Most of convolvers are outdated, the best you can do is to go on the viper4android telegram channel, contact Thomas de Witt and pay 4 euro for a personal convolver for your headphone. Or you can do it yourself but it requires some solide knowledge. There are too convolvers from stormviper, a modded viper4android but the creator is a little strange and you have to ask them personally and do a "review" for the creator to get the last convolvers (testing purpose I guess). They have a telegram channel too. You can still find pack on Google but it's old. Sorry for my English !

Those irs files are overrated, I personally like the same settings on all of my headphones. I like moderate gain, set to inf, I love level 3 surround sound, dynamic system high end v1 at 20 percent for bass, clarity 12db or 14.8db it depends. That's my perfect settings for Bluetooth, headphones don't require so much gain. You can also search Google fiio fh5 github or IRS file and it used to find the github for those headphones I can't seem to get it anymore. There honestly nothing special they make headphones sound worse really

Global IRC, indeed, but the creator of viper4android can create a custom one based on your specific headphone and just for your headphone. Therefore, the quality is a another world from basic irs. The one you find free today are old and so, they make more bad than any good.

I don't believe the version I'm running from the thread in link above has Surround, Headphones and Bluetooth options.

It's switch automatically, just connect your headphone

The creator of viper doesn't do anything anymore. The team Dewitt isn't the creator he's just using the open source code for the Normal driver because the viper creator won't allow him access to super quality driver from 2.3.4 my choice. No those custom IRS files are junk I have the fiio fh5 iem and the IRS files they made it makes my headphones sound wimpy. Trust me find the settings you like on viper and a good pair of headphones like my personal favorites are Master and dynamics MW08 Bluetooth.

I tried to install it but I have a I/o error, from what I read I have to change the name of a file inside vendor/etc but I can't because of permission, could you tell me how did you do that ? Thx !

I installed everything over magisk.
First Ainur Narsil and Audio modification library then reboot. After that viper then open viper and install the driver. The device will reboot. In magisk deactivate both Ainur and AML then open viper again. Driver should reinstall again. After reboot it should work. Could be that you have to enforce in settings. In a link above there is this method mentioned.

It's going to seem like a lot of work but it's not. Your just going to download magisk files. First thing first you have root and I'm hoping your willing to switch your kernel to permissive mode? You can either do that with permissive v2 magisk module or selinux app. You need to have busybox from magisk installed.
Download 2.3.4 apk
1 switch selinux to permissive
2. Install BusyBox from magisk
Than reboot first
3. Install viper4android v4.4 on magisk manager use volume buttons to pick 2.3.4 install as a user app and if show recommended audio fix hit yes.
Reboot the device and see install the apk 2.3.4 and it should have the driver already installed.
If that doesn't work than you add James dsp magisk module new verison on magisk manager
Than flash audio modification file v4.0 after that
If you reboot again and reinstall the app and hopefully the driver will stick if it doesn't flash 4.4 zip again and reboot and install the apk.
You have to always reinstall the apk because the viper zip uninstalls it and it doesn't ever add it back likes supposed to but the driver stays installed and when you install the app shouldn't be no errors. You will need to grant storage permission for viper4android app.
It seems like a lot but it's really not and once it's installed properly it never uninstalls.
James dsp allows viper to play on phones for some reason but you can turn it off and just use viper that's what I do

But just one last question subsiste, how I'm sure it's the super quality driver that is installed and not high quality or energy saving?

Always, much better than Dolby, AudioFX and others that I tested.
The "codecs" most important is DDC/Kernel (.vdc and .irs).
When I install them in 2019 liked ClearPlus HD.irs and V4ARISE.vdc.
It's a little hard to set up (Viper and set presets) but when you learn is easy do the same for all headphones.
Maybe it could help.
I recommend you remove that older process installation because you don't need to change SELinux from Enforcing to Permissive (insecure).
In Magisk
1. Install Audio Compatibility Patch (v2.3)
2. Options: Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, Yes, Reset.
3. Install Audio Modification Library (v4.0), reboot.
4. Instalar Viper4Android FX Legacy v4.4 (v2.5.0.4)
5. Options: Vol +, Vol-, Vol-, Vol +, Reset.
6. Install the JamesDSP module.
7. Disable any native system / ROM equalizer.
Install Viper4Android FX app (v2.6.0.6, Jan/2019) via github or backup
Option: find out him here or Magisk folder (use any root explorer for that).
Path: /data/adb/Modules/Viper (old app)
For newest V4A app use search or Rose.
Choose driver 2.5.0.4, install, restart.
So open the player.
Open Viper4Android FX app, try to apply some profile. Close and open the app if necessary.
Your Headphone need to be plugged.
NOTE: Don't forget to disable other features sound installed on your ROM like stock equalizer (AudioFX, Dolby and other).
To work correctly the Driver Status screen must be:
Driver Version: 2.5.0.4
NEON Enable: Yes
Enable: Yes
Status: Normal
Audio Format: Supported
Processing: Yes
Sampling Rate: 48000
NOTE2: The Viper4Android folder saves the profiles in the root of the internal memory and they need to be replaced in case of Internal Storage was formatted.
I upload the files (older .apk and DDCs/Kernel) on my Mega
18.21 MB file on MEGA
mega.nz
There is some perfis that I did for my headphones (JBL, Xiaomi, Bluedio, Phillips and KZ). You can try them and use it as based to fix all what you need.
Change it to others device you will need just set "Master Gate (limiter)" to 0dB on Alioth.
All them was set for Gemini (this need to be Output Gain -8.0 db).
NOTE3: I prefer the older version and older design. Just the older design app works with the folder "Profile" on .zip without any conversion files.
The new layout migrates the folder "Profile" to "Preset" on new material design. This is not compatible.
NOTE4: Maybe just AML + FX Legacy or 2.7 + JamesDSP is enough. You can remove James app after installed his Module.

Does't work and duplicate profiles (older profiles, if you don't migrate will works idem).
As I said, I tested both and the most stable is Driver Version: 2.5.0.4 and Viper4Android FX app v2.6.0.6.
Doing it correct, you can allow quality more than 200% compared without it.

[Lollipop] Sound mod - Viper4Android [SOLVED]

Hello there,
I already searched but found nothing at all.
Is there any sound mod compatible with stock Lollipop (LRX21P)?
I tried an universal DSPmanager zip found on the N5 forum and the lollipop version of Viper4Android (also found on N5 forums), but with no results (quality/volume/effects don't change with options on/off). I can confirm that they don't work.
Thank you very much for your help, it would be very appreciated (the earphones I bought are too bass oriented and listening music is awful!).
I'm updating this thread because I solved my question. Viper4Android is now working on my stock Lollipop rom (on Flo).
Steps (root and custom recovery needed, update to last version of SuperSU)
1) Download the file linked below (V4A Lollipop "beta" version, taken from N5 thread) - the zip removes MusicFX and DSP if you have them (lucky you, because I hadn't)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3018995&d=1416178083
2) Change kernel to Permissive using SELinuxModeChanges app from Play Store
3) Install Busybox if you don't have it already
3) Go to developer settings, UNCHECK "Use NuPlayer"
4) Reboot to recovery and flash the V4A file
5) Clear cache
6) Reboot, open the V4A app, install drivers (from up-right menu), then reboot again
7) Set the V4A settings the way you like them*
8) Profit! Disable specific-app EQs in the single apps, and use V4A EQ instead.
Sound is waaaaay waaaaaay better now. Can calibrate sound on my earphones, finally.
Thanks for posting your fix! Gonna give it a try now.
Awesome! Just what I was waiting for. I been looking all over but apparently missed this one. I am going to try this now.
Pffffff Viper4android working again on my N7 lollipop . Very important, thanks for this info.
Now the question is: is it bad / harmful to use my Nexus 7 with the kernel in Permissive mode?
Verstuurd van mijn Nexus 7
but are your IRS convolver files working? because it isn't for me.

5.1.1 + Viper4Android

tried IRS below to test it out and it worked great back on KitKat
SRS Audio HD [SRS GEQ - Acoustic + SRS TruBass - 50% + SRS Dialog Clarity - 50%]
I finally updated to lolipop, i have V4a working except the IRS file isn't being detected.
Beats Audio for example works just fine, but nothing changes when i go to the SRS irs above.
Any advice? I've posted in nearly every V4a thread i could find and i keep getting told to reach out to maker of IRS file :\
Device: Nexus 7 2013
OS: 5.1.1.
Rom: Optipop
Kernel - Elemental X
SElinux - permissive
No other audio processors installed
BusyBox on rails installed and ran
Media Player: Power amp.
Prior on Kitkat, i had to install it as a user app, and then use the banned app to move it to system\app in order to get all IRS files to work. IRS files are crucial to me because i use my N7 2013 in dash in my car.
On lolipop, no matter what method i use (whether i install apk, move apk to system\app or flash viper4android zip files), i can get it to process audio under poweramp, but irs files aren't being truly recognized (some are)
Any suggestions?
P.s. - i have been using the following two zips from these threads :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...-viper4android-lollipop-t3075794#post60588642
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/discussion-viper4android-t2543796
as well as the apk from the official site.
EDit: read the last 3 pages, I will try the APK method on it's own as a user app, will report back.
Edit: installed 4.x apk , installed drivers , set my settings, rebooted, used the "banned" app to move to system app. Convolver IRS files work flawlessly, and i have to set it to compatible mode, but now i have constant popping in audio :\
What version of SELinux Mode Changer are you using?... I had issues getting the latest version (3.01) to work. I went back to SELinux Mode Changer 1.2 and Viper4Android FX v.2.3.4.0 to get it to work on my N7 2013. It does not boost the volume up that much, but it provides better clarity at a higher volume. I'm running Viper on "Stock" LP 5.1.1 rooted.
Edit: Also try testing using a different player and check the Driver Status under Viper.'s setting to check if it's processing.

I used version 2.0.2
It worked fine in changing it (latest one didn't).
Also, it's processing, it's the Convolver and IRS that isn't.

bump!
interesting turn of events, i used the lolliviper zip above in the links, and then moved it manually back to user app but left the preinstalled drivers and audiopolicy included in the zip in the system files.
v4a disappeared, okay no biggie, reinstalled the apk from the official site, settings were all there, drivers were already installed from prior installation. Poweramp works, all irs files work, no cracking or popping.
What a complicated route to take to make sure all irs files and poweramp to work, but the audiopolicy is key, i can upload it for those who are interested to decipher for me what i cannot specifically

Arise Sound Systems, Divine Beats Gaana Edition, Biohazard... all work but need SE Linux to be permissive and Busy Box too. The links are in the OP. Please read the OP of the post before commenting. We can't directly share file links, XDA Rules mate.

Which Busybox did you download, and did you open the app to install Busybox as tywinlannister suggested?
Also, what error are you getting, you didn't mention if the error was with Viper or with Busybox?

Try downloading/flashing the Viper4Arise Swansong build from the ARISE thread linked by tywinlannister. It's a big clickable SwanSong™ under the 'Meet the Arise team' section on the opening post. You may also find the main ARISE Google+ page a useful resource (e.g. here's someone else with the same error. https://plus.google.com/111150029808118208419/posts/VP2NjJ6hEYc Have a look through the 20 or so comments and see if there's anything helpful in that - ignore the off topic comments towards the end).
Also, check you've got audio_effects.conf and vendor_audio_effects.conf in /system/etc using a root browser. See this post by the ARISE team on their Google+ page. https://plus.google.com/+JasonPasch5/posts/AYUSSo5mG9t

The issue is probably with Viper not getting Storage permissions. I/O is to do with input and output of data transfer on a peripheral device, which is what makes me think it's that.
See if it has it under Apps > Vioer4Android > Permissions > Storage
It's a wild guess based on logic - could be wrong. Let us know if it works. See if you need to flash another zip. Sometimes that uses to fix issues for me. I always used Viper4Arise not Viper4Android...

Swansong (Viper4Arise)
I have installed SwanSong and the sound is amazing. SwanSong have an aroma interface and it will be easy for you to install it with all the guides inside the installer. Here are the steps I have done to install it (Same as provided by @tywinlannister).
1. Install the BusyBox app and also install BusyBox inside it.
2. Set SELinux to be permissive. (This is important, but you can do it during the installation of SwanSong).
3. Flash Arise Sound Systems zip from the link https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=151719
(Click Aroma & look for ARISE+Deuteronomy+2.94+Modular+AROMA+Installer.zip)
4. Reboot to system.
5. Configure the mods.
6. Reboot again.
This is the recommended setup from the developer itself while flashing SwanSong in Aroma. (Thanks to guitardedhero)
I would recommend Core (mandatory, if not already installed), ViPER4Arise™ 2.5.0.5, Profiles, Arkamys™, ICEsound™, Skip Config and Preset, MusicFX (unless you know it's already installed, this script will leave an existing MusicFX installation intact and end, just in case), permissive (do not, if Enforcing Mode is preferred), Repair SD Card Permissions (allow up to 3-5 minutes of additional time for this script).
Once booted:
Android Settings > Apps > Menu > Show System > Arkamys > Enable Phone Permissions
Android Settings > Apps > Menu > Show System > ViPER4Arise > Enable Storage Permissions
Open ViPER4Arise™ and select Audiophile™ X profile from the Load Effect Profile option in Menu.
On displayed output tab:
Master Power > Off
Master Power > On
Menu > Device Status
Should show Enabled, Normal, and Processing: Yes (at least during audio playback for some scenarios)
If you want to select ViPER4Arise™ through a media player's Equalizer option (not necessary, recommended for users that prefer to get to ViPER4Arise™ through a media player rather than launch the app from Recents or App Drawer):
Android Settings > Apps > Menu > Show System > MusicFX > Disable
Reboot for good measure.
Hope it will help for you. If anything bad happens, just dirty flash your rom (only wipe cache and dalvik) and everything will be good. :good:
NB: There will be a lot of modules during the aroma installation which you can skip (Toolkit, Dolby Plus, Dolby Atmos etc) if it is not mentioned in the recommended setup. Its your choice. Enjoy a crystal clear sound from the great developers.

[AOSP PIE , Q & Miui11 Pie Vince ]Dual Speaker SoundMod For Redmi 5 Plus (vince)

Salam and hello everyone, ive edited mixer_paths_mtp from oreo 8.1 and made a magisk module for Dual Speaker SoundMod (vince) [AOSP PIE ONLY] .
read carefully, [AOSP PIE ONLY!!!]
check #2 post for latest AOSP Pie , AOSP Q and Miui11 Pie Vince updates
first flash magisk module.
(if dual speaker not working for you after reboot, proceed manual steps below)
then
paste manually the edited mixer_paths_mtp.xml into root/system/vendor/etc - using root explorer/mixplorer or other file manager
(copy the original mixer_paths_mtp.xml from root/system/vendor/etc to sd card or anywhere you like, rename the edited mixer_paths_mtpMODI.xml to mixer_paths_mtp.xml
then copy and paste it into root/system/vendor/etc. change permissions to 644 (rw- r-- r--), after that reboot your phone.)
try listen to the dual speaker.........
*its working for me, tried on latest PE and Havoc 2.7
*forgot to mention, i also flashed audio modification library too. (download from magisk) if dualspeaker already working for u guys just ignore.
Please try and give me feedback.
also careful on the volumes for u guys that
already got audio enhancer such as viper/dolby etc. installed.
your phone, your risk
Thank u very much...

VIPER4Android FX v 2.7.1.0
i can share mine. ive added with my 4 viper profiles in it, so u can just choose which profile for speaker, headset, usb or bluetooth that suits u after installed.
-download the link below
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-bH1CILCTxt0o0Gxi-mm7GhfIoWIPPbS/view?usp=drivesdk
-extract it in internal storage
-go to magisk, search viper4android fx version 2.7.1.0 and flash that or download here
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-ewer6lRMSOMPzq1issS520rJEr3QCsZ/view?usp=drivesdk
or zackptg5 website https://zackptg5.com/android.php
-after that find viper4android.apk in apps drawer. install it, grant root access, install driver and it will autoreboot.
-after rebooting your device, open viper4android.apk again and click speaker. choose any of 4 profiles there. i recommend the kustom or kustom dolby system bcoz the original dolby system too loud (for me). so i edited and create the kustom profile.
-load the profile. done.
(u can play song while u load the profile too, to check and choose which profile suits u. same goes for headset, usb and bluetooth.
if u want to add more profile, paste it in the
internal > viper4android > profile. )

* just a little guide to make sure your dual speaker working...
-the original mixer file size for aosp pie is 62.48kb, the file ive edited is 63.71kb, so if u see your mixer_paths_mtp.xml in root/system/vendor/etc is 62.48kb apply manual method again and reboot. u need to have the 63.71kb mixer_paths_mtp.xml file in root/system/vendor/etc to make your dual speaker working. hope this will solve your "not working dual speaker issue".

Remove whatever you installed completely. If there's an uninstaller, use that. Install the LegacyFX module through Magisk. Just follow the installer prompts, vol + or vol -, for which options you want. (I chose the older version 2.3.) At the end you can choose to make it a system or user app; I chose system. It works fine.
The device has rooted magisk
my audio experience on 1 + 5t is amazing 1 stereo system on iphone headphones you just need to install the magisk ainur sauron + viper4androi module and fix packages so that it combines together into a perfect effec combination Here you will see the power of the lord when listening to music on spotify
Experience after many trial order installation
1: ainu sauron
2: viper4andoid
3: audio compatibility patch it will create a link
4: audio modification lybrary: the module to work well on the music player is acp.zip you will find it in the link below
5:Add Dts headset port
Just the order above is enough to make you perfect sound
After having all the mods above, you will see viper4andoi change the color of the sign that it is working to enjoy the sound of the lord of the ring.
i can't upload the link you just need to search on google on "Ainur saron"
There are 2 versions for me to choose sauron
download latest 2.7 from xda lab
download and install audio modification library
open viper install driver and reboot
