Can't install LineageOS on Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite - Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite Questions & Answers

Hi XDA!
I want to install this ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-unofficial-10-0-gauguin-lineageos-17-1.4224633/
I did all the necessary steps:
Copy the ZIP onto my SD card
Boot into TWRP (already installed)
Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> I wiped Dalvik/ART Cache, Cache, Data
Install -> select LineageOS ZIP
After install I went to Wipe -> Format Data
After data format I rebooted into system
After all these steps it just boots into recovery. I also tried with NikGapps, but that gave me error 255 when formatting Data so I will NOT install any GApps (I also don't need them).
What am I doing wrong here? I have already flashed LineageOS on my Redmi Note 7, so these steps should work.
Thanks for any help

This rom requires you to be on android 10 stock MIUI firmware
Either flash that first or if you want to remain on stock MIUI android 11 firmware choose a different custom rom that is based on Android 11 stock firmware
Note an android 11 custom rom can still be based on stock MIUI android 10 firmware/vendor so don't get confused!
Read the first post fully and it will tell you what firmware is required
And if you want gapps I would use open gapps nano version

Questions about LVM and flashing ROM

Hi, I have an Oppo Find 7 model X9076 (monitor 2k) with original ColorOS v2.1.5i (android 5.0) and unified partitions (32 GB total space not 3+29).
I wanted to upgrade it to omni-7.1.1-20170402.
I have TWRP installed and I have the following zip files: "removelvm_find7_FULL_WIPE.zip", "setuplvm_find7_FULL_WIPE_09012014.zip", "omni-7.1.1-20170219-find7-WEEKLY.zip" (i also have the latest one), "open_gapps-arm-7.1-micro-20170223.zip" (i also have the stock one), and "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip".
Question time:
1- I tried flashing supersu (version 2.46), everything goes fine, i clean chace/dalvik than reboot, I start the supersu app and it asks me to update , i try updating but always fail and the phone keeps being unrooted. How can I solve this issue? Is it possible to upgrade to omni 7.1.1 without root?
2- In order not to have issues do i have to flash omni than flash the lvm zip or viceversa?
3- In order to have one single partition of 32GB which file do i have to flash? setuplvm or removelvm?
Thanks everyone for helping such a noob-modder.
Flash latest twrp image. If you already have unified partition through colorOS, then no need to flash setuplvm or removelvm. Just wipe data, system, cache, dalvik and flash latest Omni followed by gapps and then in the end flash latest SuperSu 2.79. Reboot and pray for yourself
Hello I have an Oppo Find 7s x9076 too.
I don't have unified storage on my phone.
My question is, what I have to do to get lvm?
Is something like that.?
Steps:
1. Nandroid backup,
2. flash setuplvm_find7_FULL_WIPE_10282014.zip
3. Reboot into TWRP
4. Flash OmniROM, gapps and superSU (can I flash the 3 at same time?)
Or I have to make a full wipe before all this steps?

Need help to install custom rom

Hello,
I don't know why my lg g3 phone doesn't want boot on custom rom.
I have the LG G3 d855 model, 16gb memory and here are my procedure to install every custom rom :
1. Flash Stock ROM using LGUP (the version of the firmware is not important but the possibility to root is)
2. Install KingRoot and get root
3. Install AutoREC and enter to the recovery
8. Flash Recovery TWRP 3.1.0-2
9. Reboot to the new recovery
10. ADVANCED WIPE (wipe cache, dalvik cache, data and SYSTEM)
11. Flash baseband 21C
12. Flash CUSTOM rom
13. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
14. Flash Gapp
15. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
16. Reboot
I think I did nothing bad...
but the phone does not start and it stays at the initial logo screen (not the LG logo, but the custom rom logo). I waited over 10 minutes to boot but nothing. Even though I install the identical rom again or install an anoter rom, each time the same issue.
This happens with all custom rom (xenonhd, resurrection remix, and now lineageOS)
I can use and boot on stock rom but each time I want to install a custom rom, my phone doesn't want to boot. The phone display stays at the initial rom logo screen.
It seems that I am alone to have this problem.
I don't know why and I search everywhere to find out the solution...
PS : My phone never restart by itself. I never have bootloop with my phone when I using stock rom and same with custom rom..
The problem is the boot with a custom rom. The phone don't want to boot and stay on logo loading...
Any suggestion may be help.
Thank you.
1. Once you installed TWRP you don't have to go back to stock to switch roms. From then on you can just download zips and flash them.
2. You need to delete everything (including system) except internal and external storage ( so you can still flash the zip for xceed, otherwise you will delete it). Remember that you will lose all your apps including your data with it. You can backup them with titanium backup tho. Pictures and video's will still be there as they are stored on the internal or external storage.
3. You also need to flash the GAPPS package after flashing rom, for xceed (7.1.1), pick nano (ARM)
4. Wipe cache and dalvik after flashing and reboot.
5. Make a backup before you do so !!!!!!
Good luck.

Hello,
1. I think that but with specific rom, some people tell us to flash stock rom before flashing a custom rom. eMMC bug related ?
2. Deleting the system changes nothing because the system is wiped when I flash the rom, right ?
3. if the rom boot first then I will install Gapps. Else, I don’t install because the rom doesn’t want to boot.
1. Well .. I've been switching between fulmics, xceed,rr, .. etc without any problem so no, there is no need to go back to stock everytime.
2. Try it, you won't be able to boot until you flash a new rom, but it could help. That's why you take a backup in the first place. It is more 'clean' and if you don't try it you won't know.
3. Sometimes you have to flash gapps directly after the rom or you will be in for a bad time if you do afterwards.
Once you have TWRP recovery installed it's the easiest thing ever to flash a new rom. Make sure your zip files are downloaded okay. Download the MD3 to check it. Try to download via MEGA app or so, because browsers downloads tend to have errors sometimes.
Apart from that. Don't root via kingroot. They have had some suspicious cases where malware was installed on the phone when rooting.
If nothing's works. Go back to full stock through KDZ, root wit your PC, install TWRP via autorec, go to recovery, wipe everything, install modem 21C, install rom and gapps, wipe cache, reboot. Don't try anything other than that.
I have the same problem

Hello,
I have a question.
Can you give me a gapp 100% compatible with all custom rom with android 7.1.2, because i think opengapp are not reliable. Maybe the gapp will cause my issue and the rom won't boot.
Can i use this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...isited-slim-gapps-6-0-7-0-unofficial-t3462088 ?
I always use PICO version of gapp

Do I need to use RemoveForceEnc.zip if I'm flashing a custom ROM?

Currently I'm following this process when I want a super clean flash of a new ROM
- Use Back2Stock script to get stock Motorola Marshmallow
- Flash TWRP
- Flash ROM
- Flash GAPPS
I keep coming back to these steps for one major reason : TWRP will not let me format or erase the DATA or INTERNAL STORAGE partition. This means that if I keep flashing different ROMs through TWRP, there will be junk data piling up in the DATA or INTERNAL STORAGE. But I digress..
I want to know if encryption is removed automatically when I flash custom rom like AOKP or RRemix? Does it depend on the ROM? Or should be including that RemoveForceEnc.zip in my steps?
Apparently those steps also cause my to not have root in my custom ROM.
The new steps I'm running now :
- Use Back2Stock script to get stock Motorola Marshmallow
- Flash TWRP
- Flash Fixed Firmware (marshmallow version)
- Flash SuperSU v2.79-SR3
- Flash ROM
- Flash OpenGAPPS (ARM version)
I'm no expert, but as far as I know you can only encrypt your data partition again from within Android Settings > Security. It won't be automatically encrypted again by simply flashing a new custom ROM.
Perhaps it could encrypt it when you flash stock, which is actually something I'd like to confirm because I removed encryption on my Z Play yesterday and am currently running LOS, so if I eventually flash stock again I wonder if it will automatically encrypt my data partition back.... I'm guessing no, but it's something I'd like to confirm (and/or try later on).
I don't have you TWRP problem, meaning I can format everything on my TWRP (if I go to advanced format I can select all options there and have everything wiped), but I usually simply do wipes on TWRP, then flash ROM, then Gapps, then boot, then install Magisk Manager (from Play store) and root from there.
Confirmed. When you flash stock you're re-encrypted (sad).

Which [Android 8] daily driver to move to from FreedomOS 2.10.4 [7.1.1] ?

Back after a long time.
My OP3
- Freedom OS 2.10.4 [Android 7.1.1]
- BluSpark Recovery v40
On my OP3 I've always been on Freedom OS . Mostly due to
- Being close to stock,
- Debloated
- rooted for ad blocker, cerberus and titanium
However off the late facing lot of issue with network. Frequent drops on VoLTE and 4G networks on both sims. VoLTE sim will often disconnect and I will end with "Dial-> Immediate Call Ended" issue.
=> What would you recommend to use as daily driver ?
Would appreciate if you should add links. Any additional info regarding prerequisites (recovery, firmware etc) will be helpful.
You can try:
1-OxygenOS 5.0.3 with RenderZenith or Derp kernel.(Do not go for open beta OxygenOS builds, they are abandoned.)
2-Paranoid Android 7.3.1(Nougat but it won't upset you)
3-If camera, VoWiFi and OTA updates are not important, OmniDragon.
Everyone's expectations are different. These are just mine experiences.
You should update your TWRP before flashing, i guess it is outdated; PA and OxygenOS contains their own firmware but for OmniDragon you can use Open Beta 39/OxygenOS 5.0.3 firmwares.

Also will I be able to keep custom recovery and root with OxygenOS 5.0.3

According to my experiences, unfortunately LineageOS 15.1 is not a daily driver on SD820 phones. Used it on Mi5 and OP3, both of them suffered with lag, overheating, shuttering, deep sleep not working sometimes (lost apx.%30 battery per night), bad camera quality. It is good rom, but this issues must be solved.
You can keep root and TWRP on OOS. Process:
1-Flash TWRP and boot it.
2-Make the wipes(dalvik/data/cache/system are must, if you want full wipe of userdata you can select internal storage too.
3-Install OxygenOS zip, custom kernel zip(optional) and latest Magisk beta zip(16.7 today).
Reboot and profit.

Thank you for helping with my queries.
So it's just like flashing a custom rom. Also If I wipe internal storage then the ROM zip file will also get wiped. Wonder how do I copy it then?
Last set of queries before I flash this coming weekend
- Whch TWRP ? Latest blu_spark should do ? (I remember blu_spark had specific TWRP for OP3_OP3T
- I remember reading about recovery getting overwritten when flashing OxygenOS.. Will it happen with full rom zip
- Any precautions you would like to suggest ?

Yes, if you wipe internal storage, the rom will be wiped. But you can just copy it from your pc while you are in twrp.
Latest Blu_spark twrp works fine for me. Will work for you too.
If recovery is overwritten, you can just flash twrp again via fastboot. It won't be overwritten then.
I think there was a way that after you can avoid having to fastboot by just installing twrp again right after you have flashed oos rom and then reboot. But I am not quite sure if it works. Maybe someone else with experience can elaborate. Anyways, the fastboot method will definitely work.
@hyperorb , If you flash Magisk right after OOS, your recovery won't be replaced by Oxygen one.
For recovery, you can use Official TWRP or OmniDragon TWRP.
many thanks @qhsusb_bulk @Harsh862
will try wit latest blu_spark first but will also keep others handy. Will not refresh internal storage for now. Maybe once I get a bit comfortable with this part. Will revert once I update.

Step 9 happens to me everytime I flash OOS/OB. I simply wait for the white led to come on, press the Power button for 8+ seconds and phone switches off. Restart in recovery mode and flash Magisk. This time it will install.

how to get back to stock miui from havoc os ??

I am using havoc os 2.6 and want to get back to latest MIUI .
I am unable to find descriptive steps for reverting back to ui
Anyone please help me.
Download MIUI RECOVERY rom from miui website and flash it using custom recovery (wipe data system vendor cache) and u r good to go
I recommend that you do a fresh start. Download latest fastboot ROM (https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/) for the device, then follow this guide https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2 to get the flashing software (skip step 2). Remember to select Clean All only (if you want to lock the bootloader, choose Clean All and Lock). Everything in the phone will be deleted (even internal storage) so make a backup if you don't want to lose your data.
