Pixel Buds or....? - Google Pixel 5 Accessories

Anyone using any wireless ear buds that support wireless charging BESIDES the Pixel buds? Could you recommend me a pair? I have Anker wireless buds now but I wanna get a pair that wireless charge so I can use with my eventual P5. TIA
Pixel buds are too expensive at $179. My Anker ones were $30 and they are great. If the PB price drops below $100 I could consider them but not now.
I was considering the Samsung Buds Live (Beans) cuz I got a pair for wifey and they are pretty good. But similar price point to PBs.

I love my pixel buds. I ordered the Galaxy Buds Live and wore them for 2 minutes and hated them. Thinking about posting them on FB Marketplace. They are brand new.

I own a galaxy buds + and i love it! And it's a half priced than the pixels, i get it for 100€!

get these ones, they're the best in that price range by far

Love my new pixel buds. no complaints

My Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 work very well and sound beautiful with my Pixel 5 (they are currently £89)

Since I live in France, I've received the Pixel 5 included ear-buds and I assure you they're terrible by all means! Your ear can't hold the bud, no matter how you set it up and don't expect any kind of isolation/noise cancelling. The sound is a pity.
In short, Google put them in the package by the law (in Australia & France) and he's definitely not trimming its margin!

Sure, this is not an Apple-specific-feature, it works with every connected end-device (even with my Garmin Forerunner)

Hm, interesting.
On Android you can switch between ANC on/off, Track Pause/Play, Next Track
Via 3rd party apps you can add several other features.
Volume change works neither on iPhone nor on Android.

My airpod pros work flawlessly with my pixel 5.

Im using Jabra Elite Active 75t (mostly for work calls) and Jabra Elite 85h (music on phone, watching TV and playing gaming on laptop).. both sounds amazing... ANC not the best in-class but the voice quality is top notch...
they both pair easily to the pixel 5.

how's noise cancelling with Pixel Buds? impressive?

I can understand why you hate them. Just looking at them I know I would hate them too. Hard plastic is why I never wore earbuds when I was younger. It wasn't until silicone tipped earbuds came out that I started using earbuds.

Yeah, the Pixel Buds really are too expensive but any decent sounding ones will be unfortunately. I'm not going to spend anymore than $50 on any headphones that I'm going to have to replace in 2-3 years.

I ended up buying the Anker Liberty Air 2. They were 50% off at Best Buy. Has all features I need

Best earbuds with mic?

What are the some of the best earbuds with mic, answer call, volume control, and possibly even track skip controls on the market today?
I'm looking for ones that are comfortable and have quality sound for listening to lots of hip hop, electronic and dubstep types of music.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I'm loving my MEElectronics M9P, 'specially since I got 'em for like $22 during a special (and in black, which seems to be out of stock everywhere now)... They're usually around $30-ish and they compare very favorably to many $50 IEMs w/mic like the NuForce NE-7M and the Maximo iP-HS5. There's a million threads about this kinda stuff over at HeadFi.org, but there seems to be a strong consensus on the MEElec M9P being one of the better values out there. The Apple ADDIEM (dual driver IEM) are pretty decent too if you can find 'em on Ebay for under $30 and you don't mind the look.
For reference, I had a pair of Sennheiser CX300 IEMs and JVC HA-FX34 before these MEElec and they easily overshadow either of those. All of the ones I've mentioned are IEMs (which go deeper in the ear and isolate more than regular earbuds). I'm not sure if that's what you were after or you wanted straight up earbuds, hope it helps either way.
I've been pretty happy with a set of "Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi" earphones I picked up when I got the EVO. Decent bass for a single-driver earphone, though I recommend using the Comply tips (2 pairs are included) instead of the standard silicone ones. Some cable noise, but that's pretty much eliminated if you wear them over the ear. The mic is located on the right earphone lead and placed close to the mouth. The single pause/play button (lower, on the central lead) will start and stop the music player in Android (even when the app is backgrounded, which is nice, though I guess all headphones probably do this). It also hangs up a voice call. The price for these dropped a lot recently, you should be able to find it at online vendors selling for less than a hundred bucks.

Yeah, that's the same way the button on my MEElectronics M9P works (or even the play button on the remote of my Kensington LiquidAUX Bluetooth car kit). Cord noise is one thing that shocked me about the M9P, there's absolutely none, they've got an amazing cord. I think it's double wrapped or something (you can see a black cord inside the translucent outer layer)... They're an amazing bang for the buck, even at $30+.
HTC EVO 4G Stereo Headset w/ Remote Controller
You could buy HTC EVO OEM headset with remote controller either from HTC site or from ebay. I ordered one from ebay from one US seller for $15 shipped. Search for HTC EVO 4G 9292 Stereo Headset w/ Remote Controller.
They are stocked on HTC site for 29.99 + shipping. It appears that the mic has noise cancellation. You can use remote controller to fw, rw, pause, etc.
I'm very happy with my Klipsch S4i. Sound quality is excellent, I've been told the mic sounds as good if not better than the phone mic and they are the most comfortable in ear type buds I've ever worn. I also have a pair of Shure E3c and I'd say the sound quality is pretty much equal.
I second the Klipsch. Hands down the best set of buds I have ever owned. Amazing sound and way cheaper than other earbuds of comparable sound quality

I have the Klipsch S4, I love them and was thinking about getting the S4i but was concerned about the controls on them. The controls are Apple specific, do they work with the EVO?
Using an apple earphone I bought with my rs giftcard. Works fine, but no volume controls implemented with android at the moment. Clear talk with mic and decent quality with the ear phones.

I am planning on getting the MEElectronics M11p+ in the near future. Great price and a growing fan base... MEE is reviewed quite well on headphone forums. Currently using Shure E3Cs but they see a lot of abuse, and no mic. And stay FAR away from the Shure mic adapter, it worked for 1 day. I should have paid attention to the reviews. Crap!
I have the JBuds J3M, $29.95 at Amazon.com, works great with aluminum housing.

The middle (phone on/off) button works fine, which would be a deal breaker if it didn't. Unfortunately the up and down (volume) don't. Not a big deal since volume adjustment isn't something I do all the time and it's not a big deal to just use the phone adjustment.

I have both the Studios and the Tours with ControlTalk and they both work great on the EVO I use the Tours more with the EVO because they are alot more portable the the Studios I would highly recommend them. Also there customer service is amazing I accidentally broke my Tours and it was totally my fault and they replaced them free of charge and even payed for shipping both ways.

LG Tone HBS-700 Bluetooth review

When taken out, these headphones look really really good.
These has a unique design. They headphones are attached to the band that stays around your neck. Just pull them out the socket and put them in your ear. When you're done, put them back in the socket, which connects with a magnet that's on the back part of the ear buds.
They have controls that work well with the phone. They have Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down, Next/Previous and a phone button
The headset itself has its own volumes. You can set the volume for the headset and if its not loud enough or too loud, you can also make it louder or less louder with the volume button on the phones. There is also a bass booster feature that enables when you hold down Volume up and down at the same time and it sounds good for Bluetooth headphones. The only control that doesn't seem to work right is the fast forward/rewind button. It says to hold down the next/previous button to do this. The headphones itself makes the noise that makes it seem like its doing it but the song continues at normal speed. Not a deal breaker. I tried this with Google Music so it might be different with other players. It has a built in mic and I only made one call and the person said they heard me loud and clear. The headset will have its own notification to let you know about the call and the neck band actually vibrates which I think is cool
It comes with an app that reads the message but let me save another long block of text by simply saying: ICS=No Worky.
Another thing is when you have it on, the phone button works like voice commands. I have Vlingo on my phone and it only seems to work right with the In Car feature of Vlingo as everything with that is done by voice but I'm sure that's yet another battery hog.
Also when you pick it up, it feels very light and like it dangles so at first it felt like it could break easily but I'm sure its durable. The ear buds are also sweat proof and water resistant (Im sure read this in the description)
Okay sorry for the long review but I just wanted to get this out there for any one in search of a good Bluetooth set. I know us GNex users suffer battery issues but if you don't mind that or you have great battery life, I HIGHLY recommend these. These are some great Bluetooth ear buds and for $50 with how great it works and looks, you really can't go wrong. Hope this helped someone out there

Well from what I've read the wireless ones has lesser bass than the actual corded ones. I might still get them but with these, I'm almost positive I've found my perfect Bluetooth headphones
I just returned the ibeats earbuds to best buy last week. Those were by far the worst headphones I have ever owned.
I searched the entire market and this is the model that struck me.
Now that you have owned this piece for about 4 months, can you tell us the pros and cons in real usage ??
I am mainly looking at Multipoint connectivity an iPOD and my Galaxy Note at the same time. Is that possible with this model ??
I've had these since at least November. I use them almost every single day at work. I use them while jogging, working out, shopping... basically everywhere.
I bought my sister and her boyfriend each a set for Christmas.
I've said it a few times but these are literally my favorite tech purchase of the year. For wireless they sound excellent. I don't expect audiophile quality out of any wireless equipment, but these did surprise me for the price. The design is superb. I love being able to have one ear bud in at work listening to podcasts while the other bud is safely stored away. The battery will likely outlast your nexus and as long as you plug it in each night you shouldn't have any issues there.
I've had mine for 6 months and they don't seem any worse for the wear. I try to wipe them down after jogging / working out, but other than that they don't get any special treatment.
5/5.
Great. This surely helps me make the decision.
Anything you can say about the multipoint connectivity?

I haven't used multi point much, but it does switch between my MacBook and Galaxy Nexus without problem.
I absolutely love these headphones. They sound great, the battery lasts for quite a few hours, and it works perfectly for calls as well. This is especially great when I travel for work. Because the headset is stereo and goes in both ears, I have no problems tuning airport noises out while on any call.

I bought a pair a month ago. I got then on ebay for $35 & I really love them. I had the motorola's SD-9, those were uncomfortable, sounded weak & the controls stopped responding a couple of month after I bought them. These are very comfy. They sound great with good sound level. I use them with my iPod & HTC OneX. I listen to my audiobooks in the iPod and when I get a call it just pauses the iPod, I do my call and then the iPod resumes. The batery life is awesome, I listen to my iPod all day long without having to stop to recharge. The calls sound loud & clear, the caller hears me clearly without having to raise my voice. These are great!
Bought the updated version of these bluetooth headphones (HBS-730) and they are fantastic.
Thanks for the reviews everyone, guess I found my bluetooth headset
Some Cons
I purchased the HBS-730 and all of the positive reviews are correct. I would like to share two real-world-use concerns.
1) The ear buds have a hole opposite the speaker. I can tell that they enhance the sound quality because when I cover them with my finger, the audio degrades. When I'm running this hole creates a noticeable wooshing sound.
2) These are designed to rest comfortably around your neck. When running, they bounce up and down and bonk against my collar bones. I have attempted to put the front parts under my shirt, but that hasn't worked very well. I may try clipping them to my shirt to keep them from bouncing up.
Has anyone else experienced these issues?

Sony Ericsson mw600. Amazon has them for like $40.
LG HBS-700
About $60 but sometimes cheaper. Folks on the other end don't know I'm in a naked Jeep. I still can't hear them great but that's mostly because I only have it in my right ear. At work, with both in, all of the cube-land noise is silenced by my Slacker tunes. I've used them with my gtab2, old fruit-based phone, corporate crackberry and shiny new SGS3.

The New Plantroncs Backbeat Go's can't be beat. I switched to them from the LG's.
Depends how much you want to spend. I have both the SE MW600 and LG HBS700. I like the MW600 because it lets you use your own headphones to plug into it allowing you to have better sound quality. I like the LG because of simplicity of 1 device but the sound quality is lacking compared to the MW600. I threw the MW600 in the drawer and use the LG exclusively ever since getting them. I got them for $40 off Newegg when they had the special a month ago.
I have the Jaybird Freedom. They run for $99 but they are awesome. I used to have the Sennheiser MM100. They were good too.
I'm liking my LG HBS700 so far. Tried Motorola s10 and really didn't like the fit, but LG one is comfortable. I forget that it's there sometimes. Kinda wish I got the white one now to match soon-to-be-mine white gs3!

Have these now. They are amazing. I got them for cheap on ebay in new condition. Well worth the price tag. Range, bass, battery all excellent. Range is around 50+ ft through a crowded gym. Once you get used to how they fit around your ears these are great. They never fall out while running or anything. And cancel all noise around you.

Had these for 15 months. They were incredible never fell out while running. They had a ****ty proprietary charger that started giving out towards the end. They met their fate when they fell out of my pocket and I ran them over by mistake. Range was great on this probably about the same as the XBA. Never fell out of my ears even while sprinting.

These were my first pair. Decent but eventually I couldn't charge it because of the cheap micro usb port. Don't remember how good the range was.

Got these after the Sony HBH and hated the lack of range, about 15 ft if you had an armband i would recommend these.. Quality was great. Required constant readjusting though.

The headphones thread

This isn't good for accessory sub-forum since it was AT&T that specifically screwed us out of headphones. Use this thread to discuss what headphones you are using with your note 2.
Today i picked up these bose ITE headphones at best buy to give a try:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Bose&#1...lver/1246325.p?id=1218241024821&skuId=1246325
I thought bose quality + mic to make calls with.. can't go wrong.
However I am finding myself disappointed with the bass in these headphones (I like to hear bass haha). For movies and video, the headphones excel, as well as call quality. However when listenign to music, i feel like i'm missing a lot of sound. Since they cost a pretty penny @ $129, I'm probably going to return them and start looking again. I may elect to go with some over the ear headphones on amazon.com since theyre all under $20
I exchanged my s3 for a note 2. I really liked the headphones that were with my s3. I was dissapointed when I realized there were no headphones in the box. Im just using iphone headphones with a mic.
I'm using these http://av.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL028672&pathId=162&page=1
Great headphones, and so far, works wonderful with my Note 2. OKAY bass, great mids and Highs

For everyday use, I have Bose IE2 which i paid 40 bucks for new. Then for sitting and watching a movie or whatever on my phone, I have a set of Beats Audio Solo HDs...which I bought for 40 bucks also, but were slightly used. To me there are more headphones out there that sound better than the Bose for the price. Klipsch headphones are awesome and are the same price. As for the beats...well if you like bass then they are for you. They sound ok but are WAY over priced.

The general consensus of the Audio community is that Bose is a more marketing then high end audio. Their stuff isn't terrible but not worth the price. You can get much better for less money.
Try:
Meelectronics (various from $20 - $100) - real bag for the buck. The M6 under $20 (M6P with mic under $40) has good bass and is a fraction the price of Bose.
High end headphones makers:
Klipsch
Sennheiser
Shure
Denon
Etymotics

Thanks for the recommendation, Meelectronics is way more affordable than the other options people have listed. Just a quick question since im a headphone noob, do you know how the M31P compares to the M6P, they are both around the same price on amazon. Not exactly sure if one out performs the other.
Big Klipsch guy here. I love the S4i and IMAGE ONE phones the most. Also have a set of SE530s, ER-4Ps, and HD555s. Worst case, I also have three sets of iPhone earphones to use. Didn't care one bit that the phone didn't come with any.
I'm using the Samsung supplied, they're okay. I like the volume controls .
I picked up a pair of Samsung supplied from- http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-GAL.../300785879001?ssPageName=ADME:L:eek:U:US:3160
Price was a dollar cheaper when I purchased

Never used the M31P, but from what I read it seems the P31 may have a bit more bass. Also they way they are designed to fit into you ears is different. The M6 is a true in-ear and over ear cable design, they fit into into you ear canal and the wires are meant to go over the top of you ear. This is a little odd if you not used to it but they don't fall out. The M31P is a bit more conventional design and may not stay in as well depending on your activity. From the chart on the Amazon page it looks like the M31 may have a bit more bass also.
Personally I like the M6P (I have the M6 without the mic) design because they stay put when I'm jogging.
I have a set of m6, m9p, and m11p's. The m6 is heavier towards the bass that the rest of them but they all give out pretty good low end. I find they are the best bang for the buck and have excellent customer service.

I had some Klipsch S4's but I just get them to fit my ears comfortably.
I do have the Shure SE530, witch I love but the rubber where the wires go into the housing is falling apart. One day I plan to get them rewired and have the drivers inserted into a custom enclosure. The SE530 are FANTASTIC, but I would like just a bit more bass (quantity) at times.
Also have the Denon AH-C650R which sound good but the mic is only ok.

That is probably AT&T auctioning the headphones off that they removed from all of our boxes. Lolol

Ya I was disappointed when I seen it didn't come with headphones, so I ordered 2pairs from amazon for 4 dollars apiece. I did notice that the volume is lower than the iphone 4 but owell its not that bad for my first Android device. Is there anyway to boost the volume for yhe headphones on this phone?
The ear buds I use are Sony's wired noise isolation MDR XB40 EX...I've had them since I got my Captivate..
They have 13 mm woofers in them..they are perfectly clear..have crushing bass..and provide exceptional highs.. and a nice selection of replaceable ear sizes on them...They aren't making them anymore...but they can still be found for under $50 at a number of places..I had a pair of Sennheiser CX 880i that cost a lot more..and didn't provide as good of bass response for the various music & movies I watch...My listen taste is varied...from opera to hard rock...everything except rap & Blue Grass...
For the money...if you don't need a microphone and can used a wired set of buds...try to find a set of the Sony's...you won't be disappointed..

Sony SBH60 Stereo Bluetooth Headset

I very quickly got sick of the standard Sony MH750 headset. No volume control and probably the worst cable I've ever had on in-ears.
So I decided to shop around and came across this BT headset:

Couldn't really find any reviews but I decided to take a chance and I've just placed an order. Should receive it in a week or so.
Anybody tried out this set yet?
Well I chose sbh20 instead. Hope you'll like it.
Thanks. I'll definitely post back once I receive them
How are you liking the SBH20?

Definitely would buy again! It's like having Shuffle (small, easy to use, great audio quality, changeable headphones, and bonus - mic for calls) and music list with equalizer at once!
I bike, ski, workout and going to boring meetings with them. I bet it's difficult to use shb60 and helmet together
The SBH60 finally arrived today after some delays with the shipping process.
The unit is nice and light and the sound quality is very good. Pairing with NFC is super easy.
Call quality is good considering the mic placement.
Reported battery life is great (13 hours).
I'll have to use the pair for a couple of days before I can really come to a conclusion but so far I'm happy with my purchase
Hi,
I got this headset with my contract here in SA, its really decent plays nice and clear with a good amount of base. The quality is good too feels well built but nice and light.
What I was really surprised about was the battery, I do not find myself charging it often and the range is superb! Can walk outside the house and can still connect to the phone inside without effort.
All in all, a really great headset as a just above entry and just below premium. I got all rounder I would say... very pleased with it :good:

Ah, I didn't know they started supplying these headsets in SA now. I imported both my Z3c and headset.
I agree with all your comments. Definitely good value for money.
A couple of days later and I can't say that I have any complaints. I'm really happy with my first attempt at cutting the cord
Battery life is excellent. Extremely comfortable for an on the ear design. Sound is great and headset works as it should.
Does everything I need at a reasonable price.

Yeah we not that far behind in tech here in SA, only issue is we get the main goods, accessories are very hard to get hold of locally if it's new stuff.
I cannot find local stores stocking the magnetic chargers and docks, and shipping costs to SA isn't great you end up paying double the cost for the goods.
O well, atleast I have the handset and headgear

I couldn't find any local (SA) stock of the SBH60 when I ordered.
The phone itself I got from Orange because the local prices are a bit excessive (I buy cash, not contract).
I was lucky enough to get a DK31 dock from a friend that works for Vodacom. Although the dock works with the Z3c, I opted for removing the cable instead.
The magnetic cable is a nice to have. The handset and headgear are the more important bits if you ask me
Battery Life Indicator
I picked up this set 2 about 2 months ago and have no complaints thus far. I noticed a nice feature that only seems to work with this particular set though; the battery life indicator.
I also have a pair of MDR-XB950BTs as well that I've been doubling as ear muffs for the cold It seems the 950s cannot utilize that same feature? Anyone know if this may be a limitation to a specific bluetooth profile?
I am using a stock D6616 (T-Mobile Z3), and don't believe it is necessarily a phone feature, but more so something supported by the headset..
Cheers!
I went with SBH-80 because I prefer the in-ear type. With Apt-X support, it sounds stellar!
