Question possibility of flashing BA(EU) rom into a LE15AA oneplus 9 pro - OnePlus 9 Pro

My phone is going to be delivered this weekend. However, it is NA version with single sim. Has anyone own a oneplus 8 pro to 8t NA before has the experience to flash to EU rom to have the dual sim functionality unlock before the official rom from NA?

You can definitely do that, but the physical SIM card tray actually has a piece of plastic preventing you from using it as a dual SIM tray on the AA variants.
So you will either need a new dual SIM tray, or modify it yourself to be compatible..

Dual sim on network blocked s9?

Hi to you all.
I'm about to buy a S9 from Vodafone.
Vodafone blocks the dual-sim functionality on all dual-sim devices that they sell.
However, a year or two ago I came across with a Huawei P8 Lite for my kid and there was a trick that managed to make the P8 dual sim once again.
We had to unlock the device with the proper code and then install the TPH Rom from Huawei.
Do you think that the same thing will happen with the S9?

I don't think so. On Samsung (not sure about others) they do not assign a secondary IMEI on the single SIM versions so that will be the biggest problem even if you find a way to activate it.
My point is that Vodafone does not have single sim phones. They sell the dual-sim S9 but they block the 2nd SIM functionality.
Not a hardware problem.

That might be true for Huawei phones but that has not been my experience with Samsung. Typically the dual SIM Samsungs are a different SKU, they are even labelled as 'Duos' on the device (I am looking at my dual SIM S7 now).

That was true until the S8....indeed Dual Sim models were different from single-sim models.
But with S9, there is no single-sim model in Europe, so the S9 that Vodafone will receive is the same... they just block de dual-sim conectivity, just as they did with the huawei models, that were all dual-sim.

Oh wow had no idea, thank you for the heads up. I have always wondered why Samsung have the option for either single or dual sim when buying direct from their site, particularly as they are the same price.

G960F vs G960FD - active duos by flashing?

Hi guys. Is there any physical difference, other than thr sim tray, between S9 G960F and G960FD? I got my S9 on contract from MTN South Africa, and their policy is "no dual sim phones". Is it possible to activate dual sim functionality by putting a different rom version on?

Apologies, seems to have posted this in the incorrect place. How do you delete it?
I think both phone versions have the same firmware so.... maybe they have a different hardware or when you insert the sim card from your carrier the second slot is blocked by the firmware.
Mine is unlocked, dual sim. I really don't know if you unlock it do the trick!

Ive heard that some guys in Taobao can change G965N into duo sim but it requires no root and bootloader locked firstly. I guess it might be basically just flash FD firmware or some what idk, my 965n had rooted and that duo sim service costs like 200-300RMB for korean variant S9/+/Note9. does anyone know how it works???
No, you cannot convert a single sim into a dual SIM. There's more to it than just the SIM tray unfortunately. The FD has additional hardware.
It's impossible.

Dual SIM with Australian version?

I'm considering getting a fold but I need dual sim capability. Physical sim cards, not esim. I can't find any definitive information about it. Does anyone know?
Thanks.
I don't think there's a dual SIM variant, it's just 1 physical SIM and in some countries an esim

Thanks.. that's a pity. I just looked at the UAE website and the Indian website. UAE is Esim too, and the Indian version doesn't even have that unfortunately. Hopefully my provider supports esim soon.

Question I'm getting mixed information... about dual SIM.

Few threads indicated that there is no dual SIM support, but then I saw a post where (unless it was April's fools day) someone said sim cards go back to back instead of side by side and it is a dual sim phone. Since I travel often to Europe, I need dual SIM feature. Could someone definitely answer this question, please? I bought mine directly from OnePlus U.S. website and it is already back in the box because of this issue, waiting for a RMA label to arrive and I don't want to open it again. I did not see second IMEI number is settings, but maybe it is hidden somewhere and can be activated by a factory code?
European version is dual sim: https://www.oneplus.com/uk/9-pro/specs but US version is not: https://www.oneplus.com/9-pro/specs

Thanks, but that totally sucks. Completely illogical move IMO.
I bought my phone from oneplus from France.
My build is Oxygen OS 2.2.2. LE15BA (BA is European version I think).
You can put 2 sims in the tray back to back, and I'm currently using it with 2 sims.
Here are some screenshots, and a picture from the back of the phone box where you can see there are 2 IMEI i.e. 2 sims.
for those who are interested, i have a dual-sim Chinese version new stellar black op 9 pro selling on swappa.
I am in US west coast.

Question Will the Pixel 6 Pro have Dual Sim?

Hello!
I'm waiting for the Pixel 6 Pro.
But I need dual SIM function - one Sim is a physical one (company SIM) the other could be an eSIM (private one). But a real dual SIM tray would be better...
Does anyone know, if this will be possible? I've read a lot about specs - but nothing about SIM...
Thanks a lot!
We won't know for sure until the phone lands but the Pixel 6 Pro Service and Repair manual has been leaked.
In that there are photos of all the spare parts which shows what looks to be a single SIM slot tray.
Pixel have been doing eSim for years so the assumption is that it will be dual SIM by having one eSim.
The only way to know for sure is to study the manual that leaked earlier
Have a go

The smartphone comes with 6.67 inches display size and it features IP68 dust/water resistance (up to 1.5m for 30 mins). The smartphone supports Nano-SIM and/or eSIM.
Hello!
Many thanks for your help
It looks like dual SIM is supported - one physical one is ok, I already have an eSIM profile. I think, my new phone will be a Google Pixel 6 Pro ;-)
