How to change default app store? - Vivo X50 Pro+ Questions & Answers

When I click on an icon on my home screen for an app that has not yet been installed, the phone shows the following message "This app is not installed. The app for this icon isn't installed. You can remove it, or search for the app and install it manually" and there are 2 options below: REMOVE and SEARCH.
If I click "SEARCH", the system takes me to the Vivo "V-Appstore" to search for the app. How can I change the default app store so "SEARCH" takes me to Google Play Store?
For anyone that asks "how did you get an icon on your home screen for an app that is not installed" the answer is "this is not the issue of this thread"

The best option is to adb command and remove the vivo appstore... I did that on my Chinese nex 3 and it got rid of trying to find the app in the vivo appstore.

[Q] Newest WhatsApp Version (apk) installed but the icon is missing

The WhatsApp version in the Amazon App Store is much too old. So I've installed the newest WhatsApp .apk by myself by using the APK Downloader.
But now the app icon isn't between all the others apps. It's not there.
Double tap on the home buttons shows me that WhatsApp is running. Also it's in the carousel. But not in the list of all the other apps.
I had this once as I've did it in the same way with the Facebook app. But after a second installation of the .apk the icon showed up. But not this time
Can anybody help me please?
Same here..it appears on other launchers but theres no number near the icon for unread messages..also on the amazon app store whatsapp it told to update within 30 days..huh

If you delete the app from your Amazon cloud apps and re-install WhatsApp from Google Play, the app's icon should also be installed.
Thanks..it worked but the number if messages that appear near the icon arent there still

Missing Google play music app

It's not in the app drawer or application manager. When I look it up on the play store it gives me an enable button that does nothing no matter how many times you tap it. Can anybody help me?
Go into your application manager to see if it's in the list. You may have to choose options in the top right menu there to enable different views if there are disabled apps. Are running an app disabler like Package Disabler?
Just go to Google Play and see if it says installed. If not install it.

Where is MI Mail App?

I have updated my Redmi note 5 pro to latest MIUI9 buy default MI Mail app is missing. How do I install it?
Just got it on MIUI forum, link is http://en.miui.com/thread-984561-1-1.html
Hello,
Your app is probably just disabled.
To re-enable it :
1) Go the the settings
2) Scroll to "installed apps" in the APP SETTINGS section and click on it
3) In the apps list, scroll down to the Mail app you should see a red icone next to the app name that tell you it is disabled.
4) Click on the app and down the screen you should see three buttons, the middle one is the "enable" button.
5) Click on it and your app should be visible now on your phone.
Let me know if it helps
Regards
Wrong, the mail app. is not present

Verizon Samsung Cloud Storage

Well once again, big greedy verizon has tried to take away features that our phones should include with the OS; One such feature is the Samsung Cloud Storage.
There are some recommendations on the forums and google on how to enable this app. You need to download an app called "Quick Shortcut Maker".
Once there open the app. In the search box type in "Samsung Cloud" and click on the drop down arrow.
The option you want SHOULD be the first option. It should be labeled com.samsung.android.scloud.app.ui.splash.SplashActivity This will display under the heading. Go ahead on click on it.
Next click on "try". It should open the app.
Once inside the app, click in the blue box to add the app to your app list. You can then delete the shortcut you created!
NOW, the first few times I tried this, it just failed. Either it would go to a black screen then immediately back to the quick shortcut screen, or it would crash with and error.
I was however able to use Nova Launcher shortcut in order to point to the same application and that got the program to work. Now when I try to use the Quick Shortcut Maker app, it works as intended.
I am not sure if anyone else is interested in using this feature, but it took me a moment to figure out how to get it to work, so I wanted to share with everyone else.
Feel free to add any other instructions or ways to accomplish the same task! I would be interested to see how to get the shortcut making app to work, as I know not everyone enjoys or uses Nova Launcher.

Open two instances of whale browser. Or any app

Is there a way to open two instances of the same application? For instance if I wanted to compare two different items, see pictures attached, is there a way to open up a whale browser on the main screen and one on the second screen?
It would be super slick if I could pull one of the tabs over to the second screen. Possibly using a three-finger gesture like the V60.
the three finger gesture is coming, LG just released that update in korea

That's great news.. Until then I found a crowbar way of doing it. It's not elegant but it works.
Ignore text see 2 posts below for solution.
1. Download and install "clone app" from the Play Store.
2. Backup the APK file for the application you want to use on both screens. ( I used assistant for Android)
3.open clone app and "add app" .
4. Add shortcut to clone app on your second screen.
5. Open primary app on the main screen. Open clone app on the second screen. Select Your cloned app. Now you're running two instances of the same app.
It's a bit messy and the Clone app is full of ads. I wanted to get something like this (see link below ) working. But I did not have a test user. I have one more idea to try tonight after work.

How do you add the shortcut to the small screen? When I create a shortcut on the app, it goes to the main screen. I don't see a way to get it to the secondary screen.
I'm using Nova Launcher. It may not be available on stock launcher. Nova Launcher also allows normal use of the main screen when you have the phone winged open
All right. Here's the elegant solution.
1.You have to download WhatsApp first and install it as a dual app on settings.
2.Then fire up ADB Type:
adb shell pm list users
3. Check your 'test user' number is
4. adb install --user 'test number' test.apk
Test.apk is the name of the APK file you wish to install in the ADB folder.
5. Wait a few minutes for success message.

Even with stock launcher. You should be able to Long hold on an app in the app drawer. And drag it on to the small screen's home screen.
Has anybody figured out how to log into the same account with a cloned app? For instance. I have whale browser and a cloned whale browser. It will not let me log into the same account on both of those. I had to create a secondary account and duplicate favorites and bookmarks. It would be nice if I could log them both onto One account.
