Only if you have a problem with sim signal.
I was watching crDroid PIE v5 videos and looks so juicy... a lot of stuffs of personalization, i was missing in lineage 16 beta the nav bar... i had to get it from build.prop.
I'm so tempted to flash this new work... thx @ibilux
when I connect the phone to charger or to a computer, the phone suddenly restarted... help
when installing the rom, it's look so well done. but when I installing the kernel, the installation didn't finish yet, twrp suddenly restart (I used twrp given by you above), the twrp always restart after I adding another zip files, either it the kernel, the modem, even openGAP too... please help. and the other thing about keep restarting, it happen when:
connecting phone to computer/charging
open 3rd party file manager (mi file manager/reading a big data files)

I FIXED my problem by installing the rom first then restart and do some android set-up. then restart the phone to recovery mode and then install other zip files (kernel, modem, etc.) and it's work.
BUT what happen now is the app (like google play store) is freeze easily.
Well, i've flashed this ROM, my advice is flash addonSU of last, cuz i was getting a sudden restart if flashed that after the ROM. In the beginning the ROM was a lil slow, but now is running fine
Some bugs on personalization:
- the blur effect on the theme section is buggy
- the smartbar transparency and custom icon scaling is not working
Pro:
- The personalization layer got a lot of good stuffs to test and try, i love the smartbar functions
- Good tiles options in the notification bar
Cons:
- My wifi connection drops are very hard with this... with lineage 16 and the custom kernel still exists this problem, although it was easily solvable, but in crDroid is so often that these drops happen, and sometimes a reboot is mandatory to solve it.
I will try this rom a bit more before I make the decision to change it, but the problem with wireless connectivity is getting serious for me.

it will be so buggy... dont try it. look in the forum for custom ROM's for your device...

Does this ROM have some advantages over the previous one (LineageOS 16.0 for Xiaomi Redmi Note 2)?
I have been using LOS16 for a few months now, it's OK, but sometimes (not often) it freezes, and slows down.
So I don't want to change to this ROM necessarily...only if recommended.

The difference is just some more customization.
Does it heat before slowing down? or do u use heavy apps ?

open gapps. and also what I found here
youtube apps gave a same problem as LOS16 that you made before. but it became a bit better when you play the video (youtube) from web browser. video player is working fine here.

I don't use 'heavy' apps at all, and I didn't experience heat. As I wrote, there were just a few freezing (however I had to take out the battery to be able to get out from the freezing at all), and I can't really describe a specific program when it froze (maybe browsing in Chrome..)
Anyway, so far so good. Maybe I will give a shot to this rom..what can I lose?

Personally i think that chrome is becoming very heavy to this "oldie" devices... im browsing in crDroid with Opera Mini, and works pretty well, i recommend this change, but i think that the adblocker from opera is a lil buggy... but still is my choise

I updated to 3.3.1 in the process of trying to get the rom to install. I'll give your build of TWRP a try at some point.

Footej Camera works perfectly for me. But tbh i didn't test any other camera apps. so if u found any better camera app u can share it here to the rest of users.

Didn't test it. it may or may not work. u can test it and share the experience.
backup your data & apps just in case, using Migrate app, and do a clean fresh flash if it didn't work.

Ok so dirty flash was a huge fail for me so did a clean flash and EVERYTHING works great in fact it feels like a brand new phone.. DAMN it's great again... Having used LineageOS 14 and being hugely disappointed by it this rom is a MASSIVE BREATH OF FRESH AIR.. And has actually made my RN2 USEFUL again.... Thank you for your excellent hardwork...

Just friggin loving this rom.... only issue I have had is occassionly it disconnects from WIFI and then take a long time to reconnect... other than that all works great.
for those wanting a better camera all the following work great

all with similar results and all pretty damn good.
possible second issue
if I add or change unlock pin code... RN2 just locks up... have to pull battery out, once rebooted code has been changed and can unlock phone fine after that... seems too be the initial action of adding or changing it that causes issue.

my sim cards don't seem to work on this rom. i've had this issue before in RR 5.8.5 and the only way to fix it is just to reboot my phone and voila, it's fixed, but in this rom it can't even read my sim cards at all
edit :
sim 1 is working as of right now. i just had to wait for it to work though the signal cluster icons don't show that it does. sim 2 is still not working
i have successfully installed both magisk and xposed. they both work like a charm thus far. i'll let you know if there's anything going on

dirty flash didn't work for me so i flashed the rom cleanly. magisk and EdXposed work so well. the default wallpaper picker is limiting me from cropping an image the way i want to so i used wallpaper picker from GApps, battery life is as good as the oreo rom you just released recently. navigation bar menu wasn't found in the setting although i can search it and it shows where it is. currently running gravitybox and greenify on EdXposed and redmi note 2 tool to optimize my battery life. instagram still stutters every time a video and or a live feed is being played
update :
instagram stutter issue is not as bad as the one in the LOS 15.1, battery life is slightly worse than LOS 15.1's, substratum doesn't work as good as in the LOS 15.1

But there is a serious problem - it is impossible to connect to a hidden wifi access point. In advanced settings support for a hidden access point is on.
if make AP visible SSID then phone may connected, but if make AP hidden SSID then phone not see this AP and not connect even if AP name was saved!
WiFi Analyzer application installed on this phone shows hidden APs without SSID.
I had this problem and with lineage-15.1-20200422 firmware too.
Please fix this problem! I need it very much!

want to share my experience using this rom.
previously i was using miuipro so more or less i compare these 2 roms.
PROS:
1 pretty good battery life
2 better performance
3 it's lighter
4 better than lollipop
CONS:
1 it reboots randomly (more than 10 times in a day)
2 the sim cards sometimes not detected, when detected the signal have X mark sign
3 confusing settings menu for me
4 not support non-mainstream icon app in status bar
5 can't play media (music, YouTube) from BT speaker
after all really appreciate your work

it's still in beta so we may experience some bugs along the way. you might wanna try the more stable LOS 15.1 released by him as well last month. it has better battery life and it's easier to install magisk and xposed in that very rom. though i like how substratum works in this LOS 16, i still have better experience overall in LOS 15.1 as it's more stable and the only bug i encountered was some stuttering on instagram in both vanilla and modded app. i don't really use it though, so it's not a big of a deal for me

sorry i don't fully understand because i looked to development option>system webview there was only 1 option then i installed android system webview from play store so i switch to the new one and the problem was still there

Thank you so much for reviving my secondary phone.
I was searching and waiting for updates and now it is there! All problems with auto rebooting is easy to fix. Just flash kernel in thread bellow and ROM will run normally. I hope updates will rollout in future .

if you use mobile data from sim 2 it can't connect often, it has to restart repeatedly, sorry master if it interferes, just delete my unnecessary post,

OTA Instructions:
Installing updates automatically from the Updater won't work, so follow these instructions if you want to update via OTA - If you have encrypted /data Lineage Recovery won't work, use TWRP/PBRP/OrangeFox:
After downloading the update, long press on it and tap "Export update". The zip file will be exported to /data/lineageos_updates
Reboot to recovery and enter decryption password if necessary
Tap "Install" (not necessary on OFox), browse to /data/lineageos_updates and select the zip file
Install the zip, wipe cache/dalvik and reboot.
Open the Updater, long press on the update and tap on "Delete" (optional)
Notes:
Read the instructions above for OTA updates!

Just puts me in a bootloop when i try to install it(never getting past the Redmi spalsh screen)...
Curtana 6/128, previously running the official redmi rom(unlocked bootloader, then re-installed miui)
Should add that when i try to run the pixel experience it does not recognize my sim cards or any wifi, so maybe something more is wrong with my phone.

Installation worked. But it didn't connect to my wifi. It connected to mobile hotspot, so maybe an issue of my wifi. I tried two times and wiped cache and data. Didn't work. So I installed resurrection remix. Now it works.

In my case i installed with pbr and no issues, i always format data and wipe cache, dalvik, system......and all is working fine, i'm not a heavy user and deep sleep is now at 91% two days after installation, i flashed with nikgapps core, i'm on joyeuse, RR is also a good chance, but there is no selinux enforcing...
question to the people who actually tried this rom on a joyeuse:
does everything work? the current miatoll compiled custom rom i use (pixel extended) deactivated the nfc function

All is working, have tried nfc with android bean and works

But i found some little things:
1. Camera Cutout is on Traffic Indicator position, so cant't use it
2. When i Pulldown Quicktiles i get 10(QQ3A200805.001) right behind the edit Stick (AndroidDownloadManager/10, says google if i search for the text), just cosmetic
3. It's not pssible to Remap the Software Button functions (not longpress or double tap) even with Button remapper
4. Kernel is built without Wireguard support, it' so damn easy to add https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/wireguard-rom-integration-t3711635
5. How the Hell did you integrate ANX Cam 190 with all functions, tried all ,can't get it working, could'd you explain which modules you used.

I'll fix the cutout in the next update, but afaik LOS doesn't support traffic indicator on devices with notch/cutout
It's an AOSP/LOS thing, when you enable developer options the build number appears in the quick settings
I think LOS doesn't support button remapping

I also installed ANXCameraProvider and disabled hand gestures from ANXCamera Pro app and everything works

what about camera and stabilty?
I just updated from 7.2 to 7.3 and it's absolutely awesome.
I have been looking for a rom only for this sole reason but every single rom I went through just have that OTG kernel bug (android 11) that prevent the controller to connect to the phone. Unforturnately, it happens with this rom, too. When the rom is installed, it works, then after a single reboot, it refuses to receive any OTG devices (including controllers)
Edit: Nevermind, I fixed this by shutting down the phone completely and then power on with the OTG plugged in instead of rebooting.

Hello. Does anyone else have problems with GPS? I have two devices that are experiencing issues:
- Redmi Note 4X, currently on crDroid 7.2. Apps like OSM, weather cannot find location at all. Updated to crDroid 7.3 — same.
- Redmi Note 9 Pro, currently on crDroid 7.3. Some apps (Sygic, GPSTest) take a loooong time to get a fix (latest attempt in GPSTest said '370 sec') and other apps (OSM, weather) cannot get a fix at all.
What could I do to fix this?

Redmi note 9pro eu (joyeuse), crdroid 7.3, GPS test app, get a fix in few seconds. Maybe firmware? Try to flash latest firmware.

Redmi note 9s GpsTest on first run takes 6 seconds (subsequently it is faster) so it must be firmware. Make sure you test outside.

When I just got the phone (while waiting for bootloader unlock) I installed the latest MIUI update. I suspect that it should have updated firmware too.
Any way I've now installed V12.0.2.0.QJZEUXM from here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/joyeuse/
And things haven't changed much. Sygic seems to be able to get a fix faster, GPS testing apps get first fix somewhere between 6 and 12 seconds — that's all an improvement. Yet OSMAnd, weather widget, and even google's "Find my phone" cannot get location at all.
I'm still lost
So, sometimes there's this wallpaper glitch out whenever I quit an application, it reverts back to normal when I turn off then turn on the screen.
I don't really know if this is rom or app related.

Hello, so yesterday have installed the rom. I went to havoc to this one, and everything went great. The installation was smooth, the phone booted up really quick, all the settings was working fine, the only thing I found out was that when I restart the phone, the data connection has to be turned off, and then on again. Other than that, I was thinking that everything will be fine, but I was wrong. This morning I found the device totally blocked. Black screen, didn't want to turn on at all... I had to try a few times to turn off/on the phone. I really like the rom, is fast, looks good, and would like to keep it. Any idea?

I would flash it again (make sure you format data), I had the data issue too but I reset it and since then everything is good.
My only issue with this rom (just got the device, might be something common to all '11 roms) is the encryption by default. I flashed a zi that removed encryption but for some reason MicroG didn't work properly afterwards so I let it be encrypted.

I will probably flash it again, just first want to see if it will do it again. I saw there is a MatLog app running all the time (don't even know why is there), and yesterday I have disabled it, and want to see if this is the cause. Will let you know.

MatLog app shouldn't be the cause. MatLog is a logging tool for development purposes (a logger that logs system events so users can easily report bugs to developers without a PC to run adb logcat).
Also, to address your issue, please give logs if possible, so I can fix the problem for everyone.

I think I have fixed the problem for Note 9 Pro. It seems that it had something to do with NikGapps-core. I've ended up:
- formatting 'data'
- reinstalling crDroid

Hello and thank you for the reply. Yes I understood what the MatLog app is doing so no issues there, but the phone did not froze anymore so I cannot send you any log. It seems everything is working well. The only issue I have found, with the stock launcher, when you use the 2 button navigation, the swipe up to open the app drawer is a bit buggy, but this is not an issue. Other than that, everything is working well so far.

All ROMs will encrypt the device - unless you take deliberate steps to prevent that from happening.

In my ZUK Z2, RoarTheGapps_20211207 which you provided in G apps link in crDroid v8.2, is installed in twrp but after boot there is no any apps related to Gapps only stock apps showing

Can you add 'disable U Touch' or all the customisation for U Touch? I mean I like the touch disabled and button working.
Also Bluetooth calling is bugged, cannot hear audio while in call. Audio FX is not working at all. Please use Fixy 4.4 vendor kernel, its working much better than stock, battery life and temperatures are under control.

Have you done the installation based on the 1st post (please see below)? On the other hand, you tried to do update from a different OS, or does your Zuk have had at least a Zui 3.5 installed before you try to install this OS? To be honest, I prefer clean installation any time I try an OS, to avoid problems, doesn`t mean I`ll not encounter any problem, but it`s reduced. On the other hand, if I know well then older Zui versions are not suitable to use newer OS`s (newer than Android 9 or Android 10).
First time installation:

What version does call recording work in?
mine is constantly rebooting (boot loop). recovery could be accessed but somehow i cant get it to boot. it was working fine until I installed gcam and now it is not. any help
Thanks for the rom. I am having issues. My phone is heating and restarting often.When not in use nothing happens,but the battery goes down faster even when not in use.Hope you can help me out. I flashed the rom exactly according to the instructions given.
Reverted back to crdroid version 11 and works well without any restarts or massive battery drain. Hope you can look into this issue. Thanks

audio effects broken(no dsp will work); drain seems ok; heating normal for this phone
BTW on 8.5 2022-05-15 build
1) Audio is dead in any type of Call (Phone call, Discord, WhatsApp Call) over bluetooth. Also there is a bug when I connect to discord call while using earphones over audio jack, the audio has super heavy bass and left sided, it can be fixed when you disconnect call and play video and while it plays you connect to the call.
2) FlameGapps installs Wallpaper & Styles app and when you open it to change wallpapers from the launcher or any other options it crashes. Forced to use from settings.
3) Builds would get better if integrated Google apps so that we don't need alternatives like Miui trash apps. Or make seperate non-gapps variant of builds.
4) CPU is set to Interactive which makes it run hot. A better kernel governor is needed for better battery as this phone is so old I can't keep replacing battery every 3 months.

I faced no issue with my z2 plus so far with this rom, my z2 plus is 5 years old and I've not done any battery replacement yet
I was on Android 12 Xtended rom then first I flashed latest twrp available officially here for z2 plus

then I swiped flash button and after completion clicked on reboot button and phone booted properly and working fine now and as compare to other android 12 rom this rom runs phone cooler
Just facing one issue which I also faced in last rom as well is that sometime when phone call is coming and phone rings then phone shutdowns very quickly during ringing but after starting phone works normally
Hi, This OS works really great having some minor issues but It's managable. It runs really smooth but not optimized for battery. If we can have a feature like background app manager, It would be great.
One issue is related to the vibration setting, where it won't work for vibrate and ring gradully, Or if I turned of vibration for ring. Then phone vibration setting works as silent. It's should vibrate I think, Please help if possible.

Replaced the battery and the draining part vanished, but there are random reboots when the phone is in sleep mode, also the heating is still present and more so if wifi or mobile data is active. I guess this is because of the cpu governor which is more aggressive towards performance than battery saving. Despite some minor bugs which needs to be fixed the rom works very well. I flashed magisk for root but it caused random reboots and sluggishness even though i had not installed any module, so i uninstalled it completely and wiped system, data, dalvik art cache/cache, internal storage and format data as well and did a clean flash which worked of course without root, but still random reboots remain. Hope you can look into it. I am at the latest version crdroid v8.7 android 12. Also i would like to ask if the rom is EOL or updates are going to continue.
