Thin fit, minimalist case - Google Pixel 5 Accessories

Anyone using this kind of thin fit, minimalist case? Any recommendation? Thanks.

I'm holding out for the likes of Peel, MNML, Totalle.
Well, those types of cases, not paying the £20/30 they're asking when they'll pop up at some point for £4

Here what I found:
https://www.amazon.com/Luibor-Googl...d=1602878597&sprefix=luibor+pi,aps,226&sr=8-5
I am leaning to this:
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B08G8...cer+Google+Pixel+5&qid=1602940526&sr=8-9&th=1
I don't really like Peel or MNML. I have MNML for Pixel 2/2XL and it is very slippery. And after few months, it's loosen and stretched.
Totallee has it already, but quite expensive and I have no idea if it is good.

I was debating the totallee, had it in my cart for so long...but too expensive for what it is. Plus they advertise 0.02" (which is about 0.5mm). MNML is 0.35mm advertised. So should be thinner.
I have the MNML for my Pixel 3 XL and love it, but it also stretched around the fingerprint (I think maybe due to device heat).
Anyways MNML has a 2 year warranty which covers this, but you have to buy from them. I just bought it for the Pixel 5, use code THEO30 Still expensive, but cheaper than Totallee, and probably slightly better quality control than the super thin ones on Amazon.

I have ordered a Totallee one, it's on pre-order, ships on 30th October (finger's crossed), I'll put up some pictures after it arrived!

That code brings it down to £22.37 for me in the UK.
Delivery 7-14 days.
Jeez.

Yes...expensive still....
It says it ships Oct 24 and will deliver to me in Canada in 5 business days. Pixel 5 is still on pre-order until Oct. 30 so I'll get the case before my Pixel 5 comes

I had the MNML for my P2XL. It's a super thin but hard plastic right?
Is the (clear) totallee more of a super thin flexible TPU?

Yep, MNML is super thin but hard plastic. Never used Totallee...the clear looks flexible, and the rest look like MNML (rigid plastic).

Anyone used Spigen thin fit? Not as thin as MNML or any of those but looks quite slim with some protection.

There's a review on Amazon where the author describes it as "surprisingly thick". Looking at the pictures it appears at least as thick as the depth of the camera module.

That looks really nice. I'm trying to find a minimal case like that, but with the texture of the oneplus sandstone case. Love that texture and it never showed any fingerprints.

This Spigen has better grip than MNML.

I was fan of
- Ringke Slim
- Spigen Thin Fit
Which I used in my Pixel 2 and 4 respectively.
However the Ringke one is not available for Pixel 5.
The Spigen one is different, now it has the buttons covered with fake ones.
So I ended up going with:
"anccer Compatible for Google Pixel 5 Case, [Anti-Drop] Slim Thin Matte Hard Case, Full Protective Cover For Google Pixel 5"
Which seems to be similar case. If it has a similar mate soft grip I'll keep it.
A green version will arrive today. However I want black. Not in stock. I'll get black later if I like the green version.
I'm not sure if black and green have the same soft finish which I like because of the grip

Spigen Thin Fit is not thin at all.
Very disappointed...

I've received this one in Green (only one in stock)
And the only complain is that is not as grippy as the Spigen Thin Fit or Ringke Slim.
Maybe the black version is more grippy? Or maybe the finish needs to get wasted a bit

Both. But more smooth than rubbery.
Is smooth as if it had some talcum powder around but maybe because is new.
My 1 year old Spigen Thin Fit in black is a bit more grippy than this brand new Green case.

Diztronic, hands down.
you might consider Tudia Ultra tough, but it's bulky.
What about flip case? Does anyone have any experience with good brands?
I'm looking for something like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-OnePlus...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item58b4d13365
http://www.amazon.com/OnePlus-One-Case-Revolution-Manufacturer/dp/B00TL4EUW0
I recommend this case and a tempered glass protector, you just rip out the plastic one in the case

I didn't like that one. I ordered this one: http://m.ebay.com/itm/181532810218?_mwBanner=1
And the screen protector: http://m.ebay.com/itm/271845140819?_mwBanner=1
I got this yesterday in mail (black and white colour). Very happy with the quality and all the ports/mic holes perfectly centered. sturdy feel. I dropped my phone 3 times without the case (luckily not much damage at all.. just minor ding on corner) and then i thought of buying a case before it has spider web screen.

Cruzerlite Bugdroid
I have been using the Cruzerlite Bugdroid TPU case. It has a slim profile while feeling quite sturdy and able to withstand a drop. All my friends who have the OnePlus One have this case. It comes in a very very wide variety of colors, too. The only downside is that it does fade after a while, but it really isn't that bad or too noticeable. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the product. It is easy to find on Amazon.
Hope this helps.

Make sure you get the one I linked to, with the slightly bigger corners, better protection
I've had the Diztronic case for around 7 months now and it's been perfect. Protected when dropped, not too bulky, slight raised lip on screen side to protect screen when placed screen face down.
The only negative I can think of is that it does add a bit of weight to the phone, although I'm sure that is inevitable based on the protection it gives and also the sturdy nature of the material it is made from.

Exactly... you want protection? Then you're gonna feel it
Try a casemate barely there on your phone and see if it protects... makes me wanna cringe immediately
I wouldn't wanna droptest with that on, or any other "lookyoucanhardlyseeandfeelmebecauseIamsothin" case
if you like TOTAL protection i recommend TWO cases TUDIA OMNIX and POETIC. i have the TO and my experience to it is that the covers of the audio and charger ports are not good if you use them for a prolong period of time they dont go back easily i mean there is a small part of the cover that tends to stay open.
FOR POETIC, i saw reviews both Oneplus.net and amazon they say that it is much better than TO it is much thin than the TO and the ports are much better.
Another great feature about the Diztronic is the way it covers the side buttons and gives them a more sturdy feel. I got another case previously and it had cut out for the buttons, but it was a pain trying to press them as the OnePlus One's side buttons are so small.

I picked up the Ringke Fusion Clear case off Amazon. I am very disappointed by the whole thing. It does not fit the 1+2 in almost every detail. The case does not extend beyond the screen so if placed face down the screen will touch table or counters surface. I tried to show pictures off the main misalignments.

Last I looked didn't that case take like 3+ weeks for delivery?
I just got my OP2 and my accessories at the same time now! I have the Dual Layer Defender Protective Case Cover with Kickstand and damn it's bulky and hard to hold in my hand. I had a MI3 and OPO naked before (broke both phones and now I've learned my lesson) but I've been stuck with a 5C for a week. Hopefully I get used to the size and heft again of a 5.5", though this is the heaviest phone of all...

Many reviews of the gray case put it over stylecover but webstie says "Please note that to use this case you will need to remove the device's StyleSwap Cover as it is designed to snugly contour the OnePlus 2 without adding extra bulk." could you put picture with this case as recommended by one plus ? I've attached pictures of my phone and the case with my stock back cover and without (you can see my serial). It is very weird without. I can definitely feel the back as hollow and missing something. I'd advise to keep it on, it is as slim as can be. That's odd the website would say that if it fits without the back cover on.
I bought the Diztronic tpu case because I had it for the OnePlus and was very satisfied. Although it is roughly the same case as for the opo the finishing is not as good. There is a shiny edge where the camera is, which could have worked out great but just is not. The case is also not as tight as for the opo and corners will slip off the phone when getting it out of your pocket. On the other hand the case is still from a very durable shock absorbing material and the edge that stands out over the screen makes sure that the glass doesn't shatter when you drop it. The thing I like about it most is the fact that it simply makes the OnePlus look more humble. No thrills just a nice phone. All and all a good case but not as good as its predecessor.
im not happy with this at all..i have the black apricot..it is quite a bit thicker than the sandstone..im very disappointed in oneplus to sell styleswaps with different thicknesses..
I have both the orzly invisicase and fusion bumper..
with the invisicase..it loses the facedown protection..the screen comes out on top of the edges..because its too tight..the corners/edges will slipp off with a small touch..
with the fusion bumper..you clearly see it doesnt fit the contours of the device..especially at the cutouts and the top&bottom..
also the cutout for the usb port is too small for the standard oneplus cable (have to use some force) ..while its cut perfectly for the usb cables orzly is selling..
basically..these cases are only designed to use with the standard sandstone styleswap while intended for the other styleswaps..

SlickWraps - Not previously a fan but...

the fit was actually pretty good on the G6. I think it's because of the chamfered edges. The fit on my iPhone 7 Plus was horrible because of the rounded edges. I didn't like how the fit and finish wasn't quite as perfect as my OCD demands. I ripped that one off practically immediately. On my HTC 10 I had a Nude wrap that was terrible because the glue on it could be seen right thru the clear skin as well as all the slight imperfections. It just made a gorgeous device look pitted and ugly. So for the LG G6 I got a skin that wasn't see thru but had a design. I got the StormTrooper because I felt it complemented the platinum G6 well. I only wanted the back skin but unfortunately they only sell the set. This is probably the first SW skin I'm happy with. Check out my YT vid here:

Dbrand is nice, but they don't have any real leather (or wood for that matter) skins, just leather textured ones.
Then again, you probably couldn't fit the phone in a case after sticking some leather on it's back either so both versions have their pros and cons.
Thanks for that video... I have actually ordered the slickwraps and waiting to be shipped to Canada...
Edit: I got mine and put it on... Looks real nice, and I credit myself for doing a good job
I got a Dbrand sticker for mine, just to cover the ugly fingerprint magnet shiny black back, because I don't use a case. It looks really great and it fits perfectly, without interfering at all with the fingerprint reader or camera.
I got a Carbon for mine from SW, it's pretty good. Usually go with DBrand but they don't offer any options for the sides.
Huge Thanks!
LG G6 = Indian Unit (870DS) || Skin = Slickwrap - Dark Brown NATURAL SERIES WRAPS || Side Skin = GT-5000 Grip Tape || Launcher = Action Launcher
Just want to throw this out there for those who are considering a leather skin.
The leather skin is of great quality, but it is rather thick and will not be compatible with most cases. They are different from Dbrand leather skins in that respect. The quality, as i said, is great, but due to the thickness they dont fit with cases. I would estimate that the skin adds about 2 mm of thickness to the back.

No.
You can make any skin a pixel skin; cut the top off.
Just to let you guys know, Slickwraps currently has a 50% off sale!
And thanks for all the info in here. Since my G6's glass back is already pretty scratched after a few months of use and as it's the worst fingerprint magnet ever, those back wraps look like the perfect solution.

same here, when i do want to use a case, and ruins the edge corners and sides. and my favorite case is the ringke case, since its slim and not too bulky, just the clear part gets alot fingerprint smudges which drive me crazy!
Looks awesome! Might have to try this out.
I wish these skin companies would make some kind of "easy application" system where they would make skins that can be put on/applied to a case like the MNML or PEEL ones so it would be easy to take on/off your device while still remaining relatively thin. This way you get coverage of the back and sides, unlike the way the OP did it for their case where it's only the back.

has anyone found a good bumper case?

I'm waiting on the Rhinoshield but I'm curious what you guys are using.
The poetic affinity case is great . It's better than the unicorn beetle subcase and the ringke case too. UB scratches way to easy . The ringke is good but the poetic has like a honeycomb look to the back with the same black around it. Also the poetic is firm and it's design doesn't scratch . It's screen protector friendly too.. I've got all three but got the poetic last ..here's pics think you can tell poetic one

Me too but waiting for Amazon to carry it. It took a couple weeks after release for then to carry the op6t rhinoshield.
IMHO, all of those cases are ugly AF
I'm not the craziest fan of the affinity design but it is what it is

Yep, have it and like it a lot. Not bulky, not overwrought design, and feels good in the hand.

I've heard complaints that it's very slippery?

Seems about on par with my Pixel 2/3XL's cloth-covered case. Not the grippiest, but I haven't had issues - for full disclosure I do have a loopy loop installed on mine (post for reference) so it never gets out of my hand, but I didn't have the case modified until a week or so after getting it, and I didn't find it too slippery. Honestly the weight of the phone is what made it slide out of my grip the most.

It has excellent grip whoever told you otherwise is a fool.... I've had it in since day one and it's great not slippery at all. looks good, feels good, and has great protection I've used it on my op6 and now this device. It never disappoints..... Unless you keep your hands covered in crisco all the time.... Don't be a Butterfingers it's very simple
I love the rhino shield bumpers. But I don't suggest you pre-order from the website. The last time I pre-ordered from them it was released to Amazon on the exact same day my case was shipped. With the Rhinoshield website i had to pay shipping and it took about 5 days or so to receive. Had i bought it from Amazon prime, it would have been free shipping and i would have gotten it in 2 days.
Oneplus Nylon Bumper SUX
!!!WARNING !!!
DONT BUY THE ONEPLUS 7PRO NYLON BUMPER
I bought it 3 Weeks ago and now the first Nylon fibers come out of the Case.
I am really carefully only in my pocket and after 3 weeks a 35 dollar case gets broken???
And there is NO refund after 14 Days for any Accessiors from Oneplus so i get nothin new.
Bad bad service its only 1-
Fyi save 10% on rhinoshield website with code excessorizeme. Found code on a YouTuber page that reviews them. Not affiliated in anyway. Just saving the community 10%. Lol

What do you mean? Do you have pictures?
I use this one
Not a bumper case but the OnePlus carbon fiber (made by Evutec) IMHO is the best for thin and adequate protection. I love (Evutec) cases, wish they made more models. It's a bit pricey but worth it. Even with months of use (iPhone XS Max), the case wipes off and looks new.
I got mine at the TMO store but I believe it's this one:
https://www.oneplus.com/product/oneplus-7-pro-protective-case
There probably are thinner ones but protection factor goes way down from there.

It's not slippery, but it isn't very grippy either. I own both the Nylon OnePlus bumper and Ringke Fusion X camo. The sides of the nylon case feel like a smooth hard plastic, which doesn't offer much grip or protection. The sides of the Ringke case feel a little more "rubbery" which offers a little more grip and protection. However, the nylon case is much better quality. It is a very tight nylon stitch , with a felt inner.
I change between the two depending on my day/mood. If I'll be out and about constantly taking out my phone for photos or gaming on the go, I'd probably use the Ringke for that extra protection. Most regular days I'll use the nylon for it's slim profile and premium feel.

This.
Also, like I've mentioned before, the buttons can be a bit stiff for some. I have to slice into the sides of the buttons with a razor in order to make them more "clicky" like buttons on a Spigen case.
Rhinoshield refuse to admit their buttons are too stiff.
I use the casemate case sold through TMobile. It's a bit thicker but the glass back on the device leaves much to be desired.
