TWRP backup restore - Xiaomi Mi 10T / 10T Pro Questions & Answers

Hello, friends.
I would like to know if any of you have had a (positive) experience restoring a backup with any of the TWRP versions out there, and if so, with which one...
Thank you in advance

[Q] Back Up Options

Hey guys, i have a Rooted Evo4G and am in the process of switching ROMs to find the best one. Now i know to use nandroid before every flash, and to use Titanium Backup to backup/restore data once the device is flashed. My MAIN question is what is the difference between nandroid backup and the rom backup option in Rom Manager?
To be honest, nandroid backup never does the job right - so is the rom backup better/as good as nandroid?
Thanks in advance.

Nandroid backup and backup option in rom manager is the same thing. Both of them take a snapshot of your phone's state at the time you do it. Can you elaborate on how your nandroids don't get it right?
Fwiw, I highly recommend using Amon_Ra to nandroid than clockwork, personal preference though. Good luck
Like agentphantom asked, what exactly is happening that makes you think something is wrong?

Restoring CWM backup with TWRP, possible?

I made a backup of the stock ROM using CWM but had issues getting certain ROMs to work until I changed the recovery to TWRP. Is it possible to restore the backup made in CWM with TWRP?
I was planning on backing current ROM with TWRP, going back to CWM; restoring stock ROM, installing TWRP and recreating backup with TWRP but I'm just wondering if it's possible.
Thanks!
EDIT: I found the answer myself not 10 seconds after posting this. I hate it when that happens!! FYI, the answer is No.

[TWRP HELP] Backup failing to restore.

Hi Everyone,
I apologize if someone has already posted something similar to this but I'm having issues restoring from a backup I made on 2.8.6.0 TWRP. It is always failing on the data partition and this is happening on other back ups that are more recent.
I have a lot of things I need on my back up such as contacts, sms etc. I know that I should have backed that up with Titanium back up or something like that.
Any help is greatly appreciated! I will provide as much info as I can.
Regards,
Marcus Garces
Really brain breaking news to report, I moved to Philz Touch 6.57.8 recovery and again! Data failed to restore!! I'm starting to think that my sd card is now to blame.
Cwm backups are not compatible with twrp backups and vice versa.
You can extract data from nandroid backups fairly easy. One way is nandroid manager.
Did you encrypt your backups?
The same problem but M7, I search on google and find this topic.
Now I can;t restore my backup in twrp 2.8.5.0.
I really need my contacts, sms, call log...

Hello @Nilshalok,
use the GUIDE from the official OnePlus Forum for backing up your EFS without TWRP.
use oficial twrp from here https://dl.twrp.me/oneplus3/. i used this for the first backup of efs,and then, the most important thing i restored my efs when i lost it.

TWRP Nandroid Backup/Restore (Android PIE)

HI Guys,
I'm on android pie (Whyred) on the Pixel Experience ROM. Although I could take full nandroid backup using TWRP, when I try to restore the same, the phone is not booting into system and gets stuck at mi logo. Also, there is no error message while restoring, it seems to go well.
So this made the rom switching very hard and I don't like to use Titanium backup as it requires root. I just need that Nand restore.
Do you guys face the same issue? is there any solution to this?? Please pitch in guys.
Thanks in advance:good:
