Dbrand - Google Pixel 5 Accessories

Ordered my skins some time ago, and they finally arrived yesterday.
This is how the 'Pastel Black' looks on my Pixel 5:

Nice! I ordered the dbrand Grip case with the Matrix skin. I will provide pictures when it arrives in a couple of days (overseas shipping).

How is the texture of the skin? Would you consider it slippery or does it have any grip to it?

Out of curiosity, are the skins easily removed (in case of an application error and/or to change them)? The instructions look pretty straight forward, but I'm a bit hesitant to pay 15 bucks for my clumsy fingers to destroy it at my first go
Also, will having a skin on make it difficult to use a case if I need to at some point?

Looks good that pastel black, got a bit of a sage feeling.
I'm thinking of buying the dragon black because it looks so good and is advertised as a very grippy skin.

Still waiting on Pastel Black to arrive.
For those who asked the standard finish skins probably feel quite similar to back of the Pixel. Medium grip. The skins with texture, particularly the small round pattern one (think it might be called Matrix) is definately grippier.

It's smooth, but slightly grippy if that makes sense. It's a matte texture.

I have used a few dbrand skins on my Nexus 6, Nexus 6P and Pixel 2 XL, Dragon having the most grip and matte black and yellow the least. The matrix was in between.
I you're looking for best grip go with the dragon.

My dbrand Grip case finally arrived, check out my review over here.

Is dbrand skin offer more grip than the xtremeskins?

I just got my Seafoam Green back skin. Loving it, let's see how it holds up. I also have the matte white in the envelope waiting.

I'll be honest, the carbon fiber dbrand skin in my experience is slippery but it looks so cool! Plus I got a rhinoshield bumper case to make it look even cooler!

These are some of the cases I recently received, ordered on ebay via various vendors. Most cost around $1-2 with 3 costing $4-5, shipped free. I will try to input my opinions on most. Right off the bat I can tell you they all fit snugly and have cutouts for easy access to ports. But if you have any questions on any particular one, go ahead ask me.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I have an xtremeguard full body protector on the Blue phone and all of these fit with the exception of the RED SGP*. They fit tightly on the White phone, that doesn't have a back cover protector installed.
I've included front and back, installed on Blue (I9300) and White (T999) versions.

Very Thin, smooth rubbery feel (I usually don't like rubbery backs as they tend to peel, but this has a nice texture to it). Has face lip. Hard shell snap on. Could easily be a favorite, but didn't like the yellow color.

Great thread!
My only recommendation is that you take the pics in daylight without flash. Flash illuminates and reflects giving a incorrect representation of the actual color.

Best fitting even though the cutouts at the back dont line up properly?
It adds the most thickness of the cases too right?
Is it much thicker than the green sgp case you have?

Spigen Neo Hybrid + Carbon Skin

I usually don't like the bulk that cases add to the phone but with a toddler girl I definately need a good protection. I bought the neo hydbrid and I really like it, i have some carbon look vinyl around and decided to make an skin to apply it the slippery back.
Here's how it looks

Beautiful, though I disagree on how significant the bulk added by the neo hybrid is. It's a protective case, any thinner and there would be no protection.
A plastic shell is pointless, imo, except to protect scratches, which a full body skin does better.

that looks awesome! I was thinking about doing something like that with a dbrand skin on the back of the neo hybrid or ultra slim case

You can save the pdf I attached, and go to a print shop or anyone with a vinyl cutter and cut any vinyl. Dont know if dbrand do customs cut.
how much would it cost for u to print a carbon cutout and mail it to me? no vinyl shops around here lol

Very nice!
I agree the neo hybrid is a really good case, not sure why people dont like it. Everywhere I take my phone people ask what kind of phone is that and when i pop the case off they had no idea it was a case they were looking at. It looks that good.

It is a nice case. My wife keeps saying it makes my phone look like an iPhone. She knows how to wind me up. I went on the xgear website. It would be good if they made skins for the Neo Hybrid case. I'd buy one.
that carbon + case combo looks really good, nice job.
i wanna have one cut for me too. that looks awesome as hell :good:
i didn´t have the carbon vinyl so........
doesn´t look quite good but its ok to me for now...
what do you guys think?
Love my neo hybrid, only complaint is that the headphone cutout is too small for my ath m50 headphones.

Well, at least no one will ever want to touch or steal your phone!
Also looks like you now have added grip .
so the side is smooth and the back is soft touch/matte but slippery and shows fingerprints?
I really like the feel of the buttons (size/texture/give/etc), how does this case obfuscate them? a bit? a lot?
Thanks

For me the buttons are perfect, with the Google Bumper you have to push with a lot of effort on the buttons.

Has anyone else done this with one of those ready made skins (i.e: Debrand, slickwraps etc.) ? How is the fit ? I prefer buying such a skin over cutting one myself because I like to have the nexus logo cutout, prefer a matte black skin (or perhaps a black leather texture) and down here in Australia buying a vinyl sticker paper would probably end up costing more than one of those skins anyway, so why bother ?

Nice! I never thought of doing this til now! This is a great alternative to the aluminum bumper! Thanks everyone!
I just used the cutout to make a carbon fiber wrap for the back of my neo hybrid. Thanks! I had some 1080 3m vinyl laying around that I got for the interior of my truck.

Love naked device but need case....

Are there any options out there that wont cause me to loose the beauty of the device, I need to protect it but like the feel of the metal in my hands...
I just got this today - http://www.ebay.com/itm/330949139388, crystal clear. Doesn't really add that much bulk and the clear case definitely preserves the beauty of the phone.
Get a metal bumper. Phone still looks beautiful and it protects the sides from a fall.

supcase via amazon. cheap and looks good. not going to be an otterbox, but will prevent little dings and everyday scratches. my only gripe is volume buttons hard to press, but can be fixed a bit by cutting out button areas of case.
Slickwraps. It's the best solution. I have a black carbon fiber skin with an anti-glare screen protector and it works great.

I personally think the Devilcase Aluminum bumper is a pretty good alternative. I really liked the look of the One but I'm pretty clumsy and I have a tendency to drop my phones so I got the bumper. I've dropped it a few times but the phone has held up quite nicely without any signs of damage. Oh I also have a glass screen protector for the front though, just in case.

Incipio Frequency
Before, i had Belkin Grip Sheer Matte /still have it/, and thought it's super thin TPU. Now the Incipio, it's much much thinner and feel of device is more "real".
Althought it's very very thin, it provides some protection for camera lens and everyday scratches. Volume buttons are maybe little stiff - but i only own this for one week, and they are becoming easier to press or I am getting used to it.
Highly recommended.

This is a solution / idea, i came up with yesterday.
Your phone remains naked, while camera is slightly raised from table.

My guess is because the phone is being advertised as being pretty resilient against normal abuse, like drops, dings, etc. That, and that its made of metal.
I'm thinking that case companies are figuring that the phone can already withstand drops, so all it needs is scratch protection and many a little extra grip in the hand.

^That. I'm probably going to do whatever I can find that doesn't add much bulk but keeps the screen and cameras off of surfaces. Other than that, I just want to protect it from scrapes and minor dings. I really like this phone bare but you never know.

I ordered the Poetic Affinity case (http://www.poeticcases.com/affinity-blackclear-for-lg-v20) and have it on my phone now. It's really grippy and feels like a tank, but I feel it may be too big. This is already a big phone and seems really durable, so I think this may be too much case. I was looking at the Ringke Onyx, but I worried that they may have the same issue. I have a ringke fusion on the way. I would post photos, but this is my only phone at the moment.

I do feel that all this phone needs is something to keep the screen from hitting anything and the camera lens and that a TPU case would be all it needs. I love how the thing looks out of a case, but the aluminum is just a bit too slick and I don't want to risk marring my pretty new phone, durable or not.

New to the phone skin game, contemplating getting one for my XL2. Who makes the best ones? What do you all recommend?
I've used Toast skins before (toastmade.com) on my Nexus 6P. Cool idea. Gave them custom artwork and they laser etched it. Fit well also. Would use again. Thicker than slickwraps and dbrand etc though
I'll check them out. I have heard of dbrand before. I got the black xl2 and am contemplating skinning it like the Panda model lol.

If you are going to put a clear case over the skin I would recommend the d-brand.
I just placed an order with Slickwraps. They have a 50% off deal right now and have a whole Panda style section of wraps. $13 shipped is pretty cheap lol

Just got the same skin and I'm rocking it in my clear ringke. I love toast skins but am too ADD to keep it on forever, they're one time apply for like almost $40.

Looking sweet. I'm waiting on mines to get here.
Hands down dbrand. I have the dragon skin on all of my phones since I don't like cases. It has good grip and looks different. I tried the white dbrand and I didn't like it as well. I also use the skin to hide the black magnetic patch for the Mountek mount.
I have a Toast Made wood skin (actual wood) on my Nexus 6P. Application was very easy, did not require a hair dryer. Fit was effortlessly perfect, and wood side button covers are very nice. They are unfortunately one time use, and a bit pricey, but the feel in the hand is great, and at a little less than a millimeter thick (of wood), it does offer a very, very small amount of protection from scratches (and a drop on concrete on one of my corners).
Their store page for the Pixel 2 doesn't really work yet (CS said they were still uploading pictures and renders). I put in an order today for a custom one in the vein of the Nexus 6P 'Adopted Nexus' inlay and etch option, with Ebony main, and Ash inlays, and no branding. I'l post final price and pictures once I get it.

This isn't a picture of mine, but it is the exact same design and wood options I chose. Believe it or not mine actually looks better than the one pictured due to aging, minor wear, and patina (because its actual wood). Definitely the best phone accessory purchase I've made in the decade of such purchases I've made (excluding headphones).

This is slick as hell looking. I bought something very similar with white carbon fiber. Going to start with matte black and white and then will move to the carbon fire/dragon later.
And here is mine with back concrete and matte black window and G letter
Anyone try Colorware? http://www.colorware.com/categories.aspx?category=140
I bought the black matte Dbrand skin with the red G and absolutely loved the way it looked. But I had to take it off and put my case back on because it was too slippery. Worked great when my hands were a little "sweaty" but my hands are usually pretty dry. How is the grip on the dragon and carbon fiber skin? Do they have more a shiny plastic feel? The matte feels exactly like if you didn't have the skin on. It feels like the paint on the XL itself.
