LineageOS 17.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*
*/
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Requirements
* You must read this post completely
* You must have flashed a stock MM update to update the firmware to a version that is compatible with these builds. Search XDA for the best way to do so for your device (if you already did that prior to installing any Nougat ROM, you are fine!).
* You must use the search first and make sure your question has not been answered yet!
* Do NOT ask for the availability of features or if any specific app works - we implement / announce new features when we want to
* Use the latest TWRP available, otherwise expect issues
* If you have a problem, do not ask if someone else has it. Post with logs or don't post at all!
Important note:
Stock Firmware B360 and B370 are known to cause bootloops!
(Generally: if your stock ROM supports VoLTE it is likely that it is also affected!)
All others might work, please do not ask in here how to up- or downgrade!
Issues?
* Search the thread!
* Anything running VoLTE firmware
Every other feature and hardware is assumed WORKING, do not ask if it does or ask others if it's working for them. Don't post without logs!
Also, see here:
If you are the only one having a problem: boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.
LOGS LOGS LOGS!!!!
See here how to get them!
If you have a hard reboot (to the vendor boot logo, not the LineageOS boot logo), use adb or any other file explorer tool to pull a copy of "console-ramoops" after the reboot and provide that.
adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops
Note: We will not support any kind of modification on the ROM not done by our sources. If you are running XPosed, Kernel Booster or whatever occurs to you, we won't support you in any way. The problem will in every case be treated as the additional softwares' fault (because often it is!)

Wow! astonishing. Just going clean flash and report back asap. Thanks Michael for this and continuous support over the years. Was waiting for this eagerly.
Edit : so far so good. Almost everything working. Battery life is right. I guess better than previous versions.

@BadDaemon
I encountered some bugs with chrome. Well, now the issue is my 5x charging cable port isn't in good shape. So talking logs with adb isn't simple. Even installing something like matlog needs me to use ADB. So can i root with magisk? So that i can have root permissions, so the log at system level is possible! or anything else that can be done for this thing!

Hi!
Thank you for this HUGE update!
Which recovery can we use? TWRP? LineageOS?

* Use the latest TWRP available, otherwise expect issues

Great, thank you

Hi!, I have installed this version, with OpenGApps Pico.
I have an issue : the SIM 1 (nano Sim) is not visible. SIM 2 and SD Card are OK. What information/logs do you need for that?

adb logcat -b all
taken from boot until everything is booted

Here is my logcat. (SIM 1 not working)
Only SIM2 (BASE) is seen, not ORANGE
EDIT: logcat without magisk
EDIT2: new tests and 3 logcats
- OK with clean install lineageOS 16 official alone : SIM1 and SIM2 are seen
- NOK with clean install lineageOS 17 unofficial alone : only SIM2 is seen
- NOK 2 after reboot lineageOS 17 : none SIM is seen
after next reboot SIM2 is seen

Other bug: I cannot add a widget with the "Add Widget menu" : the widgets list shows, if I click a widgets it asks to do a long press, I do an long press but cannot drag it to the launch screen.

The calendar app displays white on white text on the grid and the menu (I have a dark native theme)

a) Please edit your post, makes it easier to see everything at once
b) what's the "agenda"? - Edit: Move back to white design, go to calendar, Burger menu, Settings, Common settings->Design and choose "Black" there. Etar (our Calendar app) doesn't really play nice with system settings. Then you can switch back to dark theme for the whole system
c) in your logcat I only see magisk being mentioned. Can you try your sim issue without magisk? adb root works without any other root solution
d) The Trebuchet issue is my fault (had some test changes in my tree, next build will allow for adding widgets, again)

Agenda is "calendar", I'll uninstall Magisk and test
I've edited my posts

why you specifically have issues with me? lol i had asked you how to take log without adb and asked regarding magisk to be installed? Yet you choose to answer another user and not me. No personal bashing but lol idk what's wrong. I was the one when other people use to steal ur code was got infraction from mods when i asked other users to make their own device trees. I guess that doesn't matter. How come my post was irrevelant and not other user who asked about magisk also?

I've edited post #11 withs new tests on clean installs and logcats : LOS16 is OK, LOS17 is NOK

Problem with fingerprint:
Installation ok, but it does not work in praxis

Alternatively go to dev options (press "build number" in "About phone" 7 times to activate it), activate the switch "Shortcut for bugreport", then go to Settings->Keys->Power key and activate it there as well. Long press power-key and then use the new menu item.
Only if rooted:

Coming from unofficial 14.1 or CM13?
When you already had an unofficial (pre-official) build installed (or are about to upgrade from CM13 the first time), feel free to install the " experimental" build. As we have tightened security, this build is meant to preserve your data during migration. After you have booted it once, please install the next official nightly to complete the procedure (and get rid of the watermark). Please note that this might fail so always take a backup first!
For more info visit this LINK
Update: The experimental builds are gone, you have to clean flash (full wipe) to install LineageOS

Excellent!!! I am off to test. You the man!
So it begins... going to test this over the weekend
Thanks OP. Have been running it since this morning and it's smooth. I installed both "previous" versions (the 498MB one still with CM and the first 496MB one).
Awesome! Now i'll just wait for the fingerprint, camera and network to be fixed!
Awesome work, love it

What exactly do you mean with "network"? SIM 1 and 2 are working, with data. WiFi is also working like a charm.

You don't want to be running something that was randomly sitting on my download server earlier today. If your build date is before 3pm est then please download and install what is there now.
Earlier builds had problems.
Would be nice to have the expanded desktop version per app to in the next udate . Expanded desktop works fine but only if i turn it on for everything.
Cant choose it per app yet!

General LineageOS issue, not only on our device. (Have reported it)
Please note that requesting something for any update (especially the "next") is not required, we priorize our work items without that
Awesome. This is really a nice year ender announcement for our device. Don't have time to test though. But will definitely flash once the few bugs are fixed.

Flashed it a few hours ago, everything works great (except the things pointed out in the OP). Thank you so much to @crpalmer and @BadDaemon for bringing Nougat goodness to our device. The amazing devs for this phone have made the US$180 I paid sooo worth it
About the fingerprint sensor, is it a safe guess that unless Huawei releases Nougat for our device, the fingerprint sensor won't work? Or is it something else?

At this point all that is safe to assume is that it doesn't work and neither BadDaemon nor I have had a chance to investigate why.
Downloading right now to test. You are the best !!!!
Edit. Installed following the instructions from 1#post (ROM boot, setup. Then gapps and wipes) gapps working perfect. I dont go back to MM for now

We are using Open GApps (Link) Arm64 version. (make sure to use 64bit when using other packages), others might also be working and make sure you download the right version. I do not recommend stock or full or anything that replaces default apps as this has been known to cause problems (e.g. replacing the dialer with a stock dialer can make it crash).
Note: In case you want to use any gapps, YOU MUST install the right gapps the first time that you flash a marshmallow or later ROM. Do not boot with an older gapps or without one and then try to install it later.

New builds should be starting this week, I woudn't recommend installing any of the April builds and wait for the new builds.
The new builds are based on the Nougat_88 release and includes a completely redone kernel and all the blobs have been updated to the latest official release.
Enjoy it when it's built!

I guess you could say that, but really mostly the new thread is because the old thread was created by a user who was helping out when none of the maintainers were reading the forums and therefore there was no thread for the device (and thanks for him doing that). Now I'm supporting ether and I wanted to have a thread that I could manage so I can update the information as needed.
Anybody got WiFi hotspot automatically connected on 7.1.2 when Bluetooth connects. I have tried all automate, micro droid, tasked etc cannot get it work. Any help appreciated. Thanks
New nightly is up
Fresh installed the new nightly, seems much snappier than the last one. Thank you dev!!
Edit: LED light still doesn't work. Hopes it works someday!
Are you referring to the single notification LED at the bottom?
Btw which set of Gapps are you using?

Yup. The charging LED that works on stock ROM and I flashed the latest arm64 OpenGapps pico.
Have you tested do all the cores work?
Amazing rom, way better than the older builds. Snappy, smooth, hopefully battery is better.

All cores are working. Running really smooth.
@crpalmer battery led isn't working and pictures taken with flash enabled are overexposed.
Does the LED show notification?
I just looked at the LEDs and, well, two things.
First, charging is shown by the cloud leds (4 lights on the back) which indicate the percentage charged while plugged in.
Second, well, derp! For some reason the device was configured to disable notifications by default. This should be fixed in the next build (just running a build to do a clean install to verify it) but if you install the first build you will need to enable them manually by going to:
Settings >> Notifications >> Gear icon >> Notification light
and enabling "Notification light".
So the only bug is the overexposed image when camera flash is used?

Seems so.
And missing OMS support

I just looked at the LEDs and, well, two things.
First, charging is shown by the cloud leds (4 lights on the back) which indicate the percentage charged while plugged in.
Second, well, derp! For some reason the device was configured to disable notifications by default. This should be fixed in the next build (just running a build to do a clean install to verify it) but if you install the first build you will need to enable them manually by going to:
Settings >> Notifications >> Gear icon >> Notification light
and enabling "Notification light".
Click to collapse
I turned it on last night and it didn't seem to work.
And now, I see the notification light is working!
I thought it should be enabled in a kernel level like Moto devices.
I didn't even realize that the four dots on the back were the lights.
Edit: Notification light keeps on sometimes. Gone after reboot.

LineageOS 16.0 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9.0 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*
*/
Code:
[COLOR=RED][B]Important note:[/B][/COLOR]
Stock Firmware B360 and B370 are known to cause bootloops!
(Generally: if your stock ROM supports VoLTE it is likely that it is also affected!)
All others might work, please do not ask in here how to up- or downgrade!
Known Issues / NOT working / "Bugs"
* Search the thread!
* Anything running VoLTE firmware
* You tell me! (See "Other Issues")
Everything else WORKS, do NOT ask if anything (feature, function, ...) specific is working or not (Search the thread if you want to make sure and if you don't find it: test it yourself)
Other Issues?
Before posting on this thread, make sure of a few things:
You've utilized the search function of the forums. Nothing irritates us more than lazy people who do not search for an answer before asking or ask the same question over and over again.
If you are the only one having a problem: boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.
LOGS LOGS LOGS!!!!
Press BOTH volume keys + power key - it will vibrate very short. Wait until a notification appears that the bugreport is ready, send it to your mail and post it.
Alternatively go to dev options (press "build number" in "About phone" 7 times to activate it), activate the switch "Shortcut for bugreport", then go to Settings->Keys->Power key and activate it there as well. Long press power-key and then use the new menu item.
Only if rooted:
Use this: SysLog by Tortel
If you have a hard reboot (to the vendor boot logo, not the LineageOS boot logo), use adb or any other file explorer tool to pull a copy of "console-ramoops" after the reboot and provide that.
Code:
adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops
Note: We will not support any kind of modification on the ROM not done by our sources. If you are running XPosed, Kernel Booster or whatever occurs to you, we won't support you in any way. The problem will in every case be treated as the additional softwares' fault (because often it is!)
Changelog
* Gerrit (All)
* Device tree
* Kernel
Download Links
ROM: https://download.lineageos.org/kiwi
Again: if you need Google-Apps, install them after flashing the ROM and BEFORE the first reboot!
Google apps addon:
(Note: Not required to run the ROM)
We are using Open GApps (Link) Arm64 version, others might also be working (make sure to use ARM 64bit when using other providers!)
Note: In case you want to use any gapps, YOU MUST install the right gapps the first time that you flash the ROM. Do not boot with an older gapps or without one and then try to install it later.
Note: If you install a package which replaces the default dialer (mostly "Stock Gapps") you have to go to Settings->Apps->Gear-Icon and set the new dialer as a default telephony app to prevent force closing of apps
Root addon:
Official download site - our device is ARM64
Don't use SuperSU or other tools, otherwise expect bootloops!

Can you please ask a full question? i can not tell what you want to know. And by the parts of the question I can interpret I can already tell you this is not the right place to ask, because this thread is about LineageOS 16.0 only
can I install with the same method as the 15.1 version?
with TWRP from the SD Card?
Thanks I am very happy about the official Pie support, but there is no 16.0 rom under the given url, only 15.1 named roms.
Builds will appear when builds are done. Wait patiently...
Yes, update is possible via TWRP from sdcard, just dont forget about gapps (need to flash as well before first boot) when you want them

I was worried because it is not mentioned in the first description.
I installed 15.1 & gapps from the SD card successfully.
Amazing!
Thank you for supporting this phone and keeping it still usable with official releases!

OTG support: Yes, as far as I know.
Fast charging: Not sure.
On 28 the kiwi build status was failed on lineageOs build servers.
There is absolutely no need to spam this thread with build failures etc. Read the first post, first line in red, that's all there is to say. Our infra guys are working on the issue.

Instructions:
Take a backup first from your actual system!
Before instaling, make sure you are running the latest Oreo firmware from the latest HTC Sense.
If you are encrypted but running an AOSP ROM then you're fine. If you come from Sense, take a full backup of all your data, boot into TWRP and format data (the option which requires you to type "yes") and clean flash accordingly. This is due to encryption changes. Do not skip this step or you will be locked out of your system by a password prompt.
If you are coming from any other ROM wiping /system & /data is strongly recommended
Download the latest build and GApps (both links are below).
Reboot to TWRP.
Flash the latest build and magisk ( optional ) after make one reboot.
When system is booted, reboot to TWRP and flash gapps
Reboot and enjoy (as much as currently possible)

SeLinux permissive ( will be fixed when the bugs are fixed )
Reporting bugs:
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred (please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing).
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg (do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot, a logcat after a reboot is useless).
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved.

could not set screen-1 with discovery for stock launcher (trebuchet) - any hints ?
great build, thank you @fagyi
Maybe it's better to perfect past ROM's before tackling new ones? They have a lot of problems and things that require improvement, and you again strive to quickly port an actual android with new problems and bugs. Brilliant.

What are the problems you have discovered so far on this lineage 18 port? I believe if you have found any it will be fixed in the next build, This rom is too stable to be a beta rom because I'm using it as my daily driver. Without the likes of fagyi we would have still be on stock oreo.

What is the many bugs in previous versions? Pls list of that on LOS 17.1 thread or Pixelexperience ( logcat & dmesg would be nice with bugs ).
The lot of problems which you mentoined I feel an exaggeration.

To be sincere @fagyi I'm very happy that you owned this our HTC 10 device, at least we will expect more major update like android 12/13, on this old device. Coming from device that has no community support like galaxy s6 g920p every owner had no choice than to use stock base nougat roms but here is a different story, we have the likes of Fagyi who is working tirelessly to make sure that this device get updated more faster than those popular devices, I think we should be grateful to him.
Rom passed safety net by enabling magisk hide in magisk modue

Performance is absolutely perfect. I've been using it since DD3Boh started a beta a while back. Everything works amazingly well. The only issue, as mentioned in the OP, is that video recording has really low volume for some reason. Other than that. The phone flies with Lineage on it. What screenshots do you want to see?

I think that's the issue that I'm having as well. Can you please tell, what you've done exactly to get it to work? What do you mean with "I had to put it into f2fs"?
Thanks a lot
I now managed to get it to install (maybe because I installed from a USB stick?).
Besides LineageOS, I also installed open_gapps open_gapps-arm64-10.0-nano-20201219.zip.
Before I installed, I did a wipe.
It boots fine but the first time setup wizard crashes after selecting the language (English US, but I also tried German Switzerland). At most I somehow made it to the section where the WiFi is to be selected. But then System UI will crash and I also get a crash from Android Setup.
Sometimes, I *am* able to connect to a WiFi and it shows as being connected in the upper right hand side. But then I get a screen showing "Couldn't connect". But I _am_ connected and on this WiFi, there is also NOTHING which would block anything.
I installed it but I'M stuck in the setup process and it says checking for updates, how can I fix that?
Updates to my last post:
I managed to get past this crash during setup, by wiping the cache and NOT connecting to WiFi or mobile data. So it is now working for me - mostly... :/ vvv
But: Fingerprint sensor does not work I tried installing the app from @ralovesoc from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SYvZNP2ofqko-TLrJcZt8M6sru8XYE6y/view?usp=sharing, but still no go

Thanks, but I don't quite understand. What do you mean with permanently unlock? When I Boot to bootloader, it shows "locked" and I need to do the "fastboot oem_unlock …" command.
anyway, how would I regain calibration?
