How to reduce battery consumption in the Oneplus 8 Pro. - OnePlus 8 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello everyone, I put a small tutorial to maximize the battery life of our Oneplus 8 Pro. As I describe, I have my unit configured.
If you want you can go reporting in the thread what results your terminals now show you with this configuration. I haven't done any bloatware, just uninstall Facebook and Instagram. Greetings.
1.- DEACTIVATE AUTOMATIC UPDATES.
In this way we will avoid that the mobile is constantly looking for updates and therefore consuming battery.
1.1- We go to the Play Store and in Settings / General / Automatically update applications, we mark "do not update applications automatically".
1.2- Once this is done, we go to the Oxygen OS updates. We follow the path Settings / System / System Updates, we give the little wheel that is at the top right and deactivate “Automatic download in Wifi”.
2.- DEACTIVATE THE WIFI ASSISTANT.
This option allows the mobile to automatically change the network, without us having to be aware of it, but it uses the battery unnecessarily. We are going to configure it to do it manually.
We follow the route Adjustment / Wifi and Mobile Networks / Wifi / Wifi Preferences / Inside we go and deactivate “Select the best Wifi network intelligently”.
3.-DEACTIVATE THE PRINTING SERVICES.
We have these services to connect to printers active all the time and the phone will be constantly looking for printers so that we can connect.
We go to Settings / Bluetooth and device connection / Printing / Default printing services, when pressing it it opens, once inside we deactivate it, we will see that on the screen below, we have a red bar with a text that says "searching for printers" This way we prevent it from being in constant search.
4.- DEACTIVATE EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS.
We follow the route Settings / System / Experience improvement programs and deactivate the first three options:
“Oneplus Notifications”, “User Experience Program” and “System Stability Program”.
5.- BATTERY OPTIMIZATION.
We follow the route Adjustment / Battery / Battery optimization. Click on the three dots on the top right and Advanced Optimization will appear. Once inside we will activate the three options that we find, "Activate adaptive battery", "Optimization of standby at rest" and "Optimize energy consumption of applications".
6.- OPTIMIZATION OF THE GOOGLE ACCOUNT.
We go into Settings, select Accounts and inside we go to the Google account and open it, once inside we choose "Synchronization", we deactivate the following options:
Google Fit data / People data / Drive / Google Play Movies / Save Play Games in the cloud / Tasks in Calendar.
If you use any of these options, do not deactivate it or if you do not use any of the others, deactivate it.
In addition to the above settings I also have the following:
Display, FHD + resolution, dark mode, manual brightness at 85-90%, touch sounds, screen lock sounds, capture sounds, keyboard sounds, all off, vibration off.
In Developer Options:
"Registry Buffer Size", I have it set to 1Mb.
Window Animation Level / Transitions Animation Level / Transitions Duration Level. All three are by default at 1x, I lowered all three to 0.5x.

The online mobile-security service has a neat and user-friendly Web interface, which allows users to issue a variety of remote commands on the computer or another WiFi-enabled smartphone or tablet, using a WiFi or GPS radio or a service provider’s 3G network. It’s absolutely free, and using it is as simple as following the instructions below:
Activate Remote Controls (or Remote Functions for some devices) on your Samsung smartphone or tablet (select Menu > Settings > Location and Security > Remote Controls).
In case you don’t have a Samsung account, sign up for one with your Samsung smartphone or tablet (select Menu > Settings > Accounts and Sync > Add Account > Samsung Account).
If you already have a Samsung account, go to the Samsung Dive website (www.samsungdive.com) and log in using your existing account.
A full list of commands users can expect from the Samsung Dive follows:
Track My Mobile uses Google Maps to pinpoint the location of your device anywhere in the world and allows you to track its movement at 15-minute intervals for 12 hours. You may incur data charges depending on your service provider. At first, I was not able to locate my Samsung Galaxy S2. But after logging out of Samsung Dive, removing my Samsung account on the Note, and adding the account again, tracking worked flawlessly.
Lock My Mobile, : As the command states, locks your device after displaying a customizable message and a mobile number, which can be contacted from your locked gadget. Of course, this window also lets you set up a numerical Unlock PIN code to, well, unlock it.
Ring My Mobile It rings your device for a minute at the highest volume level, regardless of its user-configured settings. This is a great service which can mean the difference between finding your phone or tablet and losing it, provided you are within minutes after misplacing your gadget and it is connected to a WiFi or 3G network.
Call/Message Forwarding It lets you forward calls and texts for your lost device to a specified mobile number.
Call Logs It is a tool that retrieves your call logs from last week.
Wipe Out My Mobile allows you to delete data on external storage devices and SIM cards and revert your tablet or smartphone back to its original state with the Factory Data Reset function.
Unlock My Screen remotely unlocks the screen of your device.
And ? Dive has been out since forever. Angling for RC status are we ? (Yes it's that obvious )

[APP] Data Switcher 2.0

Data Switcher is a simple app that will automatically enable/disable your mobile data connection at user set intervals. The main purpose of this app is to conserve battery by disabling your data connection while the phone is in STANDBY. I have seen around 50-60% decrease in battery drainage per hour(Used to drain at 8-10% per hour, now it's about 1-3% per hour). Results may differ based on data signal.
FEATURES:
- Custom time intervals
- Data Switcher is disabled if charging
- Option to control switching of WiFi
- Log support
- Screen on prompt
- Manual toggle to disable/enable data
NOTES:
- "DS On/Off" toggle - Enables/Disables Data Switcher
- "Log On/Off" toggle - Enables/Disabled Logging. (Log file stored on SD. Filename is "DataSwitcherLog.txt")
- "Data On/Off" toggle - Manually Enable/Disable Data
- "Prompt On/Off" toggle - When On, if Data is OFF when turning phone back on, you will be asked if you would like to turn data ON
- "WiFi Control On/Off" toggle - When On, Data Switcher will control WiFi as well, using the set time intervals.
- "Start Time" - The amount of time before data is disabled AFTER the phone goes into standby
- "Off Cycle Time" - The amount of time to leave data disabled before it will turn back on
- "On Cycle Time" - The amount of time to leave data enabled after "Off Cycle Time" has hit(Check in time)

CHANGELOG:
v2.0
- UI Changes
- Added "WiFi Control". Data Switcher can now control switching of WiFi.
- Data Switcher will NOT attempt to "Check In" if there is No Service.
- Data Switcher will automatically be disabled if there is a headset plugged in. This is to prevent Data from switching off in the case you are streaming audio.
How does this app compare to Juice defender? I currently use that app and sometimes find it slow and laggy. It is sometimes slow to restore data when turning screen on. Just a thought. Thanks for your help !

I created this software that can merge the traditional desktop and new home screen of Windows 8

The application is responsible for making up the new home screen of Windows 8 (with dynamic thumbnails) and the traditional Windows desktop in the same window. This fusion avoids having to switch from one to the other at all times.
Using the options you can choose to set automatic shutdown while restoring the original appearance of the home screen. Useful if you enable the option to see the home screen when the program starts (combined with oblytile) you can have your personal space as an example for your games, software ...
Advanced mode allows you to set the home screen where you want on your desktop and the size you want.
Latest Version::
2.0
Changelog:
2.0 :
-Graphic change
-Advanced mode recording with a preference
-And new tab with options for various settings to make combination
For example:
click software -> displays StartScreen -> start a game -> software that closes itself and you can restore the size if you want StartScreen
Old :
-First apps with basic graphic and advanced setting. No more options.
Download:
here
This software is in english. Windows 8 32/64 RTM (i not tested in other windows 8 ...)
Is it also working on Windows RT?
I do not have windows RT to test above. You can always try, if it works I put it is compatible
I just tried it on my rt and do nothing. it stay in the task manager for 1 sec and then vanish.
I was looking for something that would let me keep my taskbar in the start screen. Thank you very much for this!
Your Sourceforge page says it's GPL'd, know where I can get at the source at?
Awesome work! Loving it!
Fantastic app, I appreciate the work. Got any new features you going to bake into this soon?
Personally, I'd love it if we can make the Modern screen stick to the desktop and not disappear when I click out of it. Is this possible?
Thanks,
This is a rather nice idea.
Is possible.
I'm not saying I'll do it.
But if I do it it will be in one week, or more.
I keep having a problem using it, When I press start it does this (look to the right)
Location of start screen: Fullscreen + Taskbar
I is not implemented when the taskbar is on the left, right and top (for the next update probably).
Otherwise to settle your problem, you go to the advanced menu and you do the adjustment manually.
You can save the adjustment.
That way you can return to the basic menu selection and you lose another location you your adjustment.
Like that you can switch from one to another for further facilitates and load your adjustment.

[APP] SideSqueeze 2.08 - add squeeze gestures to your S9!

What is SideSqueeze?
SideSqueeze is an innovative and unique app that uses the barometric pressure sensor in your device to detect squeezes and screen presses. It is compatible only with Samsung Galaxy devices from 2017 onwards, although some people have reported varying degrees of success with Pixel devices.
What It Does
SideSqueeze gives your S8/S9/S10 series Galaxy the ability to respond to squeezes, double squeezes, triple squeezes, quadruple squeezes, long squeezes, and/or inertial squeezes, as well as force presses on the screen. For example, you can double squeeze your phone to activate Google Assistant...or maybe you'd like to quadruple squeeze to toggle auto-rotation. And now with Tasker integration, you can even create elaborate tasks to do just about anything and trigger them with any type of squeeze! SideSqueeze's new modular GUI allows you to pick and choose what you want to do with ease.
Features (not all available in trial version)
7 detectable squeeze types (single, double, triple, quadruple, long, long double-squeeze, and inertial)
3 detectable press types (single, long, and 2-finger)
Independently selectable criteria allow you to assign multiple actions to any trigger type (if lockscreen open, if homescreen open, if camera open, if S-Pen detached, if within 5-seconds of power on, if the phone is ringing, if in-call, or if screen is off)
New app picker to launch any app of your choosing
Tasker integration to launch any task of your choosing
Quick Settings tile to toggle detection engine
Wide selection of common actions, such as flashlight toggling, status bar toggling, etc
Adjustable pressure thresholds
Calibration assistant to customize SideSqueeze to your device's unique characteristics
Efficient detection algorithm that is designed to be as lightweight and low-power as possible with no significant impact on battery life
Questions?
See the in-app Help section for answers to commonly asked questions.
Where do I get it?

Version 2.07 (just released to the store last night) offers better reliability and faster response-time, especially when "Disable baseline verification" is set (checked) on the settings panel (go to the About or Help tab, tap the gear icon on the top-right corner). Also, SideSqueeze is on sale for $1.99 through July 13th!
I'm interested, but no comments here or feedback on the Play Store since July is concerning.
Thought this type of thing needed specialised hardware built into the phone don't understand how this would work properly.
