Successful Case(s) of Rooting the Latest Android 11 Firmware? - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Hi all using S20,
Samsung have released Android 11 firmware for the S20 series recently.
So has anyone of you here already installed this firmware and got it rooted successfully (with Magisk)?
I've already had the firmware at hand but not installed it on my S20 (SM-G9810, BRI), since I dare not get the firmware rooted.
Thank you guys in advance!

Had 0 issues. Also have twrp.
Only had a problem hiding magisk but that was probably my fault.
Flash twrp with Odin, install magisk through twrp.

Yep, easily. Follow the guides and read and you should be victorious

Hello everyone. I'm glad i found this topic which is about what I'm exactly trying to solve now. Ive been using Android 10 which was rooted using Magisk. I got a Samsung S20+ (SM-G986B). I was using a method where i had to extract the Android 10's boot image file which i had to patch with Magisk app and then flash it using Odin. Which finally rooted the Android 10. Now i updated my android to the latest 11 build country code (PHN) Netherlands. The same method caused my phone to get stuck at bootloop. The same happens when i just flash Magisk using TWRP right away. My bootloader is unlocked so i'm not sure what is causing the bootloop. Could the problem be that im using the (PHN) firm?. Can you guys maybe share in which country model firm you've successfully be able to flash Magisk right away? Thanks in advance. I'm using many apps which requires root so i need to get the android 11 rooted asap. Or i will have to roll back to Android 10. Thanks in advance for any help

On android 11 you need to copy firmware's AP file to the phone, patch it with latest magisk (canary, in my case), and flash it with Odin (AP slot) instead of original AP file, and you're done.
In case if you prefer to work with a small file on the phone, extract boot.img.lz4 and vbmeta.img.lz4 from AP, pack both extracted files as a single tar file (7zip > tar) - boot_vbmeta.tar - and flash it in the USERDATA slot (remember to flash original AP file in the AP slot).

You have to flash a vbmeta disabled file in the user data section of Odin. You'll find the vbmeta file in the rooting thread on XDA

I patched the whole AP .tar.md5 file using Magisk Manager and it worked!. I'm really thankful to you guys. I do want to note that i could not patch the AP file of the Android 11 firmware version i had. İt ended up giving me a error. What i did is downloading a more recent Android 11 firmware for SM-G986B (PHN). And Magisk thankfully recognized it and i could patch the AP .md5 file and flashed lt alongside with other original components using odin and it worked. Anyways thank you very much for the great help. Now i can continue from where i left off. XDA didn't disappoint me again. Much appreciated

What about updating? Can we use this method to install a newer One UI version without losing data? Is this even what the USERDATA slot means?

How to install Magisk ???
If one of it's installation steps is to be fully unrooted first and the boot image should be stock.
I already rooted and modified the boot image as for this device we need to flash a file to the boot.img to stop the device from encrypting the internal storage to be able to mount it.

By Odin flash TWRP, copy the Magisk file to the memory of the phone or to the SD card and Magisk flash by TPWR recovery.
When you restart, install the Magisk manager apk and that's it.

This is normal and it happened because you flashed the AP file only
If you want to get rid of these Russian providers menus and have stock settings menu you need to flash the full rom files (BL+AP+CP+CSC) via Odin.

Many people reported that the Russian firmware is working flawlessly on A320FL Model and no one mentioned any issues during the flash process.
For me, first time i flashed the rom the flash progress stopped near the end because i was using the 3.10.7 (not 3.12.7 as you mentioned) version just like you.
After using the 3.12.3 version it worked perfectly.
So you nead to use the latest version of Odin (3.12.3)
Whether this method can be applied in galaxy a7 2017 running in nougat?

help rooting note 10 plus xsp model

Hi I've been trying to root my mote 10 plus Singapore model running the latest software update ending in ash5 and for some reason I can't seem to get it working. My oem is unlocked, I patched the ap file using magisk manager 7.3.4 and im using the latest verson of oden. When I add all the files into oden and use the regular csc file it will hang on user data. If I use the home.csc file instead it will always freeze on cache. Are there any guides on rooting the note 10 plus that are up to date?
Thanks in advance!

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Model SM-T875 finally Rooted

Hello. I have managed to Root My Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Model SM-T875 with KNOX value 0x1 and no custom recovery has been installed. I am linking an image from Root Checker
bit.ly/3kOE6NW
Sorry for bitly link guys, this is my first post so not allowed to post url, pls understand
Only for SM-T875
If you have any other models, let me know, I will patch their boot.tar and provide link for the same
Steps for root :
Download and install the latest version of Magisk Manager
Make sure you have an unlocked boot loader
On your PC, download Odin and put your S7 into download mode
Flash the tar file listed here
I am linking the exact boot.tar image I used
bit.ly/3j4mYDw
Sorry for bitly link guys, this is my first post so not allowed to post url, pls understand
In Odin, select the AP option, make sure ur tab is connected in COM1 and then select the boot.tar file. Once flashed, you have to restart your device.
NOTE
Once this boot.img file is flashed you will get this an error saying your device is not on official firmware and you will have to hard reset your device, go ahead and hard reset your device, you might think its in bootloop but it is not. Once hard reset is done, your device will boot twice, make sure to press the power button each time to skip the unlocked bootloader warning. Once done, set up your tab as new one. Now Magisk Manager will not be installed on your device. For root , go ahead and install Magisk Manager again and this time Magisk will be installed in your device and your Knox value will be 0x1 and warranty will be void and device will be rooted
If any questions, please feel free to ask
Hope this helped you

QP1A.190711.020.T875XXU1ATI4 and device says upd are available ATJ4 Something. with october patch. The boot image you have linked is of which firmware ?. Should I update and then root.
EDIT:
Anyways i followed this guide by Dr ketan for rooting which i used for my Note 20 Ultra and it didnt work with patching AP file method.

So i downloaded the latest firmware which was ATJ4 my CSC version was CAC so i downloaded same firmware from SAMFW(super website with downloads resumable via google drive option.
1. I extracted boot.img.lz4 from AP file of stock firmware downloaded and made a TAR file of it with 7Zip
2. Put it in phone and used magisk manager on tab to patch this file
3. Copy back to PC and flash via odin 3.14.3 in AP tab and uncheck auto reboot in ODIN
4. Booted straight into stock recovery and wiped/factory reset
5. Now i have root on Tab S7 T785.

I have the Tab S6 and I love it. I am thinking to buy the Tab S7+. I was very quick to root the Tab S6 and did not take much notice of the Knox trip. Is there any sell value if the tablet cannot have certain apps working such as secure folder? I understand even if you unroot and relock the bootloader then knox is still going to be changed to 0x1

Question ROOT A32 4G

Many users report imei errors months after rooting. I don't recommend rooting. we do not know the origin of the problem
Hi friends.
On Topjohnwu's github, there´s a note about root any Samsung without recovery
Basically, extract the AP from stock firmware, copy it to phone, install magisk from xda forum, patch it, download the patched file to your pc and flash it using Odin.
You must fresh flash the entire ROM and the patched AP, userdata MUST be formatted (use CSC, not HOME_CSC)
Use it at your own risk, Knox wil be tripped and you could brick your phone.
Search the note into Topjohnwu´s github, Magisk section, Install and search for specific samsung section.
Be careful and enjoy rooting!

Here's my story, I patched the AP file and flashed it using odin, didn't add any other stock firmware files. I was able to attain root privileges, then the unthinkable happened. I received a call and it got disconnected instantly. The network signals vanished, I restarted the phone and was welcomed with a flash notification message "IMEI null or invalid."
I've since flashed it 10-12 times.
IMEI hasn't been restored, wifi works though.
I've given up hope now, my daughter attends her school classes on it.
I have never heard of such a case. Where did you get the boot.img from? It must be the same version as your phone. I recommend you flash a clean software by Odin, without root, and verify that everything is normal

Downloaded and extracted the AP file from the original firmware. It has happened with another guy, he did post a video on youtube, fixed it using some Z3X box.
The firmware was the original, but was it the same version as the one you had installed?

Nope, I've given up. Can't invest any more money on the Z3X box..
Why don't you flash the whole system from Odin? No modifications. That should work

I've already done that 10-12 times to no avail.
You must download the exact version of rom for your country/carrier. Search for it in sammobile.
Can't understand what the problem is.
I´ve got no problem at all

Were you able to root it?
Also, in addition to the patched AP file do we need to flash the BL, CP and CSC files?
Yep no issues. Magisk hide, all working.
When you extracted the boot img, there where another files into the AP file provided by samsung that must be flashed too.
Do you have the patched file? Try flashing BL, CP, CSC and AP and then flash again only the patched boot.img into AP.
But I think it has nothing to the root with loose of imei.
Was your phone a company one? Like verizon, etc?

No, it's unlocked. Did you patch the whole AP file or just the boot file through magisk? I patched the entire AP file. If you could please list all the steps, it would be a huge help. Thanks.

I saw a video of rooting the f62, here's the link. Please take a look and let me know if the steps are the same.
