What's CAF?
CAF stands for Code Aurora Forum. It's a fork of AOSP which is well optimized for Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to plain AOSP. In addition to the opensource CAF android base, these builds also use Qualcomm's proprietary Android 11 Board Support Package (BSP) for Snapdragon 665, to ensure maximum compatibility and functionality with Android 11. It can also be called an engineered ROM, as it's built from pure CAF sources and BSP in the same way OEMs do.

FAQs
Q: Is MiuiCamera included?
A: No, the MiuiCamera from android 10 doesn't work in 11, so a fresh port from Mi A3 is required whenever android 11 is released for it.
Q: What's the 4 or 5 number beside the wifi icon?
A: It's a CAF feature which shows the 802.11 generation number. 4 stands for 802.11n, 5 stands for AC, 6 for AX and so on.
Q: Does the main rear camera have yellow tint? This bug was there in AOSP 11.
A: No, it has been fixed.
Q: How to get weather in at a glance widget? It just shows me the date
A: There's a quite simple trick for this, just add another instance of at a glance widget manually onto another home screen. The one on the main home screen gets refreshed automatically!
Q: This ROM is laggy! Expected more since its CAF.
A: Most importantly, let the ROM settle after its booted, janks will eventually disappear. In my testing I've faced no lags at all except in the first 10 mins after booting. Do keep in mind that this is an initial A11 release, both from CAF and my side. The kernel used (QSv2) is also in its early stages as it's entirely rebased on android 11 kernel source.
Q: Next update when? ETA PL0X
A: Updates will be dropped as soon as CAF releases a new android 11 tag for our chipset (trinket) or when there's a new security patch available. Please do not spam XDA or telegram for ETAs.

Have you updated the firmware?

Are the Aux Cams are working? Incl.48MPX?
Thanks for the Hard Work

Thanks for this! Works very good by just following your simple instructions!
I have a question: how can I enable bubble notifications / chats like you've done on the screenshots? Again, thanks a lot for bringing Android 11 to Redmi users!

every time i reboot, it's loops 4 times which gives me anxieties... i thought the loops only at first initialization but it stays whenever i tried rebooting, thankfully its always boot to system but the loops really smh, rebooting on this rom is quite an experience
i installed that magiskR, is this the cause?
edit: clean installed once again but flash dfe after install rom and magisk at next reboot
NO BOOTLOOPS and boot very fast, rom is smooth no lag and battery usage is better than caf q (reloaded)

Big fan of your work, thanks for another amazing ROM
Edit: I'm also having the reboot problems reported by @nneko904 (although they don't bother me). Also, File Transfer is not working when in system, only in recovery
Edit2: updated Magisk to v21 and Manager to 8.0.2 and seems like reboots are gone. Procedure is as follows:
- Install MagiskR.zip as described in initial post
- Boot to System, go into Magisk Manager
- Setings > Change Update Channel to "Beta"
- Update Magisk Manager via Magisk Manager's initial page
- Reboot
- Go into Magisk Manager and update Magisk. Don't use Recovery Mode, and choose Direct Install. Wait for it to finish and reboot.

Q: I can't find external sdcard in /ext_card, Why ?
A: Go to /storage you can find there
Q: Where is old browser ?
A: Removed from nougat and replaced with simple shell browser, Use 3rd party browser for all features.
Q: I can't find live wallpapers ?
A: Removed from nougat.
Thank you @PecanCM.
You are really fast. :highfive::highfive:
Yay! FINALLY! We love you Ron
Review: Processing...
Awesome @PecanCM!
Thanks for bringing AOSP Nougat 7.0 to xm!
Smooth and functional for an alpha release!
Thank you!! Gonna test it now!
Thanks for new taste of Android!
Tips:
- Launching persistent TWRP not supported. Only built-in 2.8
So if you have adopted sdcard you can't restore backup.
To fix flash CM13 kernel.
- OpenGapps for 7.0 here
- Feature spotlights here
- File manager in Settings > Storage finally can install APK's, useful for first boot.
- To use 2 apps at same time hold and drag thumbnail in Recents
- Double-tap on Recents works like Alt+Tab (like long press in CM)
- In dev options new option to force move all apps on adopted storage

FOTA TWRP (recent, most likely 3.0 only) is known & fixed,
logo loops on and on, nothing opening right?
Thanks for confirming.
Thanks a lot, Ron!

can you please share cm13 kernel?
Look likes our XM always infront of the other ..
Tried!
Everything's working fine, except:
1. Camera not working.
2. No live wallpapers.
3. Music app crashing every time.
Does anyone have success flashing GApps? On Opengapps wiki is stated that it needs additional ROM patching to disable APK Signature Scheme V2.
---------- Post added at 22:47 ---------- Previous post was at 22:44 ----------
BTW, if FOTA recovery is not working, I can repack the boot image with the latest TWRP 3.0.2-1.

Yes, like all ROMs for our device (and maybe for our entire SoC family).
Can any user test WiFi hopspot for me. And also if pokemon go will work without bugs (sorry I have no time to DL and test myself ATM)
So here are results of my brief testing:
- It booted VERY FAST as there is no ART cache compilation after every update, cache is generated on-the-fly combining JIT and AOT compilation. BTW, not only first boot was fast but the latter ones too, much faster than CM13.
- First boot with Opengapps Pico for 08.26 led to Setup Master's FCs at some moments, yet after some painful experience I've succeed adding Google account and even restoring my apps and settings, which was quite surprising (I was amazed when noticed my ringtone being restored to that from CM13).
- 3G is not working, at least for me. Only EDGE.
- Getting root with the current version of SuperSU appears to be impossible, at least for our device.
- Phone seems to be less responsive, but maybe that's just me, because I regularly use it overclocked to 1.4 GHz.
- TWRP 2.8.0.0 and not working FOTA recovery, seriously? I was forced to repack boot image with the TWRP 3 (just quickly grabbed that from NUI as I'm lazy to repack recovery ramdisk for using in boot image). Some report it working but for me it always booted to the built-in TWRP, both by Vol- and Vol+. BTW, I can upload repacked boot image tomorrow (it is on my personal laptop, I'm writing this from my work one).
I would certainly use it as daily driver if there were root and NUI kernel available. It is very stable for such an early alpha (gosh, Ron started working on it a couple days ago as sources were published) and such an old phone (it debuted 3 years ago), we are very lucky to have so custom-friendly hardware and such a talented developers as Ron and guys working on msm8960 board (another reason I think is that there were no any bringing-pain-in-the-ass changes like ART in 4.4/5.0 and adoptable storage in 6.0). Great work, PecanCM!
I'll continue my testing tomorrow and revert to CM13 later until new SuperSU and NUI are released (or maybe forever if I'll buy new device soon).

Does formating data format the internal storage completely or just the data partition on the internal storage?

What bug are you getting for video playback? I haven't been having any issues. Volume down ± power is taking screenshots for me without issue. Traffic indicators as in displaying upload/download speed in status bar? That's a feature that needs to be ported to Android 11 builds, this is the first 11 build and is essentially just vanilla AOSP.

Does this ROM have the option of setting 2 different Ring tones for 2 SIM Cards. Please advice
I am facing battery drain issues with this rom after flashing it , any tips.?
My review for the rom.
So i have been daily driving this rom and it have been great for first android 11 port.
But there are few fixable bugs which i think can be fixed easily.
Problems
The rounded edges are distorted.
The raise to wake feature turns the screen in the pocket.
Double tapping right on the Finger print sensor doesnt wakes the screen up.
Battery life is not good (not sure on it lol. But using this rom my phone went below 10% battery first time ever.)
And the final really irretating bug is the dolby sound. If chosen music preset the audio sometimes suddenly decrease and increase.
Idk if this happens on every stock rom but i have to hold the buttons for the screenshot just quicly tap used to work befor if i remember correctly.
Overall a great build. Great Work.

What do mean the rounded edges are distorted? They look the same for me as they did on any Android 10 rom. I just reflashed back from the Octo-whatever build but I get on average 36 hours per charge. Think the longest I've had was about 62 hours with this build. I also self host a handful of things because I don't run Gapps or micro-g, so that greatly helps with battery life.

Fast charging doesn't work in china models, although you can fix it by flashing A10 kernel for which you must be decrypted.
Yes it has micam.
Well, it's just a PE based ROM. I won't ask questions this time . Just tell me something makes me change into your ROM and voila!

Thanks for reply. Will you make it available in the next ROM version?
Thanks.
Thank you for the work, btw I have some questions: Is MIUI Camera included? Is the notification volume channel separated from the ring volume channel? I want my phone sounds louder whenever there is an incoming call but not when there are too many notifications come. I tried some 3rd' apps to fix it but when I adjust the notification volume, the ring's one is modified to the same level as the notification's too.

For that I'll have to release two variants of the same rom, one would be the regular one, and the other one with Android 10 kernel and decrypted build. That'll take me a lot of work.
I'll highly recommend you to flash Android 10 kernel with decrypted rom to fix it. Let me know if you want me to link a kernel.

Mostly its your local operator issue, its working fine here.
Try updating Dialer from the playstore for crashes.
This ROM is now certainly the fifth on my device (willow), but probably the last! I finally found it - a ROM that finally runs perfomant, smooth and so far without system crashes. This ROM is simply to recommend. Thanks a lot!
So far I haven't encountered any bugs - at least serious ones.

I am glad to hear that. I am waiting for your new build.
I just tried PixelOS on my Willow (Note 8T), and I find it really good. There are just two bugs or limitations to fix:
1) Cannot use the Revolut banking app. Indeed, to connect, Revolut takes a selfie with the camera and does facial recognition. In practice, the selfie is taken well, but the application remains blocked on the photo made of me. I never had this problem with other ROMs. Of course, I tried to uninstall/reinstall the app.
2) Most of the other ROMs allow you to delete the free space under Gboard, which allows you to paste the space bar at the edge of the screen (Cf screenshot below). I haven't find how to do it with PixelOS.
Otherwise, for the rest, a system that seems stable and pleasant, thanks for your job

The facial recognition thing should have been fixed.
This is a pixel based rom and doesnt pack extra customizations, you can surely flash magisk mods to get rid of that space. Although even the latest Pixels have it the same way.

In addition to performance, Battery backup has been outstanding on this ROM. No heating issues during charging and mobile hotspot - hotspot is on for the last 24+ hrs. Hoping it to be carried on in the next builds as well.
Only the battery usage information after last charge is getting reset in the middle or it could be the only bug have noticed. Please help me in case it needs to be resolved on my device separately.
Attaching the screenshot of battery usage for reference.

Great rom, been using it for a day now and running smooth. of course there are things from source like notification light options which don't mean anything to us
Also one suggestion, there are rwtinga in the battery options such as designed and current battery capacity which are just listed as "unavailable". Is this something you would look to fix in your next build? Oh and also even though it's unofficial, why not out your name in the maintainer field in the about phone sections

- Improved the system
- Added some new customizations
- WireGuard integrated into kernel.
- HVJ* and HVK* firmwares will now be supported for install.
- Vendor partition reverted back to EXT4 from EROFS.
- Dynamic Encryption based on recovery.
- F2FS filesystem support restored.
The only problem I encountered while using it was the fluctuations in the charging speed. Fast charging is enabled, however charging starts at 12W and drops to ~4W. While I was charging it from ~75% it has stopped at 88% and don't want to go no way further. Everything worked fine on the original system. Apart from that, the system is very nice to use.
Device: S10, installed instead of HVJ
@FreeRunner2017 thanks once again for your amazing work. I ran 4.3 for a few hours and found that music ticker on ambient display doesn't work, even if the option is enabled. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? If so is this a source issue?

I thought as much
Also it appears that SD card works fine however when plugged into PC isn't recognised. Wasn't like this in your build of 4.2......not sure if it's just me but I wanted to flag

Did u allow it on your phone when u plug it in, you need to change it from charging to file transfer.

Yes, usb file transfer. Pc reads internal storage just fine but can't find sd card. Also tried an older version of Solid Explorer can't find sd card normally either which hasn't happened on any other a13 rom thus far. Might be an issue with sd card permissions within rom, unless I'm missing something?

Ah unfortunately I have already switched to another rom. Pity though as I am a big fan of cherish but source has been famous for having bugs that are never fixed.
I'll list a few bugs that I found whilst testing during the 2 hours or so that I tested (some look like source bugs, others maybe build specific bugs)
1. UDFS options force close
2. When setting custom avatar/display picture for multiple users, unable to bring up picture reel (therefore you can't actually set a display picture from file)
3. That issue whereby only internal storage is recognised when plugged into a PC, even though SD card works fine otherwise (might be a permissions issue, see my experience with an older version of solid Explorer above)
4. Music ticker not working (likely source issue)
If I remember more I will look to post. Otherwise feel free to pm me or telegram me on @Colonov if you need a tester
