Question Lost root after system update - OnePlus 9 Pro

Hi. So I rooted my OnePlus9 Pro after I bought it. But few days ago I updated it to Oxygen OS 11,2,3,3,LE15BA
And now I lost my root.
Can someone please tell me what I need to do to regain root access?

You need to install latest Magisk app, get a copy of the latest stock boot.img for your build, patch it and then flash in fastboot. See the Magisk General forum with any questions. https://forum.xda-developers.com/posts/84854149

So I went to this topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-patched-boot-images-for-all-builds.4262015/
Downloaded this
192 MB folder on MEGA
4 files
mega.nz
Which one of those 4 files I need to patch via Magisk and which one do I need to flash via Fastboot?

The first boot.img is stock, the second one is "patched" with Magisk, the last 2 are just hash values used to compare what the value is supposed to compared to what you download to ensure the integrity of the download. So the short answer is if you want root, the second one, "patched" img

The second one that has patched in the filename. You will...
Fastboot boot magisk_patched.img and after boot open magisk and direct install.

If you already rooted, it will be the same process.

First, you need to read a bit more before doing stuff like Rooting, updating when rooted,...
Everything is explained here. Just need to to do a bit of digging so you can confidently do stuff. And when in doubt, ask before doing.
The first sticky thread has all the info you need.
To update when rooted, do THIS. Works perfect.

Follow the directions above, the next time you update the rom, ensure you install the update but do not reboot the phone, then go into Magisk and choose "Install to Inactive Slot (After OTA)", that way your newly updated rom should boot with root already applied. Magisk will then ask to reboot and should do so into the new version.

Thx everyone for the help, managed to do it

Have another problem. Lost my root after I restarted my mobile phone. Anyone knows why?

So I flashed magisk pacthed img in bootloader. After that I need to open Magisk and direct install that same magisk patched img?

Have you read the link I provided?
If yes, and you've done exactly like described, then impossible to loose root.
So, question: what steps have you done?

I hope you "fastboot boot magisk_patched.img" then once booted open Magisk and "Direct Install". You will now be rooted again.

Except it is guaranteed to root lose with the last few updates in Magisk. There is no "Install to inactive slot(After OTA). Lol

Root Blackview A5 Marshmallow

Hi guys,
recently bought this A5 at reasonable price( 50$). It goes fast as any other 4-core brand named device i have seen. But it came with much bloatware such as a search service that somehow i cant stop. I must disable it once a day and then again tsoup! it is on again...Anyway that's why my first thought was rooting the device.
Sometime ago i rooted and old samsung with just a click. But this blackview seems to be solving the circle square. No support, google says little only some russians i can not understand.
So, to end this story i need help to root this device. Flash a modded preinstalled rooted version maybe?
Thanks in advance...
Edit: Managed to root it finally. just flash supersu via twrp(3.03 custom recovery image from needrom site)...8 hours piece of cake ^-^. Thank god for the last beta version 2.79 SR3 201xxx of supersu. All the other version had me to bootloop.
Hi there, please tell me how you did it. Some links to the correct files would be great.
Kind regards, Skyfire

I flashed the recovery.img with sp flash but when I enter recovery mode, twrp doesn't show up...
Instead, the stock recovery mode boots up.
sp flash says that the flash was successfull but it doesn't work out for me...
btw I only flashed the recovery.img. I didn't flash any boot.img or anything else.
any ideas what went wrong?

That's hell of a problem...did u select the scatter file in sp tools? maybe your firmware is different version? if i remember correct there are 3 versions of blackview A5. I have the A5_C1_Blackview_SD_Q20160709. If different then u must find a twrp for your version..Sorry mate
There is a thread over at 4pda with different versions of twrp but the links are all down. Maybe if you find somebody that speaks russian ore use google translate you can get it there.
Today my new A5 arrived and of course I wanted to root it.
But I have a new Build number = A5_C1-Blackview_SD_Q20161010
Also the drivers are not working.
Does anybody ca help me out ?
thx in advance
My build = A5_C1_Blackview_VO.X_20160420
Would this be a good idea...? Or a bad idea...?
If I go into: Settings -> About phone -> Wireless update
There are no OTA updates available... But there is an option to install "Local updates". I can select the "SuperSU" zip but I get warnings about bricking the phone:

So, would this produce desired results? Or brick the phone?
While I'm here, what about installing custom ROMs, eg one of the 6.0.1 ROMs from needrom.com?
helo, i want to root my blackview 5, i already downloaded all files that should be used to preparing the root. but the problem here is all this files and procedures are odd for me. can you screen shoot how to root start at the beginning? tq

Magisk v22

So I have installed new magisk app and I cannot install magisk via recovery. I read magisk installation guide as far as I understand I should patch my recovery image. The problem is my custom rom doesn't have recovery image in it can I use my stock rom's image?
Edit:
Finally solved. Just renamed magisk.apk to zip and flashed it with good old recovery method.
Did you read the guide properly?
Patch the boot image file using the app and then flash the magisk patched boot image using fastboot.
Good luck

Magisk app says I don't have Ramdisk.
Installing Magisk 22 from recovery (OrangeFox 11.0.1) via the rename/flash method results in a bootloop to recovery.
Even when I uninstall Magisk (by renaming the zip to uninstall.zip) I can't boot anymore and I have to reflash rom.
I'm on Redmi Note 8T (willow) with official MIUI global 12.0.2.

Try flashing older Magisk v21.4 first via recovery, that worked for me. Then update it to latest version via the Manager app. For some reason, Magisk v22 is failing on a lot of devices running MIUI 12.
Also, with the manual method, you should patch boot.img not recovery.img. Xiaomi is an exception to NO ramdisk installation method.
I had to tinker a bit more (first time it would still boot to recovery, I had to reflash rom) but I ended up having Magisk 22 installed. Thanks for pointing me to the right direction!

Oxygen OS 11.BE86AA Global Rom and Magisk Boot Files

Hey Guys,
I'm posting a link to the July, 2021 OTA update for OnePlus Nord N10 5G Global Edition (NOT Metro or T-Mobile) as well as boot.img and the patched version. I extracted the boot image from payload.bin and patched with Magisk. I successfully rooted without custom recovery (ie TWRP) and am currently passing both CTS and Basic Integrity. Hi, I'm currently on Pixel Experience. I'd like to get back to Oxygen now that the update is out finally. What is the best course of action with PE/PE's recovery installed right now? Sorry to be a bother, but I've been out of the scene for 5-6 years and am trying to get my bearings again.
yesterday i go back to stock from Pixel Experience, flash with MsmDownloadTool and all ok. Is the same process here?
HI,I cant unlock my BL,after I update your ROM,how to install magisk?
How did you get a hold of the payload.bin? I can't find it on their website.
this update turned my oneplus into a brick after rooting, after not doing anything different with my phone from prior when it was on 10

Just a post that didn't even need to be made then you can get the zip from OnePlus or oxygen updater and boot img from the root n10 post I thought he managed to implement the patched boot.img into zip which is what I was hoping for I have a metro phone on this firmware switched from a modified msm so I was hoping I could circumvent locked bootloader

Question How to upgrade to Oxygen OS 12 Open Beta 3(C36)

Hello everyone, I am using an op9p with unlocked bootloader, and it is running oos 12 open beta2 now. Few days ago, Oneplus published a new update called C36, and I am trying to upgrade to it. However, each time I try to upgrade, I only got an "installation problem. Then I turned to the OxygenOS Updater, but even the update showed a "damaged file". Finally I download a file from the link, and I got a zip called "3a08e6de926493aedc3e04ee8b23476077c5b553.zip", which checksum is just like the pic

The expected md5 checksum in updater is "b121be03d8175bee2da76184a3719211", as you can see, it's different. But its SHA-1 checksum is just exactly equal the file name, so I am not sure about that if I have downloaded the right file now. Also, the local upgrade app can't see this zip.
Is there anyone already upgraded to the OB3? Or somebody can share his upgrade file? Thanks!

Pretty much yes. Unless some one can figures out some solution. I tried flashig stock vbmeta and boot. Still didnt work. This incremental bs is crap. This is probably my last op device...
Download the update.
Download the "Local Update.apk. Run it.
I had a similar problem. From OB1 (rooted) I couldn't get OB2 installed using system update or the local update app. I tried flashing stock boot.img and vbmeta to unroot, but it didn't make any difference. Finally after OB3 came out (I was still on OB1), I reinstalled OB1 full zip using local upgrade app, took the OTA for OB2, then took the OTA for OB3 before rooting again. But now I'm probably stuck like you until the next full update is released (or we have to roll back for stable).
