MIUI 12 Ram management - POCO M2 Pro Questions & Answers

I have a 4gb variant. For some reason, about 2gb RAM is always free no matter how many apps I open. What tweaks can I do so that RAM is used completely?

How much free RAM are you guys getting?

Im on 10.5. 4.4.2 NFB. Debloated rom. Stock kernel and touchwiz. Most services frizes. Even samsung accounts.
Omly get 1gig Free RAM.
WHat the heck is the rest of the 3gig RAM being used on?:silly:
It is used for caching etc. Same on Linux.

i have about 60% free , maybe about 1.5gb in use ?
Yes, after fresh boot mine shows 2,71 GB total, 1,6GB free, 0,98GB in use.
But after launching (and closing) couple of apps it should use all RAM for caching finally. You do not get it back free even after killing the app. So this number doesn't say anything. What's in the cache depends on what you have been doing so far.
Don't forget a considerable chunk of ram is used for the screen's memory. The Nexus 10 has the same screen resolution as the Tab S and it's overall free memory is reduced due to screen resolution.

1 GB is reserved for swap. Usage can be viewed with disk info app.
mine varies around 1GB free however not all the time and why i feel that 3GB of my S allows it run much better than my Pro 10.1
i really dont care about the status of free vs used etc.. UNLESS like i experience on my personal computers it becomes clear a device just needs more to function smoothly.
my example i have a Mac Mini that was running sluggish and with 4GB ram it generally had about 800MB free during my workday. i installed 8GB ram and now it generally sits at 5.7GB used all day where when it had 4GB it sat at 3.2GB used
point is the Mini wanted about 5-6GB Ram to settle in around but would run on 4GB if it had to with constant work to keep 4GB limitation working.
i find that with having a 10.1 Pro and 10.5 S that more than 2GB is needed and 3GB seems to be enough but can tell when the 1GB is missing on my Tab Pro.
Using clean master, genic and disable many Samsung applications I've reach 1,37 Gb used of 2,7 total.
No lag using games and chrome beta.
Some application is possible to disable only via the drawer.
Correction... 1,33... :silly:
I get 18xx after cleaning with task manager

Can you lower the ram usage?

Hi there,
I have the ZF2 with 4GB of ram. After a couple of days of usage, it seems impossible to lower the ram usage below 1.8GB even when I clear the cache of all apps.
However, when I restart the device, my ram usage is below 1GB.
I have uninstall or disabled every app I could without rooting. & I don't want to root now.
Nonetheless, I would like to keep the ram usage of my device as low as possible (2GB of ram use seems a lot to me, especially when I have one or two apps open)
Did you find a tricks or ways to keep 2gb or more ram free at all time ?
Thank you.
Simply, there is no clear way and those numbers are normal. The best memory management is with native linux, not yet available on zenfone 2.
What's the point of always having 2gb of free ram? RAM is completely useless if you aren't using it.

It's not a question of useful or useless. It's a question of is it possible and if yes, how.
Yes, keep the phone in deep sleep with all apps closed and disable everything in autostart , better yet, you can just power off the device
p.s: not even custom roms will run that low, I had cm12.1 with lg g3 3gb ram, I disabled basically everything and phone will still boot with at max 2gb free ram, maybe 2.2gb if you start killing launcher and sytem apps lol
4Gb ram with 2.2-3Gb free Ram is plenty for a cellphone. Its even plenty for a desktop unless you run hard core 3d games like crysis.
The lowest I have seen is 150Mb/1Gb usage with Nexus 7 v1 tablet yet it was hell slow. Note that the more Ram you have, the more the system will use it and cache in it. This will increase apps loading speed since they are directly loaded from Ram vs local storage.
I would love to have an app that lets you select what to cache in Ram, e.g. large high-resolution PDFs that take forever to open and load :crying: I have 300-800Mb PDFs that will take 1 min just to open.
Indeed, an option to decide what to cache would be great.
Can we expect less usage and caching with the 5.1 update or with a custom Rom?

You know you're not actually getting an extra GB of ram on you device's ram board right? SWAP is an old Linux trick, similar to window's virtual memory. That extra GB of ram comes at the expense of your SD disk storage space. If you really press for memory, get an app call the ram manager pro. It provides you with extra memory space by app management, and it also comes with the swap file space adjusting capability.
Are you referring to Ram Manager by Jewul1 or an App of a different name? I have Cheetah Mobile's "Clean Master" installed but have never enable the Boost feature as I do not know if it is credible. Can you be more specific regarding the application you are referring to?

[RR] Pie - RAM Management

Is it normal for Android OS to use this much ram?
This is a 4GB variant, I have like 2.1 to 2.5GB of free ram on boot. After using the device for 3-4 days (without reboot) the phone used to become extremely slow. I am using Kernel Audiutor to manage the heap now. Still, is it OK for Android OS to use this bytes?

Increasing the amount of RAM

Hello. How to increase RAM to 4-6 GB? Who can become a donor?
Sorry for my English. My Google Translate Assistant
You can't magically "increase" your hardware RAM to 4 or 6GB, but instead you can set a virtual ram environment using internal storage, which helps the hardware RAM to not force close any background apps due to no ram available, install this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.allakore.swapnoroot&hl=pt_BR&gl=US) and set the space that you want to reserve for RAM swapping, you can even do it without root.
Thnx)
Unfortunately, software magnification does not solve the problem. I wonder if I can raise my memory mechanically
I know it's possible. On other devices

Hello, I installed the application in the link you gave. But I couldn't create partition for swap space. It gives an error. Is there any other method to improve the ram of my device
