Google Call Recorder App - Google Pixel 4 XL Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi folks ,
I have a google Pixel 4XL , running Android 11 .
For some reasons , google call recorder app is disabled on my phone .
I have heard, it's because Google restricted this app for those who are outside the United State .
I was wondering , if there was a way to get this app running on my phone. I know there are so many apps for recording but I knidda wanted to try Google Call Recorder app .
I really appreciate if some of you can help me out with this issue .
Thanks in advance .

Hi there. I think it's disabled because of laws of the country where you live. In most countries this is illegal, to record calls without other persons permission.

I found this but haven't tried it yet. If you go for a third party app, I've had good luck with ACR and ACRPhone by NLL. The latter is their dialer that incorporates recording. Their 'unchained' version includes features not allowed on Google Play, like labeling the recordings with the proper contact name rather than just the number. Google blocked this access, details here.

You talking about voice morphing, as seen in many movies to potentially hide the callers id?

I mean the soft that can change your voice ( robot, chipmunk or girl ... ). Isnt hide the callers iD.
^,^
Yeah you mean voice morphing software good question though as I haven't seen any apps that do this either, well not on the fly in a phone call.

There was an app called "Voice Changer v1.0". I used it a few times. It could morph your voice and spoof the number you are calling from. I think it made the calls over the internet. It was removed from the market shortly after appearing. It had some wierd permissions and gave you ads in your notification bar. I unistalled it because of this but noticed no ill effects afterwards.
Here is a link to appbrain but says it is removed from the market. This may give you something to google if you so wish.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/voice-changer/com.droidmojo.vc
There was another app with the same name from a different developer , "voice changer 3.4" but I never tried it and it was reported to not work. Other than that I don't think there is anything legite out there.
Edit: I just found one on the market called "Voice changer calling". Only first few calls are free. Read the reviews first if you want to check it out.

Sound Recorder in JB 4.1.1

Hi guys. First post for me but I've been reading these forums ever since I got my GN in January. Thanks to these forums I successfully updated my phone to yakju, then takju, and this morning to takju with JB 4.1.1. So...first I want to say thanks.
Second, I do have a question regarding the Sound Recorder app in JB. I noticed it for the first time when it popped up as an option while trying to upload to Facebook. I don't see it in the app or widget drawer. I checked in settings> apps>all and I see it there. Is there a way to add it to the home screen or actually launch it? Maybe I'm missing something and in that case feel free to pwn me.
Thanks in advance...
i too would like to know this, if anyone has any idea?
Just as in previous versions of android, the sound recorder app is not able to launch via the app drawer. If you really want to launch it, there is some code that you can put in to a terminal app, but the app will not actually save sounds to your phone. It is used as an extension of sorts that records sounds into certain apps, messages, etc... If you want to record audio files to your phone check out an app like Easy Voice Recorder on Google Play Store or my personal favorite, TapeMachine Recorder. (Sorry, can't post links yet.)
thanks for this jong31 - this is my first android device so wasn't aware of this particular limitation seen as all my other handsets down the years have always had a voice/sounder recorder built in!
i will go and download from the store now

OP3 after 5 days, struggling to get on track

Using the OP3 for 5 days now and still struggling a lot . Somehow I got the message about no space on the storage although there were not many files there. So had to do a reset, and reinstalled all apps a fresh.
I am horribly addicted to the DND , Block Caller , Memo and Email Client of Samsung. I assumed that the OP3 being a Android phone, would have all of these and more.
I have installed a app (Do not Disturb) for the DND which seems to be working fine. Can someone suggest a workaround for the other three problems, i.e Block Caller, Memo (where I can import samsung memos) and email client like Samsung, please.
I would like to keep the phone and am making all efforts to work towards that. All advice will be highly appreciated.
A stupid question, would all these problems be overcome with a downgrade to Marshamallow, if that is possible at all ?
- use google keep for memo (its better)
- tons of options for email, you can use Gmail for starters (even for Microsoft Exchange), or check out BlueMail if you want to try a third party.
if you're trying to get these on stock OOS with no root/xposed:
- create a contact called SPAM and add callers you want to block to that, then make that contact's calls all go to voicemail
if you're willing to unlock BL & root:
- Flash Google Dialer w/ framework to block callers
- use Root Call Blocker

yes, but i dislike it since they upload your whole contacts list to their servers which is a huge privacy issue IMO

Yes i know but since millions of people are already using it so they already have most of our phone contacts anyway. The only thing that we can do is just get our own number removed from their database.

that doesn't make it OK.
I blocked my number and those of all my friends and family on their service to mitigate that.

Ok but to be honest doesnt bother me much. Plus you cannot remove a number from their database whose has an active true caller account so i do hope you had everyone deactivate their accounts also first.

Thanks for your reply. Gmail does not go to the Combined view of Inbox directly, dislike that. Needed a simple client which is included with the phone. Have tried BlueMail found it very complicated. I dont mind rooting if I can get a permanent solution to my problems.
About Truecaller or any other Dialler which uploads the phone book, is a huge issue for me and I dont want to do that.
About Google Keep, have tried that. Didnt like it. Besides I have hundreds of notes on my Samsung Memo with Titanium backups available, all lost.

You are issues rare, it also tells how diverse this world is. Most people here, specially me, just hate Samsung UI, missing frame rates and lags, chinese looking touchwiz. Good to know, some people prefer it as well. I exchanged galaxy S7 for OP3 with commitment never to buy Samsung again, i feel you have opposite issues
There are tones of memo applications, oneNote it's working fine and also you can sync with the widows os, using a branded application such Samsung's crap which you can't ported to other devices it's risky, Samsung like Apple are pushing us to use their own ****, less flexibility

You should try HydrogenOS v0.10 which comes with its own notes app and you can block or record calls directly from the phone app. For email, I myself use Inbox from Google which works great but try few from PlayStore.

Why did you buy OP3 instead of Samsung?
I mean, if you prefer Samsung stile why did you change it for a pure android one?
Anyway, I'm looking for an OP3. If you would like to sell it to buy a Samsung device I would like to help you.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have had Onenote since ages on my phones, never thought of using it as a memo pad. Infact it is a very good suggestion, the Quick notes are really handly and get synced to all devices too.

For memo i would suggest google keep or colornote, for mail you can try outlook, for call blocking you can try call blocker by nq mobile security it works good for me.
And if you root it to some other custom rom like resurrection rom i think there is an inbult feature of call blocking..

Your first mistake is thinking that Samsung ships Android. They ship TouchWiz and add a bunch of "value added" crap most people don't care about. Most if not all of those things can be found on Google Play.

How can i enable the "Nearby places" in the stock dialer app?

Hi all,
I recently bought the Xiaomi a1 ,which is great phone so far.
For some reason, the stock dialer app is not including the option of searching for businesses (aka "nearby places") by searching in the text field of the app.
Do someone know how it can be enabled there?
Thanks.

Just install the attached Google dialer (no root) and give the permissions to access the location.
The "nearby places" works just fine and also the caller ID picture works.

Question Call Recording working

So I have a Z Fold 3 in Australia, purchased directly from Samsung. Several months ago I got call recording working in the Samsung dialler app, by changing the CRC of the phone and installing an Indonesian version of Android.
I'd prefer to use the google phone dialler app, but call recording isn't showing as an option. I've read everywhere that it only works if you have the google dialler comes preinstalled on your phone. So I guess my question is, why can we not just have an apk made of this "preinstalled" version of Google dialler so we can use call recording?
Also open to other ideas on how to get call recording to work in Google dialler.
Thanks

Simple answer: Because it's illegal in a lot of countries ...
And this https://www.xda-developers.com/google-kill-third-party-call-recording-apps-android/
ACR Phone works
Yes, I'm aware of the legality complexities. Perhaps I complicated things in my inital post. To simplify I have one question:
* If there was someone who has Google Phone (dialer) preinstalled on their device from India or another country where recording is allowed (and enabled) - could they do an export of that app? And then could one just import / install that onto their phone?
I don't know the ins & outs of how the export is done... but is it possible?

ACR does work. You just need to be more open to more possibilities and not just go to Play Store like a NPC.
I already bought ACR but, Google fuxed it up so it didnt work anymore unless on Android 5 to 9.
then I actually found one of the comments on Play Store that Aptoide version works.
I tried it on Android 12 and now on Android 13. It records both sides of conversation.
Just be advised that the instalation package will need to install Aptoide Store first, which, once inside, takes you to install page of ACR.
IMPORTANT:
*TURN OFF Updates inside the ACR app Settings, so that Google doesnt interfere. I also
**TURNED ON the setting that it asks me after the call "Whether to save the recording or not". Thats how l know it works and reminds me to check the functionality
You are welcome.
