Change unlock bootloader allowed from NO to YES with root? - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've recently obtained 2 new old stock Xperia Z1 Compact phones.
Both have their bootloader unlock allowed set to NO.
However, both are also running KitKat 4.2 with a really old kernel and the Easy Root Tool exploit should work to obtain root.
My question is whether the unlock allowed can then be forced to YES with the obtained root permissions and how?
I would like to flash LOS on both
Thanks,
Bobby

Not possible. There should be a HW way using testpoint

I am also trying to find a solution for this has anyone had any luck doing this with the S1 Tool and the bootloader unlock option using test point if yes please share here thanks.
I did find this https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ed-no-to-yes-is-now-finally-possible.4044091/

Xperia Neo Unlock Bootloader warranty

Hello! If i unlock my bootloader on my xperia neo and then lock it again will i lose my warranty?(i want to root my phone and seems that OTA update is not working so i want to try the method wich implies unlocking the bootloader)Thanks in advance!
Yes you will, unlocking bootloader deletes DRM certificates so even if you relock, sony will be able to tell i beleve the payed method of bootloader unlock does not delete the certificates though

Hello.
To root your phone you just have to downgrade to a 2.3.2 rom with wotanclient, root with gingerbreak and do an OTA update (no danger during the update as long as your bootloader is locked)

Is DRM keys the only big issue? If so, I can see that that can be worked around. I asked Sony about this today and they said that a lot of issues they see with their phones are as a result of modding, so if the BL is unlocked, you lose your warranty. I don't want to ruin a 2 year warranty on new phone. Yet, as Doomlord pointed out, Sony offered users to test the ICS which involved BL unlock...I'm confused.

[Q] Question about current root status on R800x

Hi,
I don't have enough posts to reply to thishttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197890&page=26 link, but i just want to know if there is any progress on rooting the r800x without having to unlock the BL. Like is any Dev working on an app like Gingerbreak or Z4 root to work on the r800x.
Sorry if this question as been asked already, im just curious because im tired of running out of space because of the bloatware.
Unfortunately Only SETool Box BL method works
Currently no, the only way to root is the paid SETool Box method of unlocking the Boot-Loader
It has been asked; I know because I've been searching as well

Sony Xperia M 4.3 Locked Bootloader CynogenMod

Device: Sony Xperia M C1905
Software: 4.3
Bootloader: Locked
Basically, every single method I have tried to root this phone has failed. All I want to do is have root access to my phone, I want to be able to:
Use CynogenMod (FOR CLASH OF CLANS)
take my apps2SD
Delete any crap from my phone
Full Customization abilities
All this can be achieve by rooting but MY BOOTLOADER IS LOCKED.
There are numerous ways out there that just don't work.
Does anybody know how to first root my phone, and then to have access to a mod?
I want the mod to be able to do all the things I listed previously.
I know this is possible with CynogenMod on other phones, but my bootloader is locked, and I just don't know what to do. Done numerous tutorials, none seem to be working or some don't even have any download links.
If someone could give me a step by step guide on how to mod and root my phone that would be perfect.
I will respond very quick, and will ask you questions if I need help.
I will listen and try to follow your steps, but please give me specific details, I'm not a pro modder.
Simply use towel root and get full root access
Just search in threads, how it works

I have tried that. I followed each step with the towel root hack.
Basically, after I've done it I go on Root Checker and no the root is not successful.
And with towel root you can't use Cyanogenmod.
You can't use Cyanogenmod if your bootloader is LOCKED, I have the same problem, my bootloader is on "Bootloader unlock allowed: NO" status, you can't because Cyanogenmod uses a custom KERNEL, which is impossible to do if your bootloader is locked. All we have to do is to wait for somebody to make a LB (locked bootloader) version of Cyanogenmod.

I see, I'll just get a new phone, 2gb of storage sucks and my camera has stopped working...

root without bootloader unlock?

Hi everyone,
Is there root available without unlocking bootloader? I've searched within "Sony Cross-Device General" and found iovyroot ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/iovyroot-temp-root-tool-t3349597 ) However it is dated and looks like a Lollipop OS temp root solution.
Great phone, but I have a feeling I'm going to be stuck like the LG G5 without root
PS. the XA1 Ultra I have is from Freedom Mobile in Canada - G3223
Afaik, not yet. I've been looking and waiting for a lb root solution as well. I wasn't even able to find a windows driver for my model so I had to modify the hardware info to make the one of the others install. Adb now works for me so I'm trying to get a ta backup before unlocking the bl to root.

Unfortunately, TA backup requires temp root as well. We had Dirtycow solution for XA Ultra, but we don't know about XA1 Ultra.
Moreover, we have to figure out how to restore TA after bootloader unlock (and root)

Bootloader unlocked allowed: no to YES

Hello dear members,
I have a Sony Xperia M5 variant e5606, today i searched and searched for an answers and ended up with no luck. I can't get root access because of the bootloader does not allow it, So I'm asking is there a way to flah my Sony so I can remove unwanted apps and leave it "clean"?

Cheers!
You can unlock the bootloader and flash a custom kernal with root access. You will find these in the android development section for the m5

Nope can’t unlock the boot loader the phone won’t allow it. It says “bootloader unlock allowed: NO” can’t change it to YES, I have an unlock sim so I can make call with every SIM card.
