Getting Viper4android (4 magisk) to work ^^ - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Guides, News, & Discussion

Well I've been trying hardly to get the regular magisk viper4android to work, didn't work.
Seems y'all need to use the legacy version from the magisk installer to get it to work until the devs are solving the problem.
It's because of the separation of USB I guess.
If someone needs further assistance or advices feel free to comment!

I don't have my phone yet but last I heard magisk was not the way to get a working v4a for anyone. the last working version I had came from an apk install of version 2.7.1.0

Dirty Unicorns can't install V4A drivers

Hey guys. I'm trying to get viper4android working on my Nexus 5x running the most recent stable version of Dirty Unicorns.
I tried just normally installing the apk. Changing selinux to permissive. I have the newest version of su and BusyBox installed and yet the driver refuses to install. Every time I restart my phone it says I need to install the driver.
I've been looking around online and I can't seem to find a good answer for what exactly I need to do to get it working.
The popular thread in the Nexus 6 section has way to much info and I just can't follow it to install it properly. I basically want viper4android so I can use pulse with Spotify.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Flash either of these ViperAudio or ViperAtmos (if you want Dolby Atmos too) in TWRP. It works even with systemless root and enforcing SELinux.

Installing V4A or other audio mods

Hello everybody. I have Magisk and couldn't install Viper module, neither the usual viper .zip via TWRP.
Have you been able to install any of the available audio mods on your Z2 Play?
I too am interested.
I prefer the Atmos version, ViPERAtmos 4.8 Sony Beats Universal Edition, but I don't think it's compatible with Nougat.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I installed ARiSE sound system in my z2 play, which contains Viper and Dolby Atmos
I have a module called viper 4arise installed and its working very well

Could you post a link to the download / thread that worked for you? I can try to install and make a simple tutorial for other folks.
Thanks!

Thanks! I've looked at ARISE a few times, but it seems life meant steps to install. I guess I'm going to have to bear it.
Does it sound as good at Atmos?
I manage to install it. It's overall pretty simple. You can extract the installation .prop file to /emulated/0 and edit it there to get a 1 cycle install. Otherwise your first try will do just that and return an error (so you'll have to edit the file anyways).
I tried all versions of viper there but none worked (all showed abnormal status) also, remember to mark for installation the Magisk compatibility.
I'm using Atmos, working very nicely, but still wish Viper had worked...

That's weird, I have Viper and atmos working in my device. Previously I set SElinux permissive and installed Busybox
Oh that must be it. I have it on enforcing. Will test with permissive then. Thanks!
Well, it worked! AriSE with SELinux mode changer set to permissive.
Thanks a lot!
With Dolby and viper our speakers sound WAY better! Headphones are even more awesome!

Anyone tried flashing arise soundmod in oos oreo?

I tried to search the thread of arise but I can't find someone with a oneplus 3 who flashed arise in oreo. Thanks
Yes, I am using Arise's Magnum Opus build with Open Beta 25. Arise core module, dolby digital and Viper4Arise working fine for me. AM3D not working. What help do you need?
Really @ishanp? Okay, I guess I'll try to install it too. I just read from jamal's thread that divine beats doesn't work because busybox isn't working with oreo and I assumed that since viper also uses busybox that it won't work. Thanks bro!
Use meefik's busybox from Play Store and install in /sbin/
Alternatively if you can run Magisk you can go systemless Busybox route too.
So what's your install process with arise @ishanp? Install busybox first, then flash arise?
Precisely. Make sure you properly configure your arise.prop and keep it in /sdcard/ before flashing.
Enable ONLY Core module and Viper 2.5.0.5

ViPER4Android installer
I have had the Pixel 2 XL for only a few days, and am still undecided on whether i will continue with the device. In the meantime here is ViPER4Android for the Januray update.
Please note, for stock pixel rom, you need to use the Magisk modules and not use the system installer. The system installers only seem to work for AOSP based roms like LineageOS.
These are provided as is, and i may not be supporting this for long. As of today i still have the device and can mess around with it. Lets see if this thing can keep me interested.
Magisk Modules, should work on Stock and AOSP
WETA V4A 2.3.4.0 Magisk Module
WETA V4A 2.5.0.5 Magisk Module
V4A System installers, installed to system/vendor permanently AOSP only, and you have to have verity disabled
WETA V4A 2.3.4.0 System installer AOSP
WETA V4A 2.5.0.5 System installer AOSP

Keep that expensive Pissel and make a super Weta sound mod. Haha. They tell me Pissel 3 will be better. Nice camera.

Welcome back! Good to see you developing for us again, thanks for all of your work, past and future.
I flashed WETA V4A 2.5.0.5 Magisk Module on stock 8.1 with magisk root. I am on ElementalX Kernel. Works great for when Pandora or some music app is playing. It correctly says it is processing. The issue I have is it doesn't process any ringtones or notifications. When I had this installed on 7.1.1 and Franco Kernel, I could noticeably hear an improvement with ringtones and notifications. Any ideas why this no longer works?
Thank you soo much ! It works flawlessly on my Android 9 head unit hal9k v4 mod. For the head units It becomes complicated when other v4a modules requieres volume control keys during installation
@ Mentalmuso found a bug in 2.5.0.5 magisk module. After a reboot ViPER Clarity feature needs to be selected/opened although its enabled

Viper4Android

Can we install Viper4Android in our M51 device? Please share steps if possible, I would thank in advanced.
No it doesn't work but there's a good alternative: JamesDSP. It's a magisk module so its easy to install. I've been using it for months without issues. Sound quality is on par with Viper4Android although the UI is not that streamlined.
Thank you so much for answering. I have no idea when Viper mod will be available but can only wait.
if u have root then viper working
Viper works with Magisk, installing ainur audio first resolves problem.
