How to build from the source Android against HTC Desire

Hello everybody,
I'm quite new to Android, but I have some good skill in programming. I saw that Android have some limitation on bluetooth applications.
For example it have a discovery timeout of about 120 seconds(300 seconds max) and after that the application need the user help to extend the discovery time.
Another limitation is that there isn't the possibility to create bluetooth connection between two unpaired device, this limit force users to know each other and limit the possibility to build great proximity application.
So I looked into the Android source code and I found some good point to change to bypass and change these limitation.
Now I want to know how to build a ROM from the my modified source for my Desire.
There is the need to build all the kernel and framework? or can I just to put a modified framework.jar inside the actual system?
I really cannot find any useful guide on how to build from the source android against Desire.
Thanks in advance, any help are very appreciated
Marco

[Help] HUD Head Up Display code Help wanted.

Hi all ,
I ask the developer from a HUD application for a source code because the the Android head unit mtcb running malasyk. In my case can't make a connection to the Bluetooth. It close the program .
Maybe you can test it in your device and
Post here your belongings.
I.m search some one to look at the code what is going on . And make it available fore the Android headunit.
What is it:
The unit it self is the server and your fone the receiver. I like this development because all the HUD software is only stand alone . And this has more features than all the other.
Take a look here and test please on your device.
The code is free available (thanks sjonsen)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498068
I hope there is some that have the time to look at it.
3line is the source code.
Really know one?
Interested too. Can donate $30 if someone make it work on malaysk px5 Android 6 or 8.

Becoming a Developer - What Tools to Use?

Good evening,
I've been using XDA forums for years to root my android devices. I'm due to try out the new Galaxy S7 Active root and I'll probably be trying to get that done within the next week or so.
I'd like to transition from being a user of knowledge here on the forum to being a producer of it. I have an aftermarket touch screen head unit in my car (pioneer MVH-AV290BT) that I would like to hack to run something other than the stock ROM, like Android Auto or a Linux distribution. If this was already done and there was a thread, I could replace the ROM, but I'd like to learn how to create it myself instead of waiting for someone else do it for me. What tools are used in enabling systems to run aftermarket ROMs? What are the typical processes used in finding exploitable weaknesses?
For reference, I would like to replace the OS on my head unit to allow it to interface with my car's OBD2 port, which I am currently doing with a raspberry pi running into the video input of the console. However this solution is clunky and I would much rather integrate this functionality into the head unit itself, which has the hardware capability to do so. I could do this if it were running a standardized or open source operating system.
I'm a graduate student in engineering and so I have a firm grasp of python, C and its derivatives, and working in a UNIX console. I have written applications in python, C, MATLAB, and JavaScript. I'm just unfamiliar with the process of finding and exploiting weaknesses and am having trouble finding more information.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
