What is pit file ??? Can you explain ???

For those rare cases, that someone needs a pit file, it can be easily extracted from the official firmware (the CSC section)

This PIT file is for 128 GB..?

[Q] can anybody upload 4.2.2 INU for SGG

Hi all...
i tried downloading 4.2.2 INU from hotfile link as provided by sammobile.com and samsung-updates.com but failed to download as these dont support resume !!
can anyone, who has successfully downloaded the inu file, upload it to some other server which support resume download
or
divide it into 200mb parts file so that the file size is smaller and chances of getting download fail also reduced to that particular smaller size file instead of complete 931mb file.
Downloaded INS version from here::

[GUIDE] [Splitfus2] [Cygwin] How To install Cygwin/Splitfus2 To Split Stock Firmware

How To install Cygwin And Use Splitfus2
You can download any stock rom package for galaxy y from Sammobile and use Splitfus2 to split it into odin flashable parts

Skip how to install Cygwin if you already have it set up but if you run into problems later come back to this and set up Cygwin again properly
How to install Cygwin Properly
uninstall any version of Cygwin you currently have installed
now install Java SE Development Kit 7 from here
now download the 32bit x86 version of Cygwin from here
Run the setup and make sure you install all the packages by clicking the arrow at the top that changes everything from default to install all
Make sure you have selected the root of your harddrive to install it in Cygwin folder for eg c:\cygwin
Now you can install cygwin
For detailed video instructions watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=sYJMdHPD410 (skip the bit at end about setting up kitchen - you just want Cygwin)
How To Install Splitfus2 And Run It
Download Splitfus2 attachment
now navigate to C:\cygwin\home\your username
create a folder called splitfus
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
unzip the Splitfus2 zip and place the containing splitfus2.exe and _base folder in the splitfus folder
place the stock firmware you want to split also in the splitfus folder
run Cygwin
type cd splitfus
now type ls
type ./splitfus2.exe -w S5360nameofyour firmware (note to make it easier just type S5360 then press the tab key and it will auto compleate - also note it is case sensitive and it starts dot then a forward slash)
now your firmware will be split and output in a zip file to your splitfus folder
unzip and use in odin
You can find already split firmware and links to dokys original threads here

Added Info!!
I have made a video on how to setup Cygwin Kitchen on linux in less than a minute.
Here's the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z45ocbB7e24
I have mentioned everything in detail in the description of the video.
Maybe you can add it if you find it useful!

this thread is for using splitfus2
if you had the splitfus2 linux version and guide I could add it to this thread
by all means create a seperate thread for setting up kitchen on linux
just as a note Cygwin is a linux terminal emulator for windows - its not for linux
Thanks
Thanks for correcting my mistake!
I found that sir Doky has already made a tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25130022&postcount=2

is this possible as i've tried without luck or does splitfus not support s5839i

iv added the supported models to the op the s5839i is not included - the best person to contact is doky as he created this programme to see if there is a way to easily add your phone model
i dont know if you can simply copy the s5830i file in the base folder and rename the copy to s5839i - iv no idea if it will work and it may cause damage to your device if the phones are different in terms of mount points and partitions
I downloaded odin 3.07 and it flashed using the single file so no need to split when using odin 3.07. Happy days.

not able to install cygwin on win7.
as per above procedure i was trying to install cygwin on my win7 pc but the installation was unsuccessfull. after downloading cygwin setup.exe and running & trying to connect through direct internet option then selecting mirror link, the download not started. i have tried several link given in setup installation windows also my internet connection are working properly. so is there any way to install this program without internet connection i mean to say just downloading on another pc & installing it in another. and also i want to ask u that is after installing cygwin setup i think there is window to select package so which are the package i should have to select. my main concern to ask this is, as you have suggested me in another thread make odin flashable rom package for my samsung galaxy y pro duos GT B5512 downlaoded from sammobile.com
please help us!

follow my instructions on the op for installing cygwin
you do not need internet to install cygwin
download the package from the link given in the op
run the setup
select install from a package folder on harddrive
select the package folder you have downloaded from the link given in the op (the same as the setup.exe)
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE PACKAGE FROM THE CYGWIN SETUP! INSTALL FROM HARDDRIVE!
also B5512 is not in the support list but B5510 is - I dont know if you can use B5510 firmware on B5512

I wasnt the one who created it - it was doky but the img files in the base folder are the support models
what phone do you have - if its not on the support list the chances are your phone supports single file flashing and you can just put the single file firmware pack in pda and flash it

your phone is not supported by splitfus2
your phone may support single file firmware flashing - download firmware from sammobile.com unzip and place in pda section
Else please refer to your own phones forum if it has one as I only support 5360

Please read the 1st post B5512 is NOT on the support list
also if you type ls at the promp it will tell you where you are in the directory and what files are in that directory
also ./splitfus2.exe-B5512XWLG1_B5512ODDLG_INS is wrong it should be
./splitfus2.exe -w B5512XWLG1_B5512ODDLG_INS
as I said though B5512 is not on the support list so chance of it working unlikely
have you tried single file flashing? ie just putting the firmware you downloaded from sammobile into the pda section and flashing it?
I cant offer any other support as your device is not supported and this is the 5360 forum

once you have downloaded the firmware from sammobile use winrar (or another unzipper) to unzip the firmware
you should have a file like the following
ModelofphoneXXXX1_ModelofphoneXXXXX1_ModelofphoneXXXXX_HOME.tar.md5
click pda and navigate to where that file is and you can select it
finally i have flashed my sgy gt b5512 through odin but still it stuck into samsung logo. but after complteing all finally i received message that pass in odin and then my phone boots but now in samsung logo still so is there any idea. another thing is that now my phone can enter into recovery mode which before was not. and in that i have tried to wipe cache and partion but still not working. please reply us.

Isn't Pit/CSC part of EFS?

[Solved] E: can't mount /data on B5510

Hi guys , I've recently fixed a phone with the current isue , so I'm putting some materials here for those in need .
- CSC
- BOOTLOADER
- PIT
- MODEM
- PDA
All those files are for B5510 .
There is already a full guide including firmware in this thread.
In addition next time please use a more age appropriate hosting site to link to files, not one containing sexually suggestive images.
