Lineage OS on Matepad PRO WIFI - Huawei MatePad Pro Questions & Answers

Hello!
I'm new to modifying anything on any device.
I'm wondering is it possible to install Lineage OS or any custom OS on Matepad Pro? If so do you have any suitable tutorials for this purpose?
Need I root the device first in order to install custom os?
Cheers

Hi
At the moment the only thing you can do is to install Google Services with googlefier. For this you need to downgrade your MatePad to version 10.1.0.120. After downgrading you can install all the google services.
Googlefier lets you easily install Google apps on Huawei and Honor devices (xda-developers.com)
To install custom Roms you need to unlock the bootloader which not possible for now. I also thought about brute force the unlock code from the bootloader. But sadly, the needed commands aren't available.
MatePad Pro supports Project treble. You possibly can install GSI Roms. But as said above, without unlocking we can't to anything..

After running Googlefier, does Gapps stick if you allow Huawei FW updates?

Sold my zuk z2 to my friend, Which rom should i flash for him?

So long story short i sold my zuk z2 to my friend (Good Device, 1.5 years of loyality) So the thing is was on Arrow Os (9.0 Pie Treble), I flashed stock zui 2.5 using Mi Flash Tool and gave him so that he can have stock experience like factory version, As he is not into this root and flash and unlock kind of things, he doesn't understand this things, another reason for giving him stock zui 2.5 was if in future he installs payment apps like paytm, tez, etc it would detect root and give error "your phone is rooted" because no matter which rom i flash magisk fails everyday for me i had to restart device in 24hrs to make it working again, let it be treble or non treble this happened to me(don't know why) and there was also one thing we jad to hide some apps so they don't detect root, So he will have so much hassle in custom roms as he is not into this things because he never knew this side of android development, So i chose Stock Zui 2.5 over Custom Roms(Obviously I Loved Only Custom Roms Over Zui Anyday) Because No Hassle For Him, No trouble of safetynet passing in magisk magisk, No Hiding of apps in magisk.
But soon with the release of zui 4, arrow os pie came up with safety net pass without magisk.
So my questions are:
1)Does Play Store Shows Certified in Zui 4.0 with Locked Bootloader?
2)Does Payment Apps or The Apps Which Detects Root Works For The People Using Zui 4.0?
3)If Safetnet Passes By Default For New Roms, Will Play Sotro Be Certified and Apps Detecting Root Works If i Flash That Rom?
4)If Yes, Which Rom Should i Flash and Give To Him, Custom Rom With Default SafetyNet Pass or Zui 4.0 With Locked Bootloader?
Thanks in Advance Guys.
Sorry For Long Post.

Huawei unlock Codes

Hello, here are many peoples they have more ideas as i.
What do you think, i have write to huawei that they give me an bootloader unlock code.
Why?! The Google Problem what Huawei have now.
They cant give all peoples a waranty for security patches for future. I cant use Anti Virus Software why i dont have root. I need root to save my phone.
Huawei have say that they give us a update for Huawei P20 but now nothing.
With Root we can make our Phone safe self.
What do you think. will Huawei give use Bootloader unlock codes back again ?!
I think no.
i had the same idea i bought my phone on last saturday. And now i try to unlock it to install lineage...
by the way, none will buy a huawai if they cannot use facebook, whatsapp e.g. in the future so give out unlock codes will still open the market for some of us.
Huawei is reportedly working on a new OS that supports Android apps/apks, which means it's probably based on Linux. The US ban shouldn't affect existing phones, you will still receive a few security updates, but no major Android version system updates. With root you could flash custom roms that are updated frequently with security patches. So I'll have to agree, as root opens up so many possibilities. Cheers!

I've tried to unlock using DC-unlocker or HCU but my latest versions (C432B180) is not compatible.
Can I downgrade to a previous version (i.e. B160) using androidhost.ru rom (dload method) and after retry to read the bootloader code?
From which version does dc-unlocker work?
thanks in advance

I think you can't unlock bootloader. So no root and no custom ROM for you. But you can debloat stock ROM and install many apps that are similar to /e/. No way for microG. Instead of play store i recommend f-droid and aurora store.

will anyone with technology clout confirm it cant root or custom rom?
Yes, there are no custom ROMs, nor will there ever be. I would stay away from Huawei in general, especially anything with a trailing nominal like, "Lite". If you can't afford a phone with higher specs, buy one that is a year old. Something like the Xiaomi Mi Mix series, in which the Mi Mix 2s already have Android 11 ROM's available.
I personally have the Mi Mix 3 5G, in which I paid only $250 for a brand new, sealed in box phone containing a QUALCOMM 855, 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM. Not just that but it is extremely easy to unlock and install custom ROM's onto.
In fact, they're probably one of the easiest to modify phones I have ever used.

Question Lost Google Play Protect Status since flashing from CN to Global

hey guys,
since i successfully flashed my Mi Pad 5 from CN to Global Rom a new problem occured.
I lost the google play protect status and cant install apps like netflix via the playstore. manual way with apk download works fine.
is there any possibility to get the google play protect status again?
tried different methods from google instructions but they didnt work.
my bootloader is still unlocked - is this the problem? its not rooted
thx
Hi,
I had the same problem and I learned that it's a problem you have to live with if you wanna use the global ROM.
Google Play certification and Netflix DRM require the bootloader to be locked BUT if you the bootloader is locked, the global ROM won't boot on a China device.
BE CAREFUL! If you unlink your Mi account and lock the bootloader while using the global ROM, you won't be able to unlock the bootloader easily, essentially bricking the device.
In my case, I went back to the China ROM since I bought the tablet mainly to watch Netflix.
It's true some features are missing on the Chinese ROM (like Google Assistant) and I still have some Chinese text in "Search" but Netflix works perfectly and I use my phone as my daily driver so I don't really need the missing features on Xiaomi Pad 5.
My suggestion is to flash back to China ROM and stay with it. Make sure you still have your Mi account linked to the device to avoid any bricking.

Are you sure? So its safe to buy the Chinese device with global rom and just update it and itll get google certified? Seems too good to be true. The open bootloader isnt a problem?
I cant tell you what decision to make, only what worked for me. Open bootloader is not a problem.

Thank you. I really dont understand anything in this regard. Is there any chance that your device doesnt have the firmware found on a Chinese device with global rom from aliexpress? (so your experience might not be relevant here)

Question Change ROM from China to Global

Hello my friends,
I just bought the Chinese version of the IQOO 9 Pro, and I like it very much, but I have some issues with it which I didn't expect, like Google services doesn't update automatically, Android Auto doesn't work at all, part of the software is in Chinese and more..
So I decided I want to flash the global (or India) ROM, and as I understand it requires root access. So I know what it is and all the meanings of this, but I never rooted a phone and I'm afraid I don't know what to do, how to do it and mainly what to do after the device is rooted in order to flash the global ROM.
I saw some walkthroughs on the web, but I'm not sure it's exactly what I'm looking for in my case.
for example, I saw this one: Vivo Iqoo 9 Pro PD2172F Firmware Flash File (Stock ROM Guide)
But I'm not sure if it will work on my Chinese phone (PD2172C).
Maybe this one is more relevant ?
How To Install Custom Rom On Vivo IQOO 9 Pro
I mean, can I treat the official global ROM as a "custom ROM" and use this method ?
Any help with what exactly I should do to change the ROM will be very appreciated.
Thanks!

Yea, yea .. first and foremost you have to unlock bootloader and after that you can istall global (India) ROM. You do not root the ROM. The simple problem is how to unlock the bootloader because Vivo does not permit to do it.
