How To Guide Activate VOLTE and VOWIFI on unsupported OnePlus 9 Pro - OnePlus 9 Pro

Hi,
I've red a lot of subjects on this forum, about people not able to activate VOLTE and VOWIFI.
I had the same issue with my so aged OnePlus 8 Pro.
Here is what solved the problem for me, and many of us :
[GUIDE] Enable VoLTE & VoWiFi on all devices NO ROOT.

It works without root

This just enable VoLTE and VoWiFi switch, but if not supported by provider still no VoLTE and VoWiFi.

Where I live, I cannot get/use VoWIFI anyhow, since I do NOT buy my phones through Verizon. I think that is very slimy of them to not let people use their own phones. :|

What provider are you using? I'm going to see if the vowifi will work on verizon but I won't hold my breath. It didn't on oneplus 8 pro. However 5g works here.

I'm on Orange France

hm i cannot get VoLTE to work. I did all the steps from the tutorial but i just have VoWifi. is there another way to get VoLTE?

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue in trying to downgrade the LogKit apk. Even trying to uninstall the current LogKit version after backing up, doesn't allow me, saying error "failed to locate the apk file."

nope..

Pardon my lack of understanding here, but why is there a need to do anything special for VoLTE, other than have the carrier (Koodo here) enable it on one's mobile plan?
That's what I did here, and then just checked the "VoLTE" setting under "Mobile network" --> SIM, and it works. LE2125.
???

Hmm... I called Rogers about activating 5G on my device and the tech support team was completely useless. Responses from it's impossible because it's not from our product list (moron... my Razr 5g (had 2 of them) all worked just by plugging a sim card, my Oneplus 8T 5G worked by just plugging in a sim card), to it will never work. For my Oneplus 9 pro I modified the policy restrictions and it worked.
I'm wondering what changes when calling in to "activate" Volte?

VoLTE is LTE, not 5G. There's a related but differently named thing for Vo-5G, which I forget the exact term for.

Bought in USA, can do something to use in EU?

Hey,
I bought an LG G7 ThinQ (LMG710TM) in the USA, and i does not connect to the LTE/4G mobile data network here in Hungary. Since it's a T-mobile version i thought if i could unlock it, it may work (i can use my Telekom SIM since the beggining to call/send msg), but i can't get the unlock bin trough LG site, because it says it's an LMG710TMP version which is unlockable, but the phone itself says it just te TM version withouth the P on the end.
Anyways should I even bother to try to unlock it, because i didn't really find any infos which frequencies are supported by my own device, so it maybe just blocked by the software or not.
Thanks!!

It's not rooted right?
Enter the service menu and check the bands. If it says "SUCCESS" then that band is supported. If it says "FAIL" it's not.
Bands 2, 4 and 12 are the ones usually used with GSM LTE in America.

Thank you for your help!
And yes, it's not rooted.
I checked the service menu, the listed(pic1,pic2) bands are all working, at least it said "SUCCESS" when i clicked on them, and in Hungary they use band 3,7 and 20.
I set it on 3, tried to reinsert simcard and restart phone, and airplane mode etc,etc little tricks to get it work, but still no mobile data.
The weird thing i found is the LTE Carrier Aggregation(pic3,pic4). It says what is says on the picture and i can't change it, because it tells me i need to restart my phone. I did it but no changes, so it just stuck at those options. I suspect the problem is there for some reasons that i don't know.
On pic5/pic6 those are some infos about the LTE stuff, sometimes it said Not Supported Mode at the Mode Pref, sometimes it said Automatic. Sadly i don't really know what that means, maybe it will provide some infos to you.

Did you contact the mobile provider and ask them to add your phone's IMEI to their service?
In USA, some people who bought the LG unlocked international phones did not have mobile data until they called the carrier and had them register the IMEI number.
You'll most likely need to setup your APN manually. Go to settings-network and add APN info for your provider there!

Question Can I upgrade LE2125 from single to dual SIM?

I have the USA version of Oneplus 9 pro LE2125. This came with single SIM tray but I bought dual SIM tray from ebay. Can I upgrade the software to unlock the 2nd SIM? I read in some forums that we can but I am a complete newbee so please help...
I have done root/adb...etc before but it's been a while...so I am comfortable.
i was ask this oneplus support for you, you cant use dual sim just with sim apparatus. Because your phone is hardware single sim.
The hardware itself supports it as long as you purchased a dual SIM tray. However, there's no easy way to accomplish it from a software side at this point. A couple of people have said it works in certain custom ROMs, though others can't reproduce with the same ROMs. Some people have accomplished it using a complex and somewhat risky process of flashing modems and other steps that are unclear (search the forum and proceed at your own risk). Most of us are holding out hope for a more reliable and transparent method in OOS12 or custom ROM.
I've never messed with trying dual sim.. But on open beta 2 this is in oneplus logkit settings(*#*#4636#*#*). It can be toggled on and off. I don't have dual tray to see if it will work or not. Dsds(dual sim dual standby)

I've put a dual sim tray in mine and after I upgraded to OS12 open Beta it shows 2 sims. I haven't tried 2 sims simultaneously, but I did try it on both sides.
On OnePlus 8 pro for Android 10 was just one sim, and then on 11 dual, although OnePlus promised the change a head of time. It would be nice if this would be the case on this device.
I'm curious if anyone has flashed the modem from beta 2 on an Android 11 ROM and got dual SIM functionality
Okay I tried flashing it and it made my phone fail to boot, luckily I was able to reflash the old modem and it's working again

Yea I had the Enable DSDS in Open Beta 2, but in Open Beta 3 it's gone. It might be back in Open Beta 4.
Also I'm a different person from the earlier post, I'm only letting you know where to get the *#*#4636#*#*, you open the app I told you to install, then press Method 2 (Android 11).

You wanna know why they removed the Enable DSDS in that weird LE2125.11.C36 update? That was because it was the stable update, they released the Stable update and it's the same build number, makes sense why they removed it.

I've managed to cross flash the V500EM firmware (version: V500EM40b_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0517.kdz). I had to do some more things which I described here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ismatched-error.4345963/page-44#post-87077079
I also crossflashed V500N20b SKT to V500EM40b_00_OPEN_EU.
Everything is working very well. I didnt test 5g & VoLTE.
After reboot still warning "Current version is not available for user. Can't find matched carrier. Check NT-Code: 61"
But phone call & mobile data are working.
Thanks for sharing this and the G8 crossflash tutorial!!!!
I have successfully crossflashed from the V450PM to the V500EM following this guide. Thing to note however is I had a US Cellular phone and not a Sprint phone. Apparently my phone must have been locked to the modem because I had no data or wifi unless I used my old modem files. Using my backed-up modem files I have no problems whatsoever running Corvus rom.
Any questions, feel free to reach out. I was troubleshooting my phone for about two days. Still have the V30 as backup.

So I got another V50 yesterday, this time a V500N.
Unlike the V450PM, I CANNOT use the modem file I started with. It simply fails to work. When I crossflash to the Open EU, my data strength goes down to almost nothing and web pages crawl. I crossflashed back to Open_KOR and the problem resolved. Seems I can flash all the same custom roms, so no reason for me to stay on the Open EU one.
So basically I just wasted a bunch of time crossflashing first to the EU V50 rom, then back to the KOR V50 rom LOL.
Running Corvus S3.2 right now and it's AMAZING

There is still no way to set it up without the switcher app. From what I've gathered, it's because it's not a true Global ROM but a regional one (India) where it was officially released. So although the phone is capable, it's limited by software (so no 5G, VoLTE, VoWiFi unless using a carrier of the official regions). I've read that even if you flash with the ColorOS China ROM, the issue persists. We will have to wait if they program it for true global use in the future or forever stuck using the switcher app.

Yup, that's how it currently is, as far as I understand it.
Also, a reason why the Android 11 rootkit won't work with the 9RT is it already seems to have some ColorOS programming - thus, entering the suggested *#800# for engineering code now just opens a feedback app - something that is also seen on the other OnePlus Android 12 devices.

I have the same problem on an unrooted and bootloader locked OP9. I'm so glad I'm only trying to flash this thing so a friend can use it because I'll never buy another OP device. I guess she's just gonna have to live with F.17.
I believe TMO firmware is most reliable. Just my thoughts. Yes they are a little slow but that is because they do more refining before releasing for a solid firmware.
