Motorola Charging Brick? - Samsung Galaxy S21 Accessories

Hey everyone,
Looking forward to finally getting a flagship after all these years. Was wondering if anyone knew if the charging brick that came with the Motorola Z2 Play would work with the S21. It's hard to read with my old eyes, but it looks like a 15W brick, but not sure if it would be QC2 or QC3. I couldn't find any definitive info on the web.
I would hate to have to buy another brick if I had one that will work.

Update to my question. The Moto charging brick works pretty well. It looks like it can go from 40% to full in about 80-90 minutes.

Portable Battery Charger from Monoprice

Later this month I am moving north. Im flying, and have a couple layovers. I want my Vibrant to last the whole day, but Ill probably have trouble not playing with my Vibrant the many hours Im stuck sitting on my ass. I considered the cheap Energizer charger, but it uses double-A batteries, and last time I flew (dont know how lax the rules have gotten, probably not much) batteries were a no-no.
So I checked the best website on the net (next to XDA) Monoprice, and saw they were selling this: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10833&cs_id=1083311&p_id=7663&seq=1&format=2
They also sell a 2800mAh variant. Only issue is, I see Motorola and Blackberry owners saying it doesnt work for them, and HTC and LG owners saying it works great. Nothing from Samsung owners, however. So, anyone tried this? I believe there are identical, unbranded versions on eBay, so if this looks familiar, tell us how it worked for you.
No, but I will try to say something useful.
I made my own battery pack. It puts out 5v at some where around 300mah and works fine. Higher would be better. It works just fine for me. Point being that the phone seems to not care much about the incoming current, and 5v has to work because it charges off a USB port (which puts out around 500mah)...
So no guarantee, but if something I whipped up on my own works I would assume the phone is pretty accepting...
Plug it in during layovers. I've always found outlets for my computer.
Sweet! Thanks, I'll buy one for sure.
So, has anyone bought one?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
I did two days ago... just waiting for it to arrive.
Buuuuut.... I'm actually going out of town for a week tomorrow, so I won't actually be able to test it until I get back.
Works great! I'm usually down to <20% with an hour to go in my workday. The last hour I plug it in and it gives me another 40-45% in that hour, perfect for the gym and thereafter..
Well I got back yesterday and tested it out. From a completely dead battery, it charged to full in about an hour, and still had a little bit of juice. It should be pretty convenient on my flight.

[Q] AT&T LG G3 Quick Circle Wireless Charging Case Problem

hello everyone. I'm hoping you can help me. I have an LG g3 for AT&T. I bought the quick circle wireless charging case and the Duracell Powermat charger. It worked fine for 2 days but all of a sudden stopped working. I went into the store with all of the accessories and we tried it on two different powermats. It did not work at all. We tried other wireless phones with charging capabilities on both Powermats and it worked fine. They were out of stock on the case, order me a replacement, it came in today and I went to the store to pick it up. I tested it at the store and it still didn't work. Something is wrong with my phone's wireless charging capability. Has anyone else had this issue with wireless charging on the at&tq G 3? Before I return the phone for another one, meaning because its been longer than 14 days I have to actually have a new one mailed it to me and then have a new screen protector put on, a reset up the phone, etc. I want to make sure its not some setting I'm missing or something else I'm not thinking of. Any help you can provide is most appreciated. Thank you very much.

Ok so, a bump as nobody has replied yet, but second here is an update.
After battling with AT&T for a few days about getting an exchange (they wanted me to send it in to their device center, blah blah) they agreed to give me a brand new one in the store. I went in, swapped the device, tested it with the case, low and behold it worked perfectly. No problems at all. I went and got a new Zagg Glass shield put on at Best Buy, went home, all was fine. LG has a built in back up / restore service that saves to the SD card so honestly it wasn't a totally awful experience getting it all reset up.
Anyway, we are now three days later and last night I put it on the charger, it worked fine. I got up this morning, no charging happening. It is at 90% battery. What the hell? I rebooted, cleared cache, removed backplate and battery, unplugged/replugged in the wireless charging plate - nada. It doesn't charge wirelessly anymore. Charging directly works fine.
I think it's time to call LG because this is getting to be a bit ridiculous. I am using a PMA wireless charging plate purchased from AT&T. I am using an LG branded quick circle wireless folio case. I have not rooted, haven't messed with anything, etc. I am using on a protected power surge power strip. I don't know what else it could be, but something is frying the contacts in the phone and negating the wireless charging ability (.
I've also experienced this. On my second phone now. Thankfully, I was still within my 14 days with Best Buy and was able to exchange the first phone hassle free. Best believe, though, that when I exchanged it, I put the Best Buy Geek Squad protection on the phone. I got lucky this time, was 12 days into owning the phone when the wireless charging went out and thought it was the case. All local AT&T stores were sold out of the case, so I ordered a new one online. Then I read a thread online somewhere that detailed the same exact problem and their solution was to exchange the phone. Had I not exchanged the phone then and waited for my new case to arrive and not solve the problem, I would've been SOL.
But yeah, same experience as you. AT&T LG G3, official PMA wireless charging Quick Circle Folio Case, 2 different Duracell Powermats (1 single device mat and 1 two device mat). Wireless charging went out after 12 days of owning the device.
You might get a better response if you posted in the AT&T forum.
same problem, different day.
My story is almost the exact same as the above. First failure was 5-6 days after receiving my wireless charging case from at&t online. After testing out my equipment, I went to the at&t store and tested my charging case with a new g3. The new one charged fine. Had to call customer svc, after some argument got a refurb. Wireless charging lasted one day.
I'm really worried that this is a pervasive problem. However, very few people have the charging case yet. If anyone has had the charging last more than 2 weeks, can they post it here?
Moderators, can you move this thread to the at&t section for ease of searching? It seems to only occur with the AT&T LG g3 with PMA charging
Maybe Att just likes to screw people over. PMA charging isn't something I want especially when qi is more reliable. Could it be the hardware in the phone failing because Att had to be special?
That's my assumption too. Last minute PMA kludge.
Same thing has happened to mine...
Same here ditto on the whole situation. I am in the process of fighting with AT&T exchange phone.

AT&T uses a different signal type for it's wireless charging. If you don't have the right type of power mat it won't work properly and might work only every now and then. As for your device being the problem, that is unlikely as the case itself is what allows you to charge wireless by adding the charging sensor
i know it might sound silly but...
I know it may be a silly question but are you guys using the charger that came with the phone? Its just that if you aren't it may be because the charger hasn't got enough ampage. I have the lg wireless charger and i tried using an older usb charger and noticed that it would charge a bit then stop. I tried it on the original lg charger and it worked a treat.
I decided to purchase a second lg charger just to use with the wireless charger and all is good.
Same problem x2
I experienced the same problem. While troubleshooting I found the case and charger worked fine on my wife's phone. Tried switching batteries with no change. AT&T replaced my Phone and it worked again for a week. Now wireless doesn't charge and even the USB and cable that had been working in the past don't work.
Very frustrating

CHOETECH Qi fast Wireless charging stand review

First things first, here is the Amazon link (currently $20, which is half off) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073TS2GYP
So if you've never heard of CHOETECH, they are a company that makes inexpensive phone accessories (or at least they were, they've branched out a bit lately). I wanted to bring up their latest Wireless charger, it takes their original model and added fan ventilation to it to prevent overheating. At first glance, this doesn't look like it could possibly work. There is no fan noise to speak of plus I can't really feel air flowing through it. But After leaving my phone running Pokemon Go for hours and then picking it up the excessive heat on my Galaxy S8+ was absent. I use this as a benchmark because with CHOETECH's older model my phone would overheat and ask to be removed from the charger after running the game for so long (hey, don't judge!). Don't get me wrong this thing doesn't work miracles, my phone was still warm but it was way, way cooler than it had been on any other wireless charger, much less a fast one. So if you're in the market for one you can't go wrong with this.
Sorry for the lack of pictures, I recently moved and I'm missing my backup phone but if they are really wanted I guess I can figure something out. Let me know if there are any questions.

Charging Circuit Blown?

Hi all,
My wife's 5x appears to be very dead. I haven't found any similar issues on this phone or any other so I thought I would share and also see if anyone has advice.
So her battery was low and so my 4 year old says "Let me help you with that Mom, I will go plug it in." A few moments later he says "Hey mom, it isn't working" as he shoves the end of the baby monitor wall wart in and out of the headphone jack. The wife plugs the phone into the correct charger but it doesn't seem to work. She used her phone for a little while longer before the battery died.
Best I can tell putting the 7.5 volts across the headphone jack blew up a circuit in the phone that also charges the battery. I messed with it awhile and the charging screen did come on one time briefly but I haven't seen it since. The USB port had been perfectly fine before.
I took the phone apart to take a look but it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. It looks like a new motherboard would be needed to fix it and would probably cost more than the phone is worth.
So in summary the only thing that should be plugged into the headphone jack are headphones.
Any advice? Know a magic fix? We are both perfectly happy with our 5x's and had no plans to upgrade. She needs a Fi compatible phone so options are limited. The Moto x4 doesn't seem like much of an upgrade, new pixels are way too much phone and too much money, the old pixels are more than I want to spend for a used phone. I am thinking I will just pick up a used 5x from swappa as they are going cheap and I won't be out much, just worried about getting the BLOD, we have avoided that so far but it scares me more when getting a phone of unknown history. Would I be crazy to buy a used 5x knowing about the potential of the BLOD?
Thanks

Not necessarily, LG has been fixing out-of-warranty 5X phones with the bootloop problem. I don't know if they'd extend that courtesy to the 2nd owner of a phone but you can probably find out more by searching the 5X forums for recent posts with "LG repair warranty" in the text.
Thanks,
It looks to be a little bit of a crap shoot if a secondhand warranty will be honored but I think might just do it anyway. At least it is a pretty small investment if it would fail and not be covered under warranty.
I think I will give it a shot on the current phone for the extended warranty also but expect to be quickly shoot down. It was bought through project Fi two years ago but what I've read seems to indicate only the BLOD is being covered by the extended warranty.
I wish there were more options for project fi phones on the budget end. Should I be considering the X4 or second hand 1st Gen pixel?

Any battery replacement success stories?

Has anybody personally found a good replacement internal battery that has full, or close to full charge capacity? Before anybody says it, I have replaced phone batteries before and have no issues with the risk and disassembly aspect of replacing the battery. I want to install a new one because my current battery dies so quickly anymore, but everywhere I look I only find ones with terrible user reviews. Can anybody point me in the direction of a better quality option?

No I ended up using the slightly-less-than-terrible verizon trade in offer on an s10. I got the plus because of the 4ah battery specifically although im already remember how much samsung's UI's blow compared to regular android... But if I had gotten one I would probably just get one directly from ifixit after reading some of the user feedback. Seems like they are mostly better received than amazon and ebay options.
I purchased a battery from the below eBay seller.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/113153374724
It's a genuine battery from what I can tell and came in a clear plastic case. It's dated 2019/01/16, so very recent. I'll be installing it tomorrow.

I just installed this same battery yesterday. Been using it all day today. Seems to work just fine so far. But only time will tell.
I just installed mine today. As you pointed out, no real way to know how good until it's had a few cycles under it's belt. Was the HTC logo marked out on your battery?

Logos are marked out to do with customs, in many of countries they do not allow the importation of counterfeit products under copyright law, marking out the company logo bypasses this. Obviously if the actual OEM is selling their own batteries then this does not need to be done.
Any updates on battery life? I am looking to buy from the same seller for my Pixel XL.

Sorry for the late reply.
It was defective, it lasted a week before it would no longer hold a charge. It looked genuine, but I didn't want to deal with a replacement, so I ended up getting a refund, and going with ifixit for a replacement battery instead. I'm guessing I just received a lemon, the seller was solid with the refund.
https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Android/Google-Pixel-XL-Replacement-Battery/IF356-005
Expensive at $25, but it's been solid ever since. Holds a charge very well. I purchased the kit, since I can see myself reusing the tools in the future.
It matches the original bloated battery I took out the first time. It seems to be genuine OEM, the HTC logo on the battery is covered up by a black marker which you can remove with alcohol. You can even make it out a bit in their photos.

Thank you for the update!
I guess I will get this one probably, instead of buying the new Pixel 4 XL.. just to see how long it lasts... it still works damn good, and exactly why I chose Google phone over other cheaper contract phones!!
What do you think? any practical reason to get the 4 over a battery upgrade for this one?

Since Google decided to extend support for the OG Pixel/XL with Android 10, they left me little reason to upgrade to 4. They would have to come in at $700 (not going to happen) or less for me to upgrade, or else I'm staying put until next year's 5. There is also the "possible" Pixel 4a/XL to look forward to in 6 months.
I had to buy mine used to replace my OnePlus 5 that had a saltwater accident after 2 years of use. The used eBay pixel XL I bought seemed like it hadn't been used in well over a year based on the software update status. It was also on the beta program so it was probably an enthusiast who bought new and used it a few months and switched to something else throwing it in a drawer. Battery still seems as good as they were new, after months of me using it. Still not as good as the OnePlus 5 and doesn't charge fast but it's still a good phone. Camera is close to as good as anything out there. UI had more lag than the op5 but seems smoother in scrolling and general usage.
Hi,on my pixel XL my USB preferences stopped working and is stuck on charge. After trying different chargers and cables, my phone will only charge using a USB-A to USB-C. When I plug phone into PC, it will only charge, can't change it from charge. I was wondering if someone has had a similar problem. If so, did changing the battery fix this problem or has anyone changed the USB daughter board and that fixed the problem. If anyone knows of a fix for my problem. Thank you.

Yes, I have tried on a different computer, did work there either. What it feels like, my USB preferences are not on my pixel XL anymore. Like they got wiped off my phone. Thanks
