restarting the PC;
Tried Installing google drivers; BTW laptop does recognized my Samsung Galaxy J7 prime;
Thanks in advance

Problems with USB connection

Hello! I have a mi A2 lite, I can't connect it to the computer using USB, it doesn't install drivers, it doesn't appear on installed devices. I've tried all the tutorials available on YouTube, but it doesn't work, does anyone know what I could do to fix this?
- I already downloaded the drivers and installed manually, but nothing changes.
- I've tried on multiple computers and none work
- When I bought the cell phone it connected, but after a while no more.
Does anyone know any solution to this problem?
Thanks!
what rom are you on? I'm using the latest 11.0.7 android 10 and its perfectly fine for me.. maybe you can try to factory reset your phone

Did you allow the phone to talk to USB. You must use the notification to enable file transfer or set the default in settings or enable debugging if you want it to show up to USB.

It does not appear the notification, but I have already tried to activate by the settings too, I already connected the debugging mode, but it also did not work. When connector it only loads, there is no other action.

I have the same prblm ...... any solutions? Help me please
Same here on v11.0.12. Its a driver issue. You need to install latest xiaomi drivers + qualcomm drivers. I fixed it before but it doesnt work again after i uninstall drivers.
I connected phone to PC with only old original short cable, no other cables worked :/
Have you tried to clean phone's USB socked? There are some spray contact cleaners, that can be used for this purpose.

Question Phone not connecting via USB

My first Poco F3 is completely unlocked and running a custom rom, still able to connect to PC even now.
I have a second Poco F3 that I was able to originally connect to my PC to debloat, hadn't needed to connect it to a PC till now. Today was the day I could unlock it but when I connect it via USB cable, original or otherwise, no usb options appear on phone and nothing shows on PC. I can use the same cable on my first Poco F3 and everything works fine. I've tried multiple cables, reinstalling drivers, restarting phone and PC, trying a different PC, enabling debugging tools, etc.
Nothing shows in "My Computer"
Nothing shows in Device Manager
No usb options on phone (default is set to File Transfer)
Nothing shows in CMD with "adb devices"
Charging still works
Is there anything I can do to at the very least unlock the bootloader? Or is this not fixable?
long shot... check the usb C port for dirt/dust/fluff blocking connection...
Most probably u debloated an app responsable for media transfer. If u can, revert what u debloated.

Did a factory reset thinking that may have been the case, still no good.
Tried cleaning out the port and still no good either
I still think it's Windows. Please can you try putting Ubuntu (or another Linux distro) on a USB, booting from that, installing platform tools (ADB/fastboot etc) and then running ADB devices. Windows is very finiky sometimes.
Edit: when you plug in your phone to the PC do you get a notification saying charging? Or is there no notification? Also does it start charging the phone?
There is a delay before it begins charging and the charging animation plays but yes it does. But then there is no usb notification. Will try ubuntu and report back
Booting into Ubuntu, before installing platform tools the first phone that I knew worked showed up and showed up in adb devices when platform tools was used. The second still didn't show up, exactly the same as on windows
Try downloading the installed stock miui rom from the update menu in the miui update menu and re-install it on the phone
Unfortunately reinstalling latest package didn't help
Can't think of anything else to suggest. Sorry
If the usb connection continues to be nonexistent, is there any way to at least unlock the bootloader without using the Xiaomi Unlock tool on the PC?
Are you sure the USB cable you're using support transfert file?

Hmmmmm.....strange! I'm running out of ideas....try different USB ports on PC. Maybe it's a faulty USB-C port on phone after all.

Yes. Used 4 different cables, 1 of which is the cable that comes with the phone. None work on this phone but do on the first phone.

Try to use this version of Mi FLash Tool (only for drivers) : https://xiaomiflashtool.com/download/xiaomi-flash-tool-20210226
Extract and launch the executable then drivers install
Something like this. You can plug in any usb stick and see if it is detected. Another way to check whether the port on the phone is working for data as well

I don't have anything like this but that reminded me of the usb-c to headphone adapter and that also doesn't work. Sound just plays out of the speakers.
Trying with Android Auto in the car, the car doesn't register a device connecting at all either.
Either the data transfer portion is somehow disabled on the device itself (which I would love to know how to enable it again if that's the case) or it's a damaged usb port. Just strange that it worked a week ago.
Something I forgot to mention, when I went to unlock the bootloader yesterday the phone did not show up anywhere except for in the ADBFastbootTools to debloat the software as a OnePlus device but then never showed up again.
