LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

This is amazing!
Been running it for the past hour.
Installed core gapps with it.
Everything working fine!
Besides the fact that 5Ghz Networks are not found. After reboot they appeared.
Screen was a bit choppy at first, but after installing all my apps and letting it run for a few minutes it is buttery smooth
Gcam is working perfectly aswell.
Thanks alot for this rom!

Thank you sir!

The screen is little weird, i mean colors are weird. It's fixed after turning the screen off and on. But there is the same problem like LOS 17.1 with battery, the idle drain is bad above 1% per hour. You can try ask other devs for example from RR rom. He had fix it, before it was same bad idle as LOS 18 and 17.1.
Without this battery issue the rom is snappy and fast. No major issues so far.

I loose 5, maybe 6 % of battery over 8 or 9 hour sleep time

I couldn't flash gapps in linage recovery via adb sideload, i managed to reboot to bootloader, flash twrp and install core gapps there, however i stuck in bootloop after reboot.
Have anyone managed to sideload gapps via lineage stock recovery?

I had the same problem. Kept getting error 21 Signature verification failure when adb sideload gapps.. Gave up and flashed back to 10.0.11.

Boot twrp and flash lineage
Reboot recovery and you will have lineage recovery, enable adb and reboot bootloader to boot again in twrp
Flash gapps and reboot system
If don't boot system, reboot to lineage recovery and format data

Wasn't it that digital well being causing the drain. I think I remember reading that was why rr removed it. Maybe Los should to?

Important Info
To flash this rom you need TWRP 3.2.0-0 or newer. https://twrp.me/huawei/huaweinexus6p.html
Make sure you have the radio & bootloader img's installed from the stock oreo 8.1 OPM7.181205.001 Dec 2018 factory image.
They can be extracted from the factory image on google's site here. Or you can use the ones linked below that I already extracted:
radio & bootloader img's: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=286833
Those img's can be flashed with fastboot command.
Note: There's an issue happening to some angler users on custom oreo roms. The first boot after flashing rom your sim card might not be detected. It's easy to fix. Just go to lockscreen security settings and change it to 'none' and then reboot. Then you can change it back to whatever you want. This only happens one time when you first flash oreo.
Download Links
rom: https://download.lineageos.org/angler
Note: LineageOS servers no longer make 15.1 builds for any devices. You can use my unofficial builds here. My older builds are here.
Note#2: if you want to switch from an official build to my unofficial builds, follow instructions here.
google apps (optional): https://wiki.lineageos.org/gapps.html (Use arm64 / 8.1)
root su addon (optional): https://download.lineageos.org/extras Note: Use arm64 15.1 zip. After installing the su addon, you can enable root in developer options.
Instructions
If updating from old unofficial to newer unofficial, follow the steps below:
1. if you don't already have them installed, flash the newest radio and bootloader img's linked above.
2. boot into twrp and flash the rom zip.
Reboot & enjoy.
NOTE: if you previously flashed gapps and/or the su addon, there's no need to flash them again. They will be automatically re-installed during rom zip installation.
NOTE2: if you want to switch from an official build to my unofficial builds, follow instructions here.
If coming from a different rom:
1. if you don't already have them installed, flash the newest radio & bootloader img's linked above. also make sure you have the newest twrp, linked above.
2. boot into twrp and wipe system & data & cache.
3. flash rom & gapps & su addon zips (gapps & su zips are optional).
Reboot & enjoy.
Weather Provider Addon (Optional)
For those that like the lineage cLock widget, here's the OpenWeather apk you need to get weather info.
https://download.lineageos.org/extras
Grab the one for version 16.0. It also works with 15.1.
Note: You'll need an api key from OpenWeather.

Forgot to mention in the first post. This has been happening on many custom ROMs.
An easy fix is to go to security settings and change screen lock to swipe or none, then reboot. That will remove the device protection that caused the no sim problem.
After the reboot, the problem is fixed and won't happen anymore. Then you can go back into security settings and change it back to whatever screen lock option you want.

It's weird though. I have unlock protection and got no issue when flashing this.
Can it also be related to your carrier or something?

Its not just caused by unlock protection. I posted details on the issue in my 14.1 thread about a month ago.

Hi, looking to potentially begin using custom ROMs on my 6P to help combat some battery and performance issues I get. With future updates, do I have to keep manually flashing the radio, etc firmware or can I just OTA/DL zip of lineage and flash? Seems like a bit of a pain :/

Hi, once a month you need to flash the new vendor for security updates
Google release them once a month (usually the first tuesday of the month)
However when you flash an update that does not require new vendor, you don't need to flash it
edit: just realised you're also from Melbourne, hi
Just have installed the last unofficial in my Angler, coming from another custom rom ( with Nougat). All good. Plan to stay here. Thanks !
Anyone having problems with the phone shutting down saying 0% battery when in reality you still have plenty of battery left? Just did a clean install and it happened after only installing chrome and whatsapp.

I left my phone overnight and the lag seems mostly gone now.
Do note that I left it to charge overnight, and iirc since Oreo, if the device is fully charged, it begins optimizing the dex files to produce oat files which perform better. Now I am a bit rusty regarding Android ART internals so I may be wrong.
Either way, it's a night and day difference and my phone is much smoother now. (PS: I am also using firekernel, but I flashed that yesterday with the ROM)
---------- Post added at 08:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:06 AM ----------
Anyone else having issues flashing Magisk? More specifically, does TWRP (3.2.3) crash while flashing Magisk?
Do note that I use firekernel, so this is in no way a bug report or complaint to our awesome dev. I'm just asking if anyone else is having issues.
PS: I don't mind making a bug report on the stock kernel if someone else also has this issue on stock.

First time installing crDroid to your device, or coming from another ROM?:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

Many thanks to mg712702 for putting this together - looks great!
A few notes:
-I was upgrading from Lineage OS and I needed to not just wipe /data but do a reformat to get it to boot - I was getting "please enter your android password" prompts on boot even after flashing. TWRP may seem to fail with the message "couldn't mount /data" but try rebooting and it may just have worked enough to boot.
-I originally flashed ROM + gapps and the camera worked fine. Without gapps the camera crashes. (as pointed out above)
- I tried to install Magisk - TWRP rebooted suddenly halfway through the install and now the ROM hangs on boot. Guess I am going to have to reflash.
Stable Pie Rom
Everything is working on my Z00T!
-Camera works on stock ay first boot but there are time that it crashes but reboot it fix it

I've tried dirty flashing over a few ROMs like Bootleggers, AEX Oreo, crDroid Oreo & LOS 16. Most times it works at first boot, sometimes they wouldn't work at all. Or it may even not work at first boot but after restarting it might... or after a couple of reboots. But generally in my experience if it manages to work on first boot (or first 2-3 rather), if I restart again the camera will not work anymore. Tried the LOS 16 method of clearing cache and all but to no avail. It's pretty unstable I would say (the camera I mean).

I had the same problem but I found I could install 17.3 and then I did a direct install of 18 from the manager. You might try this. Great ROM by the way. Thanks to the developer for keeping the ZOOT alive and up to date.

I'd like to clarify why I started this thread...
@jomadeto was providing us with crDroid's images for Xiaomi Mix 2 (chiron), however now he doesn't have the time to do it, so we have agreed that I was going to build A11 images where he left it so that people using crDroid could have security updates.
He was doing a great job, he even had A12 almost ready, it was only lucking proximity sensor support, however... he recently started poking me about A13 builds around, so we started looking at it.
With @jomadeto pushing me in the Android 13 direction and urging me to test crDroid 9... we have worked as a team and have managed to bring up our first Android 13 release, based on the great work that the LineageOS guys had done for LOS 20. So, we have released crDroid 9.1 and we will be releasing 9.X versions as default from now on.
While the plan is to continue building crDroid 7.X for some time, we'll eventually stop building it and only build 9.X, so... whenever you feel confident... you can upgrade, however, please note that to get from A11 to A13 you'll have to format, dirty flashing is not supported, so making a backup before the upgrade is always a good thing.
Enjoy our Mix 2 with crDroid under A11 or even better, A13.
Regards.
Thanks guys, really appreciated.
I hope someone can make the proximity sensor works on A12 or A13. In any case it is important to have a perfectly working A11 crDroid with security updates.
Hi!
Very good news, we've been testing the new Android 13 code and we are getting ready to do the jump!
That's why I'd like to ask for testers before we upload it for everybody.
If you want to be a tester you have to contact me on telegram but... I don't use this nick there, you'll have to look for the guy with my avatar on crdroid's channels.
Otherwise... Just wait a bit and you'll get it anyway. crDroid is releasing 9.0 this month, let's see if we can get there in time, if not... We'll be there for 9.1 for sure ;-)
Anyway... For those that don't like to hurry... I plan to continue building 7.X for some time after we publish 9.X.
Regards.
Hi!
I have just uploaded verision 7.26, if you are a cautious guy that's your version right now. But if you are brave and intrepid, maybe you want to help us test version 9.1, we believe it is ready to be uploaded, but we'd like to test it a bit more.
If you want to help testing what will become the official 9.1 version if we don't find any weird surprise... just drop me a private message here or on telegram.
Enjoy. Regards!
Well... I hadn't planned to do it so soon, but there haven't been a lot of testers, so... here we go, even though I'll be building 7.X for a while.... the default will now be 9.X.
I have uploaded 9.1 a while ago, and I'll edit the thread in a while, but just to warn those of you that have seen it already and want to update... you cannot do a dirty flash, you'll have fo format data and system (this means erase it all), so... backup to be able to recover whatever you want or if you want to go back
Thanks to @jomadeto for pushing so hard these last days, we make up a nice team
Hope you like it.
Waiting for 9.X, so excited. Good job guys. Hope this ROM won't be abandoned fast
Btw I want to ask you guys, if you know where I can get ROM for xiaomi redmi pro with android newer than A6? If not then this phone is going to trash bin
Thanks, that's very good to see this old device still getting updated by guys like you.
I will try it as soon as possible !
I follow the install procedure. 1.formatting data 2.wipe everything reboot into recovery 3.flash ROM 4.flash Gapps then reboot to system. after that twrp becomes encrypted
After flashing crdroid my phone boots with gray screen (my screen was replaced so I can only run orangefox beta twrp)

I revert back to the previous ROM with the same twrp and procedure
I am using orangefox R11.0.0
I have done a full wipe, flashed the ROM, then gapps.
But is there any way to decrypt the partition with the recovery ?
Do I have to use the defaut recovery from the front post : https://sourceforge.net/projects/crdroid/files/chiron/recovery.img ?
And by the way, the rom smooth as hell ! I love it ! Thanks bestiatester and jomadeto
Thanks for the work. But this build seems to drain the battery faster than A11. The A11 consumes 3% for one-night standby while A13 is about 7%. I just install NIKI Gapps and nothing more. Any advice?
Try again your test because for me the battery drain is very similar to the crdroid 7

Hello. After various tests of Android 12 and 13 builds, I find that they all held less battery than Android 11 (specifically CrDroid). For me it was 4-4.5h SOT on 11, and an average of 2.5-3 on 12 and 13. Now I have LineageOS 20 (although I plan to change to CrDroid 9), which holds quite well, because 3h SOT. I will add that I use many Google services, which will certainly lower this result.

That's weird, which recovery did you use to flash Crdroid 9? Have you installed Magisk as well?

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Upgraded yesterday following the Lineage upgrade instructions. Went without a hitch, all data migrated successfully.
So far it feels smooth and have not encountered any incompatibilities or bugs. The new camera is pretty neat - massive improvement over Camera2. Animations are slightly improved throughout (app switching specifically stands out) and the fingerprint sensor is quick to respond. Theming is also more customizable, which is nice.
Overall I'm happy with the update. Do a backup and give it a whirl!

What backup method you recommend? Havent had any luck last time with the old school ones.
The old school ones!
Code:
adb pull "/sdcard"
and
Code:
adb backup -apk -shared -all
Most data is synced/stored off of my phone so there's not a lot to lose if the worst happens and the thing needs to be nuked.

Thank you, meanwhile I was too curious and flashed it and I got one question. Can CTS Safetynet be passed? One of my banking apps refuses to work now and on my previous ROM everything worked perfectly.
You'll need to install Magisk to pass Safetynet.

Do you know how to resolve the problem ? Do I need to reinstall ? Thanks !
I hear LOS20 has a new LoS camera.. can anyone tell me how is it?
Does it do justice to all the lenses?

Has anyone been able to successfully run banking apps and wallet apps on this with Magisk? I'd like to know as I've had to stop running root due to banking apps. If you have, could you please tell me the sequence of steps you took? Everytime I root in the past, even using Zygisk and hiding the magisk manager, after a certain amount of time the apps would find root and stop working.
REQUEST:
Can someone please upload the Camera app apk with its default profile XML?

I have banking apps running inside shelter sandbox (work profile) and have Magisk installed with the normal hiding options in the main profile. No problems so far.
Thanks, upgraded. At a first glance it works well though I will test further.
Preserved Widevine L1.
Since I have been reading about problems with Widevine reverting to L3 during oem unlock on OOS 12 I migrated straight from LOS 18/ Android 11.
If anyone needs to repeat the steps for widevine:
I had unlocked on OOS11 EU ROM preserving Windevine L1 and installed one of the last builds of LineageOS 18.1 - now Installing is no longer relevant so we can directly move to updating firmware.
Then I downloaded and updated using the instructions in the device page https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/hotdog/fw_update
At first the recovery fastboot option was not working for me so I updated platform-tools to the last version and installed the USB Driver (probably it was the culprit as previously it was showing as HD1917 and now it's HD1911 - this can be an issue if you only had your drivers installed for a different "model"), booted a recent recovery and did the rest of the actions from the advanced fastboot setting in the recovery.
Flashed latest nightly, recovery, rebooted, flashed gapps and the new patched magisk boot image and everthing is still working fine ... actually it seems to work better now.
A big thanks to LuK1337 and the LOS team!
On the banking apps topic - in the long run It's a lost cause I think. Only one of my banking apps doesn't work though and 3 others work fine with hiding. The weird thing is all sorts of apps complain about the modified OS - even apps for ordering pizza, etc. I really don't get why they would be interested if my phone is modified or not.
The only minor issue in upgrading is that device showed my phone as not secure so I had to remove my work profile and add it once more.
The other upgrade changes like having to reenable magisk modules and similar are expected.
The way I got all my banking apps and Google Pay to work is as follows:
-Magiskhide Props Config to Nexus 6P
-Hide Magisk Manager
-Zygisk every bank app+google play services
-Universal SafetyNet Fix mod by Displax
It was a chore but seems to work for now.
By the way battery life really tanked, especially while idle.
