great work bro!!keeping the device alive

Hello and thanks for making these roms. I recently got this phone so I am very happy to see active development.
I wish to use the phone as a wifi phone only, without a sim or cell service. I have a SIP account setup in the dialer. When I attempt to place a call I get prompted with the emergency calls or SIP account choice, however they are greyed out and cannot be clicked. This same problem I've seen on Evolution X and LineageOS.
With ProtonAOSP the problem doesn't exist. The popup selection comes up and I am then able to click on my SIP account.
Ideally when I select all calls to be routed through SIP it would just ignore the no cell sevice and just dial immediately through SIP.
I do not know if you have any ability to help out with this problem, but I would certainly appreciate it.
Thanks
Steve

Tbh I don't use SIP so troubleshooting isn't easy for me but still I will look into the issue. It might be helpful if you can pm me the adb logcat of the issue on XDA or telegram.

I needed the SIP calling to work so I wiped and flashed back to ProtonAOSP. Although I would much rather run a rom with customizations built in, but SIP calling was a must. I also don't like installing another app when the functionality is built into the OS. I was hoping it would be easy to compare roms, although I have no idea what is entailed.
Thanks for your consideration.

@bravesoul349
Thanks, great stuff!
Especially thanks for sharing your local manifest on github too, this is rare.
However, I've tried to build my own build with your local manifest and got the following error:
Code:
build/make/core/base_rules.mk:325: error: hardware/qcom/sm8150/display/sdm/libs/utils: MODULE.TARGET.SHARED_LIBRARIES.libsdmutils already defined by hardware/qcom/display/msm8998/sdm/libs/utils.
ckati failed with: exit status 1
What confuration did I miss?

Hi All,
Sorry to trouble you on what might appear a really easy/straight forward task. A friend has just given me this phone to mess around with, and I have gone with this rom as it looks really cool. I've been playing around with Android for some time now, and normally don't have any issues with rooting, modding and so on...
However, this is my first A/B phone.... and had a few issues along the way.
1) Stuck with the ole TWRP and encrypted SD Card when adding a PIN in Android OS. I've followed the guides, done the formatting afterwards... However it mentions Magisk... but this is where it goes wrong. If I add magisk, then the rom doesn't boot. I've tried a patched boot.img, flashing the apk via adb... and couple other methods. If anyone has the correct procedure would be ace.
2) Can't find an appropriate boot.img for this rom? Can't extract this one that comes with the OS. Tried boot.img that comes from CrDroid 7.4 (Android 11) doesn't boot. Tried stock factory image boot.img, it boots but then the touch screen doesn't work, meaning phone is useless and have to reflash Havoc again.
3) Is there a way to keep TWRP on permanently or do I have to keep re-flashing it after every rom?
4) With this phone, can you either have one of the other and not both. Do they both occupy the same space. If I flash a patched magisk boot.img. But then flash TWRP zip/img afterwards. Would this wipe the patched magisk boot.img ?
Samsung phones were easier to manage, than the fun I am having at the moment.... a-ha....
Cheers for your help...

Hi, with regards to twrp I only use it via fastboot to boot the twrp.img and then flash what I need after removing all security (pins etc) and then you can flash what zips etc you need to.
With magisk I installed the APK then changed the extension .APK to .zip and then flashed from fast booted twrp and works fine.
With regards to the boot.img you may be able to use payload dumper to extract the boot.img from the havov zip but it's not something I e played with as yet.
I believe that magisk and twrp will occupy the same ramdisk, from memory when I used a pixel 1 they had to be flashed in a certain order like twrp then magisk as twrp would overwrite magisk within the ramdisk.
Hope that's some help.

By downloading and flashing InsertCoin Custom ROM for HTC 10 you agree to the following:
Your warranty is now void.
We are NOT responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
Support is limited. We do this as a hobby in our free time. We'll do our best to help you if you state your problem in clear English, with as much information as you can (what mods you selected, have you wiped, when exactly does the error occur, what type of phone you have (ul, l , ws etc.), what carrier, logcat and so on. The more information you offer, easier for us to help you. If you do not ask for support in clear English and with no information what-so-ever we will ignore your issue!
Leave the self entitled customer attitude at the door. We are under NO obligation what-so-ever to do anything for you. If we do it is because we like helping people. Using custom work published on XDA is not a right, it is a privilege. If you think otherwise please read here. Or watch this video.
NO Requests! When we work on InsertCoin we have in mind that we have to satisfy all users to a decent level. What works for us might not work for you and vice versa . We are not your personal ROM developers and it is not our job nor our intention to make everybody happy.
Do not come here asking "Hey mate, X rom has that awesome feature and if you don't implement it in your rom, I'll <insert whatever here>!" You flashed this ROM because you liked it at some point, if that change please stop using it.
Suggestions for improvements are always welcomed. As long as they are well documented and as long as you understand that NOT everything is possible.
NO ETAs! While we do our best to constantly work on the ROM to improve, *fix and add new features, again this is a hobby! There are periods when due real-life issues we can't spend too much time for InsertCoin! If this becomes an obligation passion fades and we might stop cooking the ROM

Hey guys I know you are just getting up and going ..... but what would be the major differences between this ROM and say for example LeeDroid?

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Frequently asked questions:
I'm on a TEST BUILD and have this bug, can you help?
Please keep any discussion about test builds in the G+ community!
Are you coming from a ROM with Layers?
Make sure you remove your 'overlay' folders and perform a FULL WIPE
My battery stats are all messed and reporting the wrong percentage, what can I do?
Stop using another kernel. Do a FULL WIPE and flash the ROM again
Is this ROM CM based or AOSP based?
This ROM is based off AOSP
Does this ROM have layers or the CMTE?
This ROM uses the CM theme engine
Pulse doesn't work with [insert music app]
Check this thread out https://plus.google.com/101146731143183859725/posts/TcSzc61xuVx
I'm getting a FC from the theme chooser, what gives?
This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.
Thanks to @repey6 for testing on odin!

I honestly think not, DU is not based on CM (it's based on AOSP), it only has CM Theme Engine.

Thanks friend, will do that, I was cautious a bit because I don't own the device, but on yuga it runs just fine so yes, it can go to stable if no major stuff is bad on odin.

Fantastic ROM! Been using it for days without a flaw.
Just the common no sound during calls issue, but got it fixed via Google Play Services permissions.
Thanks!
Amazing speed, battery and looks!
(Deep darkness/material glass theme combination)

All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

wow....so surprised.....must try.
---------- Post added at 03:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:39 PM ----------
it's for 7s only? is 7a supported?
Finally.
I have one problem. Whenever i set my dpi to 560 the time contextual header is not shown even if i enable it. It's not major thing just a heads up. So i use 520dpi.
I only have a 7s so yes only for 7s.
I'll test the 560 DPI issue.
Yes! Finally DU is back!!
I can confirm that this works for the 7a as well, using right now with zero problems. Great work

post updated to reflect that
Firstly I'd like to thank anders3408 for this ROM, I've been looking for a 3rd party ROM for a long time.
So, my Oppo Find 7s was running a "Project Spectrum" ROM with unified LVM storage.
I downloaded the Oppo Firmware package 2.1.5, Stable Version 10.5 ROM, and Banks Gapps. These were stored on my Samsung SD card
Booted into TWRP, did a FULL WIPE, and then flashed Oppo Firmware package 2.1.5, Stable Version 10.5, and Banks Gapps.
Rebooted the phone.
Eventually the phone restarted and I went through the usual setup.
But, it then came up that it had found my Samsung SD card and that an SD card was corrupt.
I looked in settings to find that my System partition was now only 4Gb. I clicked on the Samsung SD card and I set it as internal (not for moving files) and it was formatted as Samsung SD card /ex4.
When I clicked on the corrupt SD card "portable storage" (which should be the remainder of my internal storage), it came up with an error.
It was formatted as sd card /lvm2pv
Any Help to get me back to normal would be greatly appreciated.

When you wiped in TWRP, did you also wipe the raw_data (or something like that) partition ?
Also are you sure its your system partition which is 4 gb ? don't you mean sdcard or data partition?
Hi anders3408,
Yes I believe I must have wiped "raw_data" when I did the Full Wipe.
But I think I'm pretty sure I have it all up and working now.
I found a guide on the Oppo community forum, had to RUN remove LVM script and then reboot, RUN setup LVM script and then reboot. From there I just followed your instructions.
And I'm must say "I LOVE IT"
I'm not usually into lots of customization, but the Dirty Unicorn ones seem "necessary" and with a little tweaking I have a my oppo running the latest version of Android.
Thanks again :good::good:
Tried this ROM today. Noticed two bugs:
1. Toggling the "SELinux: permissive" switch results in black screen. Rebooting won't help, dirty flash doesn't help either. Only full reflash of the entire ROM (with all wipes) solves this issue. Ouch.
2. While there is an option to enable on-screen button bar, there is no option to disable capacitive buttons (or I didn't find one).
Hi, I have the 7s but with new lcd panel. Is the stable version compatible? Thanks.

1) Can't reproduce the SElinux issue. Works fine for me. Which version are you using, weekly or official?
2) You can manually disable hardware keys by this method:
Use a file explorer with root like es or solid.
Go to root of your device > system > usr > keylayout.
Here you'll find Generic.kl
Open it in some editor.
Navigate to key 139, 158 and 172 and put a "#" in the beginning of these lines (without quotes)
Save file and reboot.
For hardware key lights, I disable them using gravity box or "Capacitive Buttons" from play store.

It's not working for me. The screen is completely washed out. Restored backup.
I tried with my find 7s. All is working except the mic for loudspeaker is not functioning. Ppl cant hear me talking in loudspeaker. Everything else working flawlessly. Great ROM.

Hi, I'm back on cm snapshot. I think the kernel for the unified partition was giving me problems. So I'm back on default and skipped the patch. Cm needs much smaller installation space and I can fit all my apps in default.
So, apparently, this rom is working for someone with the new lcd panel.

Seems odd that it works for some and not others.
In general please put all your issues into Jira with logcat if possible. For the guys with LCD issue, please also add a dmesg from a bootup, so I can see what's wrong.

Ill give it a shot. Thanks
Great! Another tom to try.
How's the camera? Notice any shutter lag?
Always nice to try a new rom. I installed the 1st build last night so I haven't tried the latest one yet. Pretty nice, gets a bit warmer I find and man does battery life take a major hit. I went from averaging between 3 1/2-4 1/2 SOT on LOS to struggling to get 2 hours.

That's why I have also taken a distance from PA, because I have not had a good experience. But Yank really did a good job and it's the only Rom that's up to date. I'll see if I can minimize the battery consumption. Thank you for your feedback.

I'm on the second build with your kernel now, after applying Glassfish 1.2 profile in ex kernel and making some other doze adjustments it seems to be a bit better but still not amazing. I do find that my wifi connection is the strongest is been from any rom I've tried on this phone which is nice. What rom are you currently using?
Thanks for this new ROM based under paranoid ...its more updated than original....is there a way to get Oreo ROM for robin ?

I am currently using OmniRom with Unicornblood Kernel. But I never use a Rom for more than a week. I'm just as flashaholic as most people here. And I find out so little by little how things work and I'm constantly testing new things.
Thank you for your feedback. I am glad about every comment. There is not much going on here.

I'm surprised about battery, PA's been a bliss on the OP3t (4-5 SOT is easy to hit, best run was 9+h SOT over a 15h day with still 12% left and all all, 4G, WiFi, BT, high precision GPS...), angler and bullhead at least.
So it shouldn't be the ROM, but rather the device/kernel stuff. If LOS is a lot better, might be worth trying to redo device tree based on theirs.

Yeah I know what you mean, I think the longest I've lasted on a single room is maybe a couple of weeks.
Do you notice a difference between omni with your kernel versus without? I enjoyed using omni when I tested it out but I also had some pretty bad SOT.

You should subscribe to the OmniRom and the CarbonRom thread. I think these are the only real developers here that could do that.

Yes, I know it's not ROM. I also use YAOSP on my bullhead. I also thought about using DU or LOS device tree. I wanted to look at the first builds first how it goes. Thank you very much for your hint. I was very proud when I saw that you had noticed my thread.

I use the combination only for one and a half days now. That's why it's difficult to say. But I think it makes no big difference with the default kernel settings. But you have a lot more options with the kernel.
24 hours with this ROM and everything is running great: Wifi, GPS, FPS, audio are all fine. I haven't noticed any abnormal battery drain but I run without Gapps, only setting K9 and Telegram to not optimize battery so they get notifications.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Bugs :
You tell me
Some Important Points :
Rootless Substratum support is added
OSS Camera hals are used, so front/back portrait and hdr+ works (Recommended @Arnova8G2's Pixel2Mod V6)
Full support for Treble is implemented
Firstly, /factory must be converted to /vendor with the help of this
Next, TWRP supporting /vendor partition must be flashed
Get the Treble enabled TWRP from here
This TWRP can used for flashing non-Treble enabled ROMs too
Then reboot to recovery to flash the ROM
/factory supporting Magisk is no longer needed, you can use official Magisk
