After update to android 11 on samsung s20+ Dual Sim call ICONS does not appear anymore on contacts - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Before i can choose from wich sim i make call or send sms now i have only one in sms and for calls i can put option to chose every time.
Anyone know how to roll back this like in android 10?
Thx.

I am also interested in that if anyone can help

yes i noticed that also now u can't chose anymore from which sim u
gonna make call, you can either go on every contact and put
from wich sim you wanna call particular person by default
or you can go in settings and chose which sim is gonna be
default for contatcs, sms and mobile data.

Just hold the call button, then you can choose which SIM to make call.
Edit: It only works on recent calls screen.

Is it possible to install another version of dialer (previous one)? I really can't understand why they ruined a simple to use app.
What dialers are you using for dual-sim phones?

This implementation helps me a lot because I use SIMs from 2 different countries and I don't want to press the wrong button. I have many times pressed wrong buttons before.

Not only has Samsung destroyed a feature that makes it easier to make calls, but it also ruined the Audible features that I use all the time, now I wonder what else has been deleted or added that They think is good for the rest of us. We must all call these "Don't ask or tell what you want or the changes that matter to most all of us that have dual SIM setup. I need this phone for business and personal. I am searching for the previous op sys now.

This option is not available on the missed calls... If I have a missed call on sim2 and call back it now uses sim1... I liked the Android 10 better for dual sim

Well i recive mail from support where they conifrm i can forget this feaure anymore. So i sold my S20+ and buy MI 11. Keep it good work samsung

I will write to Samsung Report as well..
Any other place this app can be reviewed in other to put pressure in Samsung? Galaxy Store isn't possible..

Hi Everyone - FYI this same issue has been posted on many Samsung Communities threads and unfortunately Samsung has zero plans to fix the Samsung Messages app for SMS. Samsung also has zero plans to fix the dialer on the Samsung Phone app that results User Experience issues, Security Issues, Cost issues and Privacy issues.
Here is the temp solution....Just revert back to Android 10, UI 2.5 and you will get both SIM1 + SIM2 buttons for calls and Messages

[Q] Touch Tone not working

I am running [AOSP 4.3.1 Stable [DanKang] Slim + optimizations] and my touch tone isn't working on calls. For example, when I call a support number it asks to press 1 for department A, 2 for department B and so on. When I press a number there is no response at all. I have tried a few different support numbers and it never works on my phone. I have a stock GS3 that I tested with the same support numbers and touch tones are working.
Dial pad touch tones is enabled, what could be causing this?
Open Phone Apps go to settings. Once there, make sure Phone Touch tone box is checked.

Must be really dilapidated old exchange. Switch to pulse instead of DTMF. Can't remember the process right now. It will come to me.
Can you even enable pulse dialing on a cell phone? IIRC pulse dialing works by simulating the hanging- and picking-up of the phone in quick succession, and that can only be done with landlines.

same issue
When certain numbers are dialed I can not select the extension. Other numbers work without incident. I am currently back to official stock, but have tried the 4.3, full stock, slim, and deodexed;
same issue. I have also tried various apps- no avail.
can any one explain how to set the pulse dialing in the dialer to see if that works?
or any other suggestions? another phone is not an option at this moment.
I have to dial this *problem number on a daily basis. It worked fine with my old mytouch ,unfortunately the phone bit the dust.

DTMF is enabled by Keypad tones on my AOSP 4.3 Rom. I believe for Touchwiz stock roms its under
dialer>menu>Call Settings>Ringtones and keypad tones>Keytones
On some S3, under Call Settings > Other Call Settings > DTMF Tones
EDIT - Just realized. If you had Bluetooth on and connected, then I know for a fact these touch tones don't come over bluetooth. Best if you try without bluetooth on.

If you go into the phone settings, there should be a setting called "identify unsaved numbers". Enable that. Profit.
Works great on mine. It may be country dependant though. Not sure if the setting is available on yours.

Hmm, I don't see it on mine either. Mine is the ATT variant.
That sucks. Maybe certain carriers disabled it. I'm on Telus in Canada now and it works, and my previous S7 Edge on Rogers also had the feature. It's awesome.
Perhaps it's on certain models? I'm running a dual sim version on Koodo and I don't have it either..

Maybe that's it. Disabled via software on certain models.
I don't have that option. Instead, I have this payed software installed by T-Mobile by default:

I have the Sprint version of payed caller ID installed on my phone.
The "identify unsaved numbers" is hidden but available in all ROMs. It might not work in your country so they disabled it for you. To get the option do the follwoing:
1. Download Nova Launcher and install it.
2. Once installed, run it and add an activity widget by long pressing on the screen.
3. In the list of activities to choose from (they are in groups by applications) scroll down to the Phone app. There are three Phone apps. Choose the one with the most activities (I had 99 activities in it, you might get less or more)
4. Once you click the Phone app, the list of activities will collapse and if you scroll down touwill find the "Identify unsaved numbers". Click on it to save the widget.
5. Click on the widget and enable the option.
6. Remove Nova Launcher to get back to TW.

Edit: Nvm, figured it out. Need to long press, and select Widget. Under the Noiva Launcher group, select activities. Then go from #3.
Thanks for the help!
Cool. Got it enabled, but it is still not working as it should. Thanks to Sprint for making the phone just a bit worse.
it's showing on the UK variant I just picked up from O2. however I think it has the base firmware on it as it lacked all the O2 bloatware.
Thanks for the Nova guide, ATT user here and I also have that paid ID bs on my phone.
Reading up on it a bit more, it sounds like on some carrier versions, using Nova to enable doesn't change anything. Sounds like there is more involved with it. I have it enabled, but don't see any changes. Also, the local search doesn't work as well. Guess I'll use Google Phone in the meantime... At least i can get local search.
It is installed on the UK Samsung unlocked model.

Guide: Auto Call Recording on Galaxy A50

Call recording is included in One UI but is accessible only through the Dialler settings. Due to this, it may not come to the attention of a lot of users who might expect it to be under the normal Settings app. The following image lists the steps to be undertaken towards enabling call recording on the A50 or in general on any One UI device.

The screenshots are from my device, so unsure why the option isn't available to you. The calls are recorded and stored under a 'Call' folder at 128 Kbps in 'm4a' format. Presently my phone is running the latest firmware but the screenshots were taken using the previous version. However, the functionality has always been there.
The only thing that comes to mind is that I had done a factory reset after the first update. It is possible that this might have made a difference, but I can't vouch for it.

yeah coz it's illegal in a lot of places to record calls without permission - that's why most call centers have the canned message "this call may be recorded for quality assurance" - it's so you can decide to hang up if you decide you don't want to be recorded

Message app works fine. Dialer also works fine to call. The contact app crashes. But I found that if you disable the phone permission of contacts app, you can use the app. I know it beats the purpose of the app but still. You can view the details of contacts and then u can just search the contact using dialer short hand typing.

Question Call ID Problems

Hi everbody.
I'm now a proud owner of the Aquos R6, freshly imported from Japan to Germany.
It's a great device, but i have problem.
If Volte is activated i don't receive a Call ID from my contacts. My provider said they can't do anything. It was google dialer preinstalled and has all permissions. If Volte is deactivated it shows the name and number. Is there a solution for this, someone has the same problem? Also i have no wifi calling option.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

Did you save your contact by using full country code as prefix ?
There's a chance the provider network sending the number information in a different format when VoLTE is activated.
Try to remove one of your contact from phonebook, and try to receive call from those number with and without VoLTE and check whether the number formatting change (prefix, etc)

I tried it as you said by removing a contact and it indeed change the the number to full format with prefix, but as soon i activate VoLTE it changes to unknown. If i save the contact with prefix it still happening. I know it's an import Smartphone, but i never had this problem on any other device.
