AVAILABLE Lineage OS 17.1 (Android 10) Tab S (Docomo wifi cellular version)-can anyone take this up for T705? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I found this developer who created Lineage 17.1 for the Docomo version of the cellular Tab S 8.4 - wondering if someone can take this on/promote to a developer to do a similar one for the SM-T705?

Hello,
I too am looking for similar information..... I have the SM-T700 (klimtwifi)....yours is the SM-T705 ( klimtlte ) which is LTE is it not?
I am trying to find out what model is referred to as a Tab S 8.4 klimtdm .
There is some support for our models....but I believe the reason why we have not seen anything above 14.1 is because our tablets have the exynos processor and not the Snapdragon. But I may be wrong as well....lol Support for our models can be found at https://www.exynos5420.com

Yes the SM-T705 is the LTE version but I have the SM-T705M (Latin American version that gets U.S LTE bands with voice calling)-believe this is also the klimtlte as no issues using T705 ROMs or recoveries (baseband is always the 705M). You are right-the SM-T700, 705, 705M have the Exynos processor but the Docomo Tab S 8.4 has the Snapdragon 800 processor with 32GB main storage (LTE bands appear to be 1, 3, 19. 21 which are not of use for me at least in the U.S). The Docomo version has 32GB storage! - not sure about voice calling (RAM in all are 3GB).
EDIT amazing thing is that the Docomo version never got beyond 5.0.2 on official Samsung firmware, yet the developer managed to make Lineage ROMs all the way to 17.1! Appears itis the SM-T707D now to answer your question klimtdm might just be this device (seems to signify Docomo)
EDIT2 One seller who sells this device online from Japan says that it can be updated to Android 6 (strange how the Sammobile only shows 5.0.2)

I only see 2 available on Ebay ...and they are asking a fortune . Also need a converter as it sounds these were all sold in the Asian area.
I bought a Tab A 8.4 (2020) and the screen is nothing compared to the SM-T700.
Well, we can all stall hope that someone picks this Tab to continue developing firmware above the 7.1.2.

[Q] Installing wifi android version on LTE tablet

Hi guys,
currently i own a Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) - SM-P605, so is the variant with the LTE connectivity.
While i like to have mobile connectivity on my devices, i don't necessarily use it all the time, so i'm thinking if it is possible to install 4.4.2 android version for SM-P600 on this LTE variant, and reinstall the LTE variant later, when available..? Of course i assume only wifi connectivity until than...
If i remember well, i think i did once this on the first variant of galaxy note 10.1, by mistake, obviously, but it worked...
I'm looking for an advised opinion, please let me know what you think!
thanks a lot in advance,
f

I would be really surprised if you flashed the P600 firmware on the P605 and it worked. The P600 has an Exynos CPU, the P605 has a Qualcomm CPU and if you flash the wrong firmware you will most likely brick your device.
Advice: Under no circumstances try to flash a P600 firmware on a P605 or vice versa!

Ohhh, in this case, of course...
I was convinced that there is a wifi version of the tablet with Qualcomm too...
thanks a lot!

n5120 ROMs on i467

Has anybody tried any of the n5120 ROMs on the i467. I've already flashed all my i467's with the 4.4.2 ROM but getting Android 5+ would be nice.

I finally got my Note 8 sgh-i467m (TELUS) "working" with LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2). I used the n5120 rom from @rgib and all appeared to be working but then realised data (LTE or HSPA) does not. It looks like the n5120 (AT&T) supports different LTE bands than the sgh-i467m (TELUS).
@rgib -> How hard would it be to create a new rom that supported the TELUS LTE bands: 4/17/2/5 ?
Thanks!!

I am looking to do this same thing, run CM13 for 51xx devices on my i467 (do not need LTE or HSPA - using as a straight tablet.)
I cannot even find if the i467 ever had an unlocked bootloader. So to that end I think I'll have to jump over to the 51xx series for ROM options.
Still trying to find out if this will cause any issues or even be possible.
I've been using it for a few days and it's not great. Keeps crashing and Bluetooth doesn't work... keeps disconnecting as soon as I try to play music. (I want to use it to play music in my car over Bluetooth).
I'll look in to options...

Install TWRP from here:

Then flash SuperSU.

Hmmmmm this is forum cover the samsung galaxy note 4 and its various varients. Never heard of the 9100 (all varients have been 910 not 9100)but if your gonna root it and it is a note 4 go back to 5.1.1 and attempt root and unlock procedure. The version of the unlock file is dependent upon varient and I've never heard of yours. The possibility that its one of the exynos board note 4s pops to mind and I would caution you if that is the case do not attempt to unlock via this exploit or its bye bye phone.

I've finally managed to build it from a pure omni device tree borrowed heavily from _mone's trlte twrp device tree. Chinese variant users: please test it as thoroughly as you can, including backing up and restoring with and without encryption. If it works, _mone will push it for official support.
I have an N9100 -- it's the dual sim Chinese/Hong Kong variant. The China Telecom version has no GAPPS. The Hong Kong edition ships in English and does have GAPPS baked in.
Neither has a locked bootloader or any other tricky security stuff..

Safe to update to latest patch? Without breaking root / twrp?

Awful quiet around here guess everyone bought the tab s6!
I noticed an update available this August 2019. Has anyone flashed their tab s4 with Odin? And then rooted once again? I'm using a t835n and plan to get the t835 international version. But I want to be sure I can root after.
Another question - on sammobile they have so many different country options for the t835 international model. What is the actual difference? I use my device in USA so what would be the best version to flash so that I have the most bands for my carrier (TMobile). Or does flashing firmware not have the effect I am thinking on bands?
Thanks!

That's a very good question.
Are you on Oreo or Pie?
My guess, based on the rooting guides I've been reading is the one for the country that you bought the device from. I think you are on the Korean version, so I would think that would be the ideal update to use on the device and then just use it in English.
As for the S6, I'm inclined to buy another (3rd) S4 because the lack of the headphone jack is intolerable for me.
I will ask in the Note 9 forum, but do you happen to know the international version of the Note 9 that is the equivalent of the Korean 6GB Tab S4? They dropped the headphone jack on that one too. I use it to get radio on my phone.
So I rooted the Korean 6GB versions that was factory shipped with the most recent and up to date Oreo firmware and it rooted just fine. I'm missing a few apps but I'm not sure why that is (weird like missing email, internet, calculator, some google crap...). I'm trying to figure out why, but I NEVER let it connect to the internet for any reason yet. I sideloaded some of the apps and it seems fine. I'm going to check with my other Tab S4 6GB that is on the original stock firmware from the beginning to see if those apps were ever there in the first place tonight and post in the TWRP thread.
Root is fine. So I think you will be fine with the most recent firmware for Oreo. I suggest getting the Korean (region specific) firmware for your specific device.

It took me a little googling but it did turn up. Sammobile site didn't fine it for me, I had to google to get it, even thought it was still the samobile site where I found it. I didn't download any successfully yet.

Seeking clarification on Note 10+ Snapdragon root.

In light of recent developments, is root access still only available to Note 10+ Exynos chips. I have recently found some information. Indicating:
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is a large 6.80-inch screen smartphone boosted with 12 GB of RAM and powered by Samsung Exynos 9825 SoC and the other one with Snapdragon 855 chipset for US/China region users. If you are planning to unlock more features of your Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus, then you are at the right place. In this article, we will guide you on how to root Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus and unlock its bootloader using Magdisk Patched boot.
Question 1: Is it possible to root my note 10+ with Qualcomm Snapdragon chip 855. I have the most recent update of stock firmware and model Sm-975U. Build no. RPIA>200720.012.975USQU5ETLL. I hope I have posted in the right place, if not place advise of appropriate place to post.
Question 2. Why has the recent update (Version 11) locked me out of my internal storage Android/app/data. All file no longer visible. Build.prop linkss me to web page that indicates: net: ERR_access denied.
P.S I am not new to rooting, I have rooted both my Note 3 and my Note 8 using the instructions on XDA without any problems. I like the Note model, but not the restrictions and bloatware. If I purchase the devise, I should be able I to do as wish. All Samsung needs to do is put in a disclaimer, like XDA, "proceed at your own risk". Why has the recent update (Version 11) locked me out of my internal storage Android/app/data. All file no longer visible.
