Wireless Charging Car Mount that doesn't block fingerprint scanner?? - Google Pixel 5 Accessories

Like the title says, does anyone know of a wireless charging car mount that does not block the fingerprint scanner on the pixel 5??

How about enabling Smart Lock for your car's bluetooth connection? You would not need fingerprint unlock at all.

i use a Nanami with both my pixel 3 and pixel 5. it's adjustable and the back sits below the fingerprint scanner
it's neat in that it will clamp as soon as it starts charging, and uses USB C

Do you know if this mount will stay on for a little bit after you turn off your car? Some phone mounts have this feature where a capacitor will hold a charge for about 30 seconds after you turn off your car so that you can still open up the clamps to grab your phone.

It does have a capacitor in it so when the car is off it can still release your phone. I haven't tried to see how long it lasts, but it's at least a minute

dodocool Wireless Charger, Fast Charge Qi wireless Charging pad (30% off Code Below)

dodocool Wireless Charger, Fast Charge Qi wireless Charging pad for Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge / Note5 / S6 Edge+ and All Qi-enabled Devices Black
I have a few Qi wireless chargers and a Qi enabled device (Nexus 6) but never use them mainly because they charge at a very slow rate but this dodocool Wireless Charger has Fast charging mode (Output 10W Max) which uses Quickcharge 2.0 so if your device has Quickcharge capabilities you will be able to take advantage of but if not the Standard charge mode (Output 5W Max) for standard Qi-enabled devices will also work. I can say I now use this wireless charger as my primary charger and even use it in the car and I know that sounds odd and did to me also at first after reading it in product description but the charger itself first off is angled downward which helps you to view your screen and most importantly the charger base has 2 silicon rings around it, one on the top and one on the bottom which help secure the charging base while sitting in care and the silicon ring on top of charger not only helps secure phone while on the charger but also protects phone from getting any scratches or wear marks. I must say Iā€™m very impressed with the overall function and looks of this wireless charger and highly recommend it. As a special gift to my Facebook/Twitter/G+ and YouTube friends here is a 30% off Code to use at checkout from my friends at dodocool.

Car fast charger?

Does anyone have a car charger that works with fast charging? Or any recommendations on one that will work?
If you're looking for wireless I don't think there is anything out there right now. I bought the iottie like a day or 2 before news broke of the speed reduction. They say they are not going to go for certification. I have an email out to Anker's marketing team.

The answer you get is: NO.
TL;DR: No.
I picked these up and will be trying them today...

there are tons of type c options out there, personally I'm using the PD charger from choetech. anything rated for either 3a/5v or PD will fast charge. this is the one I'm using:
CHOETECH USB C Car Charger 18W Power Delivery & Quick Charge 3.0 2-in-1 Dual USB Car Charger Compatible Pixel 2/Pixel XL,Galaxy S9/Note 8/S8, iPhone Xs XR XS Max 8/8 Plus/X, Nintendo Switch etc. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0747669PT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_quY0BbMAFH4XG
Here's a couple I would trust
Choetech 18 watt USB-C PD & Aukey 27 watt USB-C PD / 39 watt total
My other posts were about wireless quick charging. I got that on the brain, apparently.

Yes - I use the Iottie One Touch Wireless Charger and it works GREAT for every phone I have used it - including my Pixel Xl 3
It is a little pricey but it is the most versatile charger I have found - and it is very user friendly - for taking the phone in our out of the phone holder/charger.
I also really like the Iottie Discs they include with the charger/holder - it allows you to mount the charger/phone mount on a curved dash without any problems at all - and in a pinch, they can be removed without messing up the dashboard. Great Charger - great Car Phone Mount. Really is the best one I have seen

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's for wireless charging, not wired.

That's right. And, https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77982087&postcount=7
I've been using the Anker one and works really well. in essence any charger with USB Cand PD certification will do the trick

tried out my choetech 10w wireless car charger. didn't mess with any measurement apps since I knew it wouldn't charge at 10w, but it did charge the phone with navigation running, screen on and music streaming over bt. since it's powered by type c you can always just plug the phone in directly if you need fast charging, but if it outpaces navigation that's generally good enough for me.

I've been using a 10w wireless charger in the car and it works with Google Maps navigation and Bluetooth audio running. It doesn't charge fast but not having to deal with magnets is nice. The only issue is that if you turn the car off the arms won't open at the push of the button. Not a big issue because the pho e is easy to take out.
If I do need to fast charge I just place the phone in the crawl then unplug the power from the car charging mount and straight into the phone. I'm using a USB C PD car cigarette lighter socket.

Does it still charge and maintain a charge while using the phone for streaming/nav, etc?
Oh, and will it work if my XL has a bulky case?
I have a question.
See it's nice to have wireless chargers in the car with arms to hold the phone. Even better to have a wireless charger with magnet.
Now I won't go in debate of over charging the phone but is there a wireless charger for a car that has a button to turn ON and OFF the charge? I don't care with or without a magnet to hold the phone.
I drive allot so I don't mind a slow charging the phone, I do care about leaving the phone on without over charging it. Plugging the cord in and out isn't fun.

it does charge while using navigation - and Wireless Android Auto - (which is a pretty big drain on the battery) I don't know about a "Bulky Case" I use the Ringke Crystal Fusion Case" which is fairly thick - and it works fine for me - but I haven't tried any other case, so I can't say for sure.
I love the Iotti One Touch - Wireless - it is an awesome holder/charger
Good Luck

That looks really interesting, but I would be worried about the motorized aspect during Canadian winters. Many years ago I had a motorized face plate for my car stereo and it would never work during the colder days.

I agree, i did a bit more research and i think ill go or may go with something like this.

Granted i will have to install or use two side tape to attach two metalic strips onto the phones case to get the magnet stick to it. Should be piece of cake or buy those metallic rings that sell and attach them.
there is also this one, but sadly it doesnt come with a suction cup (which i really need) I does come with a metal ring tho.

Choetech Car wireless charger

I received a Choetech charger in exchange for posting this review. The charger sells on Amazon for $34.99. I have used it for a few days and came to the following conclusion.
Pros
Universal ball socket that connected to my existing Pro-clips base
Comes with a vent mount
USB-C port for the wireless charger - allows me to directly charge the phone, if needed
Cool mechanics to allow for one-handed docking/undocking
Includes a USB-A to USB-C cable. I used USB-C to USB-C with a PD charger.
Cons
Maxs out at 500mA like all the other non-Google OEM chargers
Requires a car charger for the 12V cig lighter.
A bit bulky
Happy to answer any other questions.

Can you show pics of the unit installed?
Also, does the phone get hot while charging, with screen on while navigating?
Finally, does the charger provide enough juice to charge the phone in the situation above?

Here are some pics. Charging seems to keep up with streaming audio and running GPS. Power stay flat. It does not go up or down while these apps are running and the phone is charging. Temp seems fine.
Need to continue testing on a longer trip.
Took a longer drive today. Power was flat while charging and playing a podcast and running waze.
Not crazy about how the bracket pushes against the volume rocker. See 3rd pic above.
Will use this until there is a wireless car charger that is google certified and can deliver at least 1.5 amps.
Update on this charger after a month of use.
I was able to raise the bottom bracket to keep the side grips from hitting the volume buttons.
I can install and remove the phone from the charger with one hand.
Even though I only get about 500 mA of charging, that has been enough to keep the phone battery flat while streaming audio and running GPS/Waze.
I am still hoping to see car chargers that are designed for Google and deliver more power.

Thanks for the update!
I was able to get 850mA using the Choetech wireless charger and this app on my rooted phone, https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3-xl/themes/root-faster-wireless-charging-using-t3900643
Now I can top off my battery when streaming audio and running Waze!

Recommend Car Charger

What VPA/Car charger do you guys recommend for the Note 10?
Thanks
Bump
yeah I'm looking for a good one that will charge like the 45watt wall charger. does something like that exist?
What about this?
I bought one of these last winter for my note 8. Shouldn't it work well?

I'm probably not the only person who traded in their Google pixel for this phone. I have the Belkin recommended 15 watt charger from my pixel days, I'm assuming that would give a underwhelming performance.

Fast car charger
I purchased the Vanmass from Amazon... when I purchased it, it was about $39, which is a little pricey, but it works great!
It's two side arms automatically close when you press your Note 10 or Note 10+ against the back of the charger. Charger attaches securely to your air vents, so there's no need to use suction cups. It also has two clear legs which support your phone, and they display red lighting when you first insert your phone, and the lighting changes to blue when it begins to charge, making it very easy to quickly see if your phone is being charged or not!
The mount also has a built in battery, so unlike some other "automatic close/open" car mounts, this one doesn't stop working when you shut your car off! It charges the battery inside the phone mount, so even if you turn your car off before removing your phone, you can still tap one of the two buttons on either side of the car mount, and the plastic side grips will automatically open for you, to make removing of your phone a breeze!
Well built, quality...
One negative... it doesn't come with a car charger that goes in the cig lighter, so you'll need to pick up a fast charger as well... I found one for about $8.
What about:

Highest possible wattage for wireless car charger? All I see is 10watt. No 15watt+?
All the wireless car chargers seems to only have 10watt for Notes, looks like 15watt for LG phones. samsung makes a 15watt wireless chargers stand so thought this would be possible for car chargers.
has anybody seen a wireless car charger that will charge a note 10 with more than 10watts?
thanks in advance
