[REVIEW] Phantomskinz Ultra Clear Full Body - Samsung Galaxy S21 Accessories

I highly recommend trying this Phantomskinz Full body shield. I was using a cheap DeltaShield screen protector from Amazon on my s21 and it was not holding up! It was so bad I paid to upgrade my shipping speed with Phantomskinz. I have tried almost all screen protectors in the past from Zagg, Skinomi, Dbrand, etc but I find myself always going back to Phantomskinz. This full body ultra clear gives the phone an amazing grip and it also gives it this glass like smooth feeling. The fingerprint scanner works amazing with this! This is a wet install process so you need to take your time and wait over night for the bubbles to go away. I love this screen protector because I can keep the natural beauty of the phone without using a case. I showed my wife the phone and she could not even tell I had the full body skin installed. To all those who bought this Phantomskinz, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. I attached are some pics… Came out Awesome! Highly recommend!

I'm guessing the seams on the edges fell sharp, which would drive me nuts. I always get sharp edges with skins. Thoughts? How's it holding up over time?

I've never used one before but I'm assuming this has no protection against drops, only scratches.

Obviously

Best Screen Protectors for MT4G

So what do people recommend as the best screen protectors to choose from for the MT4G?
I know everyone has their own opinions on them, but I'm hoping people can post their pros/cons and we can help us all narrow down the choice to a few.
Thanks!
the phantom skinz screen protector! pros: clear, nice feel, covers the whole front. cons: none if installed correctly.
I like the Reallook one. Clear, durable and feels like the glass.
I had the realook and phantom skinz. I settled on phantom skinz. I have the full body matte, plus clear phantom skinz. (Don't install the matte screen protector from PS).
Realook is very good with clear BUT the only thing that sucks is that you get ALOT of oils/fingerprints, etc on it. Easy install and easy clean with soap/water.
Phantom skinz gets oil on the screen too, but not as much. Screen surface is alittle "gummy". (Orange peel is very little to non existant). Watch out as the adhesive backing will attract lint (during installation) and you WILL not be able to get that off. PS also has lifetime warranty = unlimited screen protector replacements. (got the whole kit for $12 during 50% off cyber monday).
Don't bother getting invisible shield, they suck and give you orange peel, and it's thick.
@Jaylito,
Did you notice any kind of cloudiness after you cleaned your screen with alchol/towel? (assuming you've cleaned your screen with alcohol/water) For some reason, mine clouded up on the top.
yeah I have. I guess it's normal tho. goes away if u keep rubbing the screen back & fourth with ur thumb. guess since the material... if it gets wet, it'll cloud a bit cause the moisture seeps thru the inside but it'll dry out bro.
guess I have to do more rubbing then cause it's still cloudy...
oh well....
I tried PhantomSkinz and that was a pain to put on (w/ water and soap), Realook was easy and it didn't peel at the edges.
Zagg Invisishield. Lifetime Warranty.
realook, hands down.
pros: crystal clear, feels like the glass itself, easy to clean, easy to apply, easy to reapply.
cons: a little expensive ($10 for 2, but its totally worth it)

Weird... for me, PS was MUCH EASIER than realook.
PS allows movement up/down/left/right with ease, and then you just squeeze out water.
For realook, it sucked to align the edges cause you can't move the film once you've "stickered" it on. Then you have to peel it back off and realign, causing lint (in my case) to adhere, and then I have to clean it again.
For me the realook was the best by far. I tried a couple of the wet app kind like invisishield and clear freak on the 4 mt4gs that I had and the realook was the best. I agree its a pain to put on, especially if you have animals because of dust and hair, but if you apply it in the bathroom after letting it steam up from the shower, I've found I can get it on without too much dust or hair falling on the screen. Also, get some extra scotch tape and place it on the front of the realook screen to keep your fingers off the adhesive side while applying it. Another nice thing is that each protector comes with two dots to apply to the camera lens in the back.
The only bad thing is that I think the realook attracts fingerprint grease worse than the wet app kind.
I have a zagg on my nexus s mostly because its all that's out right now and will put a realook on as soon as they are available.

The Boxwave screen protectores look pretty good too, though I've never tried one myself.
Ghost Armor. Just added it today on my 4G n its cut to fit perfectly, including the sensors n camera. FEELS like the real glass n doesn't take away from the display like the ones Tmo sales. Avoid those *****es like the plague.
I used Zagg for my Nexus S.
I get generic ones from a guy named lcd-protectors on ebay, 5 for $3.50. They're the stiff kind with two protective layers that you peel off, one before you apply and one after. I'm too cheap to pay more.
i just ordered a full body cover kit from stealthguards.com
choosing the clear type and none of the colored ones, it was $2.85 (full body protection, just pay shipping)
$2.85 sure beats dishing out $25 for zagg which is the same crap.
What do you need a screen protector for? I haven't used a screen protector since I bought the G1 at launch, and I've never had a screen scratch. Keys in my pockets, etc. Never been a problem. These screens are incredibly scratch resistant.
I love these screen protectors that I bought on Amazon. Perfect on the first try with no bubbles! Check it out here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004E49TEG/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1294786757&sr=8-1:
BoxWare screen protector is well IDK how to rate it as it is just regular. What I did not like about it was it does "NOT" fully cover the screen as you have little gap very small which bugs me as I am neat. The feeling right now is artificial as I can tell it is there maybe cuz its still new as I applied it just 2hours ago. So lets wait and see how it turns out in long run.
I grabbed a Reallook screen protector off of amazon:
Pros: The feel and clarity are great
Cons: The cut. It has a cutout for the FFC and leaves a fair bit of space on all sides (as a result it's easy to get on) but it's really short on all sides in my opinion.

Tell that to the scratch in my screen that I got the first day of having the phone... yeah, needless to say, I have a screen protector now and its helped a lot.

Recommend a screen protector!

I need a screen protector for my Galaxy SII i9100 because I do not want to damage the screen. It should be a pack of 2-3 because I almost always mess up the first time.
It doesn't matter if it is glossy or matte, both are fine, but I am in the sun a lot so I should be able to still see the screen. Preferably something which gets rid of finger oils easily.
I live in USA, so Amazon or Ebay would be excellent.
I am using the Steinheil Ultra Series Screen Protector Films for my AT&T phone, the Ultra Crystal. It comes in a pack of 2. It was very easy to install, no bubble.
It keeps my screen scratch free and I still have the super nice clarity of the original Samsung AMOLED Plus screen.
They even have video to show you on how to do it on youtube or their website (sgpstore.com). There is no fingerprints issues with this Crystal version, you can just use their supplied Micro-fiber fabric and they go away.
You can buy them on Amazon for $13.99. The Ultra Optics which costs $2 more would be my other preference but it did not exist for my AT&T model.
Or you can try the Ultra Oleophobic which is oil resistant and is $13.99.
I use basic screen protector from ebay and work fine...
Phantomskinz - doesnt have the tacky/sticky feel (whilst offering same protection) of e.g zagg invisibleshield.
Google for discount code.

This is the best all around screen protector for the SGSII no doubt.
http://www.mobimega.com/sgp-steinheil-ultra-oleophobic-screen-protector-for-samsung-galaxy-s2.html
I would go with a 3M Estoc+ if budget allows.
Try the SGP Glas, although not fingerprint resistant, its a great screen protector which is made of real glass and is shatter-proof in case you drop it or hit it against something. The video on the website, the guy had to use a hammer and hit it twice to destroy it, but its not like you're gonna hit your phone with a hammer any day ^_^
http://www.sgpstore.com/cell-phone/...g-galaxy-s2-screen-protector-glas-series.html
ah, one more thing, when using this screen protector, you have to install the Ninphetamine kernel, due to the charging bug, where the screen is undervolted, the touches on the screen are not detected unless you install the kernel, which tweaks the voltage going through the screen, and the physical touches are being recognized. Other than this, it's a great screen protector + no worries of bubbling!

It's not so much the glass being broken, more the glass being scratched. Which, despite being Gorilla Glass, is still quite easy to do (I have a tiny scratch on mine despite looking after it and never having it in my pocket with anything else for example).

This is exactly the reason as to why I wussed out on gorilla glass and installed a screen protector
I just got the SGP Ultra-Fine and I'm very satisfied with it.
Very easy to install, no fingerprint, no glare.
Get the cheapest top rated ones you can find on amazon. I was tempted to buy an expensive one, glad I didn't. I got 6 cheap ones for £3. First one went on perfectly, it's not even scratched up, but when it does, there are 5 more to easily replace it with. Not necessary to spend tons on these, you end up paying for the brand.
I'm happy with my SGP Ultra Optics protector. Since you're in the States shipping will be negligible as well. It's a dry install, I've even removed it, and put it back on to get the alignment perfect without issue.
I've tried two "wet install" protectors: Zagg (Invisible Shield) and Ishieldz, both were not even remotely worth the cost and it results in phone downtime to ensure that everything is dried out after the install. Of the two Ishieldz was the better.
Im surprised nobody mentioned InvisibleShield or iShieldz. I personally believe they provide superior protection (especially the InvisibleShield, check out the videos section of their website).
Both come with LIFETIME warranty.
EDIT: Oops, didnt read the post above me. But I've NEVER had any issue with applying InvisibleShield or iShieldz. I had an invisible shield on my X10 and was able to take keys the the screen without any damage at all and installation was a breeze. I currently have an iShieldz on my SGSII.
I prefer wet installs to dry as it is much easier to make sure everything is lined up straight before finalizing the process.

Invisibleshield has a tacky sticky feel to it, which is why i use PhantomSkinz which doesnt.

I use SGP ultra optic. it's the best!
I have been using SGP GLAS for a week and love it. Since it's real glass, it feels like there is nothing there. In fact, it has a smoother feel than the touchscreen glass.
Installation instructions must be followed explicitly, but once installed, it's great.
It's pricy at 32USD$, but worth the investment in my view.
is there actually a difference between those cheap no-name ones you can buy for $1, and branded ishield/skinomi/whatever?

Just to add to this; when I ordered my SGP case it came with an Ultra Crystal protector, I also ordered the Ultra Optics protectors. Was time for a screen protector change so I installed the Ultra Crystal since it was all I had left. Not pleased at all, magnified finger prints, but more importantly touch sensitivity was awful. Of the two Ultra Optics is much, much better, it just doesn't look as crystal clear and shiny as the Ultra Crystal one.
Put on a Belkin protector today, sensitivity is back. It has a similar optical quality and finish to the Ultra Crystal, hopefully it doesn't show finger prints as easily. It's not as custom cut as the SGP protectors however; the hole for the home button is open at the bottom rather than surrounding the button.
EDIT:
Belkin = fingerprint hell. Touch sensitivity was markedly better, but finger print residue was WORSE than the Ultra Crystal; so bad that it was hard to view the screen. I just tore the bloody thing off.
Sgp oleophpbic. I use the ultra crystal and after. 3 months I have to search for marks and even then barely find them. However oil from my fingers is the biggest hassle. I would trade a few scratches for less oil. Sgp ultra capsule is the one to get case wise. Full protection, screenguard included, slim, and no, just no, cheap Amazon screen guards are not the same. At all. Not a bit. Used them and they are a waste of money.

Screen protector, or not?

Lets see I've been through a plethora of devices in the last year and one common thing is all the devices always had a screen protector and heavy duty case.
I am really considering not putting screen protection on this device. My wife was using a unprotected Vibrant for a while and she is pretty rough on phones. Not a scratch on the screen. Samsung screens tend to be pretty resilient.
What do you guys think? Are you using a screen protector currently?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I would use a screen protector if I were you. They are cheap and don't really affect anything visually. Considering this phone is like 600$.. and repairs would be expensive.. It makes a good investment. You don't want any cracks or something deadly like that. And besides, helps with oily hands and finger prints
i always use screen protector, i hate seeing scratches on the beautiful screen
screen protectors are easy and cheap to replace, screens are not
never used one since i had my vibrant no scratches !
Using armour shield, love it and no sensitivity issues at all.

I use them no matter the device. The real look brand are really high quality and only $11 on Amazon. And they fit the entire screen.

Deebo took your bike too?
problem is that my D30 cases lift the protector, and if I cut it, it just looks bad.
Which one should I use? I was using Zagg, but I just don't like it to much. I also have the d30 case, but the power button cased me to drop my phone lol
If you are using the D3O case, I'd suggest using the Zagg, otherwise go with Realook. If you want it to be sleek with no case on it, put an armor skin on it, Ghost-Armor or Zagg for full body protection, then use the Realook to top it off.
So far I've tried Skinomi and Realook. Skinomi is a floppy piece of film applied wet, attracts less fingerprints and is easier to clean, feels better than realook, but has a nasty orange peel finish. The Realook is a more rigid film that is applied dry and is crystal clear, but attracts more finger prints and is more difficult to clean than the bare screen, and feels a bit rough when swiping. The realook is cut too large in my opinion, which makes it damn near impossible to apply it perfectly on the first shot and soon as you lift it up, dust gets stuck to the bottom. They offer a version that is cut a little smaller, but you have to contact them.
So far, I am not happy with either. I am looking for a good compromise between finger print resistance and clarity. SGP ultra optics sounds appealing but so far they only offer ultra clear and ultra fine (matte) films for our phone. While I found it, the company does not post a phone number for customer support and apparently email response is hit or miss. I will sit and wait for a few weeks. See if anything better pops up.
How is the finish and finger print resistance on the Ghost Armor film?

[REVIEW] Phantomskinz Ultra Clear Full Body

I can not believe how great this turned out for me! Pictures attached...I have always been a fan of the clear skin screen protectors and I have tried them all! (Skinomi, Zagg, etc) The one company I always come back to is the Phantomskinz brand. They seem to just have the smoothest, glass like feel of them all. The presentation of the protector is awesome and installation was just like any other clear skin, but I thought I botched the install a little bit. Just like most clear skin protectors, the next morning came around and the flaws were gone.
I am could not be happier with this screen protector and my wife could not even tell I had a full body screen protector on it! Highly recommend!
Can I still toss a case on it if I wanted to? That looks great might look into that once my phone shows up. Does the finger print reader still work well?
Thanks so much! I do love how this turned out! This phone is so cool! I believe you could toss a case on this but i would not be taking the case on and off multiple times. If you want to use a case, phantomskinz offers a case friendly version. I went with the non case friendly full body.
The fingerprint scanner works perfectly. Just like a screen protector is not even there

So I'm guessing if you drop this, it'll still shatter right?
I'm not really sure and I hope that I don't find out if it will shatter. I have only shattered phones when I didn't have a screen protector on it. I think this skin will protect it well though.
Had this installed 1 week and is still flawless. It even survived a decent fall. Still so happy with this!
What is the back made of? Plastic?
The phantomskinz film on the back is made of the same type film on the front. Gives it a really nice feel and it give the phone a much nicer grip
It's a nicer grip even though it feels like glass? I just got my phone and it seems so dang slippery, wish I could get a Spigen Incredible Shield like my last phone.
Can you take some pictures of the sides? I checked out the website and shows the back protector covers the sides as well and even the top of the pop up camera.
it covers camera ?
The camera works perfectly with this front and back screen protector. I am sure every screen protector works perfectly with the camera because if it didn't that would be one horrible design flaw, lol
I must be abi-normal, lol, I like the provided screen protector and case!
Liking the original screen protector is similar to liking the speakers that came with a TV rather than a sound bar
I just ordered this wrap for my 7 pro. I have the blue one, and it's just too pretty to put a case on. Does it make it less slippery?
Definitely improves the grip a ton! Love the feel of it.

Thank you for the review, I've been looking at this product for sometime but didn't pull the trigger . I always used dbrand , is it hard to install it ? How long it took to deliver? Also really curious about how matte looks...
Dbrand is good and I have used them but I don't believe they make one that covers the edges like this one. Install is the same as dbrand if you get the skin and pretty easy. If you get the ultra clear it is like any other screen protector install. Can be a little tough but in a day always comes out so nice for me.
Mine is the ultra clear full body and it has help up perfectly. Even gives it a nice grip and a great feel. Took about 3 to 4 days after I ordered to get to me in the USA.

[REVIEW] Phantomskinz Ultra Clear Full Body

I have used and tried all screen protectors in the past from Zagg, Skinomi, Dbrand etc but I find myself always going back to Phantomskinz. In my opinion, Phantomskinz has the best overall feel of any one of them. This full body ultra clear gives the phone an amazing grip and it also gives it this glass like smooth feeling. I paid to upgrade my shipping speed since they just released it on Friday and I am glad I did! This is a wet install process so you need to take your time and wait over night for the bubbles to go away. I love this screen protector because I can keep the natural beauty of the phone with the amazing protection this skin offers. I showed my wife and she could not even tell the full body screen protector was on the phone, lol.
I tested my phantomskinz with the fingerprint lock screen and the SPen and everything worked flawlessly. To all those who bought this Phantomskinz, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. I attached are some pics… Came out Awesome! Highly recommend!

Nice!
Hard to tell from the pictures, does the front facing camera have the film cut out, or does it cover it?
About to buy this but I can decide over edge to edge or case friendly version for the screen. I want edge to edge but I'm afraid my spigen case will screw it up. Anyone use the edge to edge with a case?
I have the edge to edge and love it. I don't know if it fits with the Spigen case but edge to edge looks beautiful with the Samsung silicone case.
The front camera does not have a cut out and I was concerned about that as well until I put it on. Works awesome with the front camera and no cut out! Pretty cool
How is the S Pen feel for notes?
Like you are writing on glass
Ok I ended up with the case friendly version and I think this will go better with both my hybrid tpu/hard plastic case. I love that it had another layer on top that you will have to remove after applying it. This allowed me to use my credit card to squeeze out the water without scratching the actual protector under it. It also made it easier to install as the clear top layer kept it firm so I was able to move it better into position without it bending or stretching. I still have some water bubbles so just waiting for those to go away so I can give a final thought on it. But so far, the cut is perfect for the back and both front and back are slippery smooth. Not like the actual glass but pretty damn close.
In comparison, I bought the slick wraps naked a week ago and install was a PITA. It had no backing support and was just the film itself when applying it on the phone. So squeezing out the excess water was tough. Also the film stretches like a MF and it wasn't cut right, particularly on the camera cut out. Wasn't sure if the edge wasnt cut right either but both the sides went over the glass into the alum frame so it would not stick. I had 2 skins and both had same issue.
I definitely recommend phantomskinz over slickwrap when it comes to install and cut size.
Awesome! I have a hard time explaining that it almost feels like glass. One of those things you have to see/try to believe. I love it! I had some water as well but once I went to bed and woke up it was absolutely perfect!
