Question Screen on Time - Samsung Galaxy F62 / M62

Hi Everyone,
The F62/M62 is a battery champ for sure, but a lot of reviews indicate that the efficiency is not as great as the M51 with the 730G. Please post your screen on time so that everyone could benefit from it.
PS: I saw in the M51 thread that people were getting 15+ hours of screen on time by disabling a lot of useless apps using Samsung Package disabler pro. Has anyone tried something similar on F62?
Cheers!

Following. I get 17hrs+ on my M51 with Greenify and certain apps disabled. Interested to see how F62 performs in comparison.

I am getting 10hr of screen on time on average on Samsung f62.
Cons :
Other then that I face random heating near camera
GPU is not that powerfull, Jitters while playing in full graphics : cod, pubg, asphalt 9.
It took 2 hrs to charge the phone.
No system app lock.
Pros :
Display is awesome.
Camera is superb in daylight images.
Full Knox support
Waiting for custom ROMs.

Hi everyone,
Just got a new F62 but I don't find this to be a battery champ. I hardly get any screen on time and the usual brightness is just good enough to see the screen in the dark. Attached is my battery usage. (working from home don't need high brightness). Not entirely sure if this is an issue with my device or if I'm missing something that I should be doing (removing useless apps and installing greenify)

Seems like a lot of people don't know how to measure SOT.

What would be a better way to measure it in that case? I'm sort of a noob in this

Exactly.... i have samsung f62 device. The battery backup is just fab. When it comes to gpu at starting while playing a high end game like asphalt or cod the performance was about 60 fps. Gradually devices gets to heat up and the cpu tends to be slower like it literally drops to 30 in order to reduce heat and yhats a bad thing in this software as of mi and oppo phones the software won't reduce cpu speed even when device gets hot but thats not safe anyway as it may explode. So what's the thing? Nothing just wait for the update of play those high end games in a cool place where cpu gets cooler even when gpu is hot

Lol. I don’t even own this phone anymore. Gone back to using the weak note 20 ultra battery.

So far I've managed 10hr 14min with 26% battery still remaining.
That was 2:30hr using Google nav on max brightness. The rest was mostly watching YouTube with mid brightness. I use digital wellbeing to measure my screen time.
Note: My phone is running the latest F62 firmware and I have partially debloaded my phone with ADB

I am getting 10 Hr average SOT with a full charge, almost 10% drop overnight. Software is poorly optimized. Samsung is doing nothing about it. My phone is under the Flipkart Smart Upgrade Plan so I can't even do anything. This is not the performance of a 7000mah battery, I thought the heavyweight was a tradeoff but it's not. Feel cheated.

I can do between 13 and 16 hours of screen time, if I turn on power saving, limit CPU by 70%, reduce brightness by 10%, I get more than 15 hours easy! I also disabled some apps, which maybe helped the autonomy!

Question Screen on time

Hello i own iPhone 12 pro max, but heavily considering oneplus 9 pro because of being lighter and having less width, how much screen on time you guys getting and LTE/Wi-Fi mixed and auto brightness after updates?
I have tmobile version and I get anywhere from 7 to 8 1/2 hours
After the last update I'm getting 6-8h SOT with lower resolution, 120hz and WiFi and LTE 50/50, BT always on, sync on. When I'm using my phone as WiFi hotspot i can get only 2-3h SOT.
Before update I had 3 to 5h max.
This is where I'm at currently. A little less screen time then normal but that's because I was playing company of heroes.

I don't generally look up my screen on time but I can definitely say that there is significant improvement in battery life in star to day usage after that last update over the weekend. I can easily go the whole day if I don't get into an hours long gaming session.

Unfortunately tmobile doesn't have 11.2.3.3 yet I can't wait to see if it improves when I get the update.
Sorry to go off topic but do you know when the tmo update will be released, or an area to follow for that info? Thanks

Im really hoping it comes soon
Me too, driving on a trip and overheating just from maps. Really frustrating.
Tmobile version here. Not overly impressed with battery life so far, but I haven't gotten any new updates either. I turned down resolution just to see if that helps, but I hate having to hamper a high end phone for better battery life.
I'm around 4 hours SOT
Unlocked OnePlus 9 Pro on Verizon, with update 11.2.3.3. Being mostly on WIFI as well as Bluetooth, and Location being on all the time, 1440P 120hz. I'm only getting around 4 hours 30 mins with 15% battery life left.
I got the same 4 hours 30 mins with my previous 6T, same with my 3T before that. No idea if my apps are the issue or I have bad luck.

Try leaving it plugged in overnight after wiping cache in recovery. I did that and it did wonders for my battery life. It's something to do with how google implemented app optimization it doesn't do it unless it's on the charger at 100 percent without being messed with that's why overnight works best.

Question Battery life thread

My battery life is not great. Became worse after rooting. Better than my 4XL, but not getting "all day plus" battery life.
What are others experiencing?

I'm absolutely blown away. Every morning I have a routine where I go outside and have my coffee and chain smoke a few darts, read the news, look at memes and such and typically I'm using it about an hour and on my S21+ or Z Fold 3 I'd always be down to 93 or 94%. Today was no different and I was still at 100 after doing so. I then went to work and used Android auto so it stayed full until about 830 am when I took it off the charger. It's 745 pm and I'm at 80% with just a bit over 4 hrs sot. Didn't tweak any settings whatsoever to try and save battery.

Often but not always poor battery is dependant on what apps you have that are running in the BG or sending push notifications, etc. Some games like to do that and just destroy battery life. Facebook likes to kill battery that's for sure. That's really the only social media site I use regularly. I likely won't have many games on this. I'll jus my fold for games

Also, with official 30w charger it did not reach 50% but 43 from 5% left.

Subjectively, battery life seems to be pretty cool. Nothing seems to drain particularly quickly and I've only had to charge a couple of times since Tuesday. Features such as lift to wake are all on. The only one that isn't is always on display as I never find that very useful when lift to wake is active.
Battery is absolutely fine for me. I've always charged my phone's at night anyway so as long as it lasts all day with my usage its good. It would last about a day and half if i wasn't charging each night. Screen on time has been between 5-7 hours with battery left of at least 40% each evening. I've turned off AOD this morning to see if that makes much difference in the next couple days as well.
Finally a positive thread hopefully with real experiences and no trolls.

I don't own this device but would be interesting to test out battery life after trimming most of the Google spyware/scam processes, GAPPs completely replaced and extreme overall de-bloating/trimmed setup for max batt. I'm guessing the results may be quite impressive...

Question How's the battery life & SOT after weeks of usage? [S21 FE Snapdragon ver.]

It is said that a Samsung phone learns users' habits and the battery life gets better after weeks.
Is that true?
I want to buy S21 FE (Snapdragon ver.) but the battery test results in Youtube videos are kinda concerning.
What's your Screen On Time after weeks of usage? Has it become better over time?
The only comaprison I can give is that it last at least 25% longer then Note 20 Ultra 5G with exynos and same battery capacity, FHD and 120hz. 888 is effective.
Initially I was concerned.. but after a week of light usage it easiely lasts 1 day with full charge.. SOT around 4-5hr.
Mine had 4h and 20 minutes since full charge. But I have about 50 apps in deep sleep mode. 5G disabled. And always on WiFi.
It seems today I have different results. I had a 100% charge yesterday morning. So, today at 10 AM I have 13 % left. During nighttime, it uses about 4% without turning on airplane mode.

Are u using 120Hz refresh rate?

This is with 60HZ.
Update: nevermind. I just noticed I had the power saving feature on. I will have to repeat the test with it set to off )
Ok, final results with 60 Hz on and 52 deep sleeping apps. Phone has been running for about 32 hours straight. I did not use airplane mode and I was always set to wifi. I do not play video games. Just YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, and I often use the camera and browser.

I am using bixby routines to switch between 120 and 60hz. Mainly the UI is 120hz and apps that don't cross 60fps like streaming services or some games are just set to 60hz.

Not a heavy user, but I'm quite happy with the battery life. This did include about 15 minutes using android auto connected, but that charged only a few percent.
Some extra info:
- mostly WiFi
- only used 4G when not on WiFi
- airplane mode during the night
- screen mostly set to 60Hz
Switched from note 10 plus to s21 fe for slightly smaller phone as s21 battery was much smaller..
Battery life is pretty good with wifi most of the time and many apps in deep sleep so it's not running in background .. my suggestion to others is to setup Bixby routines to switch to power saving at night or when battery is lower than 30% or so.. continually review apps draining battery or memory..
I get 5-6+ hours SOT.. need to test with navigation and lte use while on the road

You set your default refresh rate to 120Hz
Then you set up your application routine where you put in all the aps and set them to 60hz
With the exception of those you want to still run on 120Hz ofcourse
That is how i have it setup
I probably could get 9 hours, but I am using battery saving mode and limiting cpu usgae to 70%. It still is really fast. To preserve the battery I limit it to 85% and from 85% to 35% it last about 4.5 hours. Meanwhile I have GPS and Bluetooth on all the time. One pro tip if one wants still smooth experience with the 60Hz change the animation scale in the developer settings to 0.5.

It's "normal. It goes even higher under heavier usage. Snapdragon 888 is to blame here. Don't look for "solutions" on how to "cool my phone down". lol SOC is trash and it's consuming way to much power thanks to Samsung and their manufacturing **** process.

People worry way too much. These SoCs are meant to run hot and throttle themselves long before they do damage. Put a case on it to mitigate the physical sensations somewhat and just go about your life. It's because of complaints like this that companies like OnePlus and Samsung have been selling us devices with forced throttles, impacting battery life by shifting processes to less powerful cores.

Well then you just gotta get used to it running warm or turn off 5G and use power saving modes, use a kernel that allows you to undervolt/underclock.
5G produces a ridiculous amount of heat when it's actively being used. My iPhone 12 Pro Max would get so hot I couldn't hold it when I used the 5G modem for more than a minute of downloading. My OnePlus 9 is thankfully better but still not great and it wastes a ton of power in standby anyway, almost three times what it uses with 5G disabled.
The 888 does run warm when it's firing on all cylinders but I hardly ever notice my OnePlus 9 getting warm unless I'm using it heavily so check and make sure you don't have background processes going rogue.
OP 9pro is Vegas hot in July while surfing and gaming during winter.

Ive had zero issues with device heating. 888 is silica lottery
the max temp i had was 32º celsius ... but like i said, never had a mobile so hot like this
As others have said, it’s mostly the 888’s fault. I sold my 9 Pro as it got way too warm to use comfortably for my use case.
Using GPS outdoors would prompt an overheating message in ~10-15 minutes.
Gaming is also not fun. After ~5 minutes of Genshin you can feel the heat, and after ~10-15 minutes into Genshin it’s uncomfortably warm to hold and makes my hands perspire.

Question Battery life

Hey friend
Here you can Post everything about your Battery experience with the redmagic 8 pro
Testing the battery as we speak
thanks
So this is what 100% of my battery will use in 36 hours!! This includes initial setup and syncing all kinds of stuff which drain a lot. Not bad at all.
The s23 ultra which looks a great phone is more than twice the price, it'll have a much better camera but that ain't worth twice the price for me, it can't compare battery wise either!
Half wifi half 4g, 120hz no games yet lol

Yes
Here's another example, no installing apps and setup synching. Using lightly, browsing the net mostly on 60hz and on WiFi.
I must add I only charge to 80% to try keep that better healthy

In ideal situations I think. Outside on 4g/5g feels like maybe 1.5 hours screen on time per 10% battery life

Also very good!! 1hour per 10% is good. More is even better
I can't believe it!
The s23 ultra is actually almost as good as the redmagic 8 pro in battery performance. I'm surprised

Hey mate im on my first Charge... Have enough to come though the day i think
Loads of browsing, hour youtube, loads of WhatsApp, over a whole day with 8 hours screen on time with almost 30% left? I think you might need a battery pack to carry around
That's great!
Mines even better. S23 ultra. As usual charged to 80% only.
Light usage, mostly like yours with Samsung browser being used the most, WhatsApp and so on, all wifi so far. It's better than the redmagic 8 pro?!?! How?? I'm confused and shocked!
