Question Cannot connect 5g netwrok - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

I bought POCO F3 from aliexpress and it support the 5g band for my country as per the seller . But unfortunately i cannot connect to 5g.
It is currently on global rom. So i hope all the advertised bands are enabled. Did any one else face this same issue?
Is there any solution for this?
Will i be able to connect 5G if i install eu firmware. I'm still watitng for my bootloader waiting period to expire though...

What is your Poco F3 model number? If you have global version then these should be supported: https://cacombos.com/device/M2012K11AG . If you like, please send your device log https://cacombos.com/contribute so could check supported bands and combinations.

Device model is M2012K11AG as attached. I'm trying to figure how to generate the log file.
Also thanks a lot for replying...

Your provider SIM has to be 5G validated, hence you pay for that.

No need.. You are SIM enabled. OK

Is there any engineering menu or something where i can check what all bands are enabled in my phone. Or any other solution that i can try?

Xiaomi doesn't have Carrier Policies to restricted bands / combinations outside from China so all bands and combinations enabled listed here: https://cacombos.com/device/M2012K11AG . Just 5G

Another strange thing is checked my speed via speed test app and the resulting speeds are definitely not 4G . I got as much as 640Mbps downloads...

As I see from ur screenshot, u use Wi-Fi not mobile data (looks like u don't even have a SIM in ur phone, so u can't have mobile data connection). So, those speeds are from ur wireless connection not mobile data connection (4G/5G).

Lol... I understand you mate. But the screenshot were taken later. As i was just experimenting with different network provider. If you look closely at the results, it even mentions LTE in the left where my speeds are mentioned.
Btw i hope I'm right in assuming that those cannot be LTE speeds and surely 5g...

Nope, ur not right. LTE on ur screenshot is from the name of the server u choose. Look at ur status bar of ur phone....only Wi-Fi connection is enabled (btw, if u don't have a SIM inserted in ur phone, u can't have mobile data -4G/5G available on ur phone).
PS- I thinks ur confused about 4G/5G (which is mobile connection) and 2,4GHz/5GHz bands (which is Wi-Fi - ur router connection).

Like i said bro, the screenshot was taken later when i removed the sim. I did the test when i was connected on LTE.
The screenshot shows result for multiple test which were conducted earlier in time.
Anyways, i inserted the sim again and did the test once more so here it goes...
Also, i would like to know if i am right in assuming this is not LTE speed..
Have a great day... Cheers

I got it now....it's 4G speed (as status bar shows) and, most probably, with 3 inter-band carrier aggregation.

great way to test if your device support 5G band is forcing your router to advertise one if your can see the SSID being advertise and you can connect to it that means it support 5G

Anyone has VoLTE on EE or Three UK?

Live in Edinburgh and just got my OP3. After put Three and EE sim cards into phone, I can't find "enhanced LTE" option in the setting menu. Does it means that VoLTE is not supported on EE and Three?

Yes, I can confirm that VoLTE and WiFi calling doesn't work on EE.
On Three you can probably use their app for VoLTE and WiFi calling (if you are not rooted).
Hi there. I can connect to the 800MHz LTE on the Three network, however there is no option for me to use native VoLTE or VoLTE via their InTouch app at all.
I doubt we'll see VoLTE natively on this device, but there may be a chance that a future update to inTouch would let it work there, but damn I hate their app.

You can use this app to see your signal type: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wilysis.cellinfolite
Or use the dialer and use *#*#4636#*#* to view additional signal information.
It's somewhat of a guessing game also. I only get LTE signal here if its 800MHz as they recently rolled it out.
I have LTE on Three, but not VoLTE.
I also hate their awful app.

I'm trying to get VoLTE working with 3 on my OP3 too. From what I can tell, we need the APN settings for the 3 IMS APN. Damned if I can find these listed anywhere though. If somebody has an official 3 phone with working VoLTE then we can copy it off there.
I'm wondering if the Enhanced 4G voice option will show in settings when a compatible APN is detected? Other people seem to have VoLTE working on their OP3 (looking at posts on xda), but I'm not sure if they're using the stock rom or not.
The issue is that EE/Three really have no incentive to support the OP3 because they don't sell it.
Same goes for all UK networks none of them will enable VoLTE on the OnePlus 3
Just want to bump this thread as 3G coverage is rubbish around my home area. For some reason I only get 4G and am not able to get 3G. I have to use the Three In touch app to even receive calls
I'm interested too. My wife and I are both on three UK. She gets VoLTE on her Xiaomi Mi5 Pro but I don't see any options at all on my OP3

How do you get VoLTE on that? According to gsmarena it doesn't support band 20, and as far as I know Three only has VoLTE on band 20? It would be interesting if you could let me know if a) Three are now running VoLTE on band 3 too, or b) It actually does support band 20. Here's the gsmarena page: http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_5-6948.php
Thanks!
I've no idea. We were just sat in a pub and she asked me what the VoLTE in the status bar meant. Sure enough the icon was there and she gets it quite often
If you're on EE you probably won't get VoLTE; they're having trouble supporting the S7 so the OnePlus 3 is pretty much a lost cause. I know that kinda sucks for you guys on the better performing network
Three are more likely to; they support a lot more phones on VoLTE and are generally a lot more Android friendly than EE (EE always release Android updates very late, and everything is given to iPhones first).
But I'm obviously just guessing here, until VoLTE is more mature in the UK it's likely VoLTE support will be the complete mess it is now with only major phones getting it.
Hope that helped

why would you want 3g if you can get 4g ?
Last time I checked with Three they told me that only some phones approved/sold by them support VoLTE.
A few months ago they whitelisted the Oneplus 2 to use VoLTE though their app. The Oneplus 3 is not supported yet (not sure if it will be in the future).
Sorry. If you don't know voLTE (on the three network) only works on 800mhz, which only works on 3 carrier bought phones. 3G is the only way you can call apart from that, and as I already said, my area does not have 3G coverage.

Unlocking 4G service on n910p Outside the USA

Hi
i have a couple of questions here , how can i access USB settings on n910p
cyanogenmod rom 5.1.1
becuse i want to try this on it .
and i want to know is the phone hardware locked when it comes to the frequency it supports ?
becuse we have LTE B3 (1800) in my Country , and the phone supporte LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 12(700), 17(700)
so i want to try and unlock the 4g service if it's possible.
Let me give you an insight about your query...
1. I'm too using an unlocked N910P with a GSM SIM like you where the 4G bands present in my country are not supported by this phone's hardware.
2. I've tried the post that you are referring to in the past but wasn't able to do anything because the software QSPT couldn't find my phone. Tried several times but with no success.
3. You can access USB Settings using Iodene Tools or Galaxy Tools. It has now become a paid software so the developer has removed it from XDA. (Search on XDA to find some threads related to it. You might get help from someone).
In short, it's almost next to impossible to unlock the bands as there's a high possibility that some tempering must have been done with the motherboard to unlock it, especially if the phone you got came with some Chinese firmware on it.
You can always try to check if it works for you or not.

Thank you for your explanations. I have something to ask.
I bought N910P. It was on Lollipop and 4G/LTE network was fine. But then I upgraded to Marshmallow via Odin. And now, there's only 3G with setting already to 4G/LTE. What is this problem related to?
Thanks.

See, the 4G icon that you witnessed after purchasing N910P was just a false indication. In reality, the network was 3G. Even when I got this phone, it was on Lollipop and it used to show 4G and the funny part was that I wasn't even using 4G then.
I've seen many users getting confused regarding this matter.
The only option available is that the network providers of your country start 4G services in the band that is supported in US (which again is highly u).

That 4G icon you were seeing was just HSPA+ but not actually 4G. If you see LTE then you can assume that you are on actual 4G.

No 4g at all !

Hello every one I just got new sealed op3 , the old phone was Htc one m9 plus , I used to get 4g connection everywhere .
Now after using op3 I never get 4g connection I only get H sign means 3g ! .
Here some info
I have the correct info for APN and the network is "zain jordan"
Same sim used to get 4g
My mobile model is A3000 , and software is oxygen 3.2.7 Android 6.0.1
I checked my mobile on gsmarena for the frequency and checked my operator frequency and they match (2100) should work !
I contact OnePlus fb page they didn't give me straight answer.
When I go to cellular network setting and search manually I only get 2g and 3g networks for the 3 operators in our country.
What's the problem and what can I do ?
The cellular customer service asked me a simple question , if you put the sim in another phone will you get 4g ?
I said yes
They said : your phone problem ...
Help please XDA
I wish I had an answer to your exact issue but I do not....
However I had a similar issue on US ATT. Put the sim in never got 4G/LTE only 3G and I went to ATT thinking a new sim would fix issue. It did not.
So I said what the hell, left the sim in and did a factory reset of the phone. When it came back up I have 4G to my surprise. Prior to that I changed APN, had ATT give me a custom APN and reset APN on their end....no luck. Factory reset did it and I did not want to do it since it would wipe my data....but finally doing it worked.
My $0.02
Are you with AT&T? If yes look online and you'll find guides and hope to get 4G.
Have you tried restarting your phone? It's stupid but I couldn't get 4G before I did.
As soon as I got my new OnePlus 3, I was not getting 4G in my region either. I had just the same problem as you.
First I got in contact with my carrier, but nothing they could do, as they said the problem was on my end.
After messing around a lot, with all possible network and APN configurations and not getting any results, I got in contact with OnePlus customer support, to no avail either, as they could not find any explanation if not for problems with my carrier.
And then, one of these days, no update or anything relevant at all, it just started showing the LTE icon. The phone did not receive any updates in the meantime, I did not change any connections settings, literally nothing on my end changed at all.
The problem just fixed itself it would appear.
I had the same Damn issue. Make sure the writing on your box's label is in English. I finally figured out I had the Asian version of the phone. Was nit compatible with usa 4g lte bands
Try entering:
*#*#4636#*#*
in the dialer. Go to Phone Information and make sure the preferred network type is set correctly.
When I received my OP3, it was originally set without LTE.
Guys the problem for me is my device model is a3000 and not supported by my carrier frequencies .
I didn't know about this and I must get a3003 .
So it's dead end . That's what OnePlus told me.

Where did you buy it from?
If you are not able to get it replaced by the seller, I am afraid that it will be curtains for 4G. No point in blaming OnePlus if you have not directly bought it from them.
Go to "SIM Cards" settings and Choose "Preferred SIM for Cellular Data" as your 4G SIM.
If your 4G is VOLTE, it should be selected as preferred Data Network in order to get network.

Question Samsung F62 slow mobile internet speed

Hello, So mobile internet (airtel 4g) is very very slow in this phone. But with the use of netmonster app by toggling network bands, I'm able to get atleast some speed out of my internet. I thought issue would be absence of carrier aggregation software support by samsung in the phone even though it has Note 10 chip & 8x bands. But NO, my old phone Oppo Reno 2Z also doesn't have carrier aggregation but it's mobile internet speed is pretty fast, even while sharing data as tethering Hotspot for PC its pretty fast with the same airtel 4g network.
I'm totally fedup with this and only option now is to just sell the phone, but i don't want to do that right now. Are there any fixes for this issue or its the same issue with every F62? Any chance of possible fix in future?
Thank you.

this is the main bug in our one ui 3.1 build. CA is not yet implemented in this device as you already know. as u said, use netmotster app and test several bands via speed testing. even I faced network issues in this device, but netmotster and flashing the new firmware solved my issue.

Question 5G status bar icon lying

Is there a way to show the TRUE network type your connected to on the Pixel 6 Pro in the status bar? Mine almost always says 5G, but when I check with SignalCheck Lite, it's actually connected to LTE on AT&T bands B12, B66, etc. I've only ever seen it actually connected to 5G-NR once in SignalCheck. It's quite deceptive of Google to have the phone show your connected to 5G when your actually not.
I'm certain it's due to your carier not Google.

I believe your carrier controls how your mobile data is displayed. I'm on AT&T and in certain areas, I get "5G E" even though it's not really 5G at all. I'm just using that as an example.
5GE stands for '5G Evolution,' and it all started with AT&T. The US telecommunications company began promoting the term back in 2018 to separate itself from its competitors in the 5G race. AT&T claimed that with this upgrade, users could reach a network speed of 400 Mbps in areas with coverage.

it's not where you buy it per say. your sim is tied to a carrier and when inserted in your phone will download some carrier specific software. most carriers 'lie' about networks. AT&T for example calls their latest 4G LTE '5G' on device and in promotional ads. also keep in mind not all 5G is equivalent and all carries denote them somewhat differently.

Ironically Google is one of the only OEMS (that i know of) that displays a more accurate signal bar, other OEMs boost it.
